Meet the Stars of ‘To Philly with Love’: Rebecca Dalton and Stephen Huszar Lead Hallmark’s Heartwarming Cast

As the United States gears up to commemorate its 250th Independence Day, the Hallmark Channel has already captured the celebratory spirit with a fresh romance that draws inspiration from history.

To Philly with Love introduces audiences to Emily Hollister (played by Rebecca Dalton), a dedicated teacher and fervent history buff. She finds herself back in Philadelphia, tasked with readying her late grandmother’s home for sale. During this visit, Emily unravels a fascinating project her grandmother had embarked on, prompting her to seek assistance from Nate Callahan (played by Stephen Huszar), the chief archivist. Together, they embark on an exhilarating quest to decipher love letters from the Revolutionary War era. This journey through the historic streets of Philadelphia not only unearths forgotten tales of love but also sparks a romance of their own.

Philadelphia, known as the City of Brotherly Love, offers an ideal setting for this Hallmark feature. Its rich historical tapestry, vibrant culture, and iconic culinary delights, like cheesesteaks and water ice, enhance the film’s charm.

Curious about the characters in To Philly with Love? Our cast guide is the perfect companion to familiarize yourself with the faces behind the story before the film’s premiere. Don’t miss the debut of To Philly with Love tonight on the Hallmark Channel at 8/7c, with streaming available on Hallmark+ the following day.

In the film, Emily’s journey is deeply influenced by her grandmother, who was not only a fellow educator but also a historian. As Emily assists her mother in preparing the grandmother’s home for the market, she stumbles upon her grandmother’s unfinished historical project. This discovery leads her to Philadelphia’s archives, setting the stage for the unfolding adventure.

Dalton has appeared in quite a few Hallmark Channel movies, with her latest before To Philly with Love being 2024’s Head Over Heels. TV series credits of hers include My Babysitter’s a Vampire, The L.A. Complex, Suits, Degrassi: Minis, and Good Witch.

Diane Hollister is Emily’s mother, played by Precious Chong. While Diane is thrilled to have her daughter home, she is very excited to see the spark back in Emily’s eye as she sets out to decode the Revolutionary War-era love letters left behind by her grandmother.

Chong appeared in three episodes of SYFY’s Revival last year, and other TV credits of hers include Chucky and Murdoch Mysteries. On the film front, she’s appeared in 2001’s Pearl Harbor and 2014’s Playing It Cool, among many others.

Pope Leo Dismisses Trump Debate: ‘Not a Priority for Me

0

In a statement on Saturday, Pope Leo XIV expressed disinterest in engaging in any debate with President Trump, following their recent exchanges.

Speaking aboard his flight to Angola, the pope addressed the media’s portrayal of a speech he delivered in Cameroon. He highlighted the misrepresentation of his message, which warned against those who exploit religion, noting it was prepared well in advance of any remarks made by the president. “It seems it was misconstrued as an attempt to engage in a debate with the president, which is far from my intention,” Leo clarified. “Our focus remains on spreading the gospel message.”

Recently, Trump criticized the pope’s appeals for peace amidst the U.S.-Israeli tensions with Iran.

On Truth Social, Trump accused the pontiff of being “WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy,” further insinuating that Leo, originally from Chicago, wouldn’t hold his papal position if not for Trump’s presidency. Additionally, Trump falsely claimed that Leo supports Iran’s acquisition of nuclear weapons, a statement completely unfounded by the pope.

He wrote on Truth Social last Sunday that the pontiff is “WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy,” suggesting that the Chicago-born figurehead of the Catholic Church would not be pope if Trump were not president. He also claimed Leo wants Iran to have nuclear weapons, something the pope has never said.

The president later said he will not apologize for lashing out at Leo for saying “things that are wrong.” He accused the pope of having “a problem” with law and order.

“He was very much against what I’m doing with regard to Iran, and you cannot have a nuclear Iran,” Trump told reporters outside the Oval Office on Monday. “Pope Leo would not be happy with the end result.”

Trump’s rhetoric appeared toned down on Thursday when he told reporters that he’s “not fighting” with Leo. He emphasized liking Leo’s brother, Louis Prevost, who is a Trump supporter, and that Prevost and his family “love their brother who’s the pope.”

