Unveiling the Thrills: FIFA World Cup 2026 June 14th Match Results, Highlights & In-Depth Reports

In brief

  • Australia has defeated Türkiye at the World Cup with a stonewall defence.
  • Scotland completes a historic win, Morocco and Brazil went level, and Qatar claws back a goal from Switzerland.

The eagerly awaited clash between Australia and Türkiye kicked off with the Socceroos establishing a formidable defensive wall against a relentless Turkish side that showed no intention of backing down.

Türkiye launched into the game with vigor, relentlessly pushing the Australians into their own territory, showcasing a fluid and skillful style of play.

In the early stages, a series of precise shots from Turkish attackers kept Australian fans on the edge of their seats.

Australia, true to expectations, adopted a defensive stance. This strategy, favored by head coach Tony Popovic, has become synonymous with the Socceroos, who are renowned for “parking the bus”—a tactic emphasizing steadfast defense and capitalizing on opponents’ errors.

Despite a few sloppy touches, Australia managed to keep the Turkish threat largely at bay, though both sides exhibited impressive football skills throughout the match.

By the time the first hydration break rolled around in the 25th minute, a picture was emerging: these teams were indeed closer together than some had predicted. Australia looking dangerous if allowed to break away, Türkiye adept at moving into Australia’s third.

And then, a 27th minute breakthrough: A worrying shot on target from Turkish forward Arda Guler was reversed by an Okon-Engstler assist to Nestor Irankunda, who blew by Turkish goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır to make it 1-0.

In the 38th minute, Jordan Bos, possessed by heroic ideas, fired a cannonball at the goal from about 27 metres out. The shot was never truly on, but who could begrudge him for trying?

Türkiye trooped back to the dressing room looking frustrated at half time, while the Australians breathed a sigh of relief.

At the beginning of the second half, the substitutions began. Juventus attacking midfielder Kenan Yildiz was a big name the Turkish fans had waited to see. That he was brought on to replace the still-lively Baris Alper Yilmaz came as a surprise. Clearly, Türkiye felt they needed the big guns.

The 60th minute brought Australia’s first substitution, and a big one. Goal scorer Irankunda off, replaced by Nishan Velupillay.

In the 74th, Jason Geria and Tete Yengi were brought on to replace Jacob Italiano and Mo Toure.

Moments later, Connor Metcalfe escaped down the pitch. Like Bos before him, fired the ball toward the goal from around 20 metres out. This one found the back of the net, taking the Socceroos to 2-0 and securing his place in Socceroos highlight reels forever.

More substitutions in the 84th minute, and a double change. Jackson Irvine and Aziz Behic arrived to relieve Jordan Bos and Paul Okon-Engstler.

The first yellow of the match arrived in the 85th minute, Yunus Akgun booked for a heavy challenge on Aiden O’Neill.

When the final whistle blew, it was Australia that emerged on top, 2-0.

Scotland defeats Haiti to win its first World Cup match in 36 years

There was absolutely no doubt who the crowd at Boston Stadium was supporting, deafening roars ringing out with every Scotland touch.

Haiti showed real fire in their press early doors, putting Scotland on the back foot and making it difficult for them to get out.

Haiti supports held their breath when Wolves player Jean-Ricner Bellegarde fired from just outside the box, but it sailed over the bar.

Scotland would be the first to open their account in the 28th minute. When Ché Adams stretched Haiti’s defences, Aston Villa’s John McGinn took advantage. It was a scruffy ball that found its way into the net, but the delighted Scottish supporters were not particular about it.

Haiti’s biggest problem throughout the first half were its final passes. Despite an ability to build a strong press, the Haitians were repeatedly thwarted by poor crosses and passing into the box.

Nevertheless, Haiti kept Scotland on their toes for the remainder of the match. Hard presses and moments to terrify the Scots follows as Haiti flatly refused to stop trying for a goal. Scotland fought and scrapped, drawing yellows for Aaron Hickey, Findlay Curtis and Kenny McLean. Jean-Richner Bellegarde drew the only yellow for Haiti.

Haiti missed a golden chance in the 85th minute when forward Frantzdy Pierrot received a perfect cross from the right and won the header, only to knock it off course.

In the end, Scotland came away with the much-desired, hard-fought win, its first at a World Cup in 36 years. The Scots will be painting the town blue and white tonight.

