Lawyers Report Persistent Concerns Over Conditions at Texas Facility for Detained Immigrant Children

0

In recent months, close to 600 immigrant children have been detained at a family detention center in Texas, experiencing insufficient food, inadequate medical care, and a lack of mental health services. This has occurred as their stay extended beyond the time limits set by court mandates, according to documents submitted to the court on Friday.

Among those detained at the Dilley detention facility were 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his father, who faced virus outbreaks and prolonged lockdowns during December and January. These conditions have persisted, even as the number of children at the facility has decreased in recent weeks, as detailed in attorney reports and observations from site visits.

Liam Conejo Ramos’s case attracted significant attention, particularly because of his young age and the circumstances under which he was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Minnesota, wearing a blue bunny hat. His situation sparked outrage and protests against the Trump administration’s stringent immigration policies, with detainees inside Dilley expressing their dissent by holding signs within the fenced yards.

Despite a decrease in numbers, with approximately 85 children still held at Dilley last week, the troubling conditions remain, according to Mishan Wroe, a directing attorney at the National Center for Youth Law, who visited in mid-March. Earlier, in February, a legal advocate noted the presence of about 280 children.

The recent filings relate to a lawsuit initiated in 1985, which culminated in the 1997 establishment of court-ordered standards, including a 20-day limit on custody. The Trump administration, however, is seeking to terminate the Flores settlement, which underpins these protections.

“For years, the Flores consent decree has been a tool of the left that is antithetical to the law and wastes valuable U.S. taxpayer funded resources,” the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement. “Being in detention is a choice.”

Attorneys for detainees highlighted the government’s data showing longer custody times for immigrant children, and also cited worms in food, and poor access to medical care or sufficient legal counsel as reported by families and monitors at federal facilities.

“Dilley remains a hellhole,” said Leecia Welch, the chief legal director at Children’s Rights, who visits Dilley regularly to ensure compliance. “Although the number of children has decreased, the suffering remains the same.”

Dilley is retrofitted for families, who receive basic necessities including adequate food and water while in detention, and the Trump administration is working to quickly deport detainees, the DHS spokesperson added.

A report from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement showed that about 595 immigrant children were held in custody for more than the 20-day limit in December and January, with some stretching into months, per the filing.

“Approximately 265 of these children were detained for more than 50 days and a shocking 55 children were detained more than 100 days,” the filing stated.

That is up from a previous government disclosure late last year that showed from August to September, 400 children had been held at Dilley beyond the 20-day limit. DHS did not respond to questions seeking comment on the data.

Chief U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee of the Central District of California is scheduled to have a hearing on the case later this month.

Rhapsody Of Realities 18 March 2026: Stick To The Word

Rhapsody Of Realities 18 March 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): Stick To The Word

TOPIC: Stick To The Word (Rhapsody of Realities 18 March 2026)

…yea, let God be true, but every man a liar… (Romans 3:4).

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

God’s Word never fails; it is truth and produces what it talks about. Titus 1:2 tells us that God cannot lie. It brings to mind an encounter I had with a blind man many years ago in one of our meetings. After praying for him, the Lord told me he had been healed. So I approached him and asked, “Sir, can you see me?” He said, “No.” His eyes were completely shut, and the crowd began to laugh.

Nevertheless, I stood firm on what the Lord had told me and declared before everyone, “God said this man has been healed, and God cannot lie.” Though the man insisted he couldn’t see, I remained unruffled. And after a few minutes, his eyes opened, and he began to rejoice that he could see. If I hadn’t acted on the truth of God’s Word, he might have gone back home blind. Stick to the Word, and you’d surely have a testimony.

On another occasion, the Lord showed me a striking vision. He put a man before me and said, “This man was diagnosed with cancer, but look at him, there’s no cancer in his body.” And indeed, when I looked, there was no cancer. Then the Lord said, “But he will die of cancer.” Shocked, I asked, “Why will he die if there’s no cancer?”

And the Lord replied, “Because he believes the report he was given.” That’s the difference between facts and truth. Human diagnosis may present a fact, but God’s Word reveals the truth. The man would die, not because there was cancer in him, but because he chose to believe the wrong report, and his faith in that report created the cancer.

Many Christians struggle with flaws simply because they believe in them rather than see themselves from the standpoint of God’s Word. As long as you keep saying, “I have this weakness, I have this flaw,” you’ll live in that struggle. But when you believe and declare God’s Word, and see yourself the way He sees you in the Word, you’ll live triumphantly every day. Your life blossoms from glory to glory when you stick to the Word, speaking and living accordingly.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for bringing me into perfection in Christ Jesus. My words are consistent with your truth, and I walk in the consciousness of who I am in Christ. I live beyond human limitations, manifesting your glory and righteousness. My life glows from glory to glory because I live in and by your Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

One Nation’s Historic Victory Sends Strong Signal in Latest Election Surge

0
One Nation is set to join South Australia‘s lower house after converting surging support in the polls into a historic foothold in the state election.