“I think that’s the perfect metaphor for where we are,” he added.

Leo told reporters on Sunday, after Trump initially blasted him on Truth Social, that he is “not afraid of the Trump administration.”

He continued his calls for peace later in the week, urging those to “reject the logic of violence and war, and embrace peace founded on love and justice—an unarmed peace, not based on fear, threats or weapons.”

“This peace is disarming, because it is capable of resolving conflicts, opening hearts, and generating trust, empathy, and hope,” he wrote Wednesday on the social platform X. “I strongly reiterate: The world thirsts for #Peace! Enough of war and all the pain it causes through death, destruction, and exile!”

Coventry City Secures Premier League Return: Strategic Moves with Frank Lampard and Key Transfers to Ensure Survival

0

In late January, following Coventry City’s defeat at Queens Park Rangers, Frank Lampard made a pivotal decision that ultimately led the club back to the Premier League, ending a 25-year absence from the top tier of English football.

At that point, Coventry had gone seven away matches without a win, allowing a substantial 10-point lead at the top of the table to slip away. Even seasoned members of the Sky Blues, who had been leading the Championship for much of the season, began to brace themselves for the possibility of competing in the play-offs.

In such challenging circumstances, many managers might have opted for drastic changes, but Lampard chose a different path. His message after the Loftus Road setback was clear: “Don’t panic.” The former Chelsea and Everton manager reassured his players that they remained one of the strongest teams in the Championship and encouraged them to believe in their ability to secure promotion despite the dip in form. Lampard’s faith paid off as Coventry proceeded to win eight of their next 10 matches, clinching promotion with a victory at Blackburn.

Climbing from League Two to the Premier League is no small feat, even for a well-managed club. Coventry achieved this despite several financial scares that threatened the club’s survival. Since their last appearance in the top flight, Coventry’s future has been in jeopardy multiple times, forcing them to play home games in Northampton and Birmingham. Remarkably, during their tenure at St Andrew’s, they even managed to claim the League One title under former manager Mark Robins.

“Given everything this club has endured, it’s vital for the fans to celebrate and for the players to experience this moment,” Lampard remarked. “They should relish it. Considering the events of the past 25 years, every success feels more significant. We have an extraordinary fanbase, both at home and away.”

Despite a blip in form in January, the Sky Blues have roared back and are now promoted with games to spare

‘There have been tough times that I can’t describe too much because I wasn’t here, but I’ve read about what the club and fans have been through, playing home games at different stadiums, and that makes it even more special. It’s very rare now for teams who go through this journey to get back to the Premier League and the fans are the first ones who should enjoy it.’

Here, Daily Mail Sport goes behind the scenes of Coventry’s triumphant march to the top flight – and how they plan to stay there.

How has Lampard done it?

Speak to insiders about Lampard and they stress how calm he has stayed throughout the season. Perhaps during his early days as a manager, Lampard would struggle to hide his emotions from his players. That is no longer a problem these days with Lampard providing the anchor throughout the ups and downs. Lampard signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Sky Blues when he replaced Robins and it would be no surprise to see him offered a new contract in the days ahead.

In an interview with Daily Mail Sport in February, the 47-year-old admitted: ‘Sometimes I still feel like I’m a young manager.’ But he is far from it. After working for Derby, Chelsea – twice – and Everton as well as Coventry, Lampard is closing in on the 300-game mark. In all likelihood, he will cross that barrier as a Premier League boss again and what a story it will be. He has already identified improvements that must be made to the training ground and these discussions will intensify in the days ahead.

Lampard has said publicly that he has never known a better spirit within a squad and the dynamic seems perfect. Most of these players have never experienced top-flight football, whereas their boss is one of the Premier League’s greatest. Respect is automatic. When he speaks, they listen.

Lampard places a great deal of trust in his coaching lieutenants, Joe Edwards and Chris Jones, explaining to them what he would like from a training session, and letting them plan it accordingly. Lampard is heavily involved in the sessions, though, particularly in the tactical work towards the end of a week.

When the players practise their finishing after the session has ended, Lampard – who scored 305 goals in more than 1,000 appearances for club and country – will usually remain to observe and offer advice. Training is strong on detail, with players given extensive briefings before each fixture on the strengths and weaknesses of their direct opponents.