Morocco and Brazil trade blows in the heat, becoming tournament’s third 1-1 draw

It took Morocco 21 minutes to score against Brazil, sending their supporters into dreamland and leaving the Brazilian cohort stunned.

Brahim Diaz gave Ismael Saibari a perfect ball, allowing him to slice through Brazil’s two centre halves and goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who was well off his line. Chipped over their heads and into the open goal, it was a beautiful finish.

Brazil didn’t wait long to respond. In the 32nd minute, off a pass from Bruno Guimaraes, Vinicius Jr. cut back inside and sent the ball into the roof of the net off his right boot.

But even after such an explosive finish, Vini Jr’s goal remained an outlier. Morocco looked quite comfortable against a Brazilian team that couldn’t seem to keep hold of the ball.

Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui was heaped with praise throughout the match, beating players up and down the left hand side.

However, as the match wore on, the stifling hot conditions at New York New Jersey Stadium took a toll on both teams. By the 75th minute, the energy displayed in the early stages had begun to seep out of the game.

Even given ten minutes of extra time, and Brazil giving away a pair of reckless fouls, neither side could find enough clear air to land another goal and seal the win.

The match ended level 1-1.

Qatar shocks Switzerland with miracle goal in extra time

Despite looking dangerous throughout, Switzerland has been left stunned in a 1-1 draw with Qatar on Sunday.

The siege began right away, with Dan Ndoye making a lunge for a goal in the sixth minute off a ball from Michel Aebischer. It was the beginning of a very busy day for Qatar goalkeeper Mahmoud Abunada.

Ndoye would appear again in the 10th minute, missing a sitter to groans from the crowd.

More attacks quickly led to the first penalty of the match. Remo Freuler ran into a header put in his path by Breel Embolo and got flattened by Qatar goalkeeper Abunada. It was Abunada that came off second best, however and needed a medical check before play could continue.

Switzerland was given the penalty and forward Breel Embolo casually put the ball into the bottom left corner of the net to make it 1-0. The goal was controversial — there is plenty of conjecture online this morning about whether Embolo’s goal was onside or off. The TV angle made it appear to there was an offside, which may have been an optical illusion, but the goal stands regardless.

Qatar drew two yellow cards in the 23rd minute — Jassem Gaber received a booking for knocking over Ruben Vargas on his way to the penalty area. Goalkeeper Abunada was also booked for the foul that resulted in Switzerland’s penalty.

Qatar spent much of the second half looking for a way out, and failing to find one. Every move they made seemed to result in a foul or a giving away of the ball.

Qatar winger Yusuf Abdurisag seemed emblematic of Qatar’s problems. In the 55th minute, a golden opportunity opened up in front of him. In the open and with miles of space to work with, he seemed thoroughly surprised, failing to get a touch on the ball at all.

After an hour’s play, the substitutions began. Qatar brought on Karim Boudiaf, Ahmed Alaa and Ahmed Fathy to replace Ayoub Al Oui, Jassem Gaber and Yusuf Abdurisag.

Switzerland’s changes came a few minutes later. Fabian Rieder and Johan Manzambi emerged to replace Michel Aebischer and Dan Ndoye.

Perhaps feeling like they had the game sewn up against an inferior opponent, Switzerland seemed to relax a bit in the second half. The ruthlessness they’d displayed in the early stages eased, allowing Qatar to perk up rather suddenly in the final 20 minutes.

With six minutes of injury time added on, Qatar applied pressure. Their work paid off in the 95th minute when a beautiful cross from the left allowed Qatar captain Boualem Khoukhi to slam home a header and make it 1-1.

Khoukhi was immediately buried by his team mates, unable to believe he’d saved them.

When the final whistle blew, the match ended level at 1-1. The Swiss had grown too confident and, in the dying moments of the match, had been made to pay for it.

Beckham’s Allies Defend Against Controversial Claims from Brooklyn

Supporters of David and Victoria Beckham have come forward to refute claims from their estranged son, Brooklyn Beckham, who suggested that they orchestrated his sister Harper’s recent visit to his home.

The family tension surfaced when 14-year-old Harper was seen arriving at her brother’s £14 million mansion in Los Angeles on Friday. She reportedly brought a handwritten note for Brooklyn.

Nevertheless, spokespeople for Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, voiced concerns about the nature of the visit, implying it might have been staged.

