Lauren Goodger Speaks Out on Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan’s Baby News Amid Emotional Reactions

Lauren Goodger has finally addressed the news about her ex, Mark Wright, expecting a child with his wife, Michelle Keegan.

The former star of “The Only Way Is Essex” (TOWIE) shared a lengthy ten-year relationship with Mark, which ended in 2012. Initially, reports suggested that Lauren felt ‘devastated and anxious’ following the couple’s announcement.

However, Lauren has now expressed genuine happiness for Mark and Michelle, stating, “I’m so happy he is going to be a dad, and I mean it.”

Speaking with Closer, Lauren clarified her feelings: “I’m not anxious, upset, or planning to leave Essex, and it didn’t ruin my Christmas!”

She acknowledged the ongoing public interest in her past with Mark, stemming from their time on TOWIE, but emphasized that she has moved forward with her life.

The star added: ‘It doesn’t affect my life whether Mark is having a baby, I’m not obsessed with him, my life will carry on.’

It comes after Lauren was hit with reports she was ‘super anxious’ that she may bump into happy couple Mark and Michelle as they both live near one another in Essex.

A source previously told The Sun: ‘The news has been a huge blow to Lauren and she is devastated, especially as she’s not had a great Christmas, so it’s the icing on the cake.

‘It’s hit her hard, Mark’s building his perfect family and she’s being left behind.’

They continued: ‘She’s always had a lot of love for Mark, they were once childhood sweethearts and in an ideal world she would have reunited with him.

‘Plus Michelle and Mark live close by, so she is super anxious that she will bump into them at some point which will be horrific for her.’

Lauren denied the comments to The Sun and MailOnline contacted Lauren’s representatives for comment.

Mark and Lauren, who were together for ten years on and off, rose to fame on the ITVBe reality series, with storylines revolving around his numerous flirtations with other women, including Lucy Mecklenburgh and Sam Faiers.

Mark and Lauren even got engaged on TOWIE in March 2011 – only for the Essex lad to call things off five months later – and there has been bad blood between the pair ever since.

A year and a half later, Mark and Michelle met on a group holiday to Dubai and fell madly in love.

In September 2013, less than a year after their New Year’s break, the pair were engaged, trying the knot in May 2015.

But it hasn’t always been smooth sailing between the happy couple and Lauren, although things are cordial these days.

Ahead of his wedding to Michelle, the former reality star took to social media to hit out at his long-term love on Twitter after a war words.

He had seemingly taken issue a Lauren’s not-so-cryptic post, reading, ‘She’s the kind of girl a guy meets when he’s too young and he f**ks up because there’s too much living to do. But later he realises she’s perfect’.,

Mark declared: ‘If your reading this, please PLEASE respect my wife and STOP. I wish you well but leave me, my life and my wife out of it. Im sure there is other ways to make money [sic].’

He then went on to re-tweet a series of responses from fans, all supporting his stance.

Presenter Mark and former Coronation Street actress Michelle shared their happy news they are expecting their first child on Sunday in a sweet Instagram post.

Netflix star Michelle cradled her blossoming bump and wrote: ‘2025 is going to be a special one for us…✨’

The couple received hundreds of congratulatory messages from friends and family on their Instagram post including from Rochelle Humes, Kelly Brook, Vicky Pattison, and best pal Arg.

Michelle and Mark’s close pal has seemingly hinted that they are expecting a baby boy.

As fans and famous friends flooded the comments with their congratulations Michelle and Mark’s pal Dylan Hunt, who owns Essex restaurant Sheesh, appeared to let the cat out of the bag, The Sun reports.

He wrote: ‘Make sure he’s Good Looking and Rich, then I might let him take Gia out’.

The publication also reported that one fan quickly spotted the clue and commented: ‘So it’s a boy lol’.

Meanwhile in her announcement Michelle shared a baby emoji sucking a blue dummy, which will no doubt leave fans speculating further.

The couple are frequent visitors to the restaurant and recently celebrated Mark’s father’s 68th birthday there.

