With Bitcoins as an official currency and plans of building a Bitcoin City, the El Salvadorian president Nayib Bukele seems to love the cryptocurrency. 

It gained worldwide attention when El Salvador announced its new official currency. On September 7th, 2021 Bitcoins became a legal tender in the Central American country. This made El Salvador the first country in the world to give Bitcoins the status of an official currency in the nation. President Nayib Bukele was one of the main forces in the promotion of Bitcoin status, and he seems to have a passion for Bitcoins. 

The president has been owning Bitcoins for years according to bloomberg.com, and the media talk about a Bitcoinification in El Salvador. It’s probably best proved in November 2021 when the president went on stage to present the new El Salvadorian prestige project: Bitcoin city.

The implementation of Bitcoins in El Salvador has its pros and cons. A huge part of the poor El Salvadorian economy is related to money earned in the USA which is transacted to accounts in El Salvador. But this isn’t a free service so the El Salvadoran economy is losing a lot of money in transaction fees. These fees can be avoided by using Bitcoins when you transfer between wallets, and therefore the cryptocurrency is seen as an advantage to the economy of El Salvador. 

But the citizens of El Salvador are also worried about the instability of the Bitcoin currency. In 2021 the Bitcoin has both been at record-high rates with a value of 67,000 dollars for 1 Bitcoin. But the currency has also been going down again for a rate of 30,000 dollars for 1 Bitcoin. This means that the people of El Salvador have the risk of losing big amounts of their savings when the rate goes down. 

 
In just half of a day, the value of Bitcoins can drop by more than 7 percent, as seen on November 26th, 2021. So, even though stores in El Salvador now have to accept Bitcoin payments, it’s still a low percentage of El Salvadorian transactions that are committed with Bitcoins. Nevertheless, the president still sees a huge potential in digital cryptocurrency.

Along with 27 other members of YSL, Young Thug—whose actual name is Jeffrey Lamar Williams born on August 16, 1991—was arrested in May 2022 and charged with 63 counts of illegal narcotic trafficking, handgun possession, and violation of the Georgia RICO Act.

His trial started in November 2023 after he was placed under remand in the Fulton County Jail without being granted bail.

After agreeing to a compromise that saw him enter a no-contest plea to many crimes, Williams was freed in October 2024 after receiving a time-served sentence and a 15-year probationary period.

 

In a sudden turn of events, rapper Young Thug was released from custody on Thursday after entering a guilty plea to accusations of illicit drugs and firearms charges as well as involvement in a criminal organization. This was the longest trial in Georgia’s history.

In May 2022, 28 suspected street gang members were indicted on counts of racketeering and other offenses, including the 33-year-old Atlanta musician Jeffery Lamar Williams.

The Grammy-winning musician, who is considered a major hip-hop influence, was one of 28 suspected gang members charged with a number of offenses under Georgia’s racketeering laws in 2022. According to the prosecution, Young Thug was the leader of the gang known as Young Slime Life or YSL, and he utilized his record label as a front for illegal activity.

The racketeering indictment listed murder, assault, carjacking, drug peddling, and theft as the underlying offenses.

The Grammy-winning rapper Young Thug admitted guilt to six other counts, including those involving drugs and firearms, but entered a no-contest plea to accusations of racketeering and being the head of a violent street gang.

According to the New York Times, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker, who took over as the trial’s judge, sentenced him to time served and 15 years of probation.

 

According to an online listing of Fulton County jail records, Young Thug was freed on Thursday under his given name. According to the database listing, the charges were resolved as “time served” or “probation.”

Opening arguments for the case did not take place until November 27, 2023, although jury selection started in January of that year.

Prosecutors said during opening arguments that Young Thug was the boss of a criminal organization that used his musical company, YSL, as a front.

According to Adriane Love, the prosecutor for Fulton County, “the evidence will show that YSL checks all of the boxes for being a criminal street gang.”

 

Love recited lyrics from Young Thug’s song “Take It To Trial,” stating that the lyrics had “an uncanny similarity to very true, and very real, and quite specific events,” as determined by the prosecution.

“We pursued the murder and discovered the lyrics, not the other way around,” she stated.

According to the defense, YSL is an acronym for Young Stoner Life Records, a hip-hop label that Young Thug established in 2016, and that, in their opinion, is more like a loose association of musicians than a gang.

Using the argument that “rap is the only fictional art form treated this way,” defense lawyers had attempted to have lyrics excluded from the evidence.

Taylor’s husband, Cameron Grigg, initially broke the news of her passing on October 5. In a heartfelt, lengthy message, he paid homage to the social media celebrity and said that his late wife’s passing was “sudden and unexpected.” Cameron added that she stays in the hospital to donate her organs. At the time, no further information about her death was made public.

In remembrance of Taylor, the TikToker’s sisters Bailey Rousseau Wagner and Trinity Rousseau also posted on Instagram. Trinity mentioned her sister’s passing “barely short” of turning nineteen.