They remarked to the Daily Mail, “The presence of photographers as the letter was delivered speaks volumes – this appears to have been a setup for the cameras.”

In defense, close associates of Victoria and David remarked, “It’s deeply unfortunate that such a harsh allegation is being directed at a young girl who simply misses her brother.”

‘Nothing needed to be said at all so to invent this nasty accusation is really unnecessary.’

They have also claimed that Brooklyn hasn’t accepted any contact from Harper or his grandparents since the falling out.

The photos from Friday show Harper crestfallen as she approached the Beverly Hills property before leaving just moments later.

It later emerged that Brooklyn, 27, was not even in California at the time.

Instead the aspiring chef and media personality shared an Instagram story showing himself out for a run in New York City, making it clear that he was on the opposite side of the country when his younger sister arrived at his front door.

David’s new plaque has taken pride of place at the centre of Hollywood Boulevard, just over five miles from Brooklyn’s home.

The former England captain appeared determined to avoid discussing the family fallout during interviews ahead of the ceremony.

Asked what toll months of headlines surrounding the feud had taken on him, he replied: ‘To be honest, I’m sorry to stop you there, but that’s a private matter. That’s the one thing that I don’t want to talk about.’

The Beckhams have been embroiled in an increasingly acrimonious dispute with Brooklyn and Nicola for months, with relations said to have deteriorated dramatically after the couple failed to attend David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May 2025.

In January, Brooklyn released a scathing six-page statement denouncing his parents.

He announced he had cut ties with his family – declaring he was no longer part of ‘Brand Beckham’ and insisting his parents and their other children are ‘performative’.

Shortly before Christmas last year, Brooklyn blocked his parents on Instagram, while Brooklyn and Nicola’s lawyers later wrote to the Beckhams’ legal team requesting that all communication be conducted through legal representatives.

Brooklyn also claimed David and Victoria had controlled him for much of his life, attempted to drive a wedge between him and Nicola and left him embarrassed when his mother danced ‘inappropriately’ with him during the first dance at his wedding.

Victoria has previously spoken about the challenges of parenting older children while under intense scrutiny.

Speaking about all four of her children, she said: ‘Being a parent of young adult children and adult children, gosh, I mean, it’s very different from having little children.

‘I think that we’re trying to do the best we can,’ she said, adding that the negative press in recent months had not affected her fashion and beauty empire.

‘I think that ultimately people are buying my product because the product is really good. I don’t think they’re buying my eyeliner just because it’s me.’

Iran Commits to Nuclear-Free Future and Reopens Strait of Hormuz in Landmark Deal with U.S.

0

In a significant diplomatic development, Iran has consented not to pursue the development of nuclear weapons and has agreed to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz. This decision comes as part of a peace deal mediated by President Trump, which will also see the United States release approximately $25 billion in Iranian assets that have been frozen. This announcement was made public by Tehran on Sunday.

Iranian authorities have expressed a measured optimism, hopeful that this agreement will bring an end to the conflict that has persisted for three and a half months, causing significant disruption to global markets. The potential resolution of this standoff is seen as a positive step forward, although challenges remain.

The framework of this deal was further bolstered by a statement on Saturday from U.S. President Donald Trump and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, indicating that the agreement would be formalized on Sunday. The agreement promises the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital passageway through which 20% of the world’s oil supply is transported.

A spokesperson from the Iranian Foreign Ministry remarked that the finalization of the deal could occur within the coming days, underscoring the urgency and importance of this diplomatic initiative.

While the deal marks a crucial step towards easing tensions, it does not resolve all outstanding disputes between Tehran and Washington. However, it establishes a 60-day period dedicated to technical discussions aimed at addressing these lingering issues, as noted by Pakistani officials involved in the negotiations.

The US would also end its blockade of Iranian-linked ships coming out of the strait.

Shipping traffic through the narrow sea passage — through which 20% of the world’s oil flowed before the war — has has slowed to a trickle.

The apparent break in the log jam comes as Israel’s military announced Sunday it had launched strikes on neighboring Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in the capital, Beirut.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the strikes were in response to Hezbollah attacks on the north of the country.

Tehran, which is Hezbollah’s main backer, last responded to Israeli strikes on Beirut with its own strikes on Israel last weekend.