It comes after Mark admitted the prospect of starting a family with wife Michelle was ‘hard work’ – eight years before announcing her pregnancy.

He had previously insisted he would wait for ‘a year or two’ before starting a family with former Coronation Street star Michelle, who he married in 2015, with the couple opting to put their careers first.

Appearing on Loose Women in 2016, he said: ‘It’s hard work with the pressure of having babies.’

The former TOWIE cast-member admitted much of the pressure came from his own family, as well as the expectation that any children they have will inherit their good looks.

He joked: ‘We’re going to give birth to an ugly duckling and let everyone down.

‘Aunty Debbie is the first of the sisters to become a grandmother and she tells my mum every day that being a grandmother is so much better than being a mum.

‘So now, my mum’s on our case. Hurry up and make it happen, I want to be a nan.’

He added: ‘I think we’ve got another year or two of her nagging and we’ll just have to do it. When she gives birth there will be 300 Wrights around her.’

Michelle also revealed her ‘frustration’ at the constant questions she received about her baby plans.

Speaking to You Magazine in 2021, she also said: ‘I’m used to people asking me but it’s no one else’s business.

‘Nobody else knows what goes on behind closed doors. I think that’s the reason that question affects me so much – it’s very private! Mark is asked about it occasionally but I’m asked every single time.’

Asked whether her family still asked her about her plans, she confessed: ‘Not any more! People don’t mean any harm by it, but they know what the answer’s going to be.’

During a 2019 interview, Michelle, who was 32 at the time, spoke of her ‘frustration’ over being constantly asked, saying: ‘In this day and age, you shouldn’t ask questions like that.’

She said: ‘They don’t know the background of what’s happening. It’s no one else’s business.

‘I get so frustrated. I’m asked purely because I’m a woman. But I’m immune to it now – it’s like a reaction and as soon as I hear it I brush it off, as it’s no one else’s business.’

Breaking News: Brantley County Wildfire Escalates, Doubling in Size Over Weekend

0

In Brantley County, Georgia, a devastating wildfire has erupted along Highway 82, wreaking havoc on local communities and posing a significant threat to residences. Here’s the latest on the situation.

BRANTLEY COUNTY, Ga. — A formidable blaze has engulfed over 22,000 acres in Brantley County, Georgia, as reported by the National Interagency Fire Center. The fire has severely affected residents across Brantley, Wayne, and Glynn counties, leading to the destruction of at least 90 buildings.

Firefighting efforts are in full swing, with teams from various local and state agencies striving to contain the blaze, aided by federal support. As the fire continues to evolve, authorities have enforced road closures to ensure public safety.

This story continues below.

In response to the ongoing threat, Brantley County Schools have decided to shut down all schools until at least Tuesday. They will provide updates on meal distribution times and locations via the school district’s Facebook page on Sunday. The district is actively working with safety officials to evaluate when it will be safe to reopen schools.

Local residents are expressing their shock and concern, noting that they have never witnessed a disaster of this magnitude before.

“We kind of figured it was gonna happen with the drought that we’ve had, but as far as it getting this bad, we never would’ve seen this coming,” one resident, Korey Sellers, said.

We have the latest updates here.

Brantley Highway 82 Fire – Brantley County, Georgia

7 a.m. Tuesday Update: Brantley County officials said roads around the fire may have reduced visibility Tuesday morning due to smoke, in particular along Hwy 110 and Post Road where evacuation levels changed Monday.

8:30 p.m. Monday Update: One week after igniting in Brantley County, Ga., the Highway 82 fire is more than 22,000 acres and just 6% contained, according to officials.

Nearly 450 personnel have been brought in to take on the fire, which slowed in growth Monday partly due to higher humidity and lower temperatures. A brief, heavy downpour brought “much-needed rain” to the fire Sunday night. Officials said water guages in the fire area measured between 0.4 and 0.8 inches of rain, not enough to put the fire out but enough to provide some relief to firefighters.

Officials said they were able to strengthen containment lines, particularly in the Highway 110 corridor, where mandatory evacuations were lifted Monday, and along Browntown Road.