Bailey shared a black-and-white picture of Taylor on her wedding day in August 2023 as a follow-up to her earlier Instagram post.

The caption included more information on Taylor’s organ donation which was set for Monday, October 7, at 9:30 a.m., the day after her passing.

“She has always wanted to make her mark on the world, but I don’t think she could have anticipated that her legacy would be preserved in this manner, even in her wildest fantasies. And I’m confident that she wouldn’t have preferred it any other way,” Bailey stated. She also mentioned that it couldn’t be more true when a friend remarked that “her “impact” had only recently begun.”

In his initial Instagram post, Cameron said that Taylor’s passing meant “we don’t have anything financially in order,” and he set up a GoFundMe, which they provided a link to.

Despite enduring great pain and suffering over the past year, according to her husband Cameron Grigg, she continued to be a lighthouse for those around her.

She never allowed her sickness to overshadow the joy she offered to other people, despite her challenges.

“She’s no longer in pain, but her body has been made whole in Jesus’ name,”

He disclosed that Taylor would have intended her last act of charity to be the donation of her organs, which is why her body is being maintained  by machines to preserve her organs for donation.

 

Taylor’s loved ones, friends, and supporters are devastated over her passing.

Since then, her husband has started a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral and medical costs, and the family is planning a benefit in Taylor’s honor.

Sidney Raymond Eudy (Sid Vicious) was born in West Memphis, Arkansas on December 16, 1960.

His height is 6 ft 9 in (206 cm) and his weight is 317 lb (144 kg).

Sid Eudy was an American professional wrestler and minor-league softball enthusiast. He was best known for his tenures in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

Sid Vicious was a six-time world champion, he won the WWF Championship twice, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice, and the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship twice.

He also held the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship once, among other accolades.

The 43-year-old singer and her 49-year-old husband Nelly announced the happy news of their first child’s arrival on Instagram.

Nelly and Ashanti got married on December 27, 2023.

 

“On July 18, 2024, Ashanti and Nelly welcomed Kareem Kenkaide Haynes into the world. The delighted and content parents adore KK so much!” A couple’s representative tells PEOPLE.

Ashanti included a video of herself flaunting her figure while wearing a blue robe in the Instagram carousel she published. The caption said, “Four weeks postpartum.” What this body is capable of, you have no idea.”

Cornell Iral Haynes Jr.  known by his stage name Nelly, is an American rapper, singer, and actor.

Nelly is already dad to son Cornell III (who goes by Tre), 25, and daughter, Chanelle (who goes by Nana), 30. The rapper also helped raise niece Sydney and nephew Shawn after his sister, Jackie Donahue died of leukemia at 31 in March 2005.

Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas-Haynes was born on October 13, 1980 in Glen Cove, New York.

She is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She was signed to Irv Gotti’s Murder Inc. Records under Def Jam Recordings in 2002 after being found as a teenager.

She appeared on two of the biggest songs of 2002, “What’s Luv?” by Fat Joe and “Always on Time” by Ja Rule, in that same year. With “Foolish” and “What’s Luv?” she became the first female artist to simultaneously occupy the top two slots on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 list.

When Ashanti’s self-titled first album was published in 2002, it sold more than 505,000 copies in its first week of release.

In addition to two American Music Awards, eight Billboard Music Awards, and a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album were won by the album. By the end of 2003, it had sold six million copies worldwide and received a triple platinum certification in the United States.

With the number one position for the single “Foolish” on the Billboard Hot 100, she became the second artist, after The Beatles, to have three consecutive top ten chart entries. Jennifer Lopez’s “Ain’t It Funny (Murder Remix)” was written by Ashanti and featured background vocals; the song peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

With 326,000 first-week sales, Ashanti’s second album, Chapter II, topped the Billboard 200 in 2003. The RIAA certified the album platinum for sales of over 1.5 million copies.

On the Billboard Hot 100, its singles “Rock wit U (Awww Baby)” and “Rain on Me” reached at positions two and seven, respectively. The singles were nominated for Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, and Chapter II was nominated for a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album.

She released Ashanti’s Christmas, a Christmas CD, in November 2003.

In 2004 the release of Concrete Rose, her fourth album, which became her third platinum-certified album debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200 with 254,000 first-week sales. “Only U” reached its highest position at number two on the UK Singles Chart and number thirteen on the Billboard Hot 100.

The second single, “Don’t Let Them,” didn’t do that well because of Def Jam’s Irv Gotti-related legal problems. The Declaration (2008), her fifth album and her last release on a major label, was met with a mediocre reaction. 2014 saw the independently released film Braveheart.

In addition, Ashanti pursued acting, making her screen debut in the 2005 movie Coach Carter and starring in The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz, which drew an audience of around eight million people.

She also starred in Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) and John Tucker Must Die (2006). Around 30 million recordings have been sold globally by Ashanti.
