Shocking Arrest: Alleged Peeping Tom Caught Photographing Students Sparks Outrage

A Maryland man has been apprehended for allegedly using a step stool to spy on a woman through her apartment window while she was getting dressed, authorities reported.

The suspect, identified as 55-year-old Andrade Robinson, was arrested early Friday morning near a home in the Rodgers Forge neighborhood, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

Robinson faces charges of being a peeping Tom and conducting visual surveillance with lewd intentions, as per court documents accessed by CBS.

This arrest followed a tip from an anonymous resident who reported spotting a man with a three-step ladder near the Donnybrook Apartments on April 28.

The informant provided details about the suspect’s vehicle, including its make and license plate number, which police confirmed was linked to Robinson.

Around 3am on May 8, Detective Nicole Spear and two other detectives spotted his vehicle parked near another apartment complex in neighboring Rodgers Forge.

According to charging documents, detectives watched Robinson use window sills to pull himself up and peer into apartments before retrieving a step stool from his car and carrying it to one of the windows.

When detectives approached, Robinson fled on foot but was caught a short distance away.

Police said a woman was getting dressed inside the apartment Robinson was allegedly looking into.

Robinson denied peeping into windows and claimed he had been searching trash bins for items to resell.

‘It should be noted that at no point was Defendant Robinson seen close to or looking into any dumpster or trashcans in the area,’ the charging documents state.

Authorities said Robinson has been identified several times dating back to 2002 while acting suspiciously late at night around the Donnybrook and Rodgers Forge apartment complexes.

The arrest follows months of complaints from women who said men had been peering through their windows and, in some cases, photographing them inside their homes.

Chloe White told CBS she first noticed someone looking into her apartment about a year and a half ago.

In January, White said she saw someone filming her through a gap in her curtains.

‘I saw someone filming me through that crack. It was two hands, a horizontal phone, and a flash,’ she told CBS.

Afterwards, White installed five security cameras and said she captured three more incidents, most recently on April 18.

Devin Kaestner said she was relieved by the arrest but feared other voyeurs may still be operating in the area.

‘I’m really happy that they got one person at least, but I don’t want people to stop looking,’ Kaestner told CBS.

Police said Robinson is not believed to be either of the two men previously captured on surveillance footage shared with CBS, suggesting there may be multiple suspects.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Continental Realty, which manages the apartment complex, said it has installed floodlights and is cooperating with law enforcement.

If convicted, Robinson faces up to 30 days in jail and a $1,000 fine on the peeping Tom charge, and up to one year in jail and a $2,500 fine on the surveillance charge.

He is being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center. His trial is scheduled for July 6.

“We can only hope to uplift her family as they attempt to work through this time of profound grief. We mourn not only the loss of a young life, but also the future unrealized. She will be greatly missed.”

Haywood County Sheriff Billy Garrett Jr. described the shooting as a “senseless tragic event” that disrupted what should have been a celebration.

“I will commit this sheriff’s office and all our resources, to bring justice for her family. Our county is a great place to live and is a strong, close knit community, especially in times like these,” Garrett Jr. said.

Seven Cyclists Injured in Volusia County Truck Collision

DELAND, Fla. – In a shocking incident on Saturday morning, a pickup truck collided with seven bicyclists in DeLand, resulting in four individuals being transported to local hospitals, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m. near the intersection of Voorhis and Wade avenues. Authorities stated that a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado was involved in the accident with the group of cyclists.

According to the FHP, three of the cyclists sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Halifax Health Medical Center. Meanwhile, a fourth cyclist, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old local man from DeLand, remained unscathed in the incident and cooperated with authorities at the scene of the accident.

Nearby resident Aiden Padilla recounted that his family was startled awake by the aftermath of the crash when someone knocked on their door seeking assistance.

“Then the ambulance got here and they were all just kind of all freaking out and stuff. I don’t know, I think it’s kind of just crazy,” he said.

Padilla says the chaos spilled into his family’s driveway.

