Florida Parents Arrested for Alleged Child Abuse: Bodycam Footage Reveals Shocking Incident Involving 6-Year-Old

0

A troubling incident unfolded in Volusia County, Florida, as deputies took action following a concerning report from a local school.

Authorities detained two individuals, Jeffrey Morales and Melissa Husk, on Friday after their six-year-old daughter arrived at school with noticeable bruises on her face, raising alarms among school staff.

According to a statement from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) on social media, deputies were dispatched to the school after the girl’s injuries were observed, prompting an urgent investigation into the matter.

This story continues below.

VCSO officials disclosed that the young girl was a victim of physical abuse, which her parents allegedly attempted to conceal by keeping her home from school for two days. The child also reportedly informed investigators that she often goes hungry.

Following the investigation, deputies arrested 29-year-old Jeffrey Morales on charges of child abuse, while 35-year-old Melissa Husk faces charges of child neglect. Authorities allege that Husk was aware of the abuse but chose to conceal the situation rather than take action to protect her daughter.

“You’re her mom and you’re supposed to protect her, and you failed,” a deputy sergeant tells Husk on bodycam after explaining her charge.

Watch the bodycam video below:

The video also shows the moments the girl draws a picture for the sergeant who responded to the call, handing it to her. VCSO says the sergeant will be keeping the picture in her patrol car.

UCLA Baseball Shatters Records with Unprecedented 20-Game Big Ten Winning Streak

0

Earlier this week, UCLA’s baseball team saw their remarkable national winning streak come to an end. However, on Saturday, they managed to keep their impressive Big Ten streak alive, though it wasn’t without its challenges.

The Bruins found themselves trailing Minnesota by two runs after missing a prime opportunity, loading the bases with no outs but failing to capitalize. In need of a rally, UCLA turned to Mulivai Levu, who delivered just what the team needed. With two outs and two strikes, Levu hit a crucial two-run double to right field, igniting a four-run sixth inning that ultimately led to a 6-4 victory at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

With this win, the top-ranked Bruins improved their record to 35-3 and extended their winning streak in Big Ten play to 20 games, marking the best start in conference history for the program.

Mulivai Levu was more than happy to provide it, smacking a two-out, two-strike, two-run double to right field as part of a four-run sixth inning that powered UCLA to a 6-4 victory at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

The Bruins (35-3) have now won 20 consecutive games to open Big Ten play, extending their best conference start in program history.

“You usually don’t sit here in the middle of April and you haven’t lost a league game,” said UCLA coach John Savage, whose team’s 27-game winning streak was broken by UC Santa Barbara on Tuesday.

Levu and Roman Martin each tallied two hits and two RBIs for the Bruins. Leadoff hitter Dean West and Roch Cholowsky each reached base four times.

Payton Brennan started UCLA’s big sixth inning with a homer to right field. After Trey Gudoy walked and Cholowsky was hit by a pitch with two outs, Levu delivered his big hit, giving the Bruins a 4-3 lead. Martin followed with a run-scoring single to extend the advantage.

“Comebacks have been a huge part of our game,” Levu said. “I think we’re just a team that doesn’t give up.”

What it means

Savage pinpointed his team’s relentlessness in the face of adversity.

After striking out in his first two at-bats, Martin followed with a pair of run-scoring singles and made a strong throw across the infield to record an out.

“The day’s never over with, and that’s what our guys really believe in,” Savage said. “They put up two [runs to start the sixth inning], we put up four. It seems that we never give up.”

Savage said he was encouraged that his team continued to win while not playing its best baseball.

“Good teams, when they don’t play well and win games, that’s why they’re good teams,” Savage said, “so at the end of the day, you just kind of keep plugging away and you’ll get through that and get back to being us.”

Did you see that?

UCLA right fielder Brennan robbed Minnesota’s Jack Bello of an extra-base hit leading off the fifth inning with a leaping catch in front of the wall.

MVP

More than an hour after he delivered his big hit, Levu passed out Rice Krispies treats made by his aunt outside the clubhouse.

He was in a giving mood all day for a team that needed it.

With two on and two out in the sixth inning, Levu said he anticipated Minnesota reliever Tyler Hemmesch’s fateful pitch.

“I was sitting cutter because I knew it was going to come again,” Levu said, “so I was just trying to elevate the ball this time and try to make contact.”

