Unveiling the Myth: Does Sun Exposure Really Affect Your Botox Results?

0

As the summer season sets in, many have deferred their Botox appointments due to concerns about how the treatments might hold up in the sweltering heat. However, medical professionals are eager to dispel this lingering myth once and for all.

Within the beauty industry, it’s long been rumored that cosmetic injections are at risk of melting during summer, fostering the mistaken belief that high temperatures can break down the injectable solution.

Social media, particularly TikTok, has only amplified these claims, with users often alleging their Botox treatments were compromised after outdoor activities.

Yet, doctors are now debunking this theory, clarifying that it’s based on misinformation.

“Warm weather does not inherently alter the effectiveness of Botox once it’s been administered correctly,” asserts Dr. Melanie Palm, a board–certified dermatologist, in a conversation with the Daily Mail.

‘Botox and other neuromodulators work at the neuromuscular junction, where they temporarily quiet the muscle activity that creates dynamic lines,’ she said.

‘The outside temperature is not going to ‘melt’ the product or make it behave differently in the skin.’

Board–certified plastic surgeon Dr Rian Maercks of the Miami’s Maercks Institute agreed.

Summer is finally here - and if you've been putting off your Botox refresh because you're worried about how it will fare during the hot weather, doctors are finally putting the myth to bed (stock image)

‘The toxin itself is placed into the muscle and begins binding to nerve endings within hours. Once it’s there, normal outdoor temperatures don’t “melt” it or deactivate it,’ Dr Maercks told the Daily Mail.

‘The bigger issue is that people tend to be more physically active during the summer,’ he shared.

‘Increased exercise, travel, outdoor activities, and sun exposure may indirectly influence how patients perceive their results, but heat itself is not reducing Botox effectiveness.’

For those who may be unfamiliar, Botox, short for ‘botulinum toxin,’ is an injection made from neurotoxins.

It works to weaken the muscles in the face or other parts of the body, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Not only can it be used to smooth and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, but it can also be used to treat migraines and other plights – and it is incredibly common in Hollywood, with stars like Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen confessing to the injections.

Oftentimes, patients get injections every three to four months, which means that it’s something that is done year–round.

However, there may be one benefit to getting the injections around the summer months.

Not only can Botox be used to smooth and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, but it can also be used to treat migraines and other plights - and it's incredibly common in Hollywood, with stars like Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen confessing to the injections

‘One interesting thing patients may notice in warmer months is actually less sweating in the treated areas,’ Dr Palm told the Daily Mail.

‘Botox and other neuromodulators can reduce activity in eccrine glands, which are the sweat glands responsible for sweat production,’ the doctor shared.

‘So patients may be pleasantly surprised that they have less sweating on the forehead or other treated areas of the face during hot weather,’ she said.

The doctor added that some patients like to schedule their treatments around big events like weddings, vacations or the holidays.

‘Summer can actually be a very reasonable time to treat, particularly for patients who notice they are squinting more in bright sun or who appreciate the added benefit of less sweating in treated areas like the forehead,’ she said.

But like any other cosmetic treatment, there are important aftercare precautions to take – and some of them do include avoiding activities like sweating in a sauna or going to a hot yoga class.

‘I recommend patients skip strenuous workouts, hot yoga, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and prolonged direct sun exposure that day,’ Dr Palm said.

‘I also tell them not to rub or massage the treated area, and to be gentle if they are applying skincare or makeup,’ she said.

‘Patients can still go about their day, but I would keep it low–key: stay cool, hydrate, wear a broad–spectrum sunscreen, and avoid anything that causes significant flushing or sweating right after the appointment,’ she said.

Dr Maercks also added that for the first several hours after treatment, patients should avoid bending over or doing any activity that ‘substantially increases blood flow to the face.’

Like Dr Palm, he also recommends staying out of the saunas or going for a hot workout.

‘This isn’t because heat destroys Botox, but because excessive vasodilation immediately after treatment may increase swelling or bruising,’ he said.

However, at the end of the day, it’s important to keep in mind that Botox isn’t the ultimate fix for facial aging.

‘It is an excellent treatment for dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle activity, but it does not lift descended tissues or restore facial structure,’ Dr Maercks said.

‘Patients often expect Botox to correct changes that are actually caused by ligament laxity, volume descent, and structural aging,’ he said.

‘Understanding that distinction leads to much happier patients and more natural long–term outcomes.’

Cesc Fabregas Eyes Chelsea Talent for Como as Xabi Alonso Sways Marco Palestra Away from Inter Milan: Transfer Insights

0

Once again, we find ourselves in the midst of the transfer window. Open until September 1, this period promises to be bustling as clubs strive to secure key acquisitions before the upcoming season kicks off. In collaboration with Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team, let’s delve into today’s top stories…

Fabregas Eyes Chalobah for Como

Cesc Fabregas, now at the helm of Italian club Como, is pushing forward with efforts to bring Chelsea and England defender Trevoh Chalobah into the fold.