Intermittent closures of Highway 110 and Highway 82 remain possible if visibility worsens.

A curfew remains in effect from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. in impacted Brantley County areas.

The sheriff’s office adjusted road closures and evacuation zones on the eastern side of the fire as well.

The following roads have reopened:

  • Post Road (side roads off Post that are not through roads are open)
  • Eastern portion of Albert Gibson (west of Boots Harrison remains CLOSED)
  • Eastern portion of Murphy Road to Mineral Springs

The areas remain within a voluntary evacuation zone. The sheriff’s office said deputies will remain in the area as a precaution.

Below is a map from the sheriff’s office showing the evacuation zones and wildfire perimeter as of Monday evening:

In the announcement, the sheriff’s office said residents from the Highway 110 area would be required to show proof of address at the Satilla Grocery/HWY 259 or HWY 32/301 intersection at the open lot on the west side of 301 to get a placard, allowing them to come and go from the voluntary evacuation zone.

The sheriff’s office said all children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult in the area at all times.

No commercial vehicles will be allowed through on Highway 110.

Officials warn that conditions may change, and they may be ordered to evacuate again.

Glynn and Wayne counties also downgraded some of their mandatory evacuation orders to voluntary evacuations Monday afternoon after reevaluations of the wildfire situation.

In Glynn County, the following mandatory evacuation orders were downgraded due to the fire being expected to head west:

  • Old Post Road to Highway 32
  • Highway 32 to Thalman Park Lane
  • Thalman Park Lane to Bladen Road
  • Bladen Road to Old Post Road

There are currently no mandatory evacuations in Glynn County. Several road closures have also been lifted.

These are the road closures active in Glynn County as of Monday afternoon:

  • Highway 32 closed between Highway 301 and Highway 99 (GDOT)
  • Highway 110 closed between Highway 32 and Highway 82 (GDOT)

For the county’s latest updates, visit the wildfire page here.

In Wayne County, mandatory evacuation orders are still in effect from the intersection of Ten Mile Road and Mt. Pleasant Road to the county line (7926 Mt. Pleasant Rd to 92 Mobile Rd)

The following areas also downgraded to voluntary evacuation zones:

  • The entire community of Manningtown
  • The area from the Brantley County line at Wire Road to Post Road to Ten Mile Road, including all areas in between

8:30 p.m. Sunday Update: The Highway 82 fire was more than 22,000 acres Sunday evening, with containment estimated at 6%, according to the National Interagency Fire Center.

“Firefighters continued to improve lines along Boots Harrison Road down to Albert Gibson Road. Dozer lines are being installed east of Browntown Road through pine plantation to Albert Gibson Road,” officials said in an 8:30 p.m. update. “Albert Gibson Road is holding well to the north to Boots Harrison. Firefighters used firing operations to remove unburned fuels around structures on Boots Harrison Road and Hot shot crews conducted strategic firing in places to clean up small pockets of unburned fuels to establish secured lines from Fin Dig to the south to Campbell Road.”

Winds are expected to continue coming from the Northeast Monday. Due to the recent wind shift, officials warn that there may be an increase in smoke along Highway 82 through Atkinson, Lulaton and Nahunta further west. Intermittent closures of Highway 82 are possible.

While thunderstorms did blow over the fire area Sunday night, rainfall was not heavy enough to make a significant change in conditions.

You can monitor the air quality in your area online here.

5:20 p.m.: Sunday Update: Wayne County Emergency Management said just before 5 p.m. that the fire had crossed northward over the county line, officially making it a multi-county fire. The Brantley County Sheriff’s Office says fire activity is expected to increase over the next several hours.

“Fire lines along Boots Harrison Road down to Albert Gibson are holding at this time, helping slow progression in that area,” the sheriff’s office said in a 5 p.m. update.

4:30 p.m. Sunday Update:  Brantley County Schools announced its safety and recovery teams are working to provide food, medical services and other resources for students and staff on Monday and Tuesday, with school being cancelled due to the fire.