In a sweeping triumph, the Labor Party celebrated a historic victory, while Pauline Hanson’s party harnessed widespread discontent with established political norms. This led to One Nation achieving its most significant electoral success in Australia in decades, leaving the Liberal Party in disarray.

Pauline Hanson, the leader of One Nation, expressed optimism about the future, stating, “This marks a new beginning for South Australia and for Australia as a whole.” She further declared her intent to expand the party’s influence, adding, “This will send a clear message. I’m not stopping at South Australia; I’m setting my sights on the seat of Farrer in the upcoming New South Wales by-election, and then on to Victoria.”

In the lower house of South Australia, the Labor Party is set to significantly bolster its majority, securing at least 32 seats and possibly expanding to 35. In stark contrast, the Liberals are left holding only four seats, with limited prospects of retaining up to three more.

In South Australia’s lower house, the Labor Party will increase its majority to at least 32 and could gain as many as 35 seats.

The Liberals have only four with slim hope that they could hold another three.

One Nation’s David Payton, the Adelaide Plains Council deputy mayor, won the seat of Ngadjuri, the party’s first lower house seat won at an election outside of Queensland.

The party is on track for at least two seats in the lower house and at least another in the upper house, where SA One Nation leader Cory Bernardi is its lead candidate.

The votes are still being counted and the results won’t be known for days in some elections.

“We can and should wave our flag with pride knowing that Aussie patriotism sometimes means sitting with a stranger and sharing a cuppa or a frothy,” he said.

While most of the state went to the polls supporting Labor, more than one in five South Australians backed One Nation, which overtook the Liberals as the second most popular in the state.

One Nation leads the Liberal Party in two-thirds of lower house seats and outside of Adelaide, they lead all parties in total vote, figures that will likely scare the major parties in other states and in Canberra.

“I think the lesson from that not just in South Australia but federally is that people are angry,” former opposition leader David Littleproud said.

As the results became clear, the Liberals were baying for blood, not blaming current leader Ashton Hurn but demanding an apology from former leader David Speirs.

Chilling Home Invasion: Intruder’s Disturbing Words Before Alleged Assault on Mother and Baby

0

An Oregon resident is facing serious accusations after allegedly committing a series of assaults, during which he ominously told a woman, “Honey, I’m here,” before attempting to rape her, as per the authorities.

Judson Curtis Defir has been charged with first-degree attempted rape and first-degree kidnapping in connection with events that took place on March 15, which reportedly ended in an attack on a mother inside her Oregon home.

The Portland Police Department reported that the incidents began on the morning of March 15. Defir allegedly accosted two women walking in a neighborhood, then proceeded to inappropriately touch a woman inside a church, before ultimately entering a woman’s home in Portland, according to their statement.

Chief Bob Day expressed, “Our thoughts are with the women who endured these terrifying experiences. We are thankful for their bravery in coming forward. I also want to commend the rapid and coordinated efforts of our patrol officers and detectives, whose swift actions were instrumental in apprehending the suspect and restoring a sense of safety to the community.”

Judson Curtis Defir is Accused of Entering Woman’s Home

Authorities were summoned to the area following a disturbance report. Upon arrival at the home of a mother of two, they found her “sobbing uncontrollably” as she reported the attempted rape, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Oxygen.

The woman told police, per the affidavit, that she had been in an upstairs bedroom with her children, ages 3 and 10 months, when she heard a man—later identified as Defir—come inside, walk up the stairs and call out, “Honey, I’m here.”

She described the man, according to the court records, as standing about 6 feet tall with messy brown hair wearing a black hoodie and colored pants and told police that he “smelled dirty” like he hadn’t recently bathed.

As he began to approach her in the bedroom, she moved her 3-year-old behind her in a corner, as she held her baby in her arms. The man allegedly grabbed her and pulled her into another bedroom before forcing her onto the bed.

“He pressed down on her back and hips and began to pull her sweatpants down, exposing her bottom,” Multnomah County Deputy District Attorney Melissa Marrero wrote in the affidavit.  “[The victim] was face-down on the bed and held the baby in her arms.”

The woman was able to convince Defir to let her put the baby down in a crib in another room, authorities said.

After placing the baby down, she went into the room where her 3-year-old was waiting and barricaded the door with a bookshelf “in hopes of keeping the male out of the bedroom,” Marrero wrote.

As he struggled to make his way inside, the woman walked out onto a balcony and began to call for help, alerting her husband, who was working in the yard, and other people at a nearby church.