Iran has also insisted previously that any US-Iran ceasefire must include an end to Israeli strikes on Lebanon.

Taylor Parker’s Shocking Pregnancy Hoax: The Fate of Her Children Following Her Murder Conviction

0

Taylor Parker, who gained notoriety for her involvement in the tragic case of Reagan Simmons Hancock, is not only known for her deception but also for being a mother. This complex figure is at the center of Netflix’s documentary Maternal Instinct, which explores her unsettling story.

Before her infamous relationship with Wade Griffin, a hog farmer, Parker was already a mother to a daughter and a son. Her relationship with Griffin quickly became serious, during which she convinced him she was expecting her third child. However, as revealed in the documentary, Parker had undergone a hysterectomy years prior, making it impossible for her to conceive.

Despite this, Parker orchestrated an elaborate ruse to appear pregnant, complete with a maternity shoot and a gender reveal celebration. Her deception took a dark turn when she entered Hancock’s home, brutally murdered her, and removed the baby from Hancock’s womb, intending to present the infant as her own, according to court documents.

Shortly after the heinous act, Parker was stopped by a Texas state trooper for erratic driving. She falsely claimed to have just given birth to the child, who tragically did not survive.

Now, Parker resides on death row in Texas, having been convicted of murder. But what became of the two children she had before meeting Griffin? Continue reading to uncover their fate.

Who Are Taylor Parker’s Children?

Parker was just 17 years old when she gave birth to a daughter she shared with then-boyfriend Donald Whiteside, according to the court records.

Parker’s mother Shonna Prior had only met Whiteside once, she testified during Parker’s sentencing hearing, adding that he was not involved in Parker’s life for long, KTAL reported.

The child’s aunt Jennifer Whiteside also took the stand during the trial, according to the news outlet, testifying that Parker briefly lived in a trailer on the Whiteside family’s compound during the pregnancy, but later moved out after she discovered he was cheating on her. At the time of her 2022 testimony, she told the court that he had never seen his daughter.

After the pair split up, Parker began dating her future husband Tommy Wacasey, according to the court records. When she was 21, she gave birth to a son she shared with Wacasey.

Why Did Taylor Parker Have a Hysterectomy?

During the pregnancy, she suffered from pre-eclampsia, a dangerous condition that can raise a mother’s blood pressure. As a result, Parker decided to get her tubes tied to prevent a future pregnancy, authorities said. Two years later, she got pregnant again, but due to the tubal ligation, she had an ectopic pregnancy and had to undergo surgery.

Doctors discovered she had “complex cysts and scarring from endometriosis,” according to court records, and while she was still under anesthesia, Wacasey and Prior made the decision for her to have a hysterectomy.

“At that point, you tell a surgeon to ‘do what you would do,’” Prior testified, according to KTAL. “Of course, Tommy told her Taylor was going to be upset about a hysterectomy. At that point, that wasn’t my concern. My concern was for the physician to do whatever she thought was necessary.”

What Was Taylor Parker Like As a Mother?

During Parker’s sentencing hearing, defense attorney Jeff Harrelson painted her as a caring mother, sharing photos of weekend trips, family gatherings and days at the pool, KTAL reported.

While her brother Zachary Morton also testified that Parker had been a good mother, he said she could be distracted when “she was chasing another man,” much like their own father.

“When dad was chasing other women or drugs, we were put on the back burner,” he testified, according to the news outlet. “It seemed like when Taylor was chasing another man, instead of the focus being on her children, it was on herself. It was all about her at one specific time.”

First Assistant District Attorney Kelley Crisp also criticized Parker’s parenting abilities after the court heard a jail call between Parker and her daughter in which she instructed the crying child not to talk to anyone about the murder allegations.

“She’s wanting to talk to her friend,” Crisp said, adding that it was “hard to wrap your mind around” why Parker wouldn’t let the then-12-year-old open up to anyone.

Prior testified the family had done their best to try to protect Parker’s daughter, even getting her a counselor shortly after the arrest.

“She does not know the horrific details,” Prior testified, per KTAL. “She knows that two people have died at the hands of her mother.”

Where are Taylor Parker’s Children Now?

Prior was granted custody of her granddaughter—who also continued to spend time with Wacasey’s family, according to the court testimony.

Wacasey testified during the legal proceedings, alleging to the court that Parker never paid child support or lived up to her visitation rights with their son, according to KSLA.