Trevoh Chalobah could be heading to Italy with Cesc Fabregas's Como showing an interest

Trevoh Chalobah may soon find himself in Italy, with Cesc Fabregas’s Como among those interested in securing his talents.

Meanwhile, Chalobah is on the radar of several clubs, including Inter Milan and other Premier League teams, as uncertainty lingers around Wesley Fofana’s next move.

Chalobah was a late call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad after Tino Livramento withdrew with a calf injury.

Como made enquiries last week and are now willing to make an offer to test the water for the former Crystal Palace defender.

Derry prospect Liam Kelly on English clubs’ radar

Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Brighton are taking a look at Derry City prospect Liam Kelly.

Kelly became Derry City’s youngest-ever player in a competitive fixture when he was introduced as a substitute for James McClean in Monday’s 1-1 Premier Division draw against leaders Shamrock Rovers – aged just 15.

Kelly’s first League of Ireland appearance came in the wake of him collecting his Under-16 and Under-17 Northern Ireland caps from Aaron Hughes, formerly of Newcastle, who is now Technical Director at the Irish FA, last week.

The midfielder has been invited to train with the Premier League sides who have been following his progress

Spurs’ busy summer continues

Tottenham have signed goalkeeper Martin Dubravka after his contract expired at Burnley.

Dubravka, 37, turned down an offer from Wolves and Saudi Arabia to stay in the Premier League and said: ‘It’s an exciting time for me, a new journey and new experience for me and my family. I’m looking forward to it.

Martin Dubravka was a mainstay for Burnley last season and has now joined Tottenham

‘Everything moved pretty quickly and I’m really happy to be here. I’ve loved watching Roberto (De Zerbi)’s teams over the years and know all about his style, vision and the fantastic fans here.

‘Tottenham is one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and I can’t wait to meet everyone and get started.’

Tottenham still expect to sell Vicario back to Italy, with Antonin Kinsky likely to be number one next season under Roberto De Zerbi.

Spurs remain in talks over Mateus Fernandes at West Ham and have also checked on Crysencio Summerville, who is currently away at the World Cup with the Netherlands, as part of their plans to sign two wingers this summer.

Manor Solomon is expected to leave this summer after three successive loan spells away from the club and Randal Kolo Muani has returned to Paris Saint-Germain following the end of his loan.

Kolo Muani has interest from Juventus, but the Italians may be priced out of a move as it stands. Juve are also interested in Vicario but face competition from Napoli.

They will go back with an improved offer for Sandro Tonali and are maintaining talks with Manchester City over Savinho.

Leeds confirm Wilson

Leeds have won the race to sign Harry Wilson on a free transfer. The Wales forward is set to leave Fulham when his contract expires at the end of the month.

Aston Villa, Benfica and Everton were among the other interested clubs.

The 29-year-old almost joined Leeds on Deadline Day last summer only for the move to collapse at the last minute.

As well as Wilson, Leeds have been exploring a move for Julian Brandt, who is set to leave Borussia Dortmund as a free agent and are in talks with Southampton for midfielder Shea Charles after their initial £20m offer was rejected.

Vitek targeted by newly-promoted clubs

Hull City are among the clubs circling Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek.

Daily Mail Sport understands that the Tigers are among several Premier League clubs interested in Vitek, alongside fellow promoted sides Coventry City and Ipswich Town.

Xabi works his magic

Xabi Alonso played his part yesterday in convincing Marco Palestra to join Chelsea over Inter Milan.

Chelsea’s financial package was also superior, suiting all parties especially Atalanta. They were keen to have a sell-on clause also included for the Italy wing-back as they believe he will go on to an even bigger stage.

Alonso spoke to Palestra convincing him he had a key role to play despite the players already on Chelsea’s roster.

Malo Gusto has been linked with a move to Manchester City as a consequence but Enzo Maresca’s new club have yet to make contact.

Hendry signs new deal

Scotland centre-back Jack Hendry has agreed a lucrative new two-year deal with Al Ettifaq.

The 27-year-old, who is due to face Brazil for his country at the World Cup tonight, has landed improved terms with the Saudi Pro League club which make him one of the best paid players in the national team.

Hull City, Wolves and Burnley had shown interest in the former Bruges defender, who would have been out of contract this summer, but they were unable to compete with the finances on offer.

Rebuild Lower-Body Strength After 60 with These 5 Effective Wall Exercises

0

Five wall exercises to rejuvenate leg strength, balance, and stability for those over 60.

