Ranked: All of Steven Spielberg’s Sci-Fi Films, Featuring the Latest ‘Disclosure Day

0

Renowned director Steven Spielberg has profoundly influenced the world of cinema over more than fifty years. His impressive portfolio includes iconic historical dramas, fantasies, and action-adventure films, but his most significant impact has arguably been in the realm of science fiction.

Spielberg’s imaginative prowess, alongside his trusted collaborators, has enabled him to create numerous unforgettable depictions of worlds beyond our reality. His films often explore profound truths about life among the stars and technological advancements, examining how characters navigate these new realities. Spielberg has a knack for introducing an otherworldly premise that seems straightforward, only to deliver an unexpected emotional twist that reshapes the audience’s perspective.

The upcoming release of “Disclosure Day” in 2026 adds another chapter to Spielberg’s storied sci-fi legacy. Each of the ten films in this list offers a unique contribution to the genre, highlighting the director’s exceptional ability to maintain high standards. Remarkably, only one film might be considered a misstep. Based on our experiences with Spielberg’s work, we present a ranking of his sci-fi films.

In “Ready Player One,” Spielberg brings Ernest Cline’s popular novel to life, portraying a world mired in dystopia where people escape into the virtual reality of the OASIS. The story kicks off with the death of the socially awkward tech mogul James Halliday (played by Mark Rylance), who leaves behind a series of challenges within his digital creation. The stakes rise when young Gunter Wade Watts, aka Parzival (Tye Sheridan), discovers the first key, attracting the attention of fellow Gunters like Art3mis (Olivia Cooke) and the ruthless tech CEO Nolan Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn).

Although “Ready Player One” promises a “Willy Wonka”-like adventure with endless possibilities, it falls short of delivering pure imagination. Despite Spielberg’s deep ties to pop culture, the film’s potential is overshadowed by a deluge of references disguised as social commentary. These so-called “Easter eggs” dominate every frame, leaving little room for genuine exploration of the story’s themes. Now available on HBO Max, “Ready Player One” showcases both the promise and pitfalls of Spielberg’s approach to adapting beloved material.

10. Ready Player One

In “Ready Player One,” the big screen adaptation of Ernest Cline’s best-selling novel, the world is in such a dystopian state of affairs that everyone finds solace within the virtual reality realm known as the OASIS. The death of awkward tech billionaire James Halliday (Mark Rylance) comes with a series of challenges he’s strewn throughout his digital creation that literally holds the keys to unlocking its future owner. The race start to heat up when teenage Gunter Wade Watts aka Parziva1 (Tye Sheridan) finds the first key, which draws a whole bunch of attention from Gunters like Art3mis (Olivia Cooke), as well as craven tech CEO Nolan Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn).

“Willy Wonka” in a world with limitless possibilities sounds like a slam dunk, but “Ready Player One” (now streaming on HBO Max) has anything but pure imagination. Steven Spielberg seems like a natural fit for the material, given how much he’s contributed to pop culture, and yet the potential of “Ready Player One” is trapped in an overbearing hodgepodge of references masquerading as social commentary. You can’t really call them Easter eggs when they occupy every space of the frame.

The film has very little interest in interrogating how dystopia keeps people trapped in a stunted state of nostalgia, and there’s something genuinely off-putting about a movie that utilizes the Iron Giant as a rock ’em, sock ’em fighting machine. The dichotomy between the real world and the OASIS is moot because they’re both similar shades of the same mucky grays, with the latter being an eyesore to look at on account of all the soulless CG sludge filling the screen.

9. Disclosure Day

Steven Spielberg’s latest foray into the world of extraterrestrial visitation seeks to reckon with the social ramifications of not being alone in the universe. Cybersecurity expert Daniel Kellner (Josh O’Connor) turns whistleblower after grappling with sensitive information regarding decades worth of secrets. At the same time, meteorologist Margaret Fairchild (Emily Blunt) suddenly starts speaking in multiple languages and peering into people’s inner lives with no clue as to how she’s doing it. The two share a common goal of global disclosure that pushes Wardex CEO Noah Scanlon (Colin Firth) to track them down before their paths cross.

In spite of its warm critical reception, “Disclosure Day” is a real mixed bag that feels at odds with itself. Spielberg’s striking imagery, coupled with the theme of humanity’s capacity for empathy, constantly clashes against a haphazardly constructed screenplay from David Koepp that doesn’t do them a whole lot of justice. The concept of how different institutions would respond to the proof of alien life largely goes unexplored in favor of a frictionless conspiracy thriller that ironically kills the momentum. The truth is out there, but “Disclosure Day” is naively optimistic about its existence meaning much of anything in a post-truth landscape.

Blunt, however, is the film’s heart, and she gives a fantastic performance as a woman tormented by being thrust into something larger than herself. She’s complimented by another beautiful score from John Williams, who still knows how to musically tug on our heartstrings. You can admire Spielberg’s ambitions of revisiting his filmography through a more seasoned perspective, even if the end result bites off more than it can chew.

8. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

It was always going to be an uphill battle to follow the perfect finale that was “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,” but that didn’t stop Steven Spielberg and George Lucas from trying. The fourth installment in the series sees an aging Indy (Harrison Ford) embroiled in a plot devised by KGB Agent Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett) to wield the mythical crystal skull for the benefit of the Soviet Union. But cinema’s most beloved archeologist doesn’t intend on making it easy for them, while also reconnecting with his son Mutt (Shia LaBeouf) and former love Marian Ravenwood (Karen Allen) on a globe-trotting quest to learn the secrets of the skull.

2008’s “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” (available on Paramount+) received a lot of vitriol from fans for diminishing the series, when that honor really goes to 2023’s lumbering “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.” While there’s plenty to criticize, like the dodgy CGI, its biggest crime is merely being an okay “Indiana Jones” movie.

