Christina Applegate’s Health Crisis: Friends Share Distressing Hospitalization Details

Friends of Christina Applegate are expressing deep concern for the “Married… With Children” actress following her recent hospitalization, as troubling new details emerge regarding her ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, a source shared on Friday, “Each setback brings the harsh reality to the forefront—that time with her might be limited.”

While describing Christina’s resilience, the source noted, “Her struggle with MS has been daunting. She experiences a mix of better and worse days, but never truly great ones. There’s always something she’s contending with, which is incredibly tough.”

The insider also highlighted, “Despite the challenges, finding positivity helps Christina in the moment. She is surrounded by friends who offer their unwavering support, whether it’s listening, sharing tears, or just being present.”

This latest update follows news of Applegate, now 54, being admitted to a Los Angeles hospital last month.

It remains unclear if the reason behind her extended hospital visit has to do with her autoimmune disease at this time.

When reached for comment, a rep for the actress told Page Six: “I have no comment on whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are. She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast.”

Applegate — who revealed her MS diagnosis in August 2021 — has been open about her health journey, giving updates via various interviews and her “MesSy” podcast, which she co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

Most recently, she admitted in February that she’s been confined to her bed due to ongoing pain. She made the confession while telling People that she still tries to take her daughter, Sadie — who she shares with her husband Martyn LeNoble — to school in the mornings.

“I want to take her; it’s my favorite thing to do. It’s the only time we have together by ourselves,” she told the outlet.

“I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do.”

Applegate last revealed she was hospitalized on an August 2025 episode of her podcast, sharing that she was “screaming” from being in “so much pain.”

On the episode, she recalled feeling like “my appendix is bursting” after she felt an excruciating pain on her side.

At the time, doctors informed her that she had a kidney infection that has since spread to her other kidney.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Face Relegation Threat Following Heavy Defeat by Leeds

Tolu Arokodare and Wolverhampton Wanderers find themselves teetering on the brink of Premier League relegation after a decisive 3-0 loss to Leeds United at Elland Road.

This defeat leaves Wolves anchored at the league’s bottom, with their hopes of avoiding relegation now reliant on the outcomes of other matches.

Wolves survival hopes hanging by a thread

With this win, Leeds extend their cushion to nine points above the drop zone, while Wolves remain in peril. Their demotion could be cemented if Tottenham Hotspur secures a victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Alternatively, Wolves’ tenure in the Premier League could also end if West Ham United manages to secure a point against Crystal Palace, marking the conclusion of their eight-year stint in the top flight.

Fast start condemns Wolves

Leeds asserted their dominance early in the match, netting two goals in rapid succession. James Justin broke the deadlock with an overhead kick following a defensive misstep, and Noah Okafor doubled the lead a mere 85 seconds later.

Despite creating occasional openings, Wolves lacked the attacking edge required to mount a comeback. Late pressure failed to yield results, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin sealing the win from the penalty spot in stoppage time.

Arokodare unchanged substitute for Wolves

Arokodare was an unused substitute during the encounter, with Adam Armstrong preferred to lead the line for Wolves.

Wolves did threaten, with efforts from set-pieces and defensive contributions, but their inability to convert chances underlined a recurring issue this season.

Leeds close in on safety

The win continues a strong run for Leeds under Daniel Farke, following a recent victory at Manchester United and progress to the FA Cup semi-finals.

Leeds now sit on 39 points, a total that historically ensures survival at this stage of the campaign. Focus now shifts to maintaining momentum and securing mathematical safety in the coming fixtures.

Tragic End: Justin Fairfax’s Final Words Precede Fatal Incident Involving Estranged Wife

At 49 years old, mother of two, Cerina Fairfax, was preparing to confront her husband in a divorce trial slated for Tuesday morning.

However, her husband, a disgraced political figure known for his heavy drinking, ensured Cerina would never have that chance. Tragically, he took her life on Thursday before committing suicide at their million-dollar residence in Annandale, near Washington, D.C.

“I kept telling her everything was going to be okay,” shared Glennetta White, 66, a close friend, in an exclusive conversation with the Daily Mail.

“We were just days away from the divorce trial. Cerina was counting down to the moment she would finally be free,” Glennetta recalled.

The friendship between Glennetta and Cerina began at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and flourished over 25 years.

Glennetta retired and emigrated to South Africa last year but the devoted pair talked on the phone every day.