Though there have been more individual and collective meetings than under Robins, these have been shorter, with Lampard focusing on three or four key messages and drilling them repeatedly. He likes to hold separate group discussions with defenders, midfielders and forwards.

The key men

An attacking midfielder like his manager, Jack Rudoni is just one player who has spent hours evaluating his game with Lampard and Edwards, identifying areas for improvement, such as the timing of his runs into the penalty area. Rudoni’s two goals in the 3-2 win over Derby on Good Friday proved the hard work is paying off.

Matt Grimes has been the ideal leader. When he joined the club from Swansea, the midfielder did not feel inclined to accept the designated captain’s parking space at the training ground – until Lampard told him otherwise. Here was a key senior player who considered himself a standard member of the group. It is the sort of small gesture that works wonders for team spirit.

The goalkeeping of Carl Rushworth, Bobby Thomas’ defending, Rudoni’s decisive contributions and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto’s wizardry have taken the headlines. Yet those who have featured much less have been just as important.

Joel Latibeaudiere missed the early part of the season with a knee injury and when he was fit again, he could not dislodge Thomas or Liam Kitching from central defence. Instead of sulking, Latibeaudiere pushed the starting pair in training and took on a leadership role within the squad. When he finally had his chance around the turn of the year, Latibeaudiere has not looked back.

Between them, Jake Bidwell and Jamie Allen have started only six league games. In their position, many would ease off. Instead, Lampard has praised both publicly for their attitude in training and on matchdays.

It is worth looking back at the parts of games this season when Coventry were under the cosh. At those times, you would often see Allen and Bidwell leave the bench to warm up, allowing them to pass on advice and encouragement to those on the pitch. With back-up players like these, no wonder Lampard rates the squad’s mentality so highly.

What’s next?

The Coventry XI that starts the Premier League season in August will likely look very different from the one that got them there.

A priority will be to secure a permanent deal – or at least another season’s loan – for Rushworth. Brought in from Brighton, he has been among their most important players this term. So too has midfielder Frank Onyeka, who will now join on a permanent basis as part of the terms of his loan from Brentford.

Grimes is another the club are confident can make the step, along with Rudoni and forward Haji Wright. In defence, right back Milan van Ewijk and centre back Thomas look capable of playing at a higher level.

Rudoni has been managing a shoulder problem for much of the campaign – it has caused him so much pain he has struggled to sleep at times – and now promotion has been secured, Coventry may decide to send the 24-year-old for surgery to ensure the problem is fixed in time for the Premier League.

It would be a surprise if Coventry followed the example of Sunderland, who spent nearly £165million on new players last summer and have managed comfortably to beat the drop thanks to an outstanding start to the campaign. While the Sky Blues will show ambition, their approach will be sensible: there are unlikely to be £100,000-a-week salary offers, with £50,000 a week believed to be a more realistic negotiating point.

There will be changes, though. Greater athleticism will be sought in midfield, though Middlesbrough’s impressive playmaker Hayden Hackney could become a target, especially if Boro do not follow Coventry back to the Premier League. Keep an eye on the left-back spot, too.

In today’s football landscape, commercial revenue is vital for on-pitch improvement and Coventry are believed to be close to agreeing a new deal with shirt sponsors Monzo for next season.

Premier League shareholder meetings should certainly be livelier with owner Doug King involved in them. Those familiar with the football club owners of the late 20th century will enjoy King’s arrival in the top flight. He is a big personality who likes to be involved in every aspect of the club.

Doug King is the ultimate hands-on owner, and has an excellent relationship with key executives including Lampard

Doug King is the ultimate hands-on owner, and has an excellent relationship with key executives including Lampard

When he bought Coventry in January 2023, King was learning on the job. At that time, there was a perception that Coventry were susceptible to overpaying, both in fees and wages. Yet King is a shrewd businessman, who made his money in the food and agriculture industry, and he has learned quickly. During meetings, he absorbs information quickly and will give proper hearing to both sides of an argument.

At the start of his ownership, barely anything would happen at Coventry without King at the heart of it – but now he is a little more prepared to delegate to key executives, such as head of recruitment Dean Austin.