It’s a blast to watch Ford play the titular character like a tired old man who still has that spirit of adventure in him. The sci-fi angle, involving the skulls belonging to interdimensional beings that look like Roswell-era extraterrestrials, is a pretty fun twist to the formula. Indy always comes across a cosmic power that blows the universe wide open, so it’s an inspired decision that takes the series in a different direction that plays on the alien craze of the 1950s.

7. The Lost World: Jurassic Park

Set four years after the first film, 1997’s “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” sees Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) reluctantly returning to the realm of dinosaurs after discovering that John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) has recruited his paleontologist girlfriend Dr. Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore) to observe the free range creatures. But upon arriving at Isla Sorna (otherwise known as Site B), Ian encounters a terrible plot by greedy InGen CEO Peter Ludlow (Arliss Howard) to transport the island’s dino population to the United States for a more contained re-do of Hammond’s vision. It goes about as well as you would expect.

While undoubtedly inferior to its beloved 1993 predecessor, “The Lost World” (which can be streamed on Peacock) is a good sequel that makes enough tweaks that it doesn’t come across as a rehash. It’s fun to put Goldblum in the driver’s seat this time around, and he does a great job of expanding upon his character. Even secondary players like Pete Postlethwaite’s Roland Tembo and Richard Schiff’s Eddie Carr are given room to make an impression. Set pieces like the cliffside trailer attack and the raptors in the grass are exceptionally tense and memorable, as is the “King Kong”-inspired finale that sees a T-Rex rampaging through the streets of San Diego.

The biggest issue with “The Lost World” is that it follows the greatest dinosaur movie of all time, so anything that follows is bound to be seen as lesser in comparison. Yet, it remains the best “Jurassic Park” sequel because it takes the series into even darker territory that explicitly shows the horrors of capturing wild animals for capitalistic purposes.

6. Jurassic Park

Based on the Michael Crichton novel, Steven Spielberg’s 1993 adaptation of “Jurassic Park” single-handedly made dinosaurs an even bigger pop culture phenomenon than they already were. The fun begins when Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and Dr. Ian Malcolm are all invited to John Hammond’s immersive theme park as a test to see if it’s ready to open to the public. Upon their arrival, they’re greeted by a miracle of scientific innovation: cloned, living dinosaurs in all their glory. Ethical concerns arise, but everything appears like it’s in good shape — until corporate malfeasance brings the park to its knees in just a couple of hours, ensuring a battle for survival as all of the prehistoric creatures are let loose on Isla Nublar.

Now streaming on Peacock, “Jurassic Park” became one of the most rewatchable sci-fi movies ever made for a good reason. It boasts a stacked cast, an iconic John Williams score, and a tight screenplay from David Koepp. But above all else, it’s one of the most impressive leaps in the advancement of visual effects in film history.

Stan Winston’s animatronics, coupled with the strides made by the folks at ILM with computer-generated imagery, made it feel like you were witnessing the rebirth of humanity’s predecessors. Over three decades later, they still look as jaw-droppingly real as ever. Their presence inspires the same kind of awe that Spielberg has built his career around, with the special effects serving the story rather than the other way around. The fact that “Jurassic Park” just misses our top five shows how prolific and extraordinary a filmmaker he is.

5. Minority Report

Of the many book-to-screen adaptations of Philip K. Dick’s work, Steven Spielberg’s “Minority Report” (now streaming on Paramount+) ranks among the best of them. It takes place in the not-too-distant future of 2054, where Washington D.C. has set up a special police division called precrime, built around preventing a crime before it’s even happened. Its success is dependent on three clairvoyants (otherwise known as precogs) whose collective flashes of the future put the puzzle pieces together in order to make a timely arrest.

The system is thrown into disarray when precrime chief John Anderton (Tom Cruise) is greeted by a harrowing vision of a man he’s supposedly destined to kill, in spite of not knowing who he is. From there, he becomes embroiled in a conspiracy that questions the program’s legitimacy, as well as his place in its implementation.

In the almost quarter century since its 2002 release, “Minority Report” joins the ranks of sci-fi movies that got the future right with its timely commentary on the surveillance state and how high-ranking institutions will warp it to get the results they want. Cruise is excellent as a man on the run whose intellect narrowly gets him out of scrapes, despite his pursuers having all the state-of-the-art tech at their disposal to hunt him down. While the action sequences are undoubtedly thrilling, this film is at its best as a cyberpunk tech noir mystery that provides no easy answers.

4. War of the Worlds

The 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers left America, and by extension American cinema, in a strange place, with images of unthinkable violence fueled by anger, terror, and paranoia arriving at our doorsteps. This certainly extends to Steven Spielberg’s 2005 adaptation of H.G. Wells’ “War of the Worlds” (now streaming on Paramount+), which sees alien intruders launching a full-scale invasion of the planet through their towering war machine tripods.

Instead of witnessing the sneak attack through a global lens, the film follows its escalation through the eyes of dockworker Ray Ferrier (Tom Cruise) as he attempts to protect his children Rachel (Dakota Fanning) and Robbie (Justin Chatwin) from the awe-inspiring scope of destruction. Depicting the conflict from a ground-level view is a genius move on Spielberg’s part that does wonders in making you feel like you’re experiencing the destruction from a human perspective.

Spielberg’s longtime cinematographer Janusz Kaminski does some career-best work here by imbuing this monumental event through a hazy glow that has a purposefully disorienting effect. The aliens’ reign of destruction is terrifying to watch as they either brutally disintegrate people or capture them as fertilizer for their new world. It’s fascinating to see the seemingly indestructible Cruise giving an intimate performance here as a neglectful father desperate to step up for his children, who have all but lost their faith in him. “War of the Worlds” remains an excellent piece of sci-fi terror that emphasizes our actions in moments of crisis, and whether it’s worth losing our humanity to stay alive.

3. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

Think of how astounding it is that Steven Spielberg followed up one of the greatest action-adventure movies ever made (“Raiders of the Lost Ark”) the following year with “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” which has since gone on to become one of the most influential sci-fi movies of all time.

On the surface, the 1982 film is about a 10-year-old boy named Elliott (Henry Thomas) who befriends a lovable alien, and helps him find his way home before governmental interference prevents his escape. But it’s more compelling as a coming–of-age tale about a child of divorce who finds a renewed interest in life by ultimately becoming the father figure he wishes he had. This is accentuated by Thomas giving a spectacular performance that’s well beyond his years. He brings a combination of childish wonder and aching emotional maturity to the role that still evokes a strong reaction.

The fact that Spielberg can make you feel so much love and empathy for this practical-effects creature is one of many reasons why “E.T.” is one of his best movies. Many have attempted to recreate its various iconographies with varying levels of success, yet no one has been able to truly meet the master on his level. Let’s also not forget composer John Williams providing one of the most affecting scores ever, let alone in his career. The rhythmic subtleties in the first half become otherworldly in the second, as it underscores one of the most emotionally impactful endings in film history.

2. Close Encounters of the Third Kind

It’s the dead of night, and an electric lineman named Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfuss) quietly sits in his truck, unaware that the burning lights of a UFO are about to change his life forever. His familial responsibilities fall by the wayside in favor of a mania that overtakes him in an effort to understand why he feels the way he does. It turns out that Roy’s rendezvous with extraterrestrial life is one of many incidents taking place around the world, as further sightings set the stage for first contact with the mysterious beings.

Steven Spielberg’s “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” (now streaming on the Criterion Channel) is a seminal piece of ’70s sci-fi that presents first contact through the marriage of light, sound, and mystery. It still persists because you’re never quite sure how to feel about life that comes to us from beyond the stars, yet it’s incredibly overwhelming nonetheless.

The easiest answers Spielberg allows are emotional ones, and even those are complicated at their core. You really can’t underestimate how majestic those last 30 minutes are, and Roy’s neglectfulness is much more understandable through the film’s dark fairy tale subtext. Spielberg has later said that he wouldn’t have Roy leave his family in the wake of becoming a father himself, but then it wouldn’t be the same movie. Art is an inherent expression of how we view the world at the time we made it, and as his subsequent work would show, Spielberg has always reckoned painfully with the fragility of the family unit.

1. A.I. Artifical Intelligrence

“A.I. Artificial Intelligence” (now streaming for free on Pluto TV) revolves around David (Haley Joel Osment), an intelligent android that physically resembles an 11-year-old child. He’s initially implemented as a replacement for a family whose son is in a state of suspended animation. David is programmed with the ability to feel unconditional love even though he doesn’t quite understand what it means. When the family decides to abandon him, David sets off on a centuries-spanning emotional odyssey that takes him to the edge of existence in the pursuit of becoming a real boy and securing his adoptive mother’s affection.

The looming threat of artificial intelligence has become way too big to ignore as it seeps its way into our daily infrastructure, as well as our art. Everyone has immediate access to a leap in technological advancement with capabilities that we’ve barely scratched the surface in understanding. It’s this, among many other aspects, that not only makes Steven Spielberg’s “A.I.” the best sci-fi film he’s ever made, but one of the most prescient films of the 21st century.

His bleak, yet overwhelmingly moving sci-fi twist on “Pinocchio” was his way of honoring his friend Stanley Kubrick, with whom he had been developing the project for years. While “A.I.” received its share of critical acclaim in 2001, it’s only been reappraised over the past couple of years as a special outlier in Spielberg’s filmography that reveals the spectrum of humanity’s strengths and weaknesses over the span of 146 minutes.

Unveiling the Hidden Dangers: How Cannabis for Sleep Can Lead to Dependency and Disrupt Your Rest

For countless individuals, cannabis has emerged as an informal remedy for sleepless nights. However, while it seems like a quick fix, it might be subtly exacerbating the issue.

Take these scenarios as examples:

A 15-year-old girl has been tossing and turning for over an hour. It’s well past midnight, and her mind refuses to settle. With her school bus arriving at 6:20 a.m., she feels the pressure of needing to wake up in just a few hours. Despite following the usual advice—shutting off her phone by 10 p.m. and trying out melatonin—sleep remains elusive. Tonight, she opts for a friend’s suggestion: a cannabis gummy. Within 20 minutes, she’s fast asleep.

Revitalize Your Core: 4 Standing Exercises to Trim Apron Belly for Those Over 50

0

Is an apron belly causing discomfort after 50? Consider incorporating these four standing exercises into your routine.

An apron belly, which hangs over the midsection, can alter how your waistline feels during daily activities. While crunches are great for strengthening your abs, achieving a flatter stomach post-50 typically requires a more comprehensive approach. You’ll need exercises that boost your heart rate, engage large muscle groups, and encourage core contraction while you’re in motion.

Although the idea of spot reduction is appealing, fat loss is a holistic process. Changes in the lower belly occur as overall body fat decreases through regular exercise, strength training, and a diet that encourages a calorie deficit. Core exercises remain crucial because stronger abs, obliques, hips, and deep core muscles contribute to a firmer and more supported midsection as your body composition improves.

To achieve these goals, I recommend standing exercises that combine conditioning and strength. Jogging intervals are excellent for boosting calorie burn. Med ball front slams engage your core and develop power. Dumbbell push presses work your legs, shoulders, arms, and midsection simultaneously. Walking lunges enhance lower-body strength while also improving balance and posture. These exercises provide a more comprehensive workout than crunches alone.