‘We spoke on Wednesday morning. Cerina was in Giant getting some stuff for her office,’ she said. ‘She told me about the latest things that Justin had filed in the divorce. They were ridiculous.’

But she had talked to her attorney and she felt good. It was a pretty normal conversation.

‘She was not in fear of her life – she was just desperate to get some normalcy back.

‘Less than 24 hours later, Glennetta got a call to say Cerina had been murdered.

Her bullet-riddled body was discovered by the couple’s orphaned son Cameron, 16, just after midnight Thursday.

Cops confirmed the shooter was Cerina’s husband of nearly 20 years.

‘When her brother said Justin had killed Cerina I just cried and cried for 30 to 40 minutes,’ Glenetta said, choking back tears.

‘It’s like an out of body experience. I still can’t believe that it’s true. It feels like losing Martin Luther King, to me.’

Justin was considered a rising Democratic star when he served as Virginia’s lieutenant governor from 2018 to 2022, only the second African American to win statewide office in the Old Dominion.

But when multiple women came forward in 2019 accusing him of sexual assault, his political career stalled and his mental health deteriorated.

He denied raping one accuser and forcing the second to perform oral sex, and Cerina stood by his side.

Behind the scenes, however, Justin drank heavily and locked himself away in his office among ’empty wine bottles, trash and piles of dirty laundry,’ according to court filings.

He also stole cash set aside to pay for the children’s horse-riding lessons to buy a handgun, the filings state.

Months later Justin packed a suitcase and vanished.

‘Cerina found out that he was in the woods with the gun,’ Glennetta told the Daily Mail.

‘His family, his brothers came out to talk to him. He did not say he was going to kill himself or threaten anyone with it but it was clear he was having some sort of breakdown.

‘They separated for a while. Cerina told him he had to get his life back together before he could come back.

‘As far as she knew that gun had been taken away from him.’

Cerina filed for divorce in July last year but the couple continued to live under the same roof, retreating to separate corners of their four-bed, 2,000-square-foot marital home.

Glennetta said her friend had no idea her husband still had access to a firearm.

‘She would not have stayed there if she knew he had a gun in the house,’ the shaken pal insisted.

‘We already agreed the moment that you think something is not right, leave, go to your mamas.

‘Things were far from alright, however. When Justin kept eating the kids’ food and failing to replace it, Cerina bought a second refrigerator and kept it in her room.

She installed cameras in communal areas so she could monitor what her chain-smoking, lay about husband was up to while she ran the family dental practice.

She was determined to keep things civil in front of Cameron and his kid sister Carys, 14 – but court papers point to occasional violence.

In 2019 Cerina struck her husband with a ‘flurry of slaps’ after she found out he was cheating on her, according to court records.

His filings include photos of a scar supposedly ‘inflicted’ on his left leg that same year.

This past January Justin told police she had assaulted him again but the accusation quickly unraveled.

‘Justin called 911 and had an ambulance, a fire truck, two cop cars and a gurney coming up to the door,’ Glennetta recalled.’

He had been recording her, trying to provoke her, trying to get anything he could use against her.

‘On the audio he was saying ‘don’t hurt me, don’t hurt me, you slammed my foot in a door.”

But when the cops looked at the video it didn’t match the audio at all. He was the one leaning against the door.’

In March, Cerina was awarded primary custody of both children, with Justin only permitted visits if he consented to alcohol testing before and after.

She asked the court to hold him in contempt of court if he failed to pay his share of the bills or contribute to the kids’ $56,000-a-year private school fees.

He had until the end of April to vacate their home, which he littered with hundreds of cigarette butts.

All that remained was the 10am, April 21 property and support trial taking place over two days at Fairfax Circuit Court.

Justin, a lawyer who had not had clients for several years, was due to represent himself.

Financial filings show his earnings plummeted from $400,000 in 2023 to $11,000 a year later.

In 2025 he earned nothing while racking up more than $750,000 in debts.

‘I think Justin didn’t want to be exposed,’ Glennetta said.’

And as for Justin?

‘He wanted to be famous, he wanted a legacy, but I doubt this is what he had in mind,’ Glennetta added.

‘He took a big chunk of life away from a lot of people.’

UN Report Alleges UK Forced Displacement Amid Escalating Diego Garcia Tensions and Security Concerns

0

British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is currently embroiled in a significant international controversy, as a “crimes against humanity” complaint has been lodged against him at the United Nations. This move comes amid heightened tensions following an attempted Iranian missile strike aimed at Diego Garcia, a strategically vital island in the Indian Ocean.

