Tragic Outcome: Man Fatally Shot During ‘Quick Draw’ Game, Police Report

In a disturbing incident out of Pennsylvania, a 24-year-old man stands accused of fatally shooting a friend during a so-called “quick draw” game. This tragic event led to the death of 19-year-old Ti’Shaun Singleton.

On Monday, authorities detained Samuel Rolando Colon, charging him with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and six counts of recklessly endangering another person. These charges stem from the November 2025 killing, as detailed by local law enforcement officials.

The Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office reported that the police and emergency services rushed to a residence in the 200 block of Edward Lane, Catasauqua, at 4:37 p.m. on November 8, responding to a shooting incident.

Upon arrival, responders discovered Singleton, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite emergency efforts, paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, the Lehigh County Coroner classified Singleton’s death as a homicide, further complicating an already tragic scenario.

Investigators said surveillance video from nearby properties captured chaotic moments immediately after the shooting that allegedly showed people moving Singleton’s body.

“The investigation included the review of nearby video surveillance that showed two people inside the Edward Lane home dragging the victim outside and several people running from the home,” the release states. “One person later carried the victim back inside.”

Bystanders allegedly told authorities that Colon shot Singleton during a “game” involving firearms.

“Witnesses whose names will not be released said the victim and Colon were playing a game they named ‘quick draw’ and both were armed with guns,” prosecutors wrote in the release. “As the men were playing the game, Colon shot and killed the victim.”

Authorities did not provide any additional details about the nature of the “quick draw” game.

A child and several other individuals were inside or near the home at the time of the shooting, officials said.

Colon is currently being held in the Lehigh County Jail without bond.

The case is being investigated by the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force and Catasauqua police, with prosecutors proceeding through the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office. Colon is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing, where a judge will determine whether the charges will proceed to trial.

Florida Execution: Death Row Inmate Proclaims Innocence in Final Words

Chadwick Scott Willacy, who was found guilty of first-degree murder for setting his elderly neighbor ablaze after she purportedly discovered him committing a burglary in her home, continued to assert his innocence moments before his execution by the state of Florida on Tuesday.

Addressing the victim’s family, Willacy stated, as reported by The Associated Press, “To the victim’s family, I hope this brings you peace. If it does, that’s good. But this is not right.”

The 58-year-old was declared dead at 6:15 p.m. following the administration of a three-drug lethal injection at Florida State Prison.

Willacy faced conviction in 1991 for the 1990 murder of 56-year-old Marlys Sather, as documented in court records.

On Sept. 5, 1990, Sather had returned from work to find Willacy, her next-door-neighbor, burglarizing her Palm Bay home. Willacy then bludgeoned her head, tied her hands and feet with wire and duct tape and “choked and strangled her with a cord with a force so intense that a portion of her skull was dislodged,” according to court documents.

He then took her ATM card and her car to withdraw money from her bank account. When he returned, he disabled her smoke detectors, covered her in gasoline and set her on fire with matches, placing a fan at her feet to provide more oxygen for the fire, according to court documents.

An autopsy report determined Sathey’s cause of death to be smoke inhalation, indicating she was still alive when she was set on fire.

“We have waited 36.5 years for justice for our mother,” Sather’s family wrote, according to the Independent Florida Alligator. “The pain has been unbearable without her with us every day.”

The family also indicated her death occurred just weeks after she lost her husband to cancer.

Willacy maintained his innocence, saying he would never kill his friend, the AP reported.

He did, however, express remorse to his family and told his “brothers on the row” to stay strong, per the AP. He was injected with the three-drug mix of an anesthetic, a paralytic and potassium acetate, which stops the heart. The combination is the standard in Florida lethal injections.

During an investigation into Sather’s murder, law enforcement officers found Willacy’s fingerprints on the fan at Sathey’s feet and on a gas can taken from her garage. Witnesses also reported seeing a man matching Willacy’s description near Sather’s house and driving her vehicle on the day of the murder.

Willacy’s girlfriend, told police she found a woman’s check register in Willacy’s trash. When police recognized the check register as belonging to Sather, they arrested Willacy. At Willacy’s house, police found some of Sather’s property, clothes with blood matching Sather’s blood type.

Willacy was convicted of first-degree murder, burglary, robbery and arson and sentenced to death in 1991 after a 9-3 jury vote recommending the death penalty.