For health services, Brantley County Schools students and staff can visit the Heron Health Clinic at Brantley County High School from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Displaced Brantley County Schools families can receive resources, including meals and supplies, from the Brantley County Schools Transportation Office from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

7:30 a.m. Sunday Update: A Brantley County official told First Coast News the fire is now mapped at 20,933 acres and is still 7% contained. It is moving north of Highway 32 and east of Browntown Road.

Mandatory evacuations remain in place for the following Brantley County locations:

  • GA-110 (Yellow Pine Rd) to Thrower Rd
  • From Thrower Rd to Mossy Oak
  • Browntown Road
  • Hawks Landing Neighborhood
  • Happy Hollow
  • Drury Lane
  • Drury Court
  • Coffee Co. Club Road
  • Warners Landing
  • Oaks Woodlands
  • Atkinson Road
  • Godberry Lane
  • Brushing Creek,
  • Fort Mcintosh to Highway 520

As of Saturday evening, April 26, the Highway 82 wildfire in Brantley County, Ga., had crossed Browntown Road in multiple locations and was pushing east toward Post Road. The Brantley County Sheriff’s Office issued an urgent directive for residents in the fire’s path to leave immediately. Containment fell to 7%, down from an earlier revised figure as fire activity intensified.

By 5 p.m. Saturday, the National Interagency Fire Center mapped the fire at 13,738 acres. Active road closures included Browntown Road from the Wayne County line to Highway 82, Post Road from the Wayne County line to Highway 32, Little Memorial Road from Highway 32 to the Wayne County line, and Highway 110W from Highway 82 to Highway 32.

A mandatory overnight curfew remained in effect from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. in affected Brantley County zones, and Brantley County Schools confirmed closures through Tuesday, April 28.

The Glynn County Board of Commissioners issued mandatory evacuation orders Saturday for residents closest to the Brantley County line:

  • Old Post Road to Highway 32
  • Highway 32 to Thalman Park Lane
  • Thalman Park Lane to Bladen Road
  • Bladen Road to Old Post Road

Glynn County residents can text GLYNN to 24639 for evacuation updates.

For the latest fire updates, Brantley County established the following communication methods:

  • Email: 2026.Hwy82@firenet.gov
  • Fire Information: 912-612-7449 (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
  • Road Closures, Evacuations: 912-674-5878 or 912-674-0195

On Friday, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency and mandatory burn ban across 91 Central and South Georgia counties. Speaking at the Ware County Airport, Kemp said the Highway 82 fire and the Pineland Road fire in Clinch and Echols counties ranked as the worst in Georgia’s history. As of Friday, 87 homes had been destroyed in Brantley County, with 800 more in harm’s way. Six Georgia National Guard helicopters were deployed to assist firefighting efforts.

Georgia State Forester Johnny Sabo said the Highway 82 fire represented the greatest single-wildfire loss of homes in state history. Kemp praised the focus of the firefighters and first responders after touring conditions in Brantley County.

“I know they’re tired, but they’re not gonna say that,” Kemp said of the firefighters. “It’s an incredible testament to those hard-working state employees…and everyone out there working this fire.”

The Southern Area Complex Incident Management Team assumed command of the fire, working for the Georgia Forestry Commission and with state, county and local partners, the sheriff’s office said.

Evacuation orders expanded throughout the week. By Friday morning, a mandatory evacuation covered residents from Browntown Road to Old Post Road at Highway 32 to Highway 110. Wayne County Emergency Management issued a mandatory order for all residents from the Brantley County line to Ten Mile Road between Post Road and Wire Road.

On Wednesday, FEMA approved Fire Management Assistance Grants to help cover up to 75% of eligible firefighting costs for the Georgia fires and the Railroad Complex fire in Florida. A state of emergency for Brantley County was officially declared April 22.

“It’s a miracle that we have not had any lives lost,” Brantley County Manager Joey Cason said Wednesday.

Fire investigators believe the Highway 82 blaze began Monday, April 20, when a balloon struck a power line, causing an arc that ignited. The fire grew rapidly Tuesday evening, expanding from roughly 700 acres and losing nearly all containment progress.