The complaint, which specifically names Starmer, was submitted by the attorney general of the Chagossian government. It concerns the removal of four individuals who had returned to the island, highlighting the ongoing grievances of the Chagossian people who were displaced decades ago.

The legal action coincides with calls from the Chagossian leadership for robust relations with the United States. In a statement to Fox News Digital, they emphasized the importance of their alliance with the U.S., describing Washington as a crucial partner in maintaining global security.

U.S. B-2 Spirit bomber refueling at Diego Garcia military base

Diego Garcia, home to a U.S. military base, has long been a pivotal asset for military operations. Notably, in October 2001, a U.S. B-2 Spirit bomber from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri refueled there after conducting airstrikes in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.

On March 20, Iran launched two ballistic missiles toward Diego Garcia from a distance of over 2,300 miles. Although the missiles did not hit their target, the incident underscores the strategic significance of the base and highlights regional security concerns.

Chagossian leaders have since backed a continued U.S. presence, with First Minister Misley Mandarin saying they want to “uphold the 1966 agreement and consider the U.S. as a brother in arms for global security.”

The 1966 agreement allowed the U.S. to use Diego Garcia for defense purposes, initially for 50 years.

“The desire of the Chagossian government is to have a positive relationship with the U.S. and an ongoing presence on Diego Garcia of the U.S. military,” Tumbridge also told Fox News Digital.

Meanwhile, Tumbridge’s U.N. submission claims U.K. actions risk the “forced depopulation” of the Chagos Islands.

Expulsions began in 1968, when about 2,000 residents were removed, culminating in 1973, and in February the U.K. issued new removal orders to four Chagossians who had returned to the islands.

The filing calls the situation “forced displacement” that could constitute “a crime against humanity by forced depopulation of a territory.”

It warns the British government of a “fresh crime now” that could complete a decades-long erasure of the Indigenous population, stating, “The removal of these four persons would result in the total physical erasure of the Chagossian people,” potentially “amounting to ethnic cleansing.”

“The BIOT commissioner accepted that the Chagossians were wronged in the past,” Tumbridge said Wednesday.

“How can the U.K. prime minister, who claims to value the rule of law and human rights, not want to right that wrong and let the people return to their islands?”

The filing also comes as the U.K. considers transferring sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius.

This followed a 2019 International Court of Justice opinion, while preserving the Diego Garcia base under a 99-year lease.

President Donald Trump criticized the proposed handover, and the U.K. has since paused legislation to formalize the deal, with ministers saying it has become “impossible to agree at a political level.”

The legislation was expected to be included in the King’s speech outlining the next parliamentary session’s agenda.

A UK government spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the Diego Garcia military base is “crucial to the security of the UK and our key allies, and to keeping the British people safe.

“There are ongoing legal proceedings before the BIOT courts. Various UK and international courts have found that there is no right of abode on the Archipelago,” the spokesperson said in a statement.

Responding to the statement, Tumbridge claimed Starmer’s government was “misleading” people and warned a “serious fight” is on the horizon.

“Sadly, the British Government is misleading people. No court anywhere has ever found ‘that there is no right of abode on the Archipelago.’ Tony Blair’s Government took away the right of abode and passed attempts to quash that law in court failed, until the Supreme Court of the BIOT ruled on March 31st and quashed it,” he said.

Police Seek Suspect in Tragic Murder of Pregnant Woman and Unborn Child

Authorities in Texas are actively searching for a man suspected of murdering a 23-year-old pregnant woman, who was carrying his child.

Kevin Faux, aged 24, faces a charge of capital murder in connection to this tragic case, as stated in a news release distributed by the Houston Police Department earlier this week.

The unfortunate event took place on April 8 when Ashanti Allen was reported missing. She was last seen departing from the 8700 block of Main Street in Houston’s South Main neighborhood.

On April 16, Allen’s body was discovered late in the morning near Willow Waterhole Bayou, close to Chimney Rock Park, approximately six miles from her residence on Main Street. While specifics surrounding her death remain limited, Allen’s family confirmed to Houston’s CBS affiliate KHOU that both she and her unborn child had died.

At the time of her death, Allen was eight months pregnant.

“Hearing this bad news of my daughter, I cried but my body is now just numb. I don’t know what to think anymore. How can you let people do what they do and walk free amongst us,” the woman’s father told the TV station. “Being pregnant at eight months with my first grandson, I can’t even tell you how I feel. My body is numb. I don’t think I can process the fact that my daughter is gone.”