Up next

The Bruins will try to sweep the Golden Gophers (22-16, 5-12) — and extend their conference winning streak — on Sunday at Jackie Robinson Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for noon.

Breaking News: Tucker Carlson’s Son Departs JD Vance’s White House Team – Here’s Why

0

Buckley Carlson, son of prominent conservative figure Tucker Carlson, has resigned from his position as deputy press secretary to Vice President JD Vance. This move coincides with his father’s intensifying conflict with President Donald Trump.

The news of Carlson’s resignation was initially covered by Politico, highlighting the growing discord between Trump and Tucker Carlson.

The friction has been exacerbated by significant disagreements regarding policies on the Iran war, further inflamed by Tucker Carlson’s provocative remark branding the president as potentially the ‘antichrist.’

Moving forward, Buckley Carlson intends to establish his own political consulting venture.

A representative from Vance’s office disclosed to the publication that, “Buckley communicated his decision to leave in December but remained for several months to ensure a seamless transition.”

His departure comes as his father, who was once one of Trump’s most influential media allies, has turned into one of his fiercest critics, particularly over the administration’s military campaign against Iran.

Behind the scenes, Tucker Carlson had attempted to stop the war days before Trump launched attacks.

According to The New York Times, he was among the ‘few voices lobbying against military action’ and personally warned Trump of the consequences.

The outlet reported on March 2 that Carlson ‘outlined the risks to US military personnel, energy prices and Arab partners in the region if the United States went to war with Iran,’ and urged the president not to be ‘boxed in by Israel,’ arguing that its push for confrontation was driving US policy.

Carlson’s advice was ignored and in the weeks since, the former Fox News host has unleashed a barrage of criticism, accusing the administration of waging war on behalf of Israel and denouncing the joint US-Israeli strikes that killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as ‘absolutely disgusting and evil.’

Trump has responded with characteristic fury.

In a series of public attacks, the president has repeatedly mocked Carlson, calling him a ‘low IQ’ person and, in a Truth Social post earlier this month, lumped him together with other conservative commentators.

‘I know why Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones have all been fighting me for years,’ Trump wrote. ‘Because they have one thing in common, Low IQs.

‘They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too! … They’ve all been thrown off Television… they’re NUT JOBS, TROUBLEMAKERS.’

Days later, Trump doubled down, calling Carlson a ‘LOSER’ and suggesting he ‘should see a good psychiatrist.’

But it was Carlson’s own words that detonated the most extraordinary escalation yet.

On a recent episode of The Tucker Carlson Show, the conservative firebrand broke sharply with the president over religion, accusing Trump of ‘mocking’ Christianity after sharing AI-generated images depicting himself alongside Jesus.

Carlson pointed to biblical warnings about a future figure described as a ‘man of lawlessness,’ often interpreted by some Christians as the antichrist – someone who ‘will oppose and exalt himself over everything that is worshipped.’

‘He will pose as God,’ Carlson said on the show. ‘He will mock other Gods, and put himself in their place.’

Referencing those passages, Carlson posed a question that sent shockwaves through conservative circles: ‘Could this be the antichrist?’

‘To a lot of Christians, these predictions in both the Old and New Testament seem to fit what we are watching… Here is a leader who is mocking the Gods of his ancestors… and exalting himself above them,’ he added.

Trump’s post showing himself with Jesus came days after the president also sparked backlash by sharing an image appearing to depict himself as Christ.

The image showed Trump in a white cloak healing a man in a hospital bed, which Trump later claimed was meant to show him as a doctor and not as Jesus.

Carlson was one of Fox News’s biggest stars until his abrupt firing in 2023 and was once close to Trump, whose views he was credited with strongly influencing.

The star has gone on to host a successful podcast and blasted Trump over his support of Israel and the bombing of Iran.

The remarks marked a dramatic break from a commentator who once championed Trump and was widely seen as helping shape the populist wing of the Republican Party.

While there is no indication Buckley Carlson’s departure was directly tied to his father’s comments, the overlap in timing, between his exit, the intensifying Trump-Carlson feud, and the incendiary ‘antichrist’ remarks underscores the growing instability within a movement once defined by its alignment behind Trump.