According to prosecutors, Parker owed more than $8,000 in child support.

Parker is awaiting execution on Texas Department of Correction’s O’Daniel Unit in Gatesville, Texas. No execution date has been set.

Malibu Serial Squatter Subject of New Docuseries Following Years of Homeowner Complaints

0

An alleged “serial squatter,” accused of exploiting California’s tenant-friendly rental regulations to the distress of Malibu residents, is now under the spotlight in a new docuseries on Hulu.

Ellie Mae McNulty, who has been the subject of numerous complaints over the years, features prominently in the second episode of Hulu’s docuseries “Squatters: Get the F*** Out of My House,” aptly titled “The Paradise of Malibu.”

The show chronicles how McNulty, a British actress and screenwriter, reportedly charmed her way into people’s homes and then refused to leave, causing turmoil for the homeowners.

This gripping series, produced by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, presents a dramatic clash between desperate property owners and the cunning individuals occupying their homes, making for an intense and emotional narrative.

Among her alleged victims is Alden Marin, an artist battling stage IV cancer, who reportedly allowed McNulty to stay in his home during the fall of 2021, only to become one of her many targets.

McNulty allegedly told Marin she only needed to crash for a few days while her own home was being finished. But the short stay stretched into a month, and the once-polite guest turned rude, demanding and increasingly hostile, according to Vanity Fair.

At Marin’s home, McNulty allegedly used his credit cards, changed the locks while he was hospitalized and flushed cloth napkins down the toilet, clogging the pipes, Vanity Fair reported. She also allegedly demanded as much as $20,000 to leave.

“She saw in my brother a kind of perfect storm,” Alden’s sister, Mindy Marin, told Vanity Fair. “She has this actressy English thing about her. Super flirty. She’s just got it down—especially the men—by being this English rose.”

McNulty has disputed Marin’s account, claiming he had the locks changed while her possessions were still inside the residence, according to the magazine.

At the center is California’s laws which allow guests, even those who do not pay rent, to be treated as tenants after a certain period of occupancy, making it difficult for homeowners to immediately remove unwanted houseguests.

Marin ultimately hauled McNulty to court in 2022, and a judge ordered her to vacate, according to Vanity Fair.

Marin’s sister, Mindy Marin, later uncovered more than 10 legal cases involving McNulty going back nearly two decades, with the most recent tied to residents around Point Dume, the outlet reported.

Her alleged past victims included an 80-something Santa Monica widow, a yoga teacher who said McNulty stiffed her on rent and classes, and others who claimed the accused squatter used California’s tenant protections to drag out her stays, according to Vanity Fair.

News Media has reached out McNulty for comment.

Revive and Reimagine: The Untold Potential of Gene Roddenberry’s Overlooked Sci-Fi Gem

0

Gene Roddenberry, the visionary mastermind behind Star Trek, was far more than a single-franchise success in television. While he continued to cultivate the Star Trek universe, Roddenberry’s creative endeavors extended beyond, including the development of various pilots and projects throughout his career. After his passing in 1991, his widow, Majel Barrett, took up the mantle to bring one of his lesser-known projects to life. The result was “Earth: Final Conflict,” a science fiction series that found success but has since slipped into obscurity.

Majel Barrett, serving as one of the show’s producers, ensured that her late husband’s vision was realized. “Earth: Final Conflict” captivated audiences with its unique narrative, running for five seasons and producing 110 episodes. The series explores the arrival of an alien race in the 21st century, initially perceived as allies to humanity but eventually revealing more sinister motives. This plot sets the stage for a modern reboot, ideally with a darker and more intense tone to resonate with today’s audiences.

During its original run, “Earth: Final Conflict” managed to evoke a palpable sense of suspense and tension, though it sometimes fell short in conveying the gravity of its storyline. The oversight of Earth’s populace by malevolent extraterrestrials should be a premise steeped in depth and intensity. A contemporary adaptation focusing on a grittier narrative could place the series alongside successful modern sci-fi reboots, akin to the reimagining of “Battlestar Galactica.”

The core of “Earth: Final Conflict” centers on the Taelons, an alien species that arrives on Earth offering miraculous cures for diseases, presenting themselves as altruistic saviors. However, their true intentions slowly come into question, sparking a resistance against them. This intriguing setup provided a solid foundation for the series, yet internal turmoil and frequent cast changes hindered its potential, leading to its premature cancellation.