The last time Allen’s family saw her alive, she was in her mother’s vehicle, which law enforcement has since recovered.

The day after she went missing, her mother received a text message from the victim’s phone containing an out-of-character message, the family told KHOU. In the message, Allen seemed to be saying she was leaving and not coming back. The family knew that message spelled trouble because all of the woman’s belongings – including a collection of items for her baby – were left behind in her apartment.

The defendant was initially charged with murder. The charge was later upgraded to capital murder, according to authorities.

As of this writing, Faux is still the subject of a manhunt.

And, he reportedly has a history of domestic violence against Allen.

In September 2025, Faux was charged with assault-continuous family violence over two incidents, according to court records obtained by Houston-based Fox affiliate KRIV. In February, the defendant took a plea deal on a misdemeanor count of assault of a family member.

Faux was sentenced to 280 days in county jail, but he was given credit for 143 days served and later somehow obtained early release.

Police say Allen was experiencing a high-risk pregnancy at the time of her disappearance. The woman’s cause of death is still unknown.

“I was about to go buy a car seat and stroller,” Allen’s father added. “Normal girl, pretty girl, working and trying to live life.”

Lone Star State officials are asking for anyone with information about Faux’s whereabouts to contact Houston Police Department Homicide at 713-308-3600 or Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

Trump Greenlights Revolutionary Psychedelic Drug Research: A New Era for Mental Health Treatment

On Saturday, President Trump took a significant step forward for mental health treatment by signing an executive order in the Oval Office with the company of podcaster Joe Rogan and several others. The order aims to fast-track research into certain psychedelic drugs that have shown promise in treating mental health disorders.

President Trump emphasized the potential impact of this initiative, stating, “Today’s order will ensure that people suffering from debilitating symptoms might finally have a chance to reclaim their lives and lead a happier life.” This move specifically focuses on aiding veterans who struggle with anxiety and depression, a demographic that stands to benefit greatly from expedited access to innovative treatments.

Under this directive, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is tasked with accelerating the review process for new therapies, especially those involving psychedelic substances that are already in advanced clinical trials. Such measures could potentially bring these drugs to market more swiftly, offering hope to many who are in need.

Joe Rogan, known for his influential podcast, played a pivotal role in bringing attention to these treatments. During a podcast episode, he learned about the potential benefits of psychedelics and subsequently shared this information with President Trump. “I sent him that information,” Rogan recounted. “The text message that came back: ‘Sounds great. Do you want FDA approval? Let’s do it.’ Literally that quick,” he shared during a White House event, despite having recently criticized the president over U.S. operations in Iran.

“I sent him that information. The text message that came back: ‘Sounds great. Do you want FDA approval? Let’s do it.’ Literally that quick,” the podcaster, who has been critical of the president in recent weeks over the U.S. operation in Iran, said Saturday at the White House.

Trump highlighted Ibogaine, a psychedelic drug used in other countries to treat the effects of PTSD, during his remarks. He added that the administration will be “opening the pathway” for the drug to be included under the Right to Try Act, which he signed into law in 2018.

This law allows terminally ill patients to participate in clinical trials for treatments that are still under FDA review.

FDA Commissioner Martin Makary, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Mehmet Oz were also present during the signing ceremony.

“Under this new program in this administration, drugs can get approved in weeks, not a year or year plus, but in weeks, if they are in line with our national priorities,” Makary said.

He later noted that the program currently has 18 vouchers, and the administration will add three more next week.

“This is an unmet public health need, and there are potentially promising treatments,” Makary continued. “That’s why there’s a sense of urgency around this. That’s why we’re doing it now.”

In 2024, 471 U.S. service members died by suicide and 1,515 attempts were reported, according to the Pentagon’s annual suicide report released earlier this month. While the 2024 suicide rate among active-duty members decreased from the previous year, the department reported an uptick in suicides among members of the reserve units and the National Guard.

Trump also touted his “Most Favored Nation” initiative and TrumpRX.com platform during the event Saturday, boasting of his administration’s efforts to lower drug costs.

Pope Leo Dismisses Trump Debate: ‘Not a Priority for Me

0

In a statement on Saturday, Pope Leo XIV expressed disinterest in engaging in any debate with President Trump, following their recent exchanges.