Trump also sparked furious backlash after he posted an AI-generated image seemingly depicting himself as Jesus Christ earlier this week

The fallout has rippled through the conservative ecosystem and placed Vice President JD Vance in an increasingly delicate position.

Right-wing commentator Ben Shapiro, who has his own ongoing feud with Carlson, said last week that people should ‘feel a little bit bad’ for Vance, noting that Carlson ‘helped’ him rise politically.

But Shapiro argued Vance must now distance himself, warning that continuing to ‘honor garbage’ like Carlson risks fracturing the coalition Republicans need to win upcoming elections.

That fracture now appears to have reached inside the administration itself.

US Appeals Court Greenlights Ongoing Construction of Trump’s White House Ballroom

WASHINGTON – A federal appeals court has granted President Donald Trump the green light to proceed with the $400 million ballroom project at the White House. This decision arrived just a day after a lower court judge had imposed a halt on the above-ground construction activities on the former East Wing site.

On Friday evening, a trio of judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit temporarily suspended the ruling by U.S. District Judge Richard Leon, which had stopped part of the construction. The appellate court has slated a hearing for June 5 to further deliberate on the case.

Judge Leon, in his Thursday decision, maintained a restriction on the above-ground development of the planned 90,000-square-foot (8,400-square-meter) ballroom addition. However, he permitted the continuation of underground work, including the construction of a bunker and other “national security facilities” at the location.

Trump tore down the East Wing last fall to build the massive ballroom in that space. The National Trust for Historic Preservation later sued to block construction, arguing that Trump had overstepped his authority by moving forward with the project without first getting approval from key federal agencies and Congress.

Leon ruled in favor of the nonprofit group at the end of March, but put his decision on hold for a brief period while allowing the underground work to continue. The administration appealed.

Trump has said the ballroom is a long-overdue addition to the White House complex and argues that he has the right to build it because the cost will be covered by donations from wealthy individuals and corporations, though taxpayer dollars will pay for the security aspects.

Holocaust Survivor from Auschwitz Raises Alarm on Escalating Antisemitism in Canada

0

AUSCHWITZ: Among the voices was that of Nate Leipciger, a Holocaust survivor hailing from Canada, who expressed deep concern over the increasing antisemitic incidents in his home country. He implored Canadian leaders to actively confront and address these growing threats.

Leipciger, now 98, shared his personal experiences during the march, highlighting recent disturbing incidents he faced in Toronto. He recounted how mezuzahs, sacred parchment scrolls, were forcibly removed from the doorways of apartments in his building—a direct affront to Jewish residents and their faith.

The situation escalated further in March when his synagogue became the target of a drive-by shooting, resulting in significant damage. “The front doors and lobby were destroyed,” Leipciger lamented during an interview with Fox News Digital. “It is terrible that we have lost our sense of security.”

The violence increased in March when his synagogue was also targeted in a drive-by shooting. “The front doors and lobby were destroyed. It is terrible that we have lost our sense of security,” Leipciger told Fox News Digital.

Holocaust survivor Nate Leipciger, 98, who participated in the March of the Living for the 22nd time, speaks at the ceremony that followed the march in Auschwitz-Birkenau on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

“Once you lose that, you no longer know when or where the next attack might occur. It is deeply troubling to live in a free, democratic country — where everyone is meant to have equal rights — and to be persecuted in this way,” he added.

Born in Poland in 1928, Leipciger was deported to Auschwitz in 1943. He survived multiple camps and a death march before being liberated in 1945, later immigrating to Canada in 1948.

The only way to prevent history from repeating itself, he said, is to advocate for the truth and confront deception and lies.

“The running is over. For centuries, we ran. We have to stand up for our right to live as Jews in any country, including Israel, as free citizens enjoying the fruits of Western culture, of which we are part,” he added.

Since the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, massacre, Canada has seen a sharp rise in antisemitism, with B’nai Brith Canada reporting 6,219 incidents in 2024 — more than double the number recorded in 2022.

While figures for 2025 have yet to be released, Public Safety Canada noted that from April to June 2025, “Among hate crimes targeting religion… the majority were directed at the Jewish community (69%).”

Canadian Jewish communities are “extremely concerned” about a surge in antisemitism, a reality conveyed by Israeli officials both privately and publicly to Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government.