In 1994, the Florida Supreme Court ordered a new sentencing, citing the trial judge’s failure to give defense attorneys a chance to rehabilitate a potential juror who indicated she couldn’t recommend the death penalty, according to the AP.

In 1995, Willacy was again sentenced to death after a new jury recommended the death penalty in an 11-1 vote.

“Our mother, Marlys Mae Sather should be remembered as a beautiful and loving daughter, wife, mother of 3, grandmother of 5, great grandmother of 5, aunt, cousin and friend,” the Sather family’s statement read.

“She was a new widow trying to take one day at a time,” it said. “We miss her so much every day.”

Willacy’s execution was the fifth in Florida this year, following a record-breaking 2025 in which the state executed 19 death row inmates. The execution was the ninth in the U.S. this year.

Massive Illegal Tobacco Stash Discovered Hidden in Suitcase

0
A record number of illegal vapes and tobacco products have been intercepted by the Australian Border Force (ABF) in a major blow to the black market.

Authorities have issued a stern caution to those participating in the flourishing trade.

The almost 1000-tonne bust – nearly three-quarters of it in NSW – is one of the ABF’s biggest ever.
ABF customs compliance and enforcement Assistant Commissioner Tony Smith (9News)

“This action has prevented the theft of over $2 billion in duties from Australian taxpayers,” stated Tony Smith, Assistant Commissioner for Customs Compliance and Enforcement at the Australian Border Force (ABF), earlier today.

Within a span of just four months, authorities have confiscated hundreds of tonnes of loose-leaf tobacco along with 800 million cigarettes.

To put it in perspective, if these cigarettes were lined up, they would extend over 71,000 kilometers, nearly enough to encircle the Earth twice.

The seizures also included four million vaping devices.

If laid end to end the cigarettes would stretch more than 71,000 kilometres, almost enough to wrap around the earth twice. (9News)

“It reflects a concerted and targeted effort across all of our domains, from the air and sea, to the traveller and mail,” Operation Printwall commander Andrew Tankey said.

The majority of illicit products stripped from the supply chain came from Asia.

One woman arrived from Bali with boxes upon boxes of cigarettes, far more than the legal limit.

Offshore, the ABF also blocked more than 35 million cigarettes and 560,000 vapes from even arriving into Australia.

In just four months, hundreds of tonnes of loose-leaf tobacco and 800 million cigarettes have been seized. (9News)

“Make no mistake, this is intelligence-led enforcement at pace and scale,” Smith said.

“If you move it, you store it or distribute it, you’re in our sights.”

How Princess Diana’s Iconic Engagement Ring Revolutionized Royal Traditions

0

The intriguing history of Princess Diana’s engagement ring has recently come to light, shedding new perspectives on this iconic piece of jewelry.

Known globally as a symbol of elegance, it has been reported by People that the ring once sparked debates due to its unconventional origins within the royal family.

The ‘controversial’ story behind Princess Diana’s engagement ring has been revealed

The ‘controversial’ story behind Princess Diana’s engagement ring has been revealed

At just 20 years old, Diana Spencer, who was engaged to the now King Charles III, opted for a ring from Garrard, the official royal jeweler, by choosing directly from their catalog rather than having a custom piece designed.

Her choice—a stunning 12-carat oval Ceylon sapphire encircled by 14 diamonds—was priced at over $37,000 at the time. Unlike typical royal engagement rings, this one was available for anyone to purchase, marking a significant departure from royal tradition.

The piece – a 12-carat oval Ceylon sapphire surrounded by 14 diamonds – was valued at more than $37,000 at the time and was available for public purchase, a detail that set it apart from traditional royal engagement rings.

Diana wore the ring throughout her marriage and was occasionally seen wearing it after her divorce in 1996.

In later years, the ring became a defining symbol of Diana’s style and influence. Sara Prentice, creative director at Garrard, has said about the piece: “All of our designs at Garrard are rooted in our heritage, and we continue to capture the elegant classicism of Princess Diana’s engagement ring in our 1735 jewels.”

Diana’s choice was seen as unconventional because it departed from the royal preference for custom-made jewellery.

But the design itself had historical roots.

It was inspired by a sapphire brooch given to Queen Victoria by her husband in 1840, which was later worn by Queen Elizabeth II.

Victoria is said to have worn the brooch on her wedding day as her “something blue”.

Following Diana’s death in 1997, the ring passed to her younger son, Prince Harry, now 41, who later gave it to his brother, Prince William, now 43, when William proposed to Catherine, Princess of Wales, 44, in 2010.