WNBA Phenom Caitlin Clark Unveils Inspiring Children’s Book Based on Her Journey

NEW YORK – Caitlin Clark is set to release a captivating picture book this fall, drawing inspiration from her unique life journey.

On Tuesday, Random House Books for Young Readers unveiled plans for a November 3rd release of “EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams.” Through playful rhymes, the WNBA standout imparts a message about the power of perseverance and community support.

Clark’s work, brought to life with illustrations by Adriana Predoi, takes its cue from a motivational phrase that adorned her childhood mirror: “The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is the little EXTRA.”

Reflecting on her career, Clark remarked, “Basketball has opened doors to incredible experiences, yet the true treasures are the supporters who stood by me. I want this book to remind kids they’re never alone in their pursuit of dreams, and it’s the little extra efforts that elevate moments to extraordinary.”

Expert Lip Reader Uncovers Trump’s Cautionary Message to King Charles During Arrival

0

In a fascinating revelation, a lip reader has unveiled the hushed words exchanged between President Donald Trump and King Charles as the British monarch embarked on his visit to the White House earlier this week.

As the President and First Lady Melania Trump welcomed King Charles and Queen Camilla on the South Lawn, their cordial greetings were beyond the earshot of the television cameras capturing the event. However, the subtle yet significant exchange didn’t go unnoticed.

Lip reader Nicola Hickling, speaking to the Daily Mail, disclosed that President Trump mentioned two pressing topics during the brief encounter: the recent shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and concerning developments involving Russian President Vladimir Putin. These subjects, though quietly discussed, underscored the tense global climate of the moment.

When approached for a comment on the exchange, the White House remained silent, offering no immediate response to the Daily Mail’s inquiry.

During the conversation, Trump was seen to reference the incident, reportedly saying, “This shooting…,” hinting at the gravity of the matters at hand.

‘I’d rather not stand about here too long,’ the King appeared to respond. ‘I feel I shouldn’t be here.’

Trump asked King Charles if he was OK, adding, ‘It’s not a good thing.’

‘I wasn’t prepared, but now I am prepared,’ the President also offered.

Trump then changed the subject, telling the King he had been in contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

‘So right now, I am talking to Putin,’ Trump said. ‘He wants war.’

King Charles said they would discuss that topic later.

‘We will discuss that later,’ the King replied.

But Trump continued.

‘I’ve got a feeling… if he did what he said, he will wipe out the population,’ Trump warned.

The monarch tried to switch topics again.

‘Another time,’ King Charles said.

The President then turned his attention to a more lighthearted subject – his White House ballroom project.

‘You can see right through there,’ he said. ‘Right the way through to the ballroom. Would you like to see?’ he asked King Charles.

The monarch can be seen having a light laugh.

‘I’m sure you shall show us,’ the King replied.

Trump answered, ‘That’s right, you’re right.’

The King then asked where they were off to.

‘Which way do we go?’ he asked.

‘We’re going this way,’ Trump said, guiding the group into the White House.

The royals then headed to the British ambassador’s residence on Embassy Row in Washington, DC, for a garden party.

The Trumps’ more official program with the British monarch will take place on Tuesday, with a grander welcoming ceremony on the South Lawn planned and then a state dinner in the White House’s East Room.

Unabomber Investigator Sheds Light on Potential Turning Point for Alleged Trump Assassination Plotter

0

A former FBI criminal profiler, renowned for his work on the Unabomber case, offers a deeper psychological insight into the mind of the man accused of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump and other top officials. This incident, which unfolded on a Saturday night, appears to be more complex than the actions of a mere deranged gunman.

The suspect, Cole Allen, allegedly breached a Secret Service checkpoint at the Washington Hilton during the high-profile White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. This event, drawing not only the president but also numerous elected officials, cabinet members, and other significant government figures, became the backdrop to Allen’s alleged attack. Reports indicate he opened fire before being subdued and apprehended.