If Austin and Lampard identify a player and approach King, the owner is now more willing simply to set the budget and leave them to do the rest, rather than conducting negotiations at every stage.

This summer will be fascinating. King is not the type to gamble the future of the club on a single season. Coventry will do plenty of shopping in overseas markets but still they need Premier League experience. Usually those players command high salaries and have little resale value. Will King wish to take those risks?

Sky Blues fans should have faith. They have had their money’s worth under King’s stewardship, which has included two trips to Wembley, two play-off campaigns and now promotion. Whatever happens next, supporters will remember this journey for the rest of their days.

Jennie Garth Opens Up About ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ and Its Impact on Her Body Image

Jennie Garth has openly shared her struggles with significant insecurities during her tenure on Beverly Hills, 90210.

In her latest memoir, I Choose Me, Garth, now 54, reflects, “I never anticipated that embodying a character would begin to shape my self-perception. When I took on the role of Kelly Taylor in Beverly Hills, 90210, I hadn’t yet confronted the issues I had with body image in my personal life.”

Garth discusses how storylines involving Kelly’s dieting, insecurities, or being “lauded or criticized for her appearance” often seemed “alien” to her own experiences.

“I approached these scenarios with the creativity and curiosity of an actress,” she explained. “Much like Kelly, I encountered harsh judgments and grappled with preserving my mental well-being. The show’s messages—whether scripted or imagined—began to blur the line between who I was and who I played.”

Jennie Garth Wishes She Hadnt Done The CWs 90210 Reboot

Reflecting on her involvement with The CW’s 90210 reboot, Jennie Garth expressed some regret. “I wish I hadn’t done it. No disrespect to them,” Garth, 52, remarked during a ’90s Con panel for the original Beverly Hills, 90210 on September 14, as reported by People. “The producer was a mutual acquaintance, and I remember he approached me…”

According to Garth, she soon “felt judged” for her appearance and outfits between 90210 takes.

“[I was] always internally comparing myself to my costars or guest stars joining us,” she said. “I was a young girl and I wanted approval from Luke [Perry], Jason [Priestley], Brian [Austin Green] and Ian [Ziering]. I felt competitive with other young women and worried when I wasn’t getting noticed.”

Amid her body image battle, Garth had a breast augmentation and liposuction when she was 24 years old.

“I started to believe that this was just what you did at a certain age,” she wrote in her book, noting other actresses were also going under the knife at the time. “I wanted to disappear into the version of beauty that was being sold to all of us at the time: small, effortless, waif-like. I thought if I could just carve myself into that image, maybe I’d finally feel like enough.”

In the years since wrapping 90210 in 2000 and welcoming three daughters with ex-husband Peter Facinelli, Garth has learned to embrace her body.

Jennie Garth Reveals Thoughts on Each '90210' Costar in New Book: Where They Stand

Jennie Garth reflected on her Beverly Hills, 90210 days in her newly released memoir, I Choose Me, sharing details about her relationships with each costar. Garth, now 54, starred as Kelly Taylor in the teen drama, which ran for 10 seasons from 1999 to 2000. The show also starred Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh), Shannen Doherty […]

“I never thought I’d be doing my first underwear shoot at 53 … but here we are,” Garth wrote via Instagram in June 2025, sharing pics from her ThirdLove lingerie campaign. “I’ve never felt more confident, or comfortable in my skin.”

She continued at the time, “Not just because it’s a first for me, but because it’s with a brand that genuinely supports women through every phase of life, including menopause.Thank you @thirdlove for helping me feel strong, sexy, and supported — exactly as I am.”

The first trial featured a mystery food under a cloche, with the celebrities then heading into the MasterChef larder to pick out the rest of their ingredients.

After a good start – bar Noreen swiftly picking up her cake up off the floor – the second round tested the five celebrities palette.

The stars had to correctly guess what the ingredient is while blindfolded.

Alun Wyn received ten minutes extra cooking time in the next challenge after guessing the most ingredients correctly.

The celebrities then had to battle it out at the MasterChef Street Market, with judges John Torode and Grace Dent asking the stars to create something they would serve from their own food truck.

He told them: ‘Make it indulgent, make it delicious, let’s cook’.