William spoke about the decision during an interview with ITV.

He said: “Obviously, (Diana’s) not going to be around to share in all the fun and excitement, so this is my way of keeping her close to it all.”

Harry later incorporated elements of Diana’s jewellery into the engagement ring he gave to his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 44.

Meghan said in an interview with the BBC: “It’s so important to me to know that she’s a part of this with us. It’s incredibly special to be able to have this, which sort of links where (Harry comes) from and Botswana, which is important to us. It’s perfect.”

Sara Prentice later reflected on Diana’s influence in a separate interview with The Times.

She said: “Princess Diana was my muse for this collection, not just because of her Garrard cluster engagement ring, but because of her style, her elegance and her attitude. Diana was a trailblazer and Blaze is modern and bold, just as she was.”

Diana’s ring has since influenced jewellery design and has been replicated in various collections, with sapphire engagement rings becoming more widely adopted by a series of celebrities.

Prince Harry Makes a Swift Departure from Meghan Markle’s Wellness Retreat

0

Prince Harry didn’t linger at Meghan Markle’s event, Her Best Life retreat in Sydney, as he swiftly exited on Friday, amid its surrounding controversy.

A newly surfaced video captures the Duke of Sussex promptly standing from his seat and heading for the exit right after Meghan concluded a Q&A session.

Before leaving, Harry, 41, briefly shook hands with a gentleman seated close to the stage, deliberately avoiding eye contact with the audience who were applauding Meghan with a standing ovation.

He then made a quick exit through the nearest doorway.

Posted by businesswoman Liliana Sanelli, who attended the event, she also included images of Meghan posing with retreat host Gemma O’Neill and a gushing caption.

“It’s not every day you get to meet someone as stunning as Meghan Markle,” she remarked.

Elsewhere she said, ‘Hearing Meghan speak so openly, authentically and be so real – has given me another perspective of powerful, insightful, strong women when they are truly real to themselves.’

Meanwhile, the Her Best Life podcast shared a cringey video of the after-party, which included scenes of attendees wearing oversized ‘novelty’ glasses while dancing to tunes spun by a DJ.

Meghan is not believed to have attended those festivities.

Radio star Jackie ‘O’ Henderson – who is managed by O’Neill – was also featured in a brief clip, where she could be seen addressing a crowded conference room.

During her talk, The Duchess of Sussex asked superfans if it was finally time to invest in herself after spending ‘all her life investing in women’.

Attendees had paid up to AUD$3,199 for VIP tickets to the event, which included the opportunity to sit in the front row of the Q&A and take a photograph with the Duchess.

‘I’ve spent all my life investing in women, can I finally invest in me?’ Meghan asked the audience during her 90-minute appearance on stage.

She also told the crowd her experience in the public eye had been ‘very difficult’ but that people’s criticism of her had to do with their own ‘projections’.

She said the last decade, during which she celebrated happy moments such as her wedding and the birth of her two children, had been tainted by the vicious attacks.

Meghan said motherhood had taught her to have perspective and patience, something she needed, ‘given what our life is like’.

It comes after Meghan and Prince Harry’s tour Down Under was the subject of a poll that delivered an unflattering verdict on the four-day jaunt.

The survey revealed that a crushing four out of five Aussies (81 per cent) felt their visit had not improved their opinion of the couple. Just one in five (19 per cent) said it had.

Despite Harry’s speech declaring he never wanted to be a working royal and Meghan calling herself the ‘most trolled person in the entire world’ since marrying her prince, two-thirds of Australians (69 per cent) said the couple had not been treated unfairly by the Royal Family.

And almost nine out of ten Australians (87 per cent) said they believed Harry’s decision to visit the country with his wife would not help mend his relationship with his father, King Charles III.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex departed Australia on Friday after taking part in a mix of charitable royal-style engagements and money-spinning commercial events.

The couple’s tour went from a stop at the Australian War Memorial and a visit to meet survivors of the Bondi terror attack to Meghan’s cameo on MasterChef Australia.

GOP Acknowledges Challenges in Maintaining House Control Without Alleged Unfair Tactics

0

During Tuesday’s episode of MS NOW’s “The Last Word,” Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger (D) expressed her belief that Republicans recognized that their only hope of holding onto a majority in the House of Representatives hinged on manipulative tactics. She suggested that this strategy involved targeting seats in states like Texas, which she claims was part of an initiative spearheaded by the president.