>

Wall exercises transform lower-body workouts into a straightforward yet remarkably effective routine. By leveraging the wall for support and feedback, you have a stable foundation to enhance the strength of your legs, hips, glutes, and core muscles, all without the need for extensive equipment. This setup becomes particularly beneficial after the age of 60, as it enables you to build strength more confidently and safely.

While squats remain a staple exercise, incorporating wall exercises allows you to maintain strong positions for longer durations. These exercises enable you to practice balance, isolate the strength-building of each leg, and engage the hips through precise, controlled maneuvers. Such consistent practice accumulates significant benefits, making everyday activities like climbing stairs more manageable and reinforcing your ability to effortlessly move throughout the day.

I appreciate wall-based lower-body exercises because they provide clear feedback on each movement. With the wall acting as a guide, you can feel when your back is properly aligned, your knees are appropriately positioned, your hips are balanced, and your leg muscles are effectively engaging. For many individuals over 60, this level of feedback transforms a basic exercise into a more efficient and constructive strength-building routine.

Incorporate these five wall exercises into your routine as a means of rejuvenating your lower body, all from the comfort of your home. Stand tall, execute each movement with precision, and harness every repetition to enhance your immediate strength potential.

Wall Sit

Wall sits train your quads, glutes, hamstrings, and core while teaching your legs to hold tension. Instead of moving up and down like a squat, you stay in one strong position and let your muscles work steadily. This makes wall sits useful for restoring lower-body strength because they build endurance, joint control, and confidence in your legs. Start with a higher position if needed, then work lower as your strength improves.

Muscles Trained: Quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand with your back against a wall.
  2. Walk your feet forward slightly.
  3. Slide down the wall until your knees bend to a comfortable angle.
  4. Keep your back supported and your chest lifted.
  5. Hold the position while breathing steadily.
  6. Press through your feet to stand back up.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 20 to 45-second holds. Rest for 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Higher wall sits, lower wall sits, wall sits with a ball squeeze.

Form Tip: Keep your knees tracking over your toes and press through your whole foot.

5 Bodyweight Exercises to Totally Reshape Your Body Better Than Weight Training After 50

Wall Sit March

Wall sit marches train your quads, glutes, hip flexors, and core while adding a balance challenge to the standard hold. Lifting one foot at a time asks your standing leg to stay strong and your midsection to keep your hips steady. This exercise builds the lower-body control you use when walking, climbing stairs, and stepping over obstacles. Keep the marches small and smooth.

Muscles Trained: Quadriceps, glutes, hip flexors, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Set up in a wall sit position.
  2. Keep your back against the wall and your chest lifted.
  3. Brace your core and press both feet into the floor.
  4. Lift one foot a few inches off the ground.
  5. Lower it with control.
  6. Alternate sides for the full set.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 12 marches per side. Rest for 45 to 60 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Higher wall-sit marches, slower marches, wall-sit heel lifts.

Form Tip: Keep your hips level as each foot lifts.

Single-Leg Wall Sit

Single-leg wall sits strengthen your quads, glutes, hips, and core while giving each leg more direct work. This variation helps restore side-to-side strength balance, which matters for stairs, walking, and getting up from chairs. You can keep one heel lightly on the floor for support or lift the foot fully for a bigger challenge. A short, strong hold works better than sinking too low and losing position.

Muscles Trained: Quadriceps, glutes, hips, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Set up in a comfortable wall sit position.
  2. Press your back into the wall and brace your core.
  3. Shift slightly more weight into one foot.
  4. Extend the opposite leg forward or keep the heel lightly touching the floor.
  5. Hold the position while keeping your hips level.
  6. Switch sides after the hold.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 10 to 20-second holds per side. Rest for 45 seconds between each side.

Best Variations: Heel-supported single-leg wall sits, higher single-leg wall sits, shorter holds.

Form Tip: Keep your standing knee steady and your weight centered over your foot.

6 Standing Arm Exercises That Tighten Sagging Arms in 30 Days After 60

Wall-Supported Step-Back Lunges

Wall-supported step-back lunges target your glutes, quads, hamstrings, hips, and core, while the wall provides extra balance support. The reverse step makes the movement easier to control, and your front leg gets strong work as you lower and stand. This exercise helps restore lower-body strength by training each leg to step, stabilize, and push with confidence. Keep your hand lightly on the wall rather than leaning into it.

Muscles Trained: Glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, hips, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand beside a wall with one hand lightly touching it.
  2. Set your feet hip-width apart.
  3. Brace your core and step one foot back.
  4. Lower into a comfortable lunge position.
  5. Press through your front foot to stand tall.
  6. Complete all reps, then switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps per side. Rest for 45 to 60 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Smaller step-back lunges, split squats, assisted reverse lunges.