Authorities reveal that prior to the alleged assault, Allen communicated with a family member, outlining what he acknowledged to be a perilous mission. This message suggested that he saw his motivations as politically driven, casting himself in the role of a defender of the oppressed. However, he also expressed a wish that certain individuals would remain unharmed amidst the chaos.

A suspect lying face down on the floor as law enforcement officers detain him

Jim Clemente, who dedicated 22 years to the FBI and contributed to the unraveling of the Unabomber case, interprets Allen’s actions as a potential death wish. Clemente posits that the extremity of Allen’s alleged behavior might indicate an underlying desire to end his own life through the attack.

Jim Clemente, a retired 22-year FBI veteran who worked on the Unabomber case, said Allen expected to die in the attack, and that his actions were so extreme that he likely wanted to end his own life.

“He seems, especially through those communications that he sent, he seems like a rational human being who has human empathy. He doesn’t sound like a psychopath,” said Clemente. “He doesn’t sound like somebody who is unstable mentally. Certainly, emotionally, that’s a different story … nothing that I have read or seen indicates that he was having some kind of psychotic break or that he would be schizophrenic.”

“He basically ran through a security checkpoint knowing that there would be numerous armed guards right there, and he’s firing a weapon,” Clemente continued. “But for the circumstances where he apparently tripped and fell and they pounced on him, he most likely would have been taken down in a hail of gunfire. Now, he’s not stupid. He must have known this. And that might have been part of his motivation, that he didn’t have the will to live, and once you lose the will to keep yourself alive, other people’s lives become much less important.”

Clemente explained that a person willing to commit such violence rationalizes and minimizes their actions in order to justify them. In this case, he said, Allen convinced himself his end goal of killing the president and cabinet officials was noble, and that he had a good reason for doing so.

“He didn’t have a general disrespect for human life, he had a very specific disrespect for human life,” said Clemente. “And I think that went along with his own disrespect for his own life.

“Obviously, he was outwardly motivated by the actions of politicians, which is why he targeted them, and this is probably something that he has expressed in his life recently, maybe for a long time,” Clemente said. “But clearly, he’s gotten to the point where that rose to a level — or his own self-image lowered to a level — where he felt like he needed to do something to feel better about his own image or what he perceived the world to be at this time.“

By many accounts, Allen was intelligent and a high achiever.

In September 2013, he enrolled in the highly competitive California Institute of Technology, known as Caltech, to pursue a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, graduating in 2017.

In the summer of 2014, he wrote that he landed another competitive spot as a summer undergraduate research student fellow at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he said he contributed to astrophysics research.

In 2022, he enrolled at California State University, Dominguez Hills, and three years later earned a master’s degree in computer science.

He was a Democratic activist who attended at least one “No Kings” protest, and once donated $25 to ActBlue, the progressive digital fundraising platform, which was earmarked for Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential bid.

Before the attack, Allen was a teacher at C2 Education, a massive nationwide tutoring, test prep and college admissions counseling organization. He won C2’s teacher of the month award in December 2024. He also developed his own video games.

“Generally, this is a result of severe depression and anxiety,” said Clemente. “Maybe it’s masked, maybe it isn’t, maybe it’s very outward, I don’t know. I don’t know if he ever got any treatment for any of that, but generally it’s done by people who lose their willingness to live.”

“He had some way to convince himself in these rationalizations that he’d feel better about himself,” he continued. “He’d be some kind of hero, and that would make him feel better about himself and it would be worth it to lose his life doing this.”

Michael Howard, aged 36, is currently held at the Harlan County Detention Center with a bail set at $1 million in cash. He faces murder charges along with several traffic-related offenses. As per the Kentucky State Police, troopers received a call regarding a stabbing incident at a Pathfork, Kentucky home on Saturday evening. Upon their arrival, they discovered 50-year-old Mary Clayborn suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Authorities confirmed that Howard and Clayborn were involved in a romantic relationship.