The duo were impressed by Alfie’s smashed potatoes and Jodie’s sweet spin on a Yorkshire pudding.

All five celebrities went sent through to the next round where they will battle it out once again.

While Grace, 52, has often appeared on the show as a guest judge, this is her first series as a permanent fixture after Gregg Wallace was sacked earlier this year.

Viewers penned: ‘Grace is lovely a bit of humour and humility. She is good for the #celebritymasterchef better than Greggs!’;

‘I am really loving Grace dent as a judge.’; ‘Loving this new series with slightly different format. Grace Dent is also a great addition’;

‘Thankfully no Greg yelling at the chefs to hurry up. Grace seems to have a calming effect.’;

‘I’m surprisingly loving Grace as a Judge but I’m going to miss John’; ‘Grace is finding it hard to control her facial expressions, which I find hilarious!’;

‘I didn’t like Grace Dent when she was an occasional guest judge in previous series, but now she’s a full time judge and I’ve grown to like her. She has an imperious look but is funny and rather kind.’

Trump Accelerates Psychedelic Drug Review with New Executive Order, Spotlight on Ibogaine

0

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump on Saturday made a significant move to accelerate the evaluation process of certain psychedelic substances, including ibogaine. This initiative has gained traction among military veterans and some conservative legislators, although ibogaine is associated with notable safety concerns.

Currently, ibogaine and similar psychedelics are classified by the federal government as high-risk substances under stringent illegal drug regulations. However, the administration is working to relax these restrictions, aiming to promote research into their potential medical applications, particularly for conditions like severe depression.

“This executive order is about providing hope to those burdened with debilitating conditions, allowing them the possibility of reclaiming a fulfilling life,” Trump stated during the signing of the order. He emphasized that his directive intends to “dramatically accelerate” the availability of potential treatments. “If these substances prove as effective as believed, the impact could be substantial,” he added.

Advocates, including veteran groups, have long argued that ibogaine, derived from a West African shrub, holds significant potential for treating challenging conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder and opioid addiction.

This announcement marks a continuation of commitments by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and other officials within the administration to facilitate access to psychedelics for medical purposes, a cause that has garnered uncommon bipartisan support.

Joining Trump in the Oval Office were his top health officials, conservative podcaster Joe Rogan and Marcus Luttrell, the former Navy SEAL whose memoir about a deadly mission in Afghanistan was the basis of the film “Lone Survivor.” Rogan said he texted Trump information on ibogaine and the president responded: “Sounds great. Do you want FDA approval? Let’s do it.”

“You’re going to save a lot of lives through it,” Luttrell told Trump during the ceremony. “It absolutely changed my life for the better.”

The Food and Drug Administration next week will issue national priority vouchers for three psychedelics, which the agency’s commissioner, Marty Makary, said will allow certain drugs to be approved quickly “if they are in line with our national priorities.” The vouchers can cut review times from several months to a period of weeks. It is the first time the FDA has offered that fast-tracking to any psychedelics.

The FDA is also taking steps to clear the way for the first-ever human trials of ibogaine in the U.S.

Trump’s action surprised many longtime advocates and researchers in the psychedelic field, given that ibogaine is known to sometimes trigger potentially fatal heart problems. The National Institutes of Health briefly funded research on the drug in the 1990s, but discontinued the work due to ibogaine’s “cardiovascular toxicity.”

“It’s been incredibly difficult to study ibogaine in the U.S. because of its known cardiotoxicity,” said Frederick Barrett, director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research. “If the executive order can pave the way for doing objective, scientific research with this compound, it would help us understand whether it is truly a better psychedelic therapy than others.”

No psychedelic has been approved in the United States, but a number of them are being studied in large trials for various mental health conditions, including psilocybin, MDMA and LSD. All those drugs remain illegal, classified as Schedule I substances alongside drugs such as heroin. Two states – Oregon and Colorado – have legalized psychedelic therapy with psilocybin.

Ibogaine was first used by members of the Bwiti religion in African nations like Gabon during their religious ceremonies.

In recent years, U.S. veterans have reported benefiting from the drug after traveling to clinics in Mexico that administer it.