“We are aware of extreme concern among Jewish communities in Canada about their safety and well-being, both as individuals and as communities, including their institutions,” Israeli Ambassador to Ottawa Ido Moed told Fox News Digital. “Israel views the recent attacks against synagogues as very serious and considers Canada among the high-risk countries in terms of shooting incidents.”

Moed said Israel has offered to expand cooperation with Canada across areas including education and security coordination, and has initiated roundtable discussions on policy, regulation and best practices.

U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism Yehuda Kaploun told Fox News Digital at Auschwitz that leadership accountability is critical to confronting antisemitism.

“It is incumbent upon law enforcement in various countries to designate terrorist organizations, as we have done with certain aspects of the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The world should do so collectively, and America is leading the way in that battle,” Kaploun said.

Earlier this month, shots were fired at a Jewish-owned restaurant in Toronto during Passover. In March, Israel’s minister of diaspora affairs and combating antisemitism, Amichai Chikli, sent a letter urging Ottawa to increase efforts to protect Jewish communities after three synagogues in the Toronto area were hit by gunfire within just one week.

Richard Marceau, senior vice president of strategic initiatives and general counsel at the Center for Israel and Jewish Affairs, noted that Jewish Canadians are 25 times more likely than any other group to be victims of hate crimes.

“What we have seen in Canada is an all-level systemic failure to address Jew-hatred,” he told Fox News Digital.

“Confronting this crisis is essential not only to protect the Jewish community, but to safeguard the future of the Canadian way of life,” he continued. “All levels of government must do more to protect Canadians, including ensuring robust and consistent enforcement of existing laws, improving transparency in prosecutorial decisions, strengthening support – including financially – for community security, and addressing the drivers of radicalization in Canada.”

SanJaya Wijayakoon, an RCMP superintendent in Vancouver who joined a global law enforcement delegation on the March of the Living, said engagement with the Jewish community is central to policing.

“A big part of our work is to build contacts and maintain strong relationships through which we can receive information, provide advice and guidance on ensuring safety, and, if something crosses the line into criminality, investigate it fully,” he said.

“I think as the years pass, fewer and fewer people within the police understand what happened in 1945 in Europe. Being in this program and on this march allows us to return and speak to our people about what I learned and observed, and they can apply it in their day-to-day work,” he added.

Sylvan Adams, president of the World Jewish Congress Israel Region, pointed to the recent synagogue shootings in Toronto and criticized the government’s response as insufficient.

“I would like to see the prime minister properly define the problem and stop pussyfooting around, pretending radical Islam does not exist,” Adams said.

“We are under attack. Foreign actors are operating in Western countries in three areas: they are sending radical imams into mosques, they are investing massive amounts of money in educational systems and they are targeting us on social media. I find the response by Western leaders, with the exception of President Trump, to be entirely lacking,” he said.

“Everyone in the West needs to wake up. They are trying to take away our freedom. It starts with the Jews but never ends with the Jews,” he added.

Fake Bieber Rep Executes $200K Coachella E.V. Rental Scam in Bold Heist

A Newport Beach rental company found itself at the center of a scam involving a supposed connection to pop sensation Justin Bieber, leaving them without four electric Mokes.

The scam unfolded when an individual, claiming to be part of Bieber’s team, made a last-minute plea for the vehicles, stating they were essential for transporting the artist between a private villa and the Coachella festival grounds. While there’s no evidence suggesting that Bieber or his entourage were involved, the name-drop added an air of authenticity to the request.

Chad Marta, owner of Newport Beach Moke, recounted the unexpected situation: “The night before, we received a call for a last-minute order—four cars for Coachella’s headliner. This type of request isn’t unusual for us. We’ve accommodated such demands many times before.”

Marta further expressed his disbelief over the incident, stating, “I didn’t want to disappoint the Biebers. I never imagined something like this would occur.”

  • Justin Bieber E.V. rental heist
  • 68th Annual Grammy Awards - Bieber

“I didn’t want to leave the Biebers high and dry. I never thought this would happen,” Marta continued.

But there were warning signs, including a $20,000 deposit that never went through.

“I didn’t think anything of it because he was scatter-brained and that’s normal. He said his wire got out a little late, we should have it in the morning,” he said.

The cars were delivered to Palm Desert but, within hours, something seemed off. “(GPS signals showed) that we have a moving vehicle going down the 10 Freeway west. I realized, they’re not going 30 miles an hour, they’re on a flatbed,” Marta said.