Speaking aboard his flight to Angola, the pope addressed the media’s portrayal of a speech he delivered in Cameroon. He highlighted the misrepresentation of his message, which warned against those who exploit religion, noting it was prepared well in advance of any remarks made by the president. “It seems it was misconstrued as an attempt to engage in a debate with the president, which is far from my intention,” Leo clarified. “Our focus remains on spreading the gospel message.”

Recently, Trump criticized the pope’s appeals for peace amidst the U.S.-Israeli tensions with Iran.

On Truth Social, Trump accused the pontiff of being “WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy,” further insinuating that Leo, originally from Chicago, wouldn’t hold his papal position if not for Trump’s presidency. Additionally, Trump falsely claimed that Leo supports Iran’s acquisition of nuclear weapons, a statement completely unfounded by the pope.

He wrote on Truth Social last Sunday that the pontiff is “WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy,” suggesting that the Chicago-born figurehead of the Catholic Church would not be pope if Trump were not president. He also claimed Leo wants Iran to have nuclear weapons, something the pope has never said.

The president later said he will not apologize for lashing out at Leo for saying “things that are wrong.” He accused the pope of having “a problem” with law and order.

“He was very much against what I’m doing with regard to Iran, and you cannot have a nuclear Iran,” Trump told reporters outside the Oval Office on Monday. “Pope Leo would not be happy with the end result.”

Trump’s rhetoric appeared toned down on Thursday when he told reporters that he’s “not fighting” with Leo. He emphasized liking Leo’s brother, Louis Prevost, who is a Trump supporter, and that Prevost and his family “love their brother who’s the pope.”

“I think that’s the perfect metaphor for where we are,” he added.

Leo told reporters on Sunday, after Trump initially blasted him on Truth Social, that he is “not afraid of the Trump administration.”

He continued his calls for peace later in the week, urging those to “reject the logic of violence and war, and embrace peace founded on love and justice—an unarmed peace, not based on fear, threats or weapons.”

“This peace is disarming, because it is capable of resolving conflicts, opening hearts, and generating trust, empathy, and hope,” he wrote Wednesday on the social platform X. “I strongly reiterate: The world thirsts for #Peace! Enough of war and all the pain it causes through death, destruction, and exile!”

Coventry City Secures Premier League Return: Strategic Moves with Frank Lampard and Key Transfers to Ensure Survival

0

In late January, following Coventry City’s defeat at Queens Park Rangers, Frank Lampard made a pivotal decision that ultimately led the club back to the Premier League, ending a 25-year absence from the top tier of English football.

At that point, Coventry had gone seven away matches without a win, allowing a substantial 10-point lead at the top of the table to slip away. Even seasoned members of the Sky Blues, who had been leading the Championship for much of the season, began to brace themselves for the possibility of competing in the play-offs.

In such challenging circumstances, many managers might have opted for drastic changes, but Lampard chose a different path. His message after the Loftus Road setback was clear: “Don’t panic.” The former Chelsea and Everton manager reassured his players that they remained one of the strongest teams in the Championship and encouraged them to believe in their ability to secure promotion despite the dip in form. Lampard’s faith paid off as Coventry proceeded to win eight of their next 10 matches, clinching promotion with a victory at Blackburn.

Climbing from League Two to the Premier League is no small feat, even for a well-managed club. Coventry achieved this despite several financial scares that threatened the club’s survival. Since their last appearance in the top flight, Coventry’s future has been in jeopardy multiple times, forcing them to play home games in Northampton and Birmingham. Remarkably, during their tenure at St Andrew’s, they even managed to claim the League One title under former manager Mark Robins.

“Given everything this club has endured, it’s vital for the fans to celebrate and for the players to experience this moment,” Lampard remarked. “They should relish it. Considering the events of the past 25 years, every success feels more significant. We have an extraordinary fanbase, both at home and away.”

‘There have been tough times that I can’t describe too much because I wasn’t here, but I’ve read about what the club and fans have been through, playing home games at different stadiums, and that makes it even more special. It’s very rare now for teams who go through this journey to get back to the Premier League and the fans are the first ones who should enjoy it.’

Here, Daily Mail Sport goes behind the scenes of Coventry’s triumphant march to the top flight – and how they plan to stay there.

How has Lampard done it?

Speak to insiders about Lampard and they stress how calm he has stayed throughout the season. Perhaps during his early days as a manager, Lampard would struggle to hide his emotions from his players. That is no longer a problem these days with Lampard providing the anchor throughout the ups and downs. Lampard signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Sky Blues when he replaced Robins and it would be no surprise to see him offered a new contract in the days ahead.