According to Kentucky State Trooper Shane Jacobs, Clayborn was found with “multiple stab wounds” to her chest and neck when first responders arrived at the scene at 6:57 p.m. The troopers attempted to manage her bleeding until emergency medical services could take over.

According to Kentucky State Trooper Shane Jacobs, Clayborn had “multiple stab wounds” to her chest and neck when first responders arrived at 6:57 p.m. Troopers attempted to control her bleeding at the scene before emergency medical personnel arrived.

Local NBC affiliate WLEX reported that she was initially transported to Harlan ARH Hospital, and medical staff planned to have her airlifted to a larger hospital. Clayborn succumbed to her wounds before she could be moved. WLEX reported that her body is now at the State Medical Examiner’s Office, where it will undergo an autopsy.

Jacobs said in a Facebook post that Howard was arrested without incident, though charges listed on online jail records showed that he was charged with resisting arrest. In addition to murder, Howard is also charged with disregarding a stop sign, operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, theft by unlawful taking, and three counts of failure to appear.

Details about Howard’s arrest were not made available. He is being held on $1 million cash bond for the murder charge. His next court date is scheduled for May 22.

Breaking Down the Triple Rate Hike: What Aussies Need to Know Now

Borrowers are just hours away from receiving the clearest indication of whether an unwelcome third-straight interest rate rise will be handed down next week.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics will deliver the latest round of inflation figures tomorrow morning, including for the first quarter of the year and the individual month of March.
While the Reserve Bank has historically placed far greater emphasis on quarterly numbers, the monthly data will better capture the impact of fuel prices, which skyrocketed in the wake of the war in Iran.

Inflation forecasts vary, but experts anticipate it will climb to its peak since 2023, with estimates hovering around 4.8 percent, significantly exceeding the Reserve Bank of Australia’s (RBA) ideal range of 2-3 percent.

Trent Saunders, a senior economist at Commonwealth Bank, noted in a recent report that “headline inflation is poised for a sharp rise in March, fueled largely by the spike in gasoline prices following the onset of the conflict in Iran.”

Saunders predicts a 1.1 percent increase for the month, which would push the annual inflation rate to approximately 4.6 percent.

“Gasoline alone is expected to contribute 0.9 percentage points to this monthly rise, with prices at the pump surging by more than 30 percent throughout the month,” he explained.

Despite the RBA having already implemented two interest rate hikes in consecutive meetings this year and amid fears of an economic slowdown, its monetary policy committee is likely to approve a third increase during their meeting next week.

While the RBA has already pulled the trigger on two hikes in as many meetings this year, and there are concerns about a slowing economy, its monetary policy board is expected to make it three from three when it meets next week.

All of the big four banks are expecting a third hike of the year next Tuesday – Westpac has even pencilled two further ones in June and August – and the market is pricing in a roughly three-quarters chance that the cash rate will be pushed back up to 4.35 per cent.

And while there is a chance tomorrow’s inflation read may dampen the case for a rate hike next week – and the roughly $91-a-month blow it would deliver average mortgage-holders – the nation’s biggest bank says it would take something extraordinary to stay the RBA’s hand.

“Quarterly CPI, released tomorrow, will make or break the case for the Reserve Bank of Australia to increase its cash rate,” CBA international economist Samara Hammoud said.

“Financial markets are currently pricing around a 78 per cent chance of a hike.

“There is a risk of a weaker outcome for underlying inflation than consensus.

“However, in our view, it would take a large downward surprise to materially pull down market pricing for a May hike.”

Megan Thee Stallion Charts New Career Path After Parting Ways with Klay Thompson

Megan Thee Stallion is cutting her Broadway stint in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” short, following a turbulent breakup with Klay Thompson.

Initially slated to stay with the show until May 17, the rapper was visibly emotional during her performance on Saturday night. She revealed that her relationship with the NBA star ended amid allegations of infidelity.

On Monday, Megan announced that her final portrayal of the character Zidler would now occur on May 1, though she did not elaborate on the reasons behind her early departure.

Expressing her gratitude, she took to Instagram to inform her fans, “Hotties, my last performance as Zidler in @moulinrougebway will be May 1 ❤️‍🩹. It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater!”