Backing from veterans groups and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry led to a law last year providing $50 million for ibogaine research in that state. Perry, who co-founded a group called Americans for Ibogaine, recently appeared on Rogan’s podcast, making the case for reducing federal limits on the drug. It was his second time talking about ibogaine on the popular podcast in the past two years.

The drug is known to cause irregular heart rhythms and has been linked to more than 30 deaths in the medical literature, according to the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, a nonprofit that conducted some early studies in patients outside the U.S.

The group’s co-executive director, Ismail Lourido Ali, said Trump’s order might encourage other states to follow the Texas model.

“The stigma around Schedule I drugs is significant,” Ali said. “It feels like this would give pretty substantial cover for Republican governors and legislatures to step into the ring in terms of funding research programs at their universities.”

Owners of ibogaine clinics said the impact of the order will not be immediate.

“There will be no insurance coverage, it will still be considered unapproved and non-covered care,” said Tom Feegel of Beond Ibogaine, which operates a clinic in Cancun, Mexico. “But what it does mean is that ibogaine shifts from being fringe and underground to being federally acknowledged.”

Feegel says his clinic treated 2,000 people with ibogaine last year for between $15,000 and $20,000 per person. The company also gave free treatment to about 100 veterans.

Clinics that use the drug typically monitor patients’ heart readings and have emergency medical equipment on hand.

One of the only recent studies conducted by U.S. researchers found that veterans treated with ibogaine showed improvements in symptoms of traumatic brain injury, including PTSD, depression and anxiety. The Stanford University study was small – enrolling 30 veterans who received the drug in Mexico. It did not include a placebo group for comparison, an essential feature of rigorous medical research. Patients in the study received a combination of ibogaine mixed with magnesium intended to reduce heart risks.

Unveiling the Real Story Behind Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird’s Surprising Separation

0

Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird found themselves at odds in retirement, ultimately deciding to part ways, according to a source who spoke to the Daily Mail following their unexpected breakup.

The renowned sports duo, who had been in a relationship for almost ten years, surprised fans on Friday with the announcement of their separation through a joint statement on social media.

Rapinoe, celebrated for her two World Cup victories with the U.S. women’s soccer team, and Bird, a WNBA icon, emphasized that their decision to end their decade-long relationship was difficult and made with mutual affection and consideration.

“This hasn’t been an easy decision, but it’s one we’ve made together, with so much love, respect, and care for each other,” the statement read. “We’ve shared a whole life over the last decade, through big moments and in quiet ones, and that is something we’ll always carry with us.”

An insider has now shed light on the reasons behind Rapinoe and Bird’s sudden breakup, suggesting that the couple struggled with spending too much time together after retiring from their respective sports careers.

‘Though they both have been retired for a few years from their respective sports, they have been able to venture out and do other things along with their podcasts both together and separate,’ the source said. ‘But one thing they couldn’t figure out was seeing each other all the time, which is crazy to say.

‘When they were involved in their careers, they would see each other of course, but it was also the element of absence makes the heart grow fonder.

‘They just couldn’t figure out retirement together. And a small disagreement would turn into a bigger thing, and they started to look to friends like they resented each other. And before it got out of hand, as they realized it was bleeding out to their friends, they made the mutual decision to end it.’

Bird retired from basketball in 2022. However, she didn’t step away from the spotlight and was often seen supporting her partner at soccer games until Rapinoe brought her own career to a close in 2023.

The pair relaunched their podcast, ‘A Touch More,’ in summer 2024, covering women’s sports and the culture around it. They confirmed that, following their split, they will also no longer be recording the show together.

The insider stressed that their relationship is ‘over forever’ with no chance of a reconciliation.

‘With that said, they very much mean what they said in their statement of sharing wonderful memories with each other,’ the source added. ‘But they both realized that they weren’t making new memories, and it was better for them to break up before they tainted their wonderful history forever.’

The ex-couple also released a short, special-edition of their podcast on Friday afternoon, sharing a brief three-minute clip to their socials about the ‘personal news.’

Bird explained that they wanted to be ‘transparent’ about their separation after sharing so much of their relationship with their followers over the years.

‘It’s going to look a little bit different going forward,’ Rapinoe admitted, before Bird explained that they plan to release six more limited episodes before closing that chapter of their lives.