Form Tip: Use the wall for balance while letting your front leg do the work.

Wall Hip Abduction

Wall hip abductions train your outer hips, glutes, and core. Strong outer hips help your knees track better, support balance, and make walking feel more stable. This exercise looks small, but it adds a key piece of lower-body strength that squats often don’t train directly. Stand tall, move slowly, and focus on lifting from the side of your hip.

Muscles Trained: Glutes, outer hips, hip stabilizers, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand beside a wall with one hand lightly touching it.
  2. Shift your weight onto the leg closest to the wall.
  3. Brace your core and stand tall.
  4. Lift your outside leg out to the side.
  5. Pause briefly at the top.
  6. Lower your foot with control and switch sides after your reps.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 10 to 12 reps per side. Rest for 30 to 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Banded wall hip abductions, slower hip abductions, small-range hip lifts.

Form Tip: Keep your toes pointing forward and avoid leaning away from the working leg.

6 Daily Exercises To Shrink Hanging Belly Fat Better Than Gym Sessions After 60

How to Restore Lower-Body Strength With Wall Exercises

Wall exercises provide your lower body with support while still requiring your muscles to work. The holds build strength and endurance, the marches challenge balance, and the single-leg movements help each side get stronger. Together, they make a simple routine that feels steady, approachable, and effective.

  • Start with strong positions: Wall sits help your legs learn to hold tension. Find a knee angle you can control and build from there.
  • Add movement gradually: Marches and step-back lunges help your legs stay strong as your body moves. Small, clean reps create progress.
  • Train one side at a time: Single-leg wall sits and hip abductions help improve side-to-side balance and strength.
  • Use the wall as feedback: The wall helps you stay tall, supported, and aligned. Let it guide your posture without leaning on it too heavily.
  • Progress with time and control: Add a few seconds to your holds, slow down your reps, use a mini band, or add another set once the routine feels easier.

Lower-body strength after 60 grows through steady, repeatable work. Use the wall to support better positions, keep the effort smooth, and build legs and hips that feel stronger for walking, stairs, standing, and everything else you want to keep doing well.

Christopher Meloni Shares Harrowing Bouncer Car Chase Near-Death Experience

Long before Christopher Meloni became known for his portrayal of Detective Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, a desire to apprehend wrongdoers seemed to be deeply ingrained in him.

Reflecting on his days as a bouncer in New York City, Meloni, now 65, shared an anecdote from before his major television break on NBC’s iconic show in 1999. He recounted an incident where he had to track down two young women who had left a “little dive bar down on Bleecker Street” without paying their tab.

“A panicked waitress approached me and said, ‘Two girls ran out on the bill,’” Meloni recalled during the June 22 episode of the “Thanks Dad With Ego Nwodim” podcast. “So the manager and I dashed out onto Bleecker Street to catch them.”

The actor vividly remembered the chase, describing how a light dusting of “fresh fallen snow” carpeted the streets. When the waitress identified the culprits, Meloni set off in pursuit, sprinting after the fleeing women.

Does Chris Meloni's NFL Series Mean 'Law and Order' Spinoff Is Canceled?

Although Meloni’s spinoff, Law & Order: Organized Crime, has been canceled after five seasons, speculation about his future involvement with SVU continues. Showrunner Michele Fazekas addressed the topic when speaking to People, saying, “People always ask me about Stabler, and I adore Meloni. I would definitely consider using [him]…”

Meloni said when he caught up with the pair, he grabbed one girl and said, “Hey, what’s going on? You gotta pay your bill.”

She tried to talk her way out of the situation. “[She’s like], ‘Oh, no, let us go,’” Meloni said, revealing that “all of a sudden a car screeches up” with the girls’ boyfriends in it.

“I’m distracted and one gets away — they both get away — and they jump into the car,” Meloni explained, but his fight didn’t stop there.

He told listeners that he grabbed onto the passenger side door, which was closed. “And they’re trying to roll up the window and I’m holding it down,” Meloni continued. “And I said, ‘Get out of the car, get out of the car!’”

As Meloni was holding on for dear life, he said one of the women started “punching me in the face.”

“Then the guy in the back seat [says], ‘Slam him against, hit him against the parked cars,’” he recalled. “He’s going to try and crush me against the parked cars. And I’m skitching along, ’cause it’s fresh snow.”

Although the incident lasted for “about three seconds,” Meloni was well aware that he could’ve been killed over a few bucks.

“It starts going and you’re wondering when can I let go without being caught under the back wheels,” he shared. “Whatever it was, I did let go finally. Freshly slapped and punched around.”