He says another driver trying to avoid the crash swerved off the road and hit a parked car outside the home.

“The guy was coming on that side of the road, on the wrong side of the road. And he was coming from this way. So they met up right here. And this guy swerved out and hit on the car,” Padilla said.

Padilla says cyclists frequently ride along this stretch of road and believes speeding has long been a problem in the area.

“People will be going 80 here every day. That’s why we don’t let kids out in the front. Because it’s just crazy drivers around here,” he said.

As investigators continue working to determine exactly what caused the crash, Padilla says he’s thinking about the cyclists injured in front of his home.

“I hope you guys feel better. All the cyclists that were ran over, anybody that was injured. I know that was pretty painful from the way I can see it. So I just hope you guys get better,” he said.

FHP says the crash remains under investigation.

Trump Considers Next Steps for Military Strategy

0

Since February 4, a significant uptick in intelligence-gathering flights has been observed, carried out by the U.S. Navy and Air Force using both manned aircraft and drones. According to data from FlightRadar24, there have been at least 25 such flights, mostly concentrated around Havana and Santiago de Cuba, Cuba’s two largest cities. Some of these flights have ventured as close as 40 miles (64 kilometers) from the Cuban coastline.

The majority of these missions were conducted by P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, known for their capabilities in surveillance and reconnaissance. Additionally, some flights involved the RC-135V Rivet Joint, an aircraft specifically designed for gathering signals intelligence. This surge in aerial activity raises questions about the U.S.’s strategic intentions in the region.

Since February 4, the US Navy and Air Force have conducted at least 25 such flights using manned aircraft and drones, most of them near the country’s two biggest cities, Havana and Santiago de Cuba, and some coming within 40 miles (64km) of the coast, according to FlightRadar24.

Most of the flights were by P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, which are designed for surveillance and reconnaissance, while some were by an RC-135V Rivet Joint, which specializes in signals intelligence gathering.

Several MQ-4C Triton high-altitude reconnaissance drones have also been used.

The flights are notable not only for their proximity to the coast, which puts them well within range of gathering intelligence, but for the suddenness of their appearance – prior to February, such publicly visible flights were exceedingly rare in this area – and for their timing.

Gov. Hochul: Stop Betraying New York Taxpayers and Protect Their Interests!

0

As discussions over the state budget reach their final stages, Governor Kathy Hochul is finally pushing back against the public-employee unions’ excessive demands for pension enhancements. Is it time to celebrate?

The unions are branding their campaign as “Fix Tier 6,” but in reality, it seeks to dismantle the Tier 6 reforms established over a decade ago. This would involve granting retroactive benefits to workers who accepted jobs with full awareness of the existing pension arrangements. Such changes could burden future state and local taxpayers with an additional $100 billion expense.

Currently, the benefits provided surpass those typically available in the private sector; so why consider lowering the retirement age from 62 to 55?

Moreover, why propose removing even the modest contributions that employees make toward their pensions?

The Hochul administration estimates that meeting the unions’ complete set of demands would cost a staggering $1.5 billion annually. In contrast, her compromise proposal, which includes adjusting the retirement age to 60, would impose a more moderate cost on taxpayers, amounting to $500 million each year.

Oops: We guess the unions should’ve just asked for $5 billion, then she’d have offered “just” $2 billion.

Mind you, whatever the unions get now, they’ll simply be trying for more next year: The only way to avoid them rolling back the reform completely is to never give an inch.

This is why New York had to do a “Tier 6”: Over the last half-century, the unions have eviscerated the Tier 2, 3, 4 and 5 reforms: They never relent, and eventually Albany hands out the candy.

Indeed, this endless cycle of scams shows why the Empire State should move all public pensions from 19th-century “defined benefit” plans to modern, 401(k)-style “defined contribution” ones — which is all that most taxpayers have.

That should be Hochul’s counter-offer, not a scheme to “only” partially betray the people of New York.