“Hotties, my last performance as Zidler in @moulinrougebway will be May 1 ❤️‍🩹,” she shared on Instagram. “It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater!”

“Y’all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y’all put into the work!,” she continued. “I’m so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful.”

She also thanked her fans, writing, “And to all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey! I LOVE YALL🥹 See you soon 💙.”

Page Six reached out to her rep for comment, but didn’t immediately receive a response.

Megan, who stepped into “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” on March 24, was hospitalized late last month after she stated she felt sick during her performance.

The “Body” rapper later called the scary incident a “wake-up call” that she was working too hard.

“I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough,” she shared on Instagram. “It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t.”

Her fans rallied behind her Saturday following news of her breakup, and Megan wiped away tears as they gave her a standing ovation after her performance.

Megan, 31, and Thompson, 36, dated for nearly a year before she dropped a bombshell on Saturday, accusing him of cheating on her.

“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet,’” she wrote in an Instagram Story. “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season. Now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’????”

In a statement to Page Six, Megan confirmed the shocking breakup.

“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward,” she stated.

“I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity,” she added.

Thompson — who’s previously dated Laura Harrier and Coco Jones — has yet to comment on the split.

Bill Maher and David Cross Clash Over Trans Rights and ‘Looney Left’ Debate: A Heated Exchange

0

Bill Maher and comedian David Cross found themselves at odds during a heated discussion about transgender issues and the “looney left,” with Maher humorously remarking, “Good luck with President Vance,” on his podcast.

During a Monday episode of Maher’s podcast, “Club Random,” the two debated the topic of transgender women in female sports. The conversation intensified when Cross mentioned that his 9-year-old daughter has transgender friends in her third-grade class.

Cross acknowledged that he resides in a “bubble,” expressing a desire to shield his daughter from the negative influences outside it. This admission shifted the dialogue towards transgender rights and the participation of transgender women in women’s sports.

Maher shared a story involving Democratic Congressman Seth Moulton from Massachusetts, who has previously voiced concerns about transgender women competing in female sports.

According to Maher, Moulton once stated, “I don’t want my 12-year-old daughter on the soccer field being overpowered by someone identifying as a woman but biologically male,” a sentiment that reportedly received applause from many.

“I mean, we saw in the Olympics a okay, born a man, now fighting as a woman boxer just beat the dog s–t out of a woman, the other boxer. A lot of people were disturbed by that.

“It’s very disturbing to watch because it’s a man beating the s–t out of a woman. I’m just saying there’s stuff inside the bubble that could be bad.”

Cross claimed he’s seen pre-pubescent girls “kick the s–t out of boys” as he tried to challenge the host.

“This is what’s wrong with the looney left, they just die on the hills that are unnecessary to die on,” Maher said.

Later on in the show, Cross mentioned how his daughter has transgender friends at school.

“Wait, she has trans friends in third grade?” Maher quizzically asked. “They know they’re trans in third grade?”

Maher tried to argue that children of that age are not old enough to decide what gender they want to be.

“I knew somebody who said to me, a woman said ‘I was with what they called a tomboy. If I was alive now and acted the way I did then, that’s what they would have done to me,’” he said, recalling a past conversation.

“Well nobody’s doing this to her,” Cross said.

“Somebody is doing something because 8 or 9-year-olds can’t do anything on their own,” Maher clapped back.

After they agreed to disagree, Maher quipped: “Good luck with President Vance.

“As I always say to my woke friends, we voted for the same person. You’re just why she lost. This is a case of that.”

Cross was visibly stunned as he said: “Wait, what?”

“We voted for the same person, You’re just why she lost,” Maher repeated.

“America hears this and they’re going to go ‘Bill’s right, eight-year-olds can’t really make decisions on their own like this.

“That’s what most people are going to say. And this is where the Democrats are with David Cross living in Brooklyn with Mamdami loving, and this is why, you know, we’re going to vote for JD Vance. That’s America in a nutshell.”