Feature Chris Meloni Alludes to Being Always Open for a Benson an Stabler Romance

Chris Meloni might be ready for an Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler romance — but it’s not his call to make. “I’m always open to opening that can of worms,” Meloni, 64, told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting Law & Order: Organized Crime season 5, hinting at a possible relationship between Benson and Stabler. “It’s […]

When Meloni was safely back on solid ground, he recalled being perplexed at the women’s motives for running out on the bill.

“I just remember going, ‘What the f*** are you thinking? What are you doing?’” he said. “I mean, probably for a bill of $45 or something.”

Meloni, who made his acting debut in 1988, noted that the car chase was his most intense memory from his time as a bouncer.

“Other than that, yeah, I had to put down a guy with a side kick one time,” he recalled of his life before acting took off. “I’d taken taekwondo in college and I went, ‘Oh, it actually works.’”

Meloni remembered that the guy tore his shirt while he was “trying to be nice” and “get him out” without incident.

“And he was holding on to me. I threw him to the ground and he held onto my shirt. I was like, ‘That’s just great.’ I was like, ‘Just get out of here,’” Meloni told podcast host Ego Nwodim. “He would not not get out of here.”

Luckily for Meloni, his taekwondo training “worked” and a side kick “knocked the wind out of him” and made him leave the venue.

Mariska Hargitay Hints at Possible Chris Meloni Reunion After 'Organized Crime' Is Canceled

Mariska Hargitay is hopeful to reunite with Law & Order: SVU costar Chris Meloni in the future after the cancellation of the Organized Crime spinoff. “I love Chris and I love acting with Chris, so I’m always open to working with him and getting Benson and Stabler together,” the actress, 62, said in an interview […]

After college and working as a bouncer, Meloni found success in Hollywood beginning in the late ‘80s.

His first TV role was a cameo on The Equalizer in 1988, followed by a role on 1st & Ten from 1989 to 1990. Meloni rose to superstar status in 1999 when he began playing Detective Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: SVU alongside Mariska Hargitay as Detective Olivia Benson.

Meloni exited the series in 2011 after season 12, returning in 2021 for a few guest episodes, which he’s continued to do periodically in the years since.

Meloni also reprised his role as Stabler in 2021 on Law & Order: Organized Crime, which he helmed for 5 seasons before it was cancelled in 2025.

Kelsey Grammer’s Compassionate Message: Prayers for Pandemic-Stricken America Amid Trump Memorial Controversy

Kelsey Grammer expressed his concerns for Americans suffering from the virus, during a conversation about President Trump’s claims regarding vandalism at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

The acclaimed Frasier actor, now 71, joined Fox News’ Jesse Watters Primetime on Tuesday. During the broadcast, Watters spoke passionately about the contentious $16 million refurbishment of the iconic pool, which is part of the preparations for America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

In a recent renovation project, workers applied a coating described as ‘American flag blue’ to the pool, only for it to be overtaken by algae that turned it green. Trump has repeatedly claimed, without providing substantiating evidence, that vandals are responsible for this and other issues.

Watters aired footage from the Department of the Interior that purportedly depicted individuals seen as vandals, in the act of submerging their hands into the pool. He suggested that the Democrats, whom he referred to as ‘party poopers,’ want the site to remain in disarray.

In his discussion with Grammer, Watters posed a provocative question: ‘Why can’t we have nice things?’

While Grammer, who is famously a lifelong conservative Republican, did not comment on whether he believed the people were vandals, he responded ‘Well, we can, and most Americans understand that we can, and should.

‘There is a virus that has infected a very small number of people, I think, who just want to tear things down. They’ve been consumed by hatred.

‘Of course, hatred ends up basically destroying you. They’re welcome to it. I pray for them. I pray for everyone to find decent sentiment in their hearts about this country and about the people who run it these days and about those who love it, because it’s worth loving.’

After Watters claimed that tourists visiting the United States for the World Cup respected the country more than Americans do, Grammer said, ‘It’s great that we’re given this chance to see it in the eyes of so many of our European fellows and South American fellows. This whole idea about many, we are one, it is one of the greatest things in the world.

‘It’s by definition a diverse nation, but we have a unifying concept that everybody’s worth reaching for the moon. And America will help you do it.’

Trump has claimed that vandals used a knife or blade to make a 250-foot gash in the surface and poured destructive chemicals into the water.

A chain link fence was erected on Tuesday around the Reflecting Pool after another person was taken away in cuffs from the memorial.

The fence went up after a number of arrests made in connection with the pool.

The president said on Tuesday morning that six arrests had already been made and that several had been cited for vandalizing the memorial.