Despite its initial success, “Earth: Final Conflict” faded from public memory, much like the original “Battlestar Galactica” from 1978. That series also struggled before finding renewed acclaim with a darker, more sophisticated reboot in 2004. By adapting a similar approach, “Earth: Final Conflict” could potentially capture the imagination of a new generation, revitalizing its legacy within the ever-expanding landscape of science fiction.

Earth: Final Conflict wasn’t as successful as it would be today

The premise of “Earth: Final Conflict” involves the arrival of aliens known as Taelons. With their help, all diseases are cured, and the seemingly benevolent aliens appear like they’re only in it to help the people of Earth. But as time passes, they come to be perceived as nefarious, leading to a resistance movement.

The series was successful in that it aired for five seasons, but behind the scenes, there were problems as one cast member left after another, resulting in high character turnover. This hampered character development and ultimately resulted in the show’s cancellation, as the series wasn’t able to live up to its potential. Since going off the air, “Earth: Final Conflict” has largely been forgotten. The same was true of the original “Battlestar Galactica” from 1978. That series failed to succeed and was mostly lost amidst a massive landscape of sci-fi pop culture until a much darker reboot hit the small screen in 2004. The show was an incredible success, thanks largely to how it was updated for a 21st-century audience.

Modern audiences prefer darker, more violent shows with greater stakes, and “Earth: Final Conflict” has a narrative structure to make that work. The premise is filled with subterfuge, hidden dangers, and massive conspiracies, all of which make for compelling 21st-century television. Showrunners could use “Battlestar Galactica” as a guide, or even a template, in how to structure a modern remake of “Earth: Final Conflict,” leaning heavily into the more nefarious aspects of a seemingly benevolent alien overlord’s true intentions on the human population.

What a darker reboot of Earth: Final Conflict could look like

A significant reason why sci-fi shows succeed is that they often focus on whatever is happening during the time they air. One might lean heavily into politics and societal issues, while another tackles recent events and cultural intolerance. “Earth: Final Conflict” did this well, but we no longer live in the same world of 1997 to 2002. Society has shifted considerably, so a reboot would need to cover societal issues like LGBTQ+ rights, nationalism, anti-immigrant hostilities, racial tensions, and much more.

This is possible with a reboot modeled after the success of “Battlestar Galactica.” That series took the paranoia of the early 2000s, brought about by the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the Global War on Terror, and tapped directly into it. That’s one of the reasons why it resonated with fans and made it somehow relatable, and “Earth: Final Conflict” could do the same thing. Granted, some changes to the original concept would need to be made, similar to the rebooted “Battlestar Galactica” — but ultimately, that’s what a reboot is. It’s not the same thing with new actors — it’s a new way of looking at the same premise.

Leaning heavily into a more sinister alien species, greater stakes, and high-concept sci-fi is what the modern audience craves. Unfortunately, there are no plans as of writing about rebooting “Earth: Final Conflict.” Fortunately, in the meantime, you can still watch every episode of “Earth: Final Conflict” on Amazon Video.

Daddy Freeze Questions Dress Code Choices at Service of Songs: ‘Isn’t This a Time for Mourning?

  • Media personality Daddy Freeze has sparked fresh debate online after reacting to criticism over his choice of outfit at the service of songs held for late actor Alexx Ekubo’s father.
  • He expressed surprise that the event had a dress code, saying he believed it was purely a mourning ceremony.

Media personality Daddy Freeze has sparked an online debate following criticism over his choice of attire at the service of songs for the late father of actor Alexx Ekubo.

The controversy erupted after it was reported that guests were expected to dress in all-white for the occasion. However, Daddy Freeze attended the event in black, attracting attention and sparking conversations both at the venue and on social media.

In response to the criticism, Daddy Freeze remarked, “I believed we were mourning a young man who passed away prematurely. His death was a result of Nigeria’s systemic failures and religious influences. I was unaware that a service of songs required a specific dress code.”

His comments have ignited a heated discussion online, as many users weigh in on whether mourning events should adhere to formal dress codes or allow for more personal expressions of grief.

His statement has since triggered mixed reactions online as users debated whether mourning events should follow strict dress codes or remain informal expressions of grief.