Although they ran to help, Defir had already fled, according to authorities.

About 15 people from the area had started to follow him and when police officers arrived, they pointed to the suspect.

Defir was detained and officers learned that he had two active warrants out for his arrest, according to the affidavit.

As he was being arrested, Sgt. Rehanna Kerridge reported that he allegedly leered at her, then asked, “Hey Kerridge wanna f–k? You’re hot,” Marrero wrote.

Judson Defir Allegedly Told Police He’d Taken Meth

During a later interview with detectives Defir allegedly told the investigators that he had smoked meth that morning before going to church, where he ate pancakes. He told investigators that after church he had been in a house with a woman and two kids and the woman “screamed.”

He told detectives, per the affidavit, that he had been trying to get past the woman when he “accidentally bumped” into her and had considered “jumping from the second floor to get out of there.”

“Defir said he left that house and people were following him,” Marrero wrote. “He said he was trying to get away from them. He said people were following him and eventually the police arrested him.”

Police have said the investigation remains ongoing and asked anyone with information about the alleged incidents to contact authorities.

“This is a shocking crime,” Multnomah County District Attorney Nathan Vasquez told Oxygen. “People have a right to feel safe in their own homes. My office will do everything in its power to make sure justice is served in this case.”

Defir is currently being held without bail, according to The Oregonian. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney. Oxygen reached out to the public defender’s office but did not receive an immediate reply.

Exploring the Unique Hand Characteristics of Kate and the Royal Family: Insights from a Palmistry Expert

0

Earlier this month, the Princess of Wales captivated onlookers as she stepped onto a lifeboat on the River Thames in London, her warm wave met with enthusiastic cheers from royal admirers.

Observant fans might have spotted an intriguing detail about the 44-year-old royal’s hands—her middle finger is nearly the same length as her index and ring fingers, unlike the typical hand where the middle finger is noticeably longer.

Palmistry expert Johnny Fincham suggests this unusual trait is no mere coincidence. Instead, it offers a glimpse into the Princess’s personality, according to the principles of palmistry.

Fincham, who authored “Palmistry: From Apprentice to Pro in 24 Hours,” applies scientific and psychological analysis of hand and finger shapes, textures, sizes, prints, and lines to glean insights into individuals’ lives.

Through his study of the Royal Family’s hands, Fincham has uncovered intriguing aspects of their personalities, including insights into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s ‘worrying’ destiny and his ‘addiction to pleasure.’

Meanwhile, the York sisters’ hands, according to Johnny, point to one ‘sensitive’ sister who ‘needs protection’ – while the second is ‘fiery’ and determined to stand on her own.

Read on to discover what the strikingly distinctive hands of the Royal Family tell us about their personalities…

KATE’S GOT A REAL SOCIAL CONSCIENCE

Perhaps the most unusual aspect of Kate's hands is that her middle finger is almost the same length as her index and ring fingers; most people's are noticeably longer

Perhaps the most unusual aspect of Kate’s hands is that her middle finger is almost the same length as her index and ring fingers; most people’s are noticeably longer

Perhaps the most unusual aspect of Kate’s hands is that her middle finger is almost the same length as her index and ring fingers; most people’s are noticeably longer.

While our middle finger isn’t affected by oestrogen and testosterone in the womb because it has fewer hormone receptors, for palm readers, the length of this finger carries a crucial significance.

‘Kate’s middle finger should stand 2cm longer than the others,’ Johnny said, continuing, ‘That it doesn’t, indicates she has an enormous sympathy with the outsider. She’s strongly geared towards the underdog.’

However, the royals may be in for a shock in the coming years. ‘As Kate gets older, she may want to escape the restrictions of royal life. Many such people end up living in a land outside of the one they were born in.’

Palmists believe the shape of your palm says a lot about you, with four basic types, one for each element: fire, water, earth and air.

‘Kate has an air palm – it’s square, with long, thin fingers and quite bony, pale hands,’ Johnny said.

‘People with air palms are quiet, refined, intelligent, sensitive and articulate. They don’t usually like to get into a situation where there are too many impediments on their freedom. They like to come and go as they please and travel a lot.

‘While they can be charming, they are often hard to pin down, somewhat unknowable and aloof.’

Kate’s slim little finger is longer than normal, a sign of curiosity about the world and an ability to engage and influence others. ‘Such people are usually good with money and use words well,’ says the expert, ‘but more likely to stray romantically.’

ANDREW’S TWISTED FATE AND ‘ADDICTION TO PLEASURE’

Of special note is his 'worrying' fate line, which runs vertically up the centre of the palm - as other features suggest an 'addiction to pleasure'

Of special note is his ‘worrying’ fate line, which runs vertically up the centre of the palm – as other features suggest an ‘addiction to pleasure’

Johnny described Andrew’s hand – ‘a square palm with short, stubby fingers’ – as ‘an earth hand’, meaning he has an ‘affinity with the physical, practical and material world’.