The threat came after a bruising weekend for the project, which was meant to give one of Washington’s most recognizable landmarks a fresh look ahead of the country’s 250th anniversary celebrations on July 4.

Trump had ordered contractors to drain the pool and coat its surface in blue, saying the color would better reflect the Washington Monument.

But the makeover quickly ran into visible problems.

Algae bloomed after the pool was refilled, turning sections of the water a murky green. The new blue surface then began to peel, leaving loose strips and patchy areas across the bottom.

Trump has repeatedly blamed the problems on vandals, claiming without publicly providing evidence that people had used a knife or blade to make a 250-foot gash in the surface and poured destructive chemicals into the water.

He said Sunday that repairs would begin after he inspected the pool.

‘Work will begin immediately on fixing the seriously vandalized Reflecting Pool,’ Trump wrote. ‘I just inspected it, and could only say to myself, and those gathered around me, WOW, who would do such a thing?’

Grammer spoke last week about what his idea of conservatism leading to achieving the American dream means to him.

‘If you come from a place of kindness and you come from a space of respect for others, all the other things will fall into place,’ he said.

‘If you understand you gotta balance a checkbook, you gotta pay your bills, you gotta pay your taxes, there’s a whole world of stuff you have to maintain. That’s your ticket to freedom. That’s your ticket to the American dream. It’s hard work.’

Brooks Nader Reveals Surprising Updates on Her Relationship with Taron Egerton

0

Despite being spotted together in what many interpreted as romantic encounters, Brooks Nader has clarified that she and actor Taron Egerton were “never” romantically involved.

The model addressed recent speculation while speaking with TMZ on Wednesday from the set of her upcoming series, “Baywatch.” She emphasized her single status, saying, “I’m just single, having fun, always.”

When asked about her dating life, Nader, 29, confirmed that she is not seeing anyone in particular. “I’m just going on fun dates, but not with anyone right now,” she said, underscoring her focus on personal enjoyment and professional endeavors.

As she prepares for her role in the much-anticipated “Baywatch,” Nader cheekily responded to inquiries about her relationship status by saying, “I’m working. I’m just Baywatching.”

Rumors of a romance between Nader and Egerton, 36, initially surfaced after Page Six reported their attendance at a screening of “Project Hail Mary,” which features Ryan Gosling, on March 27. However, Nader’s recent comments make it clear that the conjecture was unfounded.

The following day, they were seen grabbing drinks at the Shutters on the Beach hotel in Santa Monica, California.

We’re told the duo appeared “infatuated” with each other, and as if they’ve known each other for some time.

Nader and the “Rocketman” star seemingly spent a weekend together, as they were photographed holding hands and kissing on March 29.

That same night, they were seen out to dinner at the celebrity hot spot Giorgio Baldi. However, they notably kept their distance as they left the Santa Monica eatery.

Nader and Egerton took their romance overseas in April, as they were seen getting cozy off the coast of Australia.

The rumored couple’s outings continued into the following month when they enjoyed dinner with Nader’s family at Craig’s in West Hollywood, California.

They ensured to keep their distance while leaving the restaurant with the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model’s parents, Holland and Breaux, and her sisters, Mary Holland and Sarah Jane.

Nader’s previous romance was with her “Dancing With the Stars” partner, Gleb Savchenko, from September 2024 to April 2025.

She was also married to businessman Billy Haire from 2019 to 2025.

As for Egerton, his last relationship was with actress Chloe Bennet in 2024.

Elon Musk Questions Mystery Behind Texas Tesla Crash: ‘This Makes No Sense

KATY, Texas (The Hill) – Tesla CEO Elon Musk has dismissed accusations that the company’s full self-driving software was responsible for a recent accident in Texas that claimed the life of a local woman.

The tragic incident involved 76-year-old Martha Avila, who died when a Tesla vehicle careened through her home in Katy, Texas, last Friday. Authorities and the driver have suggested that the automated driving assistance system was active during the crash, according to a lawsuit filed by Avila’s daughter.

“This makes no sense,” Musk commented on X in response to the claims. “FSD [full self-driving] operates at low speeds on neighborhood streets, while this incident involved high speeds!”

Echoing Musk’s skepticism, Tesla’s Vice President of AI Software, Ashok Elluswamy, explained that the driver had “manually taken over by fully pressing the accelerator in this residential area,” possibly leading to the crash.

In the wake of the incident, Jennifer Barbour, Avila’s daughter, alongside her husband Justin Barbour, has filed a lawsuit against both Tesla and the driver, Michael Butler, seeking accountability for the crash.

The lawsuit alleges the accident was “caused by the concurrent negligence of Defendant Butler and the defective condition of the Vehicle and its Autopilot and Full Self-Driving systems as designed, manufactured, and marketed by Defendant Tesla.”