In an interview with Daily Mail Sport in February, the 47-year-old admitted: ‘Sometimes I still feel like I’m a young manager.’ But he is far from it. After working for Derby, Chelsea – twice – and Everton as well as Coventry, Lampard is closing in on the 300-game mark. In all likelihood, he will cross that barrier as a Premier League boss again and what a story it will be. He has already identified improvements that must be made to the training ground and these discussions will intensify in the days ahead.

Lampard has said publicly that he has never known a better spirit within a squad and the dynamic seems perfect. Most of these players have never experienced top-flight football, whereas their boss is one of the Premier League’s greatest. Respect is automatic. When he speaks, they listen.

Lampard places a great deal of trust in his coaching lieutenants, Joe Edwards and Chris Jones, explaining to them what he would like from a training session, and letting them plan it accordingly. Lampard is heavily involved in the sessions, though, particularly in the tactical work towards the end of a week.

When the players practise their finishing after the session has ended, Lampard – who scored 305 goals in more than 1,000 appearances for club and country – will usually remain to observe and offer advice. Training is strong on detail, with players given extensive briefings before each fixture on the strengths and weaknesses of their direct opponents.

Though there have been more individual and collective meetings than under Robins, these have been shorter, with Lampard focusing on three or four key messages and drilling them repeatedly. He likes to hold separate group discussions with defenders, midfielders and forwards.

The key men

An attacking midfielder like his manager, Jack Rudoni is just one player who has spent hours evaluating his game with Lampard and Edwards, identifying areas for improvement, such as the timing of his runs into the penalty area. Rudoni’s two goals in the 3-2 win over Derby on Good Friday proved the hard work is paying off.

Matt Grimes has been the ideal leader. When he joined the club from Swansea, the midfielder did not feel inclined to accept the designated captain’s parking space at the training ground – until Lampard told him otherwise. Here was a key senior player who considered himself a standard member of the group. It is the sort of small gesture that works wonders for team spirit.

The goalkeeping of Carl Rushworth, Bobby Thomas’ defending, Rudoni’s decisive contributions and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto’s wizardry have taken the headlines. Yet those who have featured much less have been just as important.

Joel Latibeaudiere missed the early part of the season with a knee injury and when he was fit again, he could not dislodge Thomas or Liam Kitching from central defence. Instead of sulking, Latibeaudiere pushed the starting pair in training and took on a leadership role within the squad. When he finally had his chance around the turn of the year, Latibeaudiere has not looked back.

Between them, Jake Bidwell and Jamie Allen have started only six league games. In their position, many would ease off. Instead, Lampard has praised both publicly for their attitude in training and on matchdays.

It is worth looking back at the parts of games this season when Coventry were under the cosh. At those times, you would often see Allen and Bidwell leave the bench to warm up, allowing them to pass on advice and encouragement to those on the pitch. With back-up players like these, no wonder Lampard rates the squad’s mentality so highly.

What’s next?

The Coventry XI that starts the Premier League season in August will likely look very different from the one that got them there.

A priority will be to secure a permanent deal – or at least another season’s loan – for Rushworth. Brought in from Brighton, he has been among their most important players this term. So too has midfielder Frank Onyeka, who will now join on a permanent basis as part of the terms of his loan from Brentford.

Grimes is another the club are confident can make the step, along with Rudoni and forward Haji Wright. In defence, right back Milan van Ewijk and centre back Thomas look capable of playing at a higher level.

Rudoni has been managing a shoulder problem for much of the campaign – it has caused him so much pain he has struggled to sleep at times – and now promotion has been secured, Coventry may decide to send the 24-year-old for surgery to ensure the problem is fixed in time for the Premier League.

It would be a surprise if Coventry followed the example of Sunderland, who spent nearly £165million on new players last summer and have managed comfortably to beat the drop thanks to an outstanding start to the campaign. While the Sky Blues will show ambition, their approach will be sensible: there are unlikely to be £100,000-a-week salary offers, with £50,000 a week believed to be a more realistic negotiating point.

There will be changes, though. Greater athleticism will be sought in midfield, though Middlesbrough’s impressive playmaker Hayden Hackney could become a target, especially if Boro do not follow Coventry back to the Premier League. Keep an eye on the left-back spot, too.