Unresolved Heartache: Savannah Guthrie’s Plea for Closure in Mother’s Disappearance

0

On Mother’s Day, Savannah Guthrie made a heartfelt appeal for information regarding her missing mother, urging anyone who might know something to speak up.

In Arizona, the search for Nancy Guthrie continues, now stretching into its fourth month. Despite the time that has passed, her family remains hopeful for her safe return.

Through an Instagram post, Savannah Guthrie reached out to the public, asking for assistance and information about her mother’s disappearance. “We need help. Someone knows something that can make the difference,” she expressed. “Please keep praying. Bring her home.”

The post included a touching collection of photos and videos featuring Nancy with her family, emphasizing the love and memories they share.

The caption went alongside a compilation of photos and videos of Nancy and her family.

“Mother, daughter, sister, Nonie — we miss you with our every breath,” Savannah Guthrie wrote. “We will never stop looking for you. We will never be at peace until we find you.”

Nancy Guthrie was last seen Jan. 30. Authorities believe she was taken from her Arizona home against her will sometime that night.

Despite an intense search involving thousands of federal and local officers and volunteers, there has been no sign of the 84-year-old mother of three since she was reported missing Feb. 1.

While an investigation is still ongoing, FBI Director Kash Patel accused the Pima County Sheriff’s Department of sidelining the agency for days.

“What we, the FBI, do is say, ‘Hey, we’re here to help,’” Patel told Sean Hannity on an episode of his show released Tuesday. “What do you need? What can we do? And for four days, we were kept out of the investigation.”

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in a statement that coordination with the FBI began “without delay.”

No suspects have been identified in the case.

The FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for any information leading to finding Nancy Guthrie, or an arrest. The Guthrie family have offered to increase the award amount to $1 million.

18-Year-Old Chicago Native Kevin Gonzalez Succumbs to Stage 4 Colon Cancer Following Emotional Reunion with ICE-Detained Parents in Mexico

0

An 18-year-old man originally from Chicago has tragically passed away after a courageous fight against terminal cancer. His death came just a day after he was emotionally reunited with his parents, who had been detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border. The family shared this heartbreaking news with ABC7.

Kevin Gonzalez succumbed to his illness on Sunday at a family residence in Durango, Mexico. His passing marks the end of a difficult journey that saw him diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer during a visit to his brother in Chicago over the holiday season.

The reunion with his parents was fraught with challenges. After receiving the devastating diagnosis, Kevin’s mother explained to ABC7 that she and her husband sought emergency visas to be with their son. However, their requests were denied due to their previous deportations, complicating their efforts to see him one last time.

Kevin Gonzalez was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer while in Chicago visiting his brother over the holidays.

When the terminal diagnosis came, his mother told ABC7 she and her husband applied for emergency visas. They were denied, because both had been previously deported.

His parents, who live in Mexico, attempted to cross the border illegally to be with their son. They were detained by ICE and held in federal custody in Arizona.

The family fought to be reunited.

Knowing he might just have days left to live and wanting to hold his mother and father one last time, Gonzalez checked himself out of the University of Chicago Medical Center hospital last week and flew to his grandmother’s home in Mexico. He hoped that his parents would be released from custody and deported in time for him to say goodbye.

On Thursday, a judge in Arizona ordered the release of Gonzalez’s parents. On Friday, they returned to Mexico.

Gonzalez’s brother in Chicago, Jovany Ramirez, told ABC7 his parents were escorted by ICE to the border. That is where consulate officials helped them board a bus, and then an emergency flight was arranged for them to get home as quickly as possible.

A spokesperson for the Mexican Consulate in Chicago shared the following statement on Wednesday:
“The case has been closely monitored through our Consular Protection Department. However, it should be noted that, due to the location of the facility where our nationals are detained, direct consular assistance falls under the jurisdiction of the Consulate of Mexico in Tucson, which oversees that region. They are already in contact with the attorney representing Kevin’s parents and following up to further assist them in the repatriation process.

“This Consulate General remains in constant communication and coordination with our colleagues in Tucson to continue providing consular protection to the family.”