For this goal, I like standing exercises that blend conditioning and strength. Jogging intervals help increase calorie burn. Med ball front slams bring power and core engagement. Dumbbell push presses target your legs, shoulders, arms, and midsection in a single movement. Walking lunges build lower-body strength while challenging balance and posture. Together, they give you more total-body work than crunches alone.

Jogging Intervals

Jogging intervals help flatten an apron belly by increasing calorie burn and improving conditioning in a simple, repeatable way. Short bursts of jogging raise your heart rate, while walking recoveries keep the workout manageable. Your core also stays active as you hold posture, control your stride, and keep your hips steady. Compared with crunches, jogging intervals create more total-body demand, which supports the fat-loss side of changing your midsection.

Muscles Trained: Glutes, hamstrings, quadriceps, calves, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Start with 3 to 5 minutes of easy walking.
  2. Increase your pace to a light jog.
  3. Hold the jog for 20 to 60 seconds.
  4. Slow back down to a walk for 60 to 90 seconds.
  5. Repeat the interval pattern for your planned time.
  6. Finish with a few minutes of easy walking.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 8 to 12 rounds of 20 to 60 seconds of jogging. Rest for 60 to 90 seconds of walking between rounds.

Best Variations: Walk-jog intervals, incline treadmill intervals, brisk walking intervals.

Form Tip: Keep your stride short, land softly, and stay tall through your torso.

Med Ball Front Slams

Med ball front slams train your core, shoulders, lats, hips, and legs while adding a powerful conditioning punch. Raising the ball overhead and slamming it down forces your midsection to brace, transfer force, and control your trunk. The movement also quickly raises your heart rate, making it a strong option for body-composition goals. Each rep should feel athletic and controlled, with your whole body helping to create the slam rather than relying only on your arms.

Muscles Trained: Core, shoulders, lats, glutes, quadriceps.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart and hold a medicine ball.
  2. Brace your core and lift the ball overhead.
  3. Rise slightly onto your toes as you reach tall.
  4. Drive the ball down toward the floor with power.
  5. Squat down to pick the ball back up.
  6. Reset your posture before the next rep.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 12 reps. Rest for 45 to 60 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Lighter speed slams, heavier power slams, rotational slams.

Form Tip: Slam with your hips, core, and upper body working together.

Dumbbell Push Press

Dumbbell push presses target your legs, glutes, shoulders, triceps, and core in a single, powerful movement. Your legs help drive the weights overhead, and your abs brace hard to keep your ribs and pelvis stacked as the dumbbells move. This provides greater muscle engagement than crunches and helps build the lean strength that supports a firmer midsection. Use a weight you can control, and make every rep smooth from the dip to the overhead finish.

Muscles Trained: Shoulders, triceps, quadriceps, glutes, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart and hold dumbbells at shoulder height.
  2. Brace your core and keep your chest lifted.
  3. Bend your knees slightly into a small dip.
  4. Drive through your legs to help press the dumbbells overhead.
  5. Lock out your arms while keeping your ribs down.
  6. Lower the dumbbells back to shoulder height with control.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 6 to 10 reps. Rest for 60 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Single-arm push press, strict dumbbell press, lighter tempo push press.

Form Tip: Use your legs to start the press and keep your core tight as the weights finish overhead.

Walking Lunges

Walking lunges target your glutes, quads, hamstrings, hips, and core as you move forward one step at a time. Your legs create the main strength work, and your midsection keeps your torso steady as your weight shifts. This makes lunges a great choice for flattening an apron belly because they combine lower-body muscle work with balance, posture, and calorie burn. Stronger lunges also support walking, stairs, and everyday movement after 50.

Muscles Trained: Glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, hips, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Step forward with one leg into a lunge.
  3. Lower your back knee toward the floor with control.
  4. Press through your front foot to step forward.
  5. Repeat on the opposite leg.
  6. Continue alternating sides with a steady posture.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps per leg. Rest for 45 to 60 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Reverse lunges, assisted walking lunges, shorter-step lunges.

Form Tip: Keep your torso tall and drive through your whole front foot.

What Helps Apron Belly Change After 50

Flattening an apron belly works best with a blend of calorie-burning movement, muscle-building strength work, and core engagement. These standing exercises engage more of your body than crunches, giving you a stronger overall effect. Keep the routine consistent, use versions that fit your body, and pair your workouts with nutrition habits that support steady fat loss.

  • Use intervals with purpose: Jogging intervals can quickly increase calorie burn. Keep the pace challenging enough to work, while still smooth enough to repeat consistently.
  • Train big muscles often: Push presses and walking lunges involve your legs, hips, shoulders, arms, and core. More muscle involvement gives each session more impact.
  • Make your core brace during movement: Slams, push presses, and lunges teach your abs to support your body while you move. Stronger bracing helps your midsection feel firmer.
  • Keep nutrition aligned with the goal: A flatter stomach comes from overall fat loss. Protein, smart portions, and consistent meals help your training show up in your results.
  • Choose repeatable effort: The best routine fits your week. A few strong sessions done consistently will move the needle better than a plan that feels too aggressive to maintain.

Crunches can still be part of a core routine, but these standing exercises give your body more reasons to change. Build around movement, strength, and steady effort, and your midsection gets the support it needs to look and feel firmer.

Unveiling the Real Story Behind Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson’s Surprising Split

0

Megan Thee Stallion didn’t hold back her feelings when she recently accused Klay Thompson of being a “cheater” on social media. The rapper made the surprising announcement that their relationship had ended.

In an Instagram Story shared in April, the 31-year-old “Savage” artist claimed that the professional basketball player had been unfaithful. She vented her frustration, saying, “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season.”

She continued, “Now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’???? b**** I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall.”

In response, a source close to the 36-year-old Thompson has shared new insights into the situation, revealing the derogatory remarks he allegedly made about Megan, casting doubt on his genuine feelings for her.