In today’s football landscape, commercial revenue is vital for on-pitch improvement and Coventry are believed to be close to agreeing a new deal with shirt sponsors Monzo for next season.

Premier League shareholder meetings should certainly be livelier with owner Doug King involved in them. Those familiar with the football club owners of the late 20th century will enjoy King’s arrival in the top flight. He is a big personality who likes to be involved in every aspect of the club.

Doug King is the ultimate hands-on owner, and has an excellent relationship with key executives including Lampard

When he bought Coventry in January 2023, King was learning on the job. At that time, there was a perception that Coventry were susceptible to overpaying, both in fees and wages. Yet King is a shrewd businessman, who made his money in the food and agriculture industry, and he has learned quickly. During meetings, he absorbs information quickly and will give proper hearing to both sides of an argument.

At the start of his ownership, barely anything would happen at Coventry without King at the heart of it – but now he is a little more prepared to delegate to key executives, such as head of recruitment Dean Austin.

If Austin and Lampard identify a player and approach King, the owner is now more willing simply to set the budget and leave them to do the rest, rather than conducting negotiations at every stage.

This summer will be fascinating. King is not the type to gamble the future of the club on a single season. Coventry will do plenty of shopping in overseas markets but still they need Premier League experience. Usually those players command high salaries and have little resale value. Will King wish to take those risks?

Sky Blues fans should have faith. They have had their money’s worth under King’s stewardship, which has included two trips to Wembley, two play-off campaigns and now promotion. Whatever happens next, supporters will remember this journey for the rest of their days.

Jennie Garth Opens Up About ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ and Its Impact on Her Body Image

Jennie Garth has openly shared her struggles with significant insecurities during her tenure on Beverly Hills, 90210.

In her latest memoir, I Choose Me, Garth, now 54, reflects, “I never anticipated that embodying a character would begin to shape my self-perception. When I took on the role of Kelly Taylor in Beverly Hills, 90210, I hadn’t yet confronted the issues I had with body image in my personal life.”

Garth discusses how storylines involving Kelly’s dieting, insecurities, or being “lauded or criticized for her appearance” often seemed “alien” to her own experiences.

“I approached these scenarios with the creativity and curiosity of an actress,” she explained. “Much like Kelly, I encountered harsh judgments and grappled with preserving my mental well-being. The show’s messages—whether scripted or imagined—began to blur the line between who I was and who I played.”

Jennie Garth Wishes She Hadnt Done The CWs 90210 Reboot

Reflecting on her involvement with The CW’s 90210 reboot, Jennie Garth expressed some regret. “I wish I hadn’t done it. No disrespect to them,” Garth, 52, remarked during a ’90s Con panel for the original Beverly Hills, 90210 on September 14, as reported by People. “The producer was a mutual acquaintance, and I remember he approached me…”

According to Garth, she soon “felt judged” for her appearance and outfits between 90210 takes.

“[I was] always internally comparing myself to my costars or guest stars joining us,” she said. “I was a young girl and I wanted approval from Luke [Perry], Jason [Priestley], Brian [Austin Green] and Ian [Ziering]. I felt competitive with other young women and worried when I wasn’t getting noticed.”

Amid her body image battle, Garth had a breast augmentation and liposuction when she was 24 years old.

“I started to believe that this was just what you did at a certain age,” she wrote in her book, noting other actresses were also going under the knife at the time. “I wanted to disappear into the version of beauty that was being sold to all of us at the time: small, effortless, waif-like. I thought if I could just carve myself into that image, maybe I’d finally feel like enough.”

In the years since wrapping 90210 in 2000 and welcoming three daughters with ex-husband Peter Facinelli, Garth has learned to embrace her body.

Jennie Garth reflected on her Beverly Hills, 90210 days in her newly released memoir, I Choose Me, sharing details about her relationships with each costar. Garth, now 54, starred as Kelly Taylor in the teen drama, which ran for 10 seasons from 1999 to 2000. The show also starred Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh), Shannen Doherty […]

“I never thought I’d be doing my first underwear shoot at 53 … but here we are,” Garth wrote via Instagram in June 2025, sharing pics from her ThirdLove lingerie campaign. “I’ve never felt more confident, or comfortable in my skin.”

She continued at the time, “Not just because it’s a first for me, but because it’s with a brand that genuinely supports women through every phase of life, including menopause.Thank you @thirdlove for helping me feel strong, sexy, and supported — exactly as I am.”