@EkyDorlyn
In Nigeria burial is now a full time ceremony instead of mourning the deceased

@IamtheOYE
Imagine dress code for service of songs…Nigerian celebrities will whine you but no panic..! All of them, fake fake fake,I repeat fake fake!!

@Ehys__
There is something called protocol, when the family agreed to do it, the personal feelings don’t matter, he is an asshole

@zatas70
Those Nollywood Actors turned the whole thing into fashion parade which was unnecessary

@HeIsSommyApril
He’s stupid for saying this.

Y’all were asked to come mourn in an all white attire and you came putting on a black cloth.

I’m sure he must have felt foolish looking how everyone turned up with white and he was looking way different.

Discover Local Agriculture: ARC&D’s 7th Annual Farm Tour Transforms Washington and Greene Counties

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Appalachian Resource Conservation and Development (ARC&D) Council recently hosted its 7th annual regional farm tour, inviting guests to explore the agricultural landscape of Washington and Greene Counties. This initiative, in collaboration with 20 local farms, aimed to offer insights into the daily realities of farm life.

For a fee of $25 per vehicle, attendees could visit their preferred farms throughout the day, immersing themselves in various farming operations. This hands-on experience provided an opportunity to understand both the hurdles and the fulfilling aspects of working in agriculture.

“The tour introduces people to farms they might have never visited before,” remarked Ashley Cavender, the Food Access Director at ARC&D. “It highlights the tough yet rewarding nature of farming and underscores the significant contributions farmers make to the community.”

Among the participants was Kelsey Hodges, a recent property owner in the area, who took her children on the tour to gain insights into farming and animal husbandry.

“We discovered the farm tour and decided to explore various farming techniques, learn about different animal species, and get a glimpse into the farming lifestyle,” Hodges shared.

One of the featured stops was Rocky Creek Highlands, a six-year-old farm home to 28 Highland cattle. Owner Jim Clifton said the event provides an opportunity to share both successes and lessons learned with aspiring farmers and community members.

“Our giving back is participating with this,” Clifton said. “So, people around the community who don’t necessarily they may want to farm, but they don’t know how to get started or whatever, they can come out, pet a Highland, kind of get familiar with it. We’ll kind of tell them about things that we’ve done right, things we’ve definitely done wrong and kind of help them kind of go from there.”

Another participating farm, A Different Chick and Orchard, opened its greenhouses to visitors, offering demonstrations on growing produce and managing pesticide challenges.

Owner Tiffany Stanley said she hopes the tour raises awareness about the importance of preserving farmland in the region.

“I hope that it brings awareness to the areas,” Stanley said. “There’s a whole lot of farmlands that’s bought up every single year in our area. Hopefully, through Appalachian RC&D and the farm tours, people will learn that farms are important and they are right here in the rural and urban areas, also. And you can farm on large areas and on small areas.”

Cavender told News Channel 11 that 60 vehicles participated in this year’s event, a double from last year. The Appalachian RC&D Council hosts the Regional Farm Tour annually each June.

Hailey Bieber celebrated the Knicks win from home and uploaded a photo of her thrilled reaction to the victory.

Other pals could be seen embracing while another friend shared a hug with the Rhode founder.

Rachel Zegler also took to her Instagram stories to share a blurry picture of her excitedly celebrating the big win.

The Knicks victory is the team’s first NBA Championship win in 53 years.

Trailing by 16 points in the third quarter, Knicks captain Jalen Brunson led the fourth-quarter rally to clinch New York’s first title since 1973 and just the third in franchise history with the 94-90 win.

Fireworks shot off in New York within mere seconds of the final horn in San Antonio as long-suffering Knicks fans vented 53 years of frustration.

Brunson would win MVP honors after his 45-point effort – the most any Knicks player scored in a Finals game since another famous team captain, Willis Reed, dropped 38 in Game 3 of the 1970 series.

Remarkably, the Knicks trailed in the final two minutes of each of the series’ first four games, three of which they still managed to win, including their historic 29-point comeback on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.

Coach Mike Brown and his players celebrated the win with a chorus of ‘Who Let the Dogs Out?’ But nothing could match the euphoric pandemonium sweeping the streets of New York.

Once again, the Knicks hosted their own watch parties, although only 3,000 ticketed fans were permitted within the NYPD’s ‘frozen zone’ around the arena.