The insider commented, “He was over her and didn’t want to be with her. I think he wanted to break up with her for a while but just didn’t know how to do it.”

A second source, however, adamantly disputed the claim that the Dallas Mavericks star ever attempted to end the relationship, insisting: ‘Klay never once tried to break up with her.’

Thompson, 36, allegedly made mean remarks behind Megan’s back, accusing her of being ‘loud’ and ‘ghetto,’ according to an exclusive source

‘The reality is Megan ended the relationship after she discovered that Klay had been cheating on her,’ the insider further alleged.

The first source said they were made aware of Thompson trying to contact past flings before he and Megan officially split, but they were unable to confirm whether the NBA star ever cheated.

The relationship was seemingly doomed from the start, according to our first source, who described Thompson and Megan, real name Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, as two very different people – with the athlete allegedly making that known to those close to him.

They claimed Thompson has talked badly about Megan behind her back, including secretly expressing disdain for how ‘loud’ the WAP rapper can be.

‘He was like, “She was just so ghetto. I was over the ghettoness,”‘ the insider alleged. ‘The way she speaks, the way she acts.’

Thompson, who has been a professional basketball player since 2011, has a reputation for being introverted off the court; the first source even went so far as to describe him as ‘awkward’ at times.

When he went public with his romance with Megan in July 2025, fans online questioned whether this was a case of opposites attract or a mismatched pairing, given the Hot Girl Summer rapper is known for her outgoing personality.

One such example is the viral video from her inaugural Pete and Thomas foundation gala which showed Megan happily singing along to a performer, while Thompson simply nodded beside her. The clip sparked online buzz about whether the couple was built to last.

Thompson allegedly also had an issue with the rap superstar's busy career schedule

A second source said, 'It’s hypocritical for Klay to complain about her work ethic'

Despite their starkly different personalities, we were told Thompson eventually developed real feelings and wanted to make it work because he wants marriage and kids.

The first source said the shooting guard even purchased a larger, multimillion dollar property that he and Megan were supposed to live in together.

However, that insider claimed that Thompson often felt lonely when he was at the lavish residence because the Grammy winner was always busy traveling for work.

‘He kind of felt abandoned by her,’ the source claimed. ‘He went to all of these places to support her, and then when he was off over summer, she was nowhere to be found. He felt like she never made an effort.’

The insider then surmised that Thompson is not used to being in a serious relationship with such a high-profile, successful celebrity and is ‘probably used to girls revolving their lives around him.’

Meanwhile, the second source pointed out: ‘It’s hypocritical for Klay to complain about her work ethic when they’re both public figures who travel frequently for their careers and each strive for excellence in their professions.’

‘He always knew she was never a stay at home partner,’ they added of Megan, an award-winning musician with a global following who recently starred on Broadway.

Whenever Meganwas in town, the first source claimed that she would often document their dates, something that allegedly irked the pro baller.

Fans got to see them on a golf outing, cozied up on romantic dinners and doing workout sessions, all via Megan’s social media. Thompson appeared like a willful participant in the clips – which fans enjoyed because they got to see another side of him.

However, behind closed doors, the first source claimed: ‘He tried to do it for her but it was annoying [to him]. He’s not a big poster, very to himself and private.’

Thompson also allegedly felt like he could not ‘live a normal life’ with Megan because she was often surrounded either by an entourage or security.

The first insider claimed that the Whenever rapper battled feelings of paranoia, stemming from her traumatic 2020 Tory Lanez shooting incident, for which the latter was found guilty and is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence.

The source claimed Thompson once said: ‘She would not shut the f**k up about [Lanez].’

He allegedly also said, ‘She always felt like people were out to get her. She needs security everywhere, even in remote places.’

But the second source insisted that conversations Thompson and Megan had pertaining to Lanez, 33, ‘rarely’ happened.

‘If anything, she vented and leaned on her partner for support, as anyone would in a relationship,’ the second insider further explained, noting those talks only occurred  when Megan would see ‘false narratives circulating about her on the internet.’

When the first source was asked whether Thompson ever discussed his alleged frustrations with Megan, the insider claimed the athlete doesn’t like confrontation.

‘I think anyone who knows him would know that that’s not who he is [to speak up],’ the source added. ‘He says what he feels but he’s not confrontational.’

Given all of the grievances Thompson apparently hid from his now-ex, the first source called into question why the Mavericks star embarked on the public romance.

The insider claimed that Thompson – who is black on his father Mychal Thompson’s side and white on his mother Julie Thompson’s side – struggled with identity issues regarding his race throughout his life.

The source implied that Thompson dated Megan – who is black – to gain acceptance from that community.

‘He’s always trying to be in touch with his black side because all of his teammates didn’t come from a privileged upbringing so he tries extra hard to be in touch with the black culture,’ they claimed. ‘He’s very attracted to white women.’

Thompson’s dating history consists of a mixed group of women, including comedian Hannah Stocking – who is white, Laura Harrier – who is biracial, and Coco Jones – who is black.

Regardless of the alleged motivations, the first source claimed Thompson became ‘excited’ about Megan and ‘definitely liked her at first, but after a while that faded.’

A second insider claimed Thompson never tried to break up with Megan and claimed she was the one to decide to end the relationship

The first source concluded: ‘They could not have been a more opposite couple.’

Thompson has yet to publicly address the split, including the cheating allegations.

However, in a statement first obtained by the Daily Mail back in April, Megan said: ‘I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay.

‘Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.’

The rap superstar has also since released a new song titled, Wifey S***, in which she raps: ‘All that wifey s*** is dead/ Put that s*** to bed,’ along background vocals that say, ‘That man ain’t s***, that man ain’t s***.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to Thompson and Megan’s representatives.

