Elon Musk’s father has stirred controversy by asserting that Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, is still alive, dismissing the notion of his jailhouse death as ‘absurd.’

During a high-profile interview broadcast on Russian state television, which operates under Vladimir Putin’s regime, 79-year-old Errol Musk shared his views, echoing conspiracy theories that have lingered since Epstein’s death.

Jeffrey Epstein was discovered lifeless in his cell on August 10, 2019, as he awaited trial on charges related to sex trafficking. His demise quickly became a breeding ground for speculation and debate.

The official ruling by New York City’s chief medical examiner classified Epstein’s death as a suicide, yet alternative theories have continued to circulate over the years.

“I find it absurd to believe that he’s dead. It’s ridiculous,” Errol Musk remarked.

This prompted groans from the studio audience, but he went on: ‘The prison guards have come out to say that he was swapped out the night before he was supposed to commit suicide.

‘The cameras were off at the wrong time, the guards went to sleep.

‘It’s absolutely absurd to think that this man is [dead]. He’s alive and well.’

Epstein was found dead in his prison cell on August 10, 2019, while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, in a case that fuelled widespread speculation.

Errol is on a visit to Russia.

He said last year that ‘as a family… we are a little bit in awe of Mr. Putin’.

At the weekend, Errol was seen at a Moscow cathedral for a Russian Orthodox Easter midnight service attended by the Kremlin dictator.

The Russian president casually walked into the midnight cathedral service, apparently wearing heavy makeup, and looking weary and tired.

Putin’s annual appearance at the Christ the Saviour Cathedral near the Kremlin, to mark Orthodox Easter, came soon after he called a 32-hour ceasefire in the war – which his own troops violated.

The Easter ceasefire was broken by Russia after it attacked Ukrainian positions with drones on Saturday.

Ukraine’s military command reported nearly 470 Russian violations of the truce.

In a festive message at the Sunday service, Putin said: ‘The great holiday of Easter fills the hearts of millions of people with sincere joy, faith in the all-conquering power of life, in the triumph of love, goodness, and justice, and unites us around centuries-old paternal traditions, undeniable spiritual, moral values, and ideals.’

As his troops broke his declared ceasefire, he praised ‘our heroes – the participants and veterans of the special military operation’.

Errol, who is a regular visitor to Russia, has previously praised Putin and even blamed his son for falling out with President Donald Trump.

He is in Russia on a two-week trip focusing on ‘research projects with Russian scientists’, according to Moscow Times.

President Putin on Thursday declared a 32-hour ceasefire over the Orthodox Easter weekend, ordering Russian forces to halt hostilities from 4pm on Saturday until the end of Sunday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promised to abide by the ceasefire, describing it as an opportunity to build on peace initiatives. But he warned there would be a swift military response to any violations.

Russia quickly violated their own ceasefire after attacking Ukrainian positions with drones on Saturday evening, as Serhii Kolesnychenko, a communications officer for Ukraine’s 148th Separate Artillery Brigade, said: ‘The ceasefire is not being observed by the Russian side.’

A tragic incident unfolded this week in Nebraska when police fatally shot a woman who had stabbed a 3-year-old boy. The woman had a history of violence, having been previously arrested for attacking her father with a knife and breaking into a nearby Catholic church during a rampage.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 31-year-old Noemi Guzman in the parking lot, standing beside a shopping cart containing the 3-year-old boy, while brandishing the knife.

Despite multiple verbal commands from officers for Guzman to drop the weapon, she refused. In a harrowing moment, she proceeded to cut the child across his face, as reported by the police.

Two officers fired their weapons, fatally striking Guzman, according to authorities. The child was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive. 

Authorities later revealed surveillance video showed Guzman shoplifting the weapon before approaching the child’s caretaker and forcing the pair outside at knifepoint.

The incident is not Guzman’s first run-in with the law, according to reports.

In 2024, Guzman was arrested after she allegedly stabbed her father and attempted to start a fire inside his home, KETV reported. 

Guzman reportedly doused her father in a flammable liquid and cut him with a knife before fleeing the home.

She then broke into nearby St. Frances Cabrini Church and began destroying items inside the rectory while armed with a knife, according to KETV. 

A priest at the church reportedly called 911 and subsequently barricaded himself inside a room as Guzman continued her attack.

“Whatever room he was in, she busted through that room just as they were extracting [him] on that ladder truck,” Lt. Jake Ritonya said at the time of the incident, KETV reported. “And then she was armed with a knife. So obviously it could have gone very bad.” 

Guzman then proceeded to barricade herself inside the building and allegedly sprayed bear spray at authorities as they attempted to make contact, the outlet reported. ​​

“There was bear spray in the rectory that she sprayed at my officers when we tried to make contact,” Ritonya said. “So we tried multiple avenues to contact her with drones and negotiators, and it just wasn’t — she was in a mental health crisis.” 

She was subsequently taken into custody as she attempted to jump out of a window, but later released on her own recognizance while facing four felony charges, according to WOWT.

Prior to her arrest two years ago, Guzman reportedly had been convicted in 2018 on a third-degree assault charge. 

The Omaha Police Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

The Northern Mariana Islands have been left in disarray after a super typhoon swept through, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Cars were flipped, utility poles were toppled, and tin roofs were torn away by the powerful forces of nature. Remarkably, there have been no reported fatalities.

Local authorities have now embarked on the daunting task of evaluating the full extent of the devastation inflicted by Super Typhoon Sinlaku. The storm initially made its presence known on Tuesday night, progressing into Wednesday with a relentless assault of intense winds and unyielding rain.

In Saipan, the largest of the Northern Mariana Islands and a U.S. territory home to approximately 43,000 residents, widespread power outages have been reported and many roads are now impassable, according to local officials.

Guam, another U.S. territory with several American military bases, also experienced the typhoon’s wrath as it endured tropical force winds.

Designated as the most formidable tropical cyclone to occur globally this year, the typhoon boasted sustained winds reaching up to 150 mph (240 kph) as it struck the islands, as reported by the National Weather Service.

The monster storm still had winds of 125 mph (200 kph) late Wednesday night as it pulled away to the north from the islands of Saipan, Tinian and Rota, the weather service said. Sinlaku is expected start curving toward sparsely populated volcanic islands in the far northern Marianas.

It was still very windy and rainy roughly 24 hours after the typhoon rattled the islands, but much better than the previous night, said Jaden Sanchez, spokesperson for the Saipan mayor’s office.

Preliminary reports include a lot of flooding, uprooted trees and downed power lines, but no deaths, he said.