Lawrence O’Donnell, the show’s host, posed a question to Spanberger: “Given your recent transition from the House of Representatives to the governorship, what are your thoughts on the implications if Republicans were to collaborate with Donald Trump to bolster their numbers in the House and maintain control for an additional two years?”

Spanberger responded by asserting that Republicans were acutely aware their slim majority in the House was precarious. She argued that their survival strategy involved unscrupulous tactics, such as pursuing seats in regions like Texas. Spanberger linked this approach to efforts initiated by the president, who she believes anticipated a blue wave similar to the one in 2018, fueled by dissatisfaction with his leadership, foreign conflicts, high gas prices, and unmet promises. She suggested that these factors could drive a repeat of Democratic gains in the 2026 midterm elections.

A Texas courtroom has delivered a stern sentence to a man whose actions ended in a tragic loss of life. Donevyn Bowie, 25, will spend 38 years in prison after admitting to the murder of his girlfriend, Shamiah Allen, during a heated altercation over financial issues. The incident occurred in San Antonio, where Bowie shot Allen twice in the head while she was in the bathtub. Despite his claims that the shooting was accidental, the court deemed his actions intentional and condemned the violence.

Unattended Bag Sparks Travel Chaos at Major Airport: What Passengers Need to Know

0
The discovery of an unattended bag forced parts of Perth Airport to be cordoned off, throwing travel plans into turmoil and sparking a police investigation.

This afternoon, both passengers and staff found themselves unable to access the check-in area of Terminal One as federal and state police dealt with a security incident.

Reportedly, a man entered the terminal, issued threats, and then dropped a bag before making his exit.

Police are investigating after the discovery of an unattended bag forced parts of Perth Airport to be cordoned off, throwing travel plans into turmoil. (9News)

Authorities have since apprehended a suspect in the city, who is currently in police custody for questioning.

The atmosphere turned jubilant when the terminal resumed operations shortly before 6:30 p.m. local time (8:30 p.m. AEST).

A representative for Perth Airport explained that an exclusion zone was set up on the Terminal 1 forecourt as a safety measure, resulting in the temporary closure of the terminal’s check-in areas and short-term parking facilities.

“The investigation has now concluded, and the impacted areas are beginning to reopen,” the spokesperson said.

“Perth Airport is working closely with airline partners and relevant agencies to return operations to normal as quickly as possible.

“Some delays are expected. Passengers are advised to check directly with their airline for the latest flight information.”

The Australian Federal Police said it was responding to the incident along with state police and the airport itself.

Members of the public were asked to avoid the area.

One passenger said the airport was obviously trying to keep people safe in the face of something serious but criticised its communication.

Another was concerned about what it would mean for her travel plans.

“[We’re] just wondering how long we’re going to have to wait and if we’re going to actually make our flights home tonight,” she told 9News.

“And what’s going to happen for the connecting flights. And it just sort of snowballs on from that really.”

Florida Faces Crisis: 61 Counties Declared Natural Disaster Areas Amid Severe Drought

In a significant move, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has classified 61 counties across Florida as primary natural disaster areas due to severe drought conditions. This decision underscores the challenges faced by the state’s agricultural sector, which has been grappling with prolonged dry spells.

To assist affected farmers and producers, the USDA, in collaboration with the Farm Service Agency, is offering emergency loans. These loans aim to provide financial relief and support recovery efforts, allowing producers to invest in essential equipment for livestock, restructure their farming operations, or refinance existing debts.

The breadth of this designation covers a wide range of counties, including those in the Tampa Bay region, where local farmers are striving to overcome the adverse impacts of the drought. The list of eligible counties stretches beyond Tampa Bay, encompassing Alachua, Baker, Bay, Bradford, Brevard, Broward, Calhoun, Charlotte, Clay, Collier, Columbia, DeSoto, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Glades, Gulf, Hamilton, Hardee, Hendry, Holmes, Indian River, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lake, Lee, Leon, Levy, Liberty, Madison, Marion, Martin, Nassau, Okaloosa, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, Putnam, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Santa Rosa, Sumter, Suwannee, Taylor, Union, Volusia, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington.

By extending this emergency credit, the USDA aims to stabilize the agricultural landscape in Florida, ensuring that farmers and producers have the necessary resources to recover and sustain their livelihoods amid challenging environmental conditions.

  • Citrus
  • Hernando
  • Highlands
  • Hillsborough
  • Manatee
  • Pasco