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said it has launched a special crash investigation into the incident.

The federal regulator previously opened a probe into Tesla’s full-self driving software, which escalated in March from a preliminary evaluation to an engineering analysis. It is investigating nine other crashes, including one fatal, in which the system is alleged to have failed to detect poor driving conditions and alert drivers quickly enough.

The investigation is ongoing.

Tensions Flare as Trump Clashes with Senator in Heated Exchange: ‘You’re a Bully

0

In a heated meeting on Wednesday in Washington, DC, Donald Trump clashed with Republican senators over restrictions on his authority to lead military actions against Iran.

This intense private encounter followed the Senate’s bipartisan decision, led by Republicans, to pass a measure demanding Trump cease military operations in Iran unless Congress gives its approval. Notably, four GOP senators diverged from the party line to challenge the President.

This decision represents the most pronounced pushback from Republicans against Trump so far, highlighting the growing divide between him and his party.

Behind closed doors on Capitol Hill, Trump confronted the full Republican Senate majority, pressing them to explain their decision to curtail his war-making powers.

Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana tried to articulate their perspective, only for Trump to respond with personal attacks. Cassidy, alongside fellow Republicans Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and Rand Paul, aligned with Democrats to pass the war powers measure.

‘He [Trump] was asking why anybody would vote for the power’s accident. I said, “Is that a rhetorical question, or do you want to know?” He goes, “I want to know.”‘ Cassidy told the Daily Mail.

Cassidy began ‘yelling’ at the President at one point, and Trump responded by calling him a lunatic and telling him to ‘sit down.’

The Republican lawmaker refused and referred to Trump as ‘brother.’ The President told him he wasn’t his ‘brother’ before Cassidy eventually settled back into his seat.

Trump also mocked the senator for losing his primary, which the senator perceived as the President’s attempt to bully him.

Cassidy lost his Republican primary in May, and will leave the Senate in January, making him the first elected incumbent senator to lose a primary since 2012.

‘I’m not going to be bullied when I feel like I’m asking a question the American people need to know. And so, at that point, it began to escalate,’ Cassidy told the Daily Mail.

Trump’s meeting with the senator followed his controversial decision to abruptly cancel a signing ceremony for a bipartisan housing bill.

The President said he would not sign the bill until the Senate passed his controversial Save America Act, which requires Americans to present a voter ID to cast an electoral ballot.

Asked about Trump’s refusal to hold the housing bill hostage, Senate Majority Leader John Thune told reporters, ‘That was his call to make.’

As he left the Capitol building, Trump called it a ‘great meeting’ but said he was frustrated with some Republican lawmakers.

‘We like our leader. We like everybody, really, in the room,’ Trump said. ‘I don’t like a few people, but that’s okay, I think you know who they are.’

Thune did not escort the President out of the Capitol following his remarks to the press about GOP lawmakers.

Trump’s relationship with the Senate GOP has been on the decline since the President endorsed primary challengers to two Republican incumbents seen as major allies of Thune: Texas Senator John Cornyn and Cassidy.

Once a reliably loyal bloc, the chamber’s GOP majority has grown increasingly willing to break with the President on questions of war powers, spending, and the limits of executive authority.

Discover Lorena Bobbitt’s Life Today After the Infamous Incident

0

Over thirty years have passed since the dramatic events involving Lorena Bobbitt, who severed her then-husband John Wayne Bobbitt’s penis with a kitchen knife before fleeing from their shared Virginia apartment.

The incident quickly became a sensation across the nation, capturing widespread attention in the ’90s and turning into a significant cultural reference point. Both Lorena and John faced trials as their conflicting accounts of what happened unfolded in court.

According to ABC News, Lorena claimed she reached a breaking point after enduring years of sexual abuse. She was ultimately deemed not guilty due to temporary insanity in the case of malicious wounding. In a separate trial, John was acquitted of charges of marital sexual assault.

Years later, with the rise of the #MeToo movement, Lorena’s story was revisited and gained renewed attention through the 2019 Prime Video documentary Lorena.

Lorena, who now goes by her maiden name Lorena Gallo, has transformed her infamous experience into a platform for advocacy. She leverages her notoriety to support victims of domestic violence, going so far as to establish her own foundation dedicated to the cause.

Here’s everything to know about the case and Lorena’s life today:

What Happened to Lorena Bobbitt and John Bobbitt?

John and Lorena were four years into their marriage when their union took a dark turn on June 23, 1993.

Lorena told investigators that in the early morning hours, John returned home drunk after a night out, jumped on top of her and raped her, per ABC News. It was the final straw in what she alleged was years of abuse.