However, of special note is his ‘worrying’ fate line, which runs vertically up the centre of the palm – and features which suggest an ‘addiction to pleasure’.

‘It bends up from the radial side of the palm, showing a serious lack of gravity, duty and obedience,’ Johnny described.

‘This line bends away from the lifeline, showing him avoiding family protocols, being his own man, someone that makes his own rules and without a drive to achieve aims set by the family.’

Elsewhere, the disgraced Duke has ‘enormous’ bottom phalanges too, which the expert said ‘denotes a highly sensual nature, someone that loves luxury and the pleasures of the senses’.

‘He can get stuck in a cycle of needing constant “hits” sexually, gastronomically and in terms of touch,’ Johnny continued. ‘Large base phalanges often give an addiction to pleasure.’

However, Andrew’s hands also point to inner turmoil.

‘The index (Jupiter) digit is short and slightly bent, giving a lack of independence and a serious lack of inner confidence,’ Johnny explained.

‘Though this would be hidden by a love of display, indicated by the long ring (Apollo) finger.

And his pinky could suggest ‘opportunist’ tendencies, the palmistry pro added.

‘The little finger, ruled by Mercury is long and sticking out,’ Johnny said. ‘This is a classic sign of someone with a sharp sense of humour and something of a charmer who is “on the lookout” in terms of relationships – an opportunist who will hook onto an encounter outside the bounds of formal marriage.

‘The bar line joining the head line and heart line shows great difficulty in letting go in terms of love and romance: he has a sense of ownership in matters of the heart. This does, however show a huge sense of commitment in terms of family and children.’

Johnny added: ‘He likes things which are tangible, real and which can be seen and touched. He has an inherent distrust of abstract ideas, intellectual approaches to life and to reading and study in general.

‘Earth types like traditional organised structures, they place enormous trust in institutions and family. They instinctively want to preserve traditions and love history and can live very much in the past.

‘There is an affinity and love of nature and of outdoor pursuits. Like all earth types, Andrew would have a natural physicality and will have a love of good food and outdoor exercise. He can be prone to being lazy when unmotivated and can be somewhat insensitive with a crude sense of humour.’

PRINCE PHILIP’S LOVE OF LUXURY

Palmistry expert Johnny pointed out that Prince Philip's fingers were extremely wide at the base, then tapered off at the fingertips

Palmistry expert Johnny pointed out that Prince Philip’s fingers were extremely wide at the base, then tapered off at the fingertips

Palmistry expert Johnny pointed out that Prince Philip’s fingers were extremely wide at the base, then tapered off at the fingertips.

‘This is the sign of someone who’s very tactile and wants the best of everything,’ he said.

‘They’re very fussy about the food they eat, they have an exquisite taste in wine and want to live in luxury.

‘This also applies to their attitude to the opposite sex – they want to have a beautiful partner.’

If your fingers have thin, athletic bases, then you’re the opposite. ‘A lot of Buddhist monks have this type of finger,’ said Johnny.

‘SENSITIVE’ BEATRICE ‘NEEDS TO BE PROTECTED’

According to Johnny, 'sensitive' Beatrice has a 'water hand', meaning the palm is 'rectangular with long fingers' - and will need 'protecting'

According to Johnny, ‘sensitive’ Beatrice has a ‘water hand’, meaning the palm is ‘rectangular with long fingers’ – and will need ‘protecting’

According to Johnny, ‘sensitive’ Beatrice has a ‘water hand’, meaning the palm is ‘rectangular with long fingers’ – and will need ‘protecting’.

‘Water handed people are highly sensitive, vulnerable and highly cultured, with a strong sense of compassion for others,’ he explained.

‘She won’t be terribly good and withstanding the slings and arrows of unpopularity and experiencing negativity.

‘Her hand shows a strong sense of empathy and a need to be protected. She will be sympathetic to the needs of others and will want to insure herself against loss and hurt. Often females with water hands marry someone older and more secure financially and solid than themselves to have someone to lean on.’

He pointed out that her index finger standing out away from the other digits is ‘an indication of someone that doesn’t want to rely on her parents as a stable influence’.

‘She will want to put distance, both physical and psychological, away from her parents as soon as she is able and will want stability from her partner or from her own capacity to establish it,’ he added.

‘The middle (Saturn) finger is also bent, this shows a bent and unstable parenting, and one that she would be keen to avoid repeating with her own children.

‘The two digits (Jupiter and Saturn) show a strong sense of wanting a very different life for herself than the role she was brought up to fulfil. However, her sensitive nature will mean that she will avoid great displays of complaint and rebellion, she will move quietly and discreetly through life.’