Kennedy Center Strips Trump’s Name from Facade: A Bold Move in the Arts Community

WASHINGTON (AP) — While President Donald Trump’s time at the Kennedy Center has officially ended, the tarp that shrouds his name remains in place, leaving curious onlookers waiting for the true reveal.

Matt Floca, who serves as the executive director and chief operating officer of the iconic performing arts venue, informed a federal court on Saturday that they had adhered to the directive to remove Trump’s name from the facade. In his court filing, Floca confirmed that the board of trustees and the center had successfully eliminated “all physical signage on the Kennedy Center building and grounds, including the front portico, that purports to rename the Kennedy Center after President Trump.”

For those who gathered on the plaza in anticipation of witnessing a symbolic moment marking the limits of Trump’s influence, the sight was less than dramatic. A tarp still obscures the scaffolding set up for workers to complete the task, leaving it uncertain when the tarp will be lifted to reveal the historic inscription: “The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.”

The Kennedy Center’s leadership had initially resisted a federal judge’s order to remove Trump’s name from the building. Two courts denied their last-minute plea to retain the name pending an appeal. After severe thunderstorms swept through Washington on Friday evening, the Kennedy Center made one final bid for an extension before ultimately complying with the noon Saturday deadline.

Those advocating for the removal of Trump’s name were buoyant. Rep. Joyce Beatty, D-Ohio, an ex officio member of the board who had sued to eliminate references to the former president from the building and its operations, was seen on the plaza late Friday and Saturday morning. She celebrated by posting a video on social media showing her performing the “Trump dance” in one of the grand halls of the Kennedy Center.

“Today’s victory is the beginning of returning the Kennedy Center to the American people,” Beatty said in a statement. “The rule of law prevailed, and that is worth celebrating.”

Leo Bartholomaus, a recent graduate of Syracuse University who lives in Virginia, said he was walking by the Kennedy Center on Friday afternoon after visiting the National Mall to see events related to this weekend’s UFC match at the White House. He said he was not happy that Trump added his name to the building.

“My grandmother had a big love of the arts,” he said. “I’ve been here to see ‘The Lion King.’ I wasn’t a fan of Donald Trump putting his name on it. I thought it was better as the Kennedy Center.”

Closing an unusual chapter

The removal of Trump’s name closes one of the more unusual chapters in the history of the Kennedy Center, which began construction in 1964 and was dedicated to the memory of the slain president, Democrat John F. Kennedy. At what is typically one of the few relatively nonpartisan spaces in Washington, Trump has wielded tremendous influence over the venue during his second term.

Though he rarely discussed the Kennedy Center during his 2024 campaign, Trump moved quickly to oust the institution’s leadership when he returned to office in January 2025 and replaced it with a board of trustees that named him chairman. His name was quickly added to the building.

While the removal of his name marks a setback for Trump, he is moving forward with plans to reshape the physical landscape of the nation’s capital in ways that have few modern parallels.

He demolished the East Wing of the White House and is building a controversial ballroom in its place. He remodeled the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and plans extensive renovations of a golf course in East Potomac Park, moves that could significantly reduce the public’s access to running and biking paths. He is also moving forward with a triumphal arch that will sit near Arlington National Cemetery across the Potomac River in Virginia.

Indeed as Trump’s name was being removed from the Kennedy Center, the South Lawn of the White House has been transformed into a venue for a UFC match intended to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence but also coinciding with Trump’s birthday on Sunday.

Questions linger about the Kennedy Center’s future

Back at the Kennedy Center, there are many questions about the institution’s future. The same May court decision that ordered Trump’s name to be removed from the building also blocked a planned two-year closure for renovations that was set to begin next month.

The Kennedy Center’s calendar for the weeks ahead include performances of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” and “Bluey’s Big Play.” Comedian Bill Maher is to be awarded the Mark Twain Award for American Humor during a ceremony on June 28.

But little is scheduled for the stages beyond that and, after substantially reducing staff, it is unclear how quickly the Kennedy Center could build out a robust performance list. Trump, angered by the court’s order to remove his name, has said he would turn the Kennedy Center over to Congress and has suggested it might simply shutter because of public safety concerns.

In its unsuccessful appeal on Friday seeking a pause on the order removing Trump’s name, the Kennedy Center’s leadership argued, in terms that seemed similar to the president’s speech patterns, that the lower court was interfering with needed renovations.

“The District Court is not allowing us to close in order to properly fix up and repair the Building, including potentially life threatening structural damage like beams and parking garage ceilings that are rusted, and in serious danger of falling onto people below,” according to the appeal. “Indeed, total collapse!”

The institution also suggested that the president’s name could return to the building if the Kennedy Center later wins its appeal.

If the court denied the venue’s request for a pause, the Kennedy Center argued it would “be forced to squander time and money — by both removing the signage and then potentially returning it after appeal.”

Iran Prepares for Historic Farewell: Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s Funeral Set for July 4th

0

Prepare for a unique alignment of events!

Iran has scheduled the state funeral for its late Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, to commence on July 4—coinciding with the United States’ 250th anniversary celebrations.

The Supreme Leader was killed on February 28, following airstrikes by the US and Israel on his compound in Tehran, igniting a war with Iran. Due to concerns over potential follow-up attacks, the Islamic Republic delayed Khamenei’s official farewell for over three months.

With a peace agreement anticipated to be finalized shortly, Iranian state media has unveiled the plans for the 86-year-old leader’s final rites.

The capital city, Tehran, will host three days of commemorative ceremonies beginning on July 4 at the prayer hall of Imam Khomeini, the Islamic Republic’s founder, culminating in a funeral procession on July 6.

Then on July 7, another funeral ceremony will be held in the holy city of Qom, south of Tehran.

The proceedings will conclude with a burial in Khamenei’s hometown, the northeastern holy city of Mashhad, ‌on July 9.