‘I hope you all know that we put a lot of thought and care into this,’ Rapinoe added. ‘It’s a decision that we made together. We’re still going to be there for all of you and for each other, it’s just going to look and feel a little bit different.

‘We truly are evolving into something new to each other, to ourselves and to all of you.’

Rapinoe, 40, first came out in 2012 ahead of representing the USWNT on the Olympic stage at the London Games.

However, Bird, 45, was not publicly open about her sexuality until they went public with their relationship.

The basketball great previously explained to the Seattle Times: ‘I think a lot of people who were like me at the time felt: “Yes, I was living my life, but I don’t have to come out publicly.” You kinda say, “Well, straight people don’t have to come out.” I understand now that’s not necessarily the right way to look at it.’

She revealed to the newspaper: ‘Megan and I would have conversations about it, and she opened my eyes to another way of looking at it, which is that in today’s time, in today’s society, it’s still important to kind of say it to make it the norm.’

Despite getting together shortly after the Rio Olympics, where they were both competing for Team USA – Rapinoe in soccer and Brid in basketball – they did not go public with their romance until the following year.

In an interview with People in 2019, Rapinoe gushed over her then-Seattle Storm star girlfriend.

‘We are huge fans of each other. I have become, like, a Seattle Storm number one superfan, of course,’ Rapinoe said.

‘I think it is just the understanding of what we have to go through and the appreciation of, you know, each other’s skills and lives is really special. And in the same sense, we are just normal to each other. Which is really nice. Like, neither of us are like, “Oh wow you are the best person that has ever played basketball.” Which she is!’

Three years later, Rapinoe popped the question in 2020, shortly after Bird won her fourth WNBA championship with the Seattle Storm.

Between the two of them, the duo have a total of six Olympic gold medals – five for Bird and one for Rapinoe. The soccer star also has a bronze from the 2020 Tokyo Games.

Rapinoe previously got engaged to singer Sera Cahoone in 2015 but they ultimately broke up, and she has also dated her fellow soccer star Sarah Walsh.

Allies Bolster Ukraine’s Defense with Drone Support Amid Intensifying Russian Missile Attacks

In a robust show of support for Ukraine, international allies have committed to a substantial new military assistance package. Among the highlights is the promise of 120,000 drones from the United Kingdom, a timely response following Russia’s recent intensification of drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian targets.

The announcement comes amid growing apprehension in Kyiv over the escalating scale of Russian bombardments, thereby intensifying Ukraine’s call for enhanced air defense systems.

According to Ukrainian officials, Russia unleashed a staggering 324 drones and three ballistic missiles in overnight raids. This marks a significant uptick in aerial attacks, as reported by Reuters.

The recent Russian offensives have targeted several regions within Ukraine, extending beyond the immediate front lines, with strikes reported on both Tuesday and Wednesday, as covered by The Associated Press.

Amid ongoing conflict, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is leveraging battlefield innovations to strengthen diplomatic ties, particularly with Middle Eastern nations. By offering anti-drone technologies, he aims to secure further air defense support as Ukraine enters the fourth year of its war with Russia.

Between November and March alone, Moscow fired roughly 27,000 Shahed-type drones, nearly 600 cruise missiles and 462 ballistic missiles, according to Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

“Every day we need air defense missiles — every day Russia continues its strikes,” Zelenskyy said in a post on Telegram.

The latest attacks struck multiple regions behind the front lines, killing an 8-year-old boy in the central Cherkasy region and injuring a woman in southern Zaporizhzhia, according to Ukrainian officials.

The war, which began with Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, has now stretched beyond three years.

Defense leaders from about 50 countries met virtually Wednesday to coordinate military aid and boost weapons production and especially air defense systems.

The session was led by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and British Defense Secretary John Healey, with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also present. The United States was represented by Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby.

Several countries also announced new contributions to Ukraine. Germany and Ukraine agreed on a 4 billion euro ($4.7 billion) defense package, while Norway pledged 9 billion euros (about $10.6 billion) in assistance.

The Netherlands said it will spend 248 million euros ($293 million) to produce drones for Ukraine. The United Kingdom pledged 120,000 drones.

Russia pushed back on the expanded support, warning that European efforts to boost drone production for Ukraine risk deepening their involvement in the conflict.