Meanwhile, attendees at Radio City Music Hall watched on big screen televisions for $10 per person, while countless locals gathered around outdoor TVs along the city’s sidewalks and alleys.

And then there were the city’s designated outdoor areas, like Central Park, where thousands watched their Knicks make history on enormous projection screens.

‘I have no words,’ Brunson told ABC as post-game celebrations raged in San Antonio and New York. ‘It’s everything I ever dreamed of.’

His current teammates, fellow Villanova Wildcats and long-time friends Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart added 14 and 13 points, respectively.

The trio of ‘Nova Knicks’ won an NCAA title together in 2017 before Brunson and Bridges returned to capture another with the Wildcats two years later.

Despite his history of success, though, Brunson was at a loss for words while celebrating his first NBA crown on Saturday.

‘I don’t know what I’m feeling,’ Brunson said. ‘I’m in awe. Whenever someone counted us out, we found a way to come back and do something about it.’

Kim Kardashian Appears in Public Adorned with Bandages After Recent Injury

Kim Kardashian encountered an injury shortly after participating in the Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week.

The 43-year-old reality star was seen with a bandaged finger while dining at Costes in the heart of Paris on Sunday.

Despite her injury, Kim exuded style by embracing a mob wife aesthetic, clad in a striking animal print fur coat.

Emerging from TikTok’s whirlwind of micro-trends, this mob wife look has taken over the previous year’s minimalist style, offering a bold and extravagant flair characterized by signature designer logos, animal prints, and luxurious fur coats.

Her luxurious, floor-length coat, complemented by a striking blood-red manicure, boasted dramatic lapels and was cinched with a robust leather belt.

She finished off her power look with a pair of oversized statement sunglasses and her typical slick back bun.

As Kim stepped out of her blacked-out Mercedes, she flashed her latest preferred footwear as she flaunted a pair of sock-styled stilettos.

Earlier on Sunday Kim led the arrivals to the star-studded Balenciaga show during Paris Fashion Week.

The icon flaunted her hourglass physique in a figure-hugging black lace dress as she posed up a storm heading to watch the runway show.

She looked great in the chic number which cinched her in at the waist and had a sexy low scooped back design.

Kim wore her dark tresses in a sleek pony tail and opted for a typically glamorous makeup look for the event.

It comes after earlier this year Kim was blasted by fans after revealing she has become an ambassador for Balenciaga, one year after the brand faced controversy for an advert featuring children and BDSM items.

The reality TV star announced her partnership with the label, helmed by creative director Demna Gvasalia, in January.

The mother-of-four previously refused to cut ties with the fashion house but said she was ‘shaken and disgusted’ by the images which sparked a backlash against the brand.

After announcing her new partnership many fans were left disappointed by the decision and hit back at her statement, in which she wrote that her relationship with the brand was built on a ‘commitment to doing what’s right.’

‘Of all the brands, she had to choose the one with child abuse allegations. Not even surprised though…’ one person wrote, while another branded her a ‘hypocrite’ adding, ‘Money is all that matters to her.’

Another person accused Kim of throwing her ‘morals out of the window’ for money, while someone else added, ‘Anything for money and a higher net worth I guess.’

‘Where’s she gonna keep all the money and fame when she’s gone?’

‘So we forgot about the kid bondage thing? lol’ one commentator inquired.

‘But Kim this company does everything BUT what’s right,’ another added in reference to her statement.

The comments continued to roll in, with another one asking: ‘So Kim just forgetting what Balenciaga advertised with the children?? K.’

‘Has she learned nothing?’ someone else asked.

‘Even after the scandal?’ another Twitter user asked.

One comment simply read: ‘Girl…. Embarrassing.’

Others called the SKIMS founder out for hypocritical behavior: ‘So basically she said f**k Balenciaga when they were getting backlash but now that its safe for her brand she’s back??’

Many others hit out against the brand, calling it ‘trash’ and ‘canceled.’

Kim’s full statement about becoming an ambassador for the brand read: ‘For several years now, Balenciaga’s designs have been a part of my many looks – and some of my most iconic fashion moments.’

‘This historic fashion house embraces modernity, craftsmanship and takes an innovative approach to design under Demna.’

‘For me, this long-standing relationship is built on mutual trust and a commitment to doing what’s right. I’m excited about this next chapter for the brand and to become their ambassador.’