During their marriage, Kim Chinn—a retired sergeant with the Prince William County Police Department—told ABC News there had been “about half a dozen” domestic violence calls to the home. Charges were only brought once when John was charged with assault and battery. He later got a cross-warrant against Lorena, who was also charged with assault and battery, but both charges were ultimately dropped.

That night in June, Lorena told police that she went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and cut off his penis.

“I went back to the bedroom. I took the sheets off and I cut him,” she told ABC News in 1993. “Everything went just fast.”

Then comma she fled the apartment and threw the severed member out the window of her car.

“I’m not a vindictive person,” she told The New York Times in 2019, “because I told them where it was.”

John, however, has consistently denied any claims of abuse and told ABC News that he came home and went to sleep. In his account, Lorena had been trying to initiate sexual contact but he was “exhausted” and couldn’t respond.

He insisted he “never raped anybody in my life” and said everything happened while he was in a “deep sleep.”

“She was never abused,” he added in his own 2019 interview with The New York Times. “She was always the abuser and she cut off my penis because I was going to leave her.”

What Happened After John Bobbitt’s Penis Was Cut Off?

After the attack, John told ABC News that he immediately sprung out of bed.

“I was bleeding, I was applying pressure, then immediately I thought it was something out of a horror movie,” he recalled. “A nightmare… turned into reality.”

John was driven to the emergency room by a friend, who had been staying at the apartment that night, the outlet reported.

“There was no hysteria,” Bobbitt’s plastic surgeon, Dr. David Berman later recalled to Oxygen. “He just kind of walked up [to the desk].”

After John’s penis was discovered in a field next to a 7-11, police were able to get it on ice and rush it to the hospital, where it was reattached.

“Obviously had a little squirrel, or bird, or something like that taken it,” Berman explained, “it would have been a very different story.”

According to Berman, John remained calm throughout the ordeal.

“Every guy is going to feel anxiety with his weenie cut off, but he never really had much pain that I am aware of or can remember,” Berman told Oxygen. “He never really said, ‘Why me.’”

What Happened at Lorena Bobbitt’s trial?

After the surgery, John was arrested and charged with marital sexual assault due to Lorena’s allegation that he’d raped her that night, per ABC News. He was acquitted in November 1993.

Lorena was the next to go on trial for malicious wounding in a highly-publicized two-week event. She was found not guilty by reason of temporary insanity, according to NBC News.

What Did John Bobbitt Do After His Trial?

John infamously went on to star in pornographic movies and made a series of talk show appearances, becoming a regular guest on The Howard Stern Show. He also briefly worked as a host-chauffer-bartender at Nevada’s Moonlight Bunny Ranch, The Las Vegas Sun reported.

John was later charged with domestic battery in connection with incidents involving two other women, according to ABC News, and served time in jail.

He denied the abuse to the news outlet, claiming he got involved with the women “too fast” and didn’t know “their motives.”

“After the case, I would attract all the wrong people,” he said. “And I didn’t have that just—discernment of picking and choosing wisely.”

What Happened to Lorena Bobbitt After She Was Acquitted?

After her verdict, the court demanded Lorena spend five weeks at a mental hospital for treatment and evaluation, per ABC News.

Today, she believes today the sensational nature of her case overshadowed the domestic violence allegations she made against her husband.

“They were more concerned about his penis instead of domestic violence,” she told TIME in 2018. “They really missed the whole concept of domestic violence and abuse against women.”

What is Lorena Bobbitt Doing Today?

The manicurist went on to find love with David Bellinger after the pair met in college, according to USA Today. They later welcomed a daughter together.

Though they’ve been together more than 20 years, Lorena told the news outlet in 2019 that they weren’t married.

“I believe in marriage as an institution, of course, and I respect that,” she said at the time. “It was my choice. He even says, ‘If you’re ready to marry, I’ll just show up!’”

Today, Lorena is focused on her work as an advocate against domestic violence. To aid in her efforts, she created the Lorena Gallo Foundation, which, according to its mission, strives to “expand domestic violence and sexual assault prevention education, emergency response resources and community engagement activities that will improve outcomes for survivors and their children.”

“Since her own escape from domestic violence, Lorena has dedicated her life to inspiring survivors to discover their own resilience and shining a light on the actions we can all take to help end the trauma of abuse,” the foundation’s website noted. “With her message that silence is not an option, Lorena has refused to be defined by the abuse she experienced.”

She’s also started sharing her own story, first in the documentary Lorena and later in the 2020 Lifetime docudrama I Was Lorena Bobbitt.

“People used to judge me before, saying that they don’t believe my story,” she told Entertainment Tonight in 2020. “To tell the story again is more than a blessing, to me it is an opportunity to tell it right.”