The Russian Defense Ministry said the decision by European countries to supply drones to Ukraine was leading to an escalation of the military-political situation and a “creeping transformation” into Ukraine’s strategic support base, TASS reported.

Deputy’s Workplace Breastfeeding Lawsuit Exposes Harassment and Discrimination

Hannah Jones speaks to a local news crew in Idaho about negative experiences at work after returning from leave (KIVI).

An Idaho woman has initiated legal action against her employer, alleging a hostile work environment upon her return from maternity leave. This lawsuit involves the law enforcement agency where she serves as a deputy.

Hannah Jones, who has been employed at the Mini-Cassia County Criminal Justice Center for over three years, is taking legal steps against the institution. The center is operated by the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office and is situated in Burley, approximately 160 miles southeast of Boise.

Jones claims her work experience had been largely positive until she returned from maternity leave in October 2023. She asserts she then faced “months” of “systematic harassment, discrimination, and retaliation,” as outlined in her lawsuit filed in Idaho state court.

In a conversation with Boise’s ABC affiliate KIVI, Jones described the situation as “humiliating” and felt it was intended to undermine her credibility. Despite these challenges, she expressed her affection for her job and appreciation for the “really cool people” she has encountered in her role.

“It was humiliating and it seemed really discrediting,” the plaintiff told Boise-based ABC affiliate KIVI in an interview this week. “I love my job. I have gotten to meet a ton of really cool people.”

The welcoming work atmosphere, however, substantially changed for the worse due to comments about her breastfeeding, Jones said.

“I came back and it was only almost immediate that I started getting some pretty embarrassing comments about me breastfeeding and me having to go to the bathroom to go pump,” she told the TV station.

The woman alleges crude and sophomoric behavior from her peers.

“They would make comments about how I was a cow,” Jones explained. “And they would actually make mooing noises at me as I was walking through the hallways and stuff as well – in front of inmates and other agencies.”

The locus of the harassment also took a more explicit turn, she said.

“One of my male supervisors claimed that he thought I should have responded to a fight with my ‘titties’ out,” Jones told KIVI.

Litigation was not the woman’s first step. Jones initially reported the offending behavior but, she said, the complaint was not taken seriously and she eventually experienced retaliation for speaking out.

“I just felt like it wasn’t taken seriously at all,” she told the TV station. “I started experiencing what I believe to be retaliation and that’s the point that it kind of got to be too much and I just couldn’t handle it anymore.”

Next, Jones said, she filed complaints with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Idaho Human Rights Commission. Both Gem State agencies, she said, issued findings in her favor.

Now, she is suing the sheriff’s office on claims of sexual harassment and gender discrimination, according to the lawsuit.

Law&Crime reached out to the sheriff’s office for comment on this story but no response was immediately forthcoming at time of publication.

Jones said the experience has changed her perspective on her career as a deputy and she worries about similar treatment discouraging other women from working in law enforcement.

“I feel my heart break for women that are coming into the force, knowing that that’s probably going to happen to them too,” she said.

Sabrina Carpenter Enlists Madonna for a Memorable Coachella 2026 Performance

Madonna recently took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, reminiscing about her iconic 2006 performance at a major music festival. She expressed the unique joy of taking the stage once again, underscoring just how significant it felt to be back in the spotlight.

“I have a few things I want to get off my chest,” Madonna shared. “It’s been 20 years since I first performed at Coachella. Back then, I was in the dance tent, introducing Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part I to an American audience for the first time. That was an exhilarating moment for me.”

Her return to the festival carried a deep sense of nostalgia. “You can imagine how thrilling it is to be here 20 years later, wearing the same boots, the same corset, and the Gucci jacket I had on earlier,” she continued. “It feels like a full-circle moment, and it holds a lot of significance for me.”

Adding another layer of excitement to her performance was a unique collaboration with another artist. “One more thrilling aspect I must mention is that this is probably the first time I’ve performed with someone shorter than me,” Madonna noted with a smile. “So, thank you for giving me that experience.”

“The other thrilling thing I need to point out to everybody right now is this probably the first time I’ve ever performed with someone who’s shorter than me,” she said. “So, thank you for giving me that experience.”

And Sabrina was happy to oblige. As she replied, “Amen!”