Johnny also described a strong ‘headline’, which is slightly curved and ‘very fine in nature’.

‘She is clearly well educated and highly intelligent. There is articulacy and a gift for language and communication,’ he continued.

‘The heart line is fine and curved, showing a good capacity to relate and for romance. The many fine lines of the radial side of the palm show a high level of stress.’

‘BUBBLY’ EUGENIE IS DETERMINED TO CARVE OUT HER OWN PATH

'Eugenie has a fire hand - a rectangular palm with medium length fingers,' Johnny shared - meaning she is determined to stand on her own two feet

‘Eugenie has a fire hand – a rectangular palm with medium length fingers,’ Johnny shared – meaning she is determined to stand on her own two feet

‘Eugenie has a fire hand – a rectangular palm with medium length fingers,’ Johnny shared – meaning she is determined to stand on her own two feet.

‘This is a very different personality to her sister – outgoing, extrovert, lively and bubbly,’ he said.

‘She has a drive to perform, achieve and attain goals and is going to be very much the stronger and more robust sister.

‘The fire hand can make for someone that jumps in with both feet, without considering all the possible outcomes, so there is always the capacity to leap in too fast and make mistakes.’

Her features also point to high ambitions and independence.

‘Her index (Jupiter) finger is very long. This shows a bossy and very much a controlling pattern, she can be a little overwhelming at times,’ the palmistry expert said.

‘The long index shows a responsible, confident and protective instinct towards those close to them, so she will be the one to reach out and to guard and protect her mother and sister when they are battered by the currents of life.

‘She has a strong drive to push herself to ideal levels and to get what she wants. Her high expectations for herself will mean she will want a fantastic marriage, a wonderful house, beautiful children and will be a little unrealistic in her ambitions.’

Meanwhile, other details suggest she sometimes acts before she speaks.

‘The head line is tied to the lifeline and so not so well educated, refined and intelligent as her older sister,’ Johnny added.

‘This may be a problem, as she won’t think things through before speaking and acting. This is a demanding personality, but one that will try hard to live up her ideals and will put the work in.

‘Like her sister, she has a bent middle (Saturn) finger, so will want to bring up her own children in a very different manner than within her own upbringing.

‘She is much quicker on her feet than her sister and less prone to worry about hurts and criticisms in general. She has a lot of activity lines, so is always up to something: lots of projects on the go and probably a lot of social and business connections.’

Meghan Markle Embraces Motherhood through Poetry: Author Responds to Royal Endorsement

0

Meghan Markle recently shared that she’s delving into a poetry book focused on the theme of motherhood, a thoughtful gift she received from a fellow mother friend.

The book, titled “The Bloom Because of You,” authored by Jessica Urlichs, caught the attention of the 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex, leaving the writer pleasantly surprised by the endorsement.

On Monday, Meghan posted a brief Instagram video where she was seen flipping through the pages of Jessica’s latest collection, showcasing her interest in the New Zealand poet’s work.

“The Bloom Because of You” is characterized as a heartfelt compilation celebrating the profound experience and importance of being a mother.

In the clip, Meghan appeared to be enjoying a peaceful moment with the poetry book on a sunny spring day in Montecito, California, whispering her admiration for it, calling it “so good.”

The clip showed Meghan had folded down the edges of certain pages in Jessica’s book, including one with the poem ‘Vows I Didn’t Write’ about marriage.

After Meghan’s social media shoutout, Jessica said she was ‘honoured beyond words’ by the Duchess’s praise in an Instagram Reel.

Meghan left a comment under Jessica’s post as she revealed her ‘mom friend, Christina shared it with me’ and added The Bloom Because of You is her ‘current bedside book’.

‘From one mama to another – thank you,’ Meghan wrote.

Author Jessica Urlichs has since reacted to the 44-year-old’s endorsement of her book The Bloom Because of You with ‘shock’

Jessica’s new book was published on March 3 and the author said she couldn’t believe it was ‘touching so many mums around the world’ after Meghan’s glowing review.

‘Look who just shared my book,’ Jessica wrote over a video of her covering her mouth.

She captioned the post: ‘When Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, shares your book, you go into shock, you share, and you celebrate. I’m so honoured beyond words. I love how this book is touching so many mums around the world. What a huge moment x’

Meghan previously revealed she was struggling to find the time to read.

During an interview on The Circuit with Bloomberg’s Emily Chang last August, Meghan stopped by the Godmothers bookstore in Montecito.

Walking through the space, Meghan admitted she hadn’t gotten stuck into a book she enjoys in a ‘long time.’

She claimed her main priority at the moment was ‘kids’ books and parenting books’.