When Marta called the renter, the man claiming to be with Bieber’s team insisted everything was fine. “He’s like, ‘What are you talking about?’ I go, ‘What am I talking about? It’s my cars going down the 10 Freeway, what are you talking about?” Marta said.

Marta said he immediately called CHP, hoping to stop the vehicles before they reached the border. He said, “I was tracking them down the 215 to the 15, Escondido. I go, ‘They’re heading towards the border, stop these cars, stop the train.’”

But it was too late. “I watched those cars go across the border into Tijuana,” Marta said.

Shortly after, the GPS signals went dark and the cars were nowhere to be found. “They probably were taken out and just tossed,” he said.

The loss amounted to more than $200,000 — hitting a major portion of his business. “It takes away a third of the business,” Marta said. “It’s a big hit.”

While the scammers may owe him a “sorry,” Marta said what he really wants is his cars back. “Maybe they’re coming back for weekend two. I can only pray and hope.”

Never say never.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said they’re investigating the case, but the owner told KTLA he’s hopeful someone seeing this story might have information that leads to an arrest.

AI Error Triggers False School Shooting Alert in Missouri

0

In Mt. Vernon, Missouri, a technical error sparked alarm when a false alert about a school shooting was mistakenly dispatched to the community.

The confusion stemmed from CrimeRadar, an application that employs artificial intelligence to monitor crime and public safety. The app malfunctioned, erroneously notifying residents of a shooting at Mt. Vernon Elementary School—a shooting that never occurred.

CrimeRadar explained that the mishap was due to their automated system misinterpreting emergency dispatch audio. Instead of the dispatch saying “show me,” the system inaccurately registered it as “shooting,” triggering the misleading alert.

In response, the school swiftly implemented lockdown procedures to ensure the safety of students. Sheriff Brad DeLay praised the Mt. Vernon School District and Superintendent Christina West for their prompt and effective response, acknowledging their “excellent job” during the incident.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office reported that CrimeRadar issued an apology, stating: “On the morning of April 10th, an alert posted by the CrimeRadar app incorrectly reported a shooting at Mount Vernon Elementary. We deeply regret the distress this caused to families, teachers, students, law enforcement, and the broader community. We recognize the seriousness of this mistake and have taken measures to prevent future occurrences.”

Per CrimeRadar’s statement, the app has had its audio processing and “contextual recognition protocols” updated and strengthened the verification process for any incidents involving schools and firearms.

Sheriff DeLay says he gives “kudos” to the app for accepting responsibility for what happened, and for taking actions to prevent it from happening again anywhere else.

Jessica Alba and Danny Ramirez Share Romantic PDA-Filled Evening in Los Angeles

Jessica Alba and Danny Ramirez recently enjoyed a night out in Los Angeles, and they weren’t alone for their romantic evening.

The couple was spotted heading to dinner at Avra restaurant in Beverly Hills over the weekend. Alba, known for her role in “Honey,” sported a stylish black leather jacket paired with wide-leg jeans. Ramirez, who stars in “Captain America: Brave New World,” coordinated with her in a similar black leather jacket.

One photograph captured the duo sharing a tender kiss, their arms wrapped affectionately around each other.

Ramirez, 33, completed his laid-back look with a casual baseball cap as he leaned in for the kiss, while Alba accessorized with chic glasses and a quilted handbag.

In another charming image, Alba couldn’t help but laugh as their unexpected companion, her youngest son Hayes Warren, 8, playfully hid under her jacket.

Hayes — whom Alba shares with ex-husband Cash Warren — was also seen standing nearby as the couple chatted during their Friday night out.

The “Sin City” star, 44, announced that she and Cash, 46, were splitting after nearly 17 years of marriage in January 2025. They  finalized their divorce in February.

“I’ve been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,” she began on Instagram at the time.

“I’m proud of how we’ve grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals,” Alba wrote in part in a January 2025 statement;.

The former power couple also share daughters Honor, 17, and Haven, 14.

Alba and Ramirez have been romantically linked since May 2025, when they were spotted locking lips during a romantic day date at London’s Regent’s Park — though the actor wasn’t identified as Alba’s love interest until months later, when they were spotted heading from Los Angeles to Cancún, Mexico, for a getaway in July 2025.