Khamenei, who was the leader of the Islamic Republic for 36 years, will be buried at the shrine of Imam Reza, a holy place for Shiite Muslims.

Funerals for his daughter and son-in-law, who were also killed in the deadly Feb. 28 strike, will be held on the same day.

Despite Islamic law requiring the dead be buried within 24 hours ideally, the Islamic Republic is believed to have avoided Khamenei’s funeral for so long for fear of potential airstrikes, nationalist counter-rallies similar to the nationwide uprisings earlier this year, and the regime’s need to explain the absence of his son Mojtaba Khamenei.

The younger Khamenei’s son was severely disfigured in the strikes that killed his father and has not been seen in public since his appointment. It is unclear whether he’ll be attending the ceremonies starting.

The Islamic Republic initially planned a three-day state funeral beginning on March 4, but it never materialized once the country was rocked by large-scale Israeli and US bombing campaigns.

Helicopter Footage Reveals Florida Man Allegedly Abandoning Child Amid High-Speed Pursuit by Deputies

0

A Florida man has been arrested following a dramatic incident captured on video, where he attempted to evade a traffic stop, collided with another vehicle, and abandoned a child while fleeing from law enforcement officers.

On Tuesday, authorities in Orange County attempted to stop 24-year-old Jason Kenon, who was accompanied by an adult passenger and two young children, aged 1 and 4. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Kenon was driving despite having numerous outstanding warrants.

In an effort to escape, Kenon accelerated and began weaving through traffic in Orlando. Ground units pursued him while a sheriff’s helicopter maintained visual contact from above.

The dramatic chase, as recorded by the helicopter, shows Kenon attempting to maneuver around a black SUV at a stop sign before crashing into its rear. Despite the collision, he continued his flight, as shown in footage released by the sheriff’s office.

The overhead video from the chopper showed Kenon trying to get around a black SUV at a stop sign before he plowed into its rear end. He continued driving after this, according to the video provided by the sheriff’s office.

Kenon proceeded to stop in a residential neighborhood, letting the adult passenger and the 1-year-old child out of the car. Deputies noted that the 4-year-old child tried to get out of the vehicle but couldn’t do so before Kenon hit the gas again.

Kenon was then shown stopping near a building, getting out of the car and lifting the child out of the backseat. The child was seen following Kenon as he ran away from police.

Eventually, Kenon jogged through an alley, kicked his shoes off his feet and then began running barefoot in the opposite direction from the child, leaving him behind, according to the video.

Seconds later, Kenon ran directly into the road and tried to scale a fence that led into a wooded area. Two police cars had already converged, with deputies ordering him down to the ground.

Another deputy went over and recovered the nearby child, who was crying and holding Kenon’s shoes. Both children did not have any injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

According to court records, Kenon faces seven charges, including aggravated fleeing and eluding, two counts of child neglect, leaving the scene of a crash, reckless driving, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Separately, in December 2025, Kenon was sentenced to 94 days in jail by a judge in Osceola County for burglarizing a building and felony grand theft in the third degree. He had pleaded no contest to the charges.

It is unclear which active warrants the Orange County Sheriff’s Office was pursuing Kenon for during this incident. News Media reached out to the department for comment.

New Legislation Targets 3D-Printed Firearms: Efforts to Halt Unauthorized Gun Production

0

New York has introduced a groundbreaking law that could mandate the inclusion of gun-blocking technology in 3D printers sold for personal and commercial use. This initiative is an effort to curb the production of untraceable “ghost guns” that have increasingly been linked to criminal activities. A similar measure is under consideration in California, sparking discussions on the practicality of such technology and its implications for privacy and constitutional rights.

Currently, approximately one-third of U.S. states have enacted laws to ban or regulate the creation of homemade firearms that lack serial numbers and bypass the background checks required for purchasing guns from federally licensed dealers. What sets this new approach apart is its focus on the manufacturing equipment itself, rather than the individuals who assemble these firearms.

The proposed technology in these populous states could establish industry-wide standards for 3D printers and potentially inspire other Democrat-led states to enhance their gun control measures. Many of these states already have laws prohibiting specific semi-automatic weapons and allow for the temporary confiscation of firearms from individuals considered a threat to themselves or others.

Over the past two decades, 3D printers have become increasingly prevalent, raising the stakes in the debate over how to regulate their use in firearm production.

More privately made guns are being used in crimes

Three-dimensional printers have become increasingly common over the past couple of decades.

Since 2012, the number of 3D printers worldwide has grown from an estimated 30,000 to over 3 million while the industry’s value has multiplied from around $2 billion to $26 billion annually, said Bill Decker, executive chairman of the Association of 3D Printing. Though high-end printers cost thousands of dollars, some 3D printers now can be bought for as little as several hundred dollars.

The devices can make toys, prosthetic limbs and even airplane parts. They also can make firearms — or the pieces necessary to assemble them — using digital designs available online. Homemade guns that lack serial numbers often are called “ghost guns,” because they are hard for law enforcement officers to trace.

Firearms made with 3D printers are increasingly being used in crimes, according to a U.S. Department of Justice report released last year. The number of privately made guns recovered in crimes and submitted to federal authorities rose from about 1,600 in 2017 to nearly 27,500 in 2023, though the report didn’t specify how many came from 3D printers.

In a high-profile New York case, police say a 3D-printed gun likely was used to kill UnitedHealthcare’s CEO in 2024.

How 3D printers could refuse to make gun parts

A New York law signed last month and a bill in the California Legislature both would direct panels of experts to come up with standards for firearm blueprint detection algorithms. The technology would analyze every design submitted for 3D printing, compare it to a digital library of firearm parts, and reject those that are similar.