The interview was aired ahead of the release of season two of Meghan’s Netflix show, which has since been cancelled by the streamer.

The Christmas special attracted scathing reviews from critics, who accused Meghan of being ‘out of touch’ in the ‘tectonically tacky’ show.

In the wake of Netflix axing the cookery show, Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever has also split from the California-based media giant.

The Duchess of Sussex announced a partnership with the company a year ago when it commissioned a new season of her show, With Love, Meghan.

The deal gave Netflix a stake As Ever, which includes her jam, rosé wine and flower sprinkles.

Insiders claim Meghan thought Netflix was being too ‘cautious’ and wants to ‘go global’, believing her brand can ‘stand on its own’.

Meanwhile, insiders at Netflix were ‘not happy’ with the brand because customers showed ‘no appetite’ for it.

The Netflix source told the Daily Mail that there has been some consternation at their HQ in Sunset Boulevard over claims Meghan felt they had been ‘too cautious’ with her As Ever brand – and had held her back.

‘Netflix were not happy’, the Daily Mail’s insider said today.

The source claimed that Netflix had considered how they could sell As Ever products in their two new bricks and mortar stores in Philadelphia and Dallas in the US – off the back of her TV show With Love, Meghan.

But it never happened.

‘They were not happy with the fact that no one really cared about the brand – so when they were looking to create As Ever areas in Netflix House there was no appetite for it’, the source claimed.

‘It just didn’t fit with Squid Game or Stranger Things or Bridgerton like they had hoped.’

The Bloom Because of You is described as a collection of poems that is 'a testament to the significance of mothering'

Commenting on the end of the partnership deal, a spokesperson for As Ever said: ‘We have experienced meaningful and rapid growth and As ever is now ready to stand on its own.’

A statement from Netflix read: ‘Meghan’s passion for elevating everyday moments in beautiful yet simple ways inspired the creation of the As ever brand, and we are glad to have played a role in bringing that vision to life.

‘As it was always intended, Meghan will continue growing the brand and take it into its next chapter independently.’

On Monday, Meghan shared a series of Instagram Stories to offer a glimpse into her family’s spring preparations, including a rare snippet of her daughter Lilibet’s flowing red hair.

She could be seen preparing a floral arrangement in one video, as her husband, Prince Harry, said it looked ‘beautiful’ and called Meghan a ‘babe’.

In one clip – seemingly filmed by the Duke of Sussex – Meghan put together dusky pink and white roses together in a vase, which Harry called ‘beautiful’.

‘So brilliant, babe,’ he added.

In another video, the Duchess picked at wisteria, while other snippets showed the family’s chickens roaming around with their four-year-old daughter.

Last week, Meghan popped up to surprise young patients at a Los Angeles hospital.

The Duchess put on a mask as she joined children for painting and craft activities.

Meghan, who also spent time with young patients in their rooms, had not promoted the event herself – it was Children’s Hospital Los Angeles who took to their Instagram to share images of Meghan on the wards.

Justin Bieber Spotted Following Tense Encounter with Former Mentor Usher

Justin Bieber made a public appearance recently, marking the first time he’s been seen since rumors surfaced about a ‘heated exchange’ with former mentor Usher at an Oscars after-party.

On Saturday, the 32-year-old Grammy winner was spotted at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic held at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. He was accompanied by his wife Hailey, 29, and some friends.

During the event, Bieber took a moment to connect with a young fan amidst the star-studded gathering.

The young girl approached Bieber in his VIP box, seemingly requesting his autograph.

In a kind gesture, Bieber signed one of the girl’s sneakers before returning his attention to the game.

The outing also proved to be PDA-packed for Bieber as he was often seen holding hands with Hailey as well as kissing her in their seats.

He appeared to be in good spirits and even flashed a rare smile on his face.

For game day, the Baby singer wore a knit sweater with red striped details and short sleeves to show off his tattoo sleeves.

He also sported baggy cargo pants paired with brown, leather penny loafers and a beige baseball cap worn backwards.

He accessorized with gold jewelry, including a flashy watch on his wrist.

Meanwhile, Hailey looked effortlessly chic in a low-cut, cropped camisole paired with a black, crochet jacket, straight-leg jeans and thong sandal heels.

She carried a black, leather clutch as her purse and sported retro, oval-shaped sunglasses to shield her eyes from the sun.

Bieber and his wife stepping out for the star parade at the game comes just shortly after he allegedly got into a ‘heated’ dispute with Usher at Jay-Z and Beyonce’s Oscars afterparty, which was held at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles last Sunday.

Usher allegedly approached Bieber with ‘energy and anger,’ according to TMZ.

Sources close to Bieber stated that their exchange never became physical.

However, other insiders claimed the encounter culminated in a fistfight – leaving the exact nature of the alleged dispute unclear.