That month, they were also snapped packing on the PDA outside of Ramirez’s Los Angeles home. They’ve since been spotted on a number of romantic date nights and beach getaways.

Warren, meanwhile, has been seen stepping out with model Hana Sun Doerr, 25, and Seanna Pereira, 20.

Eric Swalwell’s Campaign Finances: $75K Spent on High-End Events

0

After withdrawing from the California governor’s race, Eric Swalwell continued to spend extensively from his campaign funds, accumulating over $75,000 in charges for various controversial expenses. These included payments for alcohol, membership at an exclusive private club, and remuneration for his Brazilian nanny.

According to a recent Federal Election Commission filing, “Swalwell for Congress” incurred $76,900 in expenditures during the first quarter of the year. This spending spree occurred even after the congressman, who has faced considerable scrutiny, exited the race in November.

Swalwell resigned from his congressional position on Monday and formally ended his gubernatorial campaign following a series of sexual assault allegations that surfaced against him.

The former congressman is facing increased criticism for continuing to utilize campaign funds for high-end expenses despite his withdrawal from the political race.

The detailed 135-page filing, obtained by the Daily Mail, outlines the campaign’s expenditures from January 1 to March 31, shedding light on how the funds were allocated during that period.

There were multiple receipts made out to his Brazilian nanny, Amanda Barbosa, who received thousands of dollars in campaign finance funds in the first quarter of 2026.

FEC records previously reviewed by the Daily Mail indicated that Barbosa received $46,930 in funds in 2022.

NOTUS estimated a total of $72,000 on childcare expenses throughout 2025, paid by Swalwell’s campaign.

Swalwell and his wife, Brittany Watts, are being investigated for employing Barbosa after her temporary work authorization allegedly expired.

Barbosa was legally authorized to work as Swalwell’s nanny from January 2021 to December 2022, according to complaints filed with the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Labor by reporter and documentary maker Joel Gilbert.

When her visa ended, the Swalwells began the process of applying to sponsor her for a green card, and Barbosa enrolled in community college, according to the complaint.

However, the complaint alleged that Swalwell kept Barbosa employed between January 2023 and February 2025 despite her allegedly lacking proper visa status.

Some of the other expenses include three different charges for $1,598 on February 11 to Stanford Hotels Corporation, a hotel in San Francisco. The same charge also appeared three times on February 6.

In January, he charged $44 for Harry’s Reserve, a liquor store in Washington DC. He charged $293 for Talay Thai restaurant, an upscale dining spot in Sacramento, on February 24, and then again for $198.40 on March 27.

There are also multiple charges at The Battery, a San Francisco members’ club, including a $664 charge on March 17 and a $520 charge on February 18.

The filing also includes over 80 pages of charges exclusively for Uber and Uber Eats. He also paid $637 to Cook Construction LLC on March 18 for internet and television services.

There are multiple charges for Google LLC, Zoom, Apple and other internet services. Swalwell’s congressional campaign also paid thousands to various airlines for flights.

Some of the more random charges in the FEC filing include a $273 charge to See’s Candles for gifts and a $186 charge to a shop in Salt Lake City called Spoonful of Comfort that sends care packages of chicken noodle soup.

According to the FEC, campaign funds can be used after an election for ‘winding down costs,’ including moving expenses, gifts and charitable donations.

Campaign funds may also be used for childcare expenses if a candidate is actively running for office.

Swalwell’s political career came crashing down last week when multiple women detailed alleged horrific encounters with the Democrat politician.

A former model and fashion software company owner, Lonna Drewes, accused Swalwell of rape in a news conference on Tuesday.

After the news broke, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement that its Special Victims Bureau would be investigating the matter.

Swalwell has denied the allegations against him. He apologized in a statement for ‘mistakes in judgment’ from his past, but vowed to fight the claims against him.

His colleagues have come out in support of the alleged victims, including his former ally, Senator Ruben Gallego.

‘Eric Swalwell lied to all of us. He lied to the most powerful people in this country, and they trusted him,’ Gallego told reporters, adding, ‘That clouded my judgment.’

Swalwell has not been formally accused of misusing campaign funds. The Daily Mail has reached out to the FEC and Swalwell’s attorney for comment.