Though the study process would start now, the mandate that 3D printers come equipped with firearm blocking technology wouldn’t begin until 2029 — or later, in New York’s case, if the study group determines it’s not yet feasible.

The concept is a bit like a smartphone app that identifies trees or flowers from an uploaded photo, said Solomon Diamond, an associate engineering professor at Dartmouth College who was among several experts at a recent online seminar about the legislation.

For 3D printers, one possible method could use a geometric analysis of shapes, dimensions and other structural features to reject print projects that closely resemble firearm parts.

“Geometric search is mature, it’s deployed, it is ready to be applied to this problem,” said Julian Chultarsky, a technical account manager at Physna, a Columbus, Ohio-based company that develops such technology.

Could 3D printers block both too little and too much?

The Association of 3D Printing supports the legislation in New York and California, but “it’s not going to work,” Decker said. “It’s more of a political statement than anything else.”

Criminals still will come up with ways to make guns from 3D printers, either by altering their designs or taking their printing projects elsewhere, Decker said.

The more aggressive the technology becomes, the more likely that it also blocks unintended items, said Rory Mir, director of open access and technology community engagement at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a nonprofit digital rights group. Some harmless pipes might look like gun parts, or an S-shaped wall hanger might resemble an auto sear trigger used to modify a semiautomatic weapon into a machine gun.

“These sort of censorship algorithms don’t work, and they wind up capturing and blocking a lot of lawful speech,” Mir said.

If print instructions are submitted for a cloud-based artificial intelligence search, it also risks the privacy of people’s artistic and proprietary creations, Mir said.

Does the right to bear arms extend to making them?

Gun safety advocates say 3D printers have created a new pathway for people who cannot legally purchase firearms — like children or convicted felons — to nonetheless obtain them. Eleven states already generally prohibit 3D-printed guns, and six additional states require them to receive serial numbers, according to Everytown for Gun Safety.

Blocking the actual 3D printing of firearms could make it harder for people to ignore such laws.

“3D printing really is the new frontier of the fight against ghost guns,” said Samuel Levy, director of policy advocacy at Everytown for Gun Safety.

The National Rifle Association might partly agree with that assertion, though it disagrees with the policy.

“Despite desperate fear-mongering campaigns, homemade firearms are nothing new — they are a proud, time-honored American tradition dating back to the founding of our Republic,” John Commerford, executive director of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action, said in a statement. He added that “these measures only restrict responsible Americans — who do follow the law — from participating in constitutionally protected activities.”

Historic Iran Peace Deal Set for Signing Tomorrow, Announces Trump

0

President Donald Trump has revealed that a groundbreaking peace agreement between the United States and Iran is set to be finalized tomorrow, leading to the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

On Saturday afternoon, Trump took to Truth Social to announce this pivotal development, declaring that the crucial maritime passageway will once more be “OPEN TO ALL” following the signing of the agreement on Sunday, which coincidentally marks his 80th birthday.

“The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL. Our relationship with Iran is a much different and better one than previous Administrations have had,” the president stated, highlighting a new era of diplomacy with Iran.

Trump’s message also took a critical stance against former President Barack Obama, emphasizing that his administration’s approach to Iran is fundamentally different from the previous administration’s. He asserted that Iran is no longer pursuing nuclear weapons.

During his presidency, Obama negotiated the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, also known as the Iran Nuclear Deal, which aimed to restrict Iran’s nuclear capabilities in return for lifting economic sanctions.

‘Unlike Obama’s Hundreds of Billions of Dollars in payments to them, including 1.7 Billion Dollars in green, cold cash, no money will exchange hands,’ Trump said.

He continued: ‘At the appropriate time, when all is calm, we will go in and get the Nuclear Dust, buried deep under the powerful sunken granite mountains, thanks to our beautiful B-2 Bombers and their brilliant pilots, and downblend and destroy it, whether in Iran, or the United States,’ he said referring to Iran’s highly enriched uranium supply.

‘We look forward to working with Iran, and the entire Middle East, long into the future.

‘Hopefully, this process will all work out quickly, easily, and smoothly. If it doesn’t, we have the ultimate alternative, hopefully never to be used again! Thank you for your attention to this matter!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP,’ he concluded.

Despite Trump stating a deal will be reached in less than 24 hours, an Iran spokesperson said it would not be signed by then, the New York Times reported.

Esmail Baghaei, a foreign ministry spokesperson, said that a final deal ‘could take place in the coming days’, per the report.

Baghaei also noted that discussions over Iran’s nuclear capabilities would take place over a 60-day time period after an initial agreement is met, the outlet stated.

According to the NYT, if the agreement is signed on Sunday, it is likely to be done so electronically.

Though it is highly uncommon for diplomatic agreements to be done virtually, Trump is expected to be in Washington DC on Sunday to ring in his birthday with the UFC fight outside the White House.

The deal would effectively end the war between the US and Iran, and it would open up body of water for commercial tanker to get through without being attacked.

The president’s latest comment on the war in Iran comes just days after he fumed that leadership in Tehran, Iran’s capital, has leaked a copy of the impending peace deal.

Trump signaled on Thursday that Iran had agreed to a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that would extend the ongoing ceasefire for 60 days, during which the two sides could negotiate the future of Iran’s nuclear program and other specifics.

The MOU addresses Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium and reportedly discusses billions in sanctions relief. ‘We’re not quite at the finish line yet, but we’re very close,’ a senior White House official said of the MOU on Friday.

But on Friday, the President lashed out on social media, saying that the leaked terms ‘have nothing to do with the terms that were agreed to.’

‘The terms that Iran leaked out to the Fake News have nothing to do with the terms that were agreed to, in writing,’ Trump wrote. ‘What they said, including their weak and pathetic statement on having a deal, bears no relation to the truth.’

‘Very dishonorable people to deal with. With them, there is no such thing as dealing in good faith.’