Among the star-studded guest list at Beyonce and Jay-Z’s afterparty were Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce as well as Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.

Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan were in attendance – as were Jacob Elordi, Teyana Taylor, Vin Diesel, Sofia Vergara, Austin Butler, Emma Stone, Emma Watson, Jon Batiste, Chloe Bailey and Vanessa and Natalia Bryant.

Bieber’s wife was also among the invitees, along with her longtime close friend and fellow supermodel Kendall Jenner.

None of the famous names who dropped by Beyonce and Jay-Z’s party have publicly discussed witnessing any spat unfold between Bieber and Usher.

Bieber went viral for his singing videos on YouTube in 2007 at the age of 13, leading to his discovery by business partners Scooter Braun and Usher.

They signed him the following year and guided him along his rise to global fame, with Bieber at one point moving to Atlanta with his mother to work with Usher.

Bieber and Usher were seemingly last pictured together back in 2021 as they attended a Lakers game in Los Angeles.

Braun meanwhile emerged as one of the top music managers in the business, with a client list including Bieber as well as Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato.

He announced his retirement from the profession in June 2024, one day after he and Bieber ended their business relationship.

Bieber and Braun’s bond disintegrated into an explosive financial feud that ended with a settlement last year, in which the pop act allegedly agreed to pay $26 million in costs related to the cancellation of his Justice tour in 2022, sources told TMZ.

Under the terms of the deal, Bieber was also reportedly meant to pay half of the $11 million in unpaid commission Braun claimed to be owed.

Brave Truck Drivers Thwart Armed Carjacking Attempt at Melbourne Service Station: A Heroic Standoff

Despite being outnumbered, the LG delivery driver bravely defended himself and managed to repel the attackers.

Eyewitnesses reported that the culprits hurled racial insults at the driver before demanding the keys to his truck.

As they tried to flee he was joined by a co-worker and, armed with a spirit level, exacted his revenge as one man bizarrely attempted to retrieve a guitar from a getaway car.

As the fight fizzled out the brave delivery driver delivered one last flurry of blows.

Police said there were no serious injuries in the fight and the two alleged carjackers fled in a red Subaru southbound on the Eastlink.

Houston Resident Reports Possible Meteorite Crash After Mysterious Blast Shakes Neighborhood

0

A few hours following a mysterious boom that shook homes in the Houston area, a woman reported that a suspected meteorite crashed through her roof, leaving behind a sizable hole and a rock the size of a football.

Residents flooded social media with concerns on Saturday afternoon, describing a sound similar to a large explosion echoing across Houston.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to reports of a potential explosion near Highway 50, but upon investigation, their units found no immediate evidence of such an event.

Witnesses recounted seeing a “green flash fall from the sky,” accompanied by black smoke and a loud boom, according to the fire department.

Fire officials also mentioned that some sources suggested the noise might have resulted from a “possible meteor.”

Sherrie James, who contacted affiliate FOX 26 and the Ponderosa Fire Department after the blast, said an “unusual rock” crashed through her roof, leaving a large hole in the ceiling and in her flooring.

Photos provided by James showed a football-sized black rock that appeared to be broken off a larger chunk of material.

Since there was no construction or trees nearby, the fire department told FOX 26 the rock was likely a part of the alleged meteor that was heard around Houston.

The American Meteor Society documented what it is calling a “fireball event” over Texas on Saturday, after receiving more than 100 reports.

Observers reported the event lasted anywhere between 1.5 seconds and 7.5 seconds, though it has not yet been validated by experts.

No other reports of damages were confirmed.

Unveiling the Catastrophic Global Consequences of Nuclear Warfare: A Scientific Perspective

0

With the looming specter of nuclear war, the grim possibilities following an explosion may invoke greater fear than the initial blast itself.

For many years, dire predictions have warned that nuclear strikes on major cities like New York, Washington, Chicago, and Los Angeles could claim the lives of tens of millions within moments.

Yet, the aftermath of these nuclear fireballs extends beyond immediate destruction, unleashing long-term effects on the planet and exposing countless individuals to the lethal reach of radioactive fallout.

Scientific studies indicate that a series of nuclear explosions would spell disaster for human health, the environment, and nearly all life, to the point where being vaporized in the initial blast might seem a more merciful end.

Extensive research on nuclear detonations and their fallout reveals that even a localized conflict could devastate the ozone layer, leave corpses to spread disease, and expose millions to Acute Radiation Syndrome, a potentially deadly condition.

The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, a Chicago-based nonprofit that created the infamous Doomsday Clock, warned in January that the world has never been closer to total annihilation.

Recent events have only moved that timeline further along, with the war in Iran threatening to spiral out of control as nuclear-armed Russia has allegedly begun supplying Iran with military intelligence on US forces.

Meanwhile, the last remaining nuclear arms treaty between the US and Russia, called New START, officially ended on February 5, leaving no barriers on either nation’s ability to build and test weapons of mass destruction.

Diseases ravage the planet

Following a nuclear war, diseases such as salmonella, dysentery, typhoid, malaria, dengue fever and encephalitis would spread widely among the survivors, according to a 1981 report in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Not only would survivors not have clean water, but insects would multiply rapidly, feeding on the corpses littering the streets.

Along with untreated sewage carrying more diseases, the rise of trillions of radiation-resistant insects would allow these pathogens to be carried from dead humans and animals to those who still living around the globe.

Medical equipment running on electricity may also be useless without generators in areas struck by blackouts.

A 1986 report entitled The Medical Implications of Nuclear War warned: ‘Many familiar barriers to the spread of communicable disease… will be seriously compromised in the post-attack environment In their absence.’

‘A host of enteric diseases not yet encountered by most Americans may be expected to spread widely,’ the report continued.

According to the National Library of Medicine, these illnesses would include hepatitis, a viral liver infection that can cause inflammation and jaundice, and E. coli, a potentially fatal bacterial gut infection often leading to severe diarrhea, cramps and dehydration.

The ‘ultraviolet spring’

Nuclear war could strip away the ozone layer, leaving survivors to be blasted by cancer-causing ultraviolet radiation from the unfiltered sun. The sun’s intense rays could also kill off much of the remaining food supply.

Researchers first realized in 1970s that nuclear fireballs would produce nitrogen oxides, which would be carried high into the stratosphere and chemically destroy ozone molecules.

A 1975 study by the National Academy of Sciences, nuclear explosions could reduce the ozone layer by up to 70 percent in an all-out nuclear war where 10,000 megatons of weapons detonated.

However, that amount of damage is far beyond what the combined nuclear arsenals on Earth currently possess.

John W. Birks of the University of Colorado wrote: ‘Once most of the smoke and dust was removed from the atmosphere and sunlight began to break through, the biosphere would not receive normal sunlight but, rather, sunlight highly enriched in ultraviolet radiation.’

The resulting increase in UV-B radiation would cause more skin cancers among surviving humans, and also have devastating effects on crops and wildlife.

Recent research suggested that the effects of even a ‘small’ nuclear war between, such as a hypothetical conflict between India and Pakistan, could potentially destroy up to 40 percent of the ozone layer.

Michael Mills, chief study author from CU-Boulder’s Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics said: ‘We would see a dramatic drop in ozone levels that would persist for many years.’

‘At mid-latitudes the ozone decrease would be up to 40 percent, which could have huge effects on human health and on terrestrial, aquatic and marine ecosystems.’

The ‘black rain’

In Hiroshima, Japan, fires created by the first atomic bomb dropped in World War II carried ash and radioactive material into the clouds. The result was ‘black rain,’ which falls with an oily consistency almost like tar.

The rain fell on the city in the hours after the bomb exploded, leading to severe radiation burns in some cases.

The effects of the weather on radiation can be unpredictable, with the 1953 Nevada bomb tests leading to ‘hot spots’ where large amounts of radiation lurked.

Researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have found that lethal amounts of fallout could spread hundreds of miles from the site of an explosion.

Fallout is the radioactive dust and particles that fall back to Earth after a nuclear explosion. Carried by wind, it can mix with dirt or debris from the blast site and contaminate everything it touches.

Researchers writing in The Medical Implications of Nuclear War suggested that up to seven percent of the US could be covered in enough fallout to deliver a dose of radiation large enough to kill within two days.

Global starvation

Up to five billion are projected to die of hunger after a full-scale nuclear war.

Soot from burning cities would soar high into the air, encircling the planet. The vast cloud of smoke would rapidly cool the planet, reflecting sunlight back into space.

This would cause crops to wither and make it impossible to plant those same foods at least for the next year, according to a 2022 Nature study.

Firestorms would kill people even in bomb shelters

Doomsday preppers and other survival experts have long noted that the safest place to be during a nuclear attack is in a well-shielded fallout shelter or some type of underground basement.

However, scientists have argued that those in shelters could actually be killed by the fires started in the explosions.

Collapsing buildings and ruptured fuel tanks or gas lines could combine to ignite what researchers called a ‘firestorm.’ This type of ‘fire wind’ would rapidly rise to gale force, blowing inwards from all directions.

The research in the Journal of Public Health Policy suggested that even in bomb shelters and basements, temperatures would rapidly rise to fatal levels during the firestorm on the surface.

The fire would completely consume available oxygen, the researchers added, meaning that those who were not burnt to death would suffocate.
