The investigation is still active, with authorities conducting more interviews, and additional arrests may be forthcoming.

Erika Kirk Sets the Record Straight: No New Boyfriend Despite Rumors

0

Erika Kirk has firmly responded to online critics who suggested she has moved on with a new relationship just eight months following the tragic murder of her husband.

The 37-year-old mother of two took to social media platform X on Thursday to address the accusations. The claims originated from Project Constitution, a page known for disseminating far-right conspiracy theories, often targeting organizations like Turning Point USA (TPUSA).

Collin Scott Campbell, who runs the page from Maryland, alleged, “CONFIRMED: Erika Kirk Has A New BOYFRIEND — She Was SPOTTED Getting Handsy with New Jewish Boyfriend BLAKE WYNN (Nephew of Casino Mogul Steve Wynn) at Exclusive Beverly Hills Hotel,” in a post on X.

The assertion quickly gained traction online, prompting Erika to clarify her situation. Her husband, Charlie Kirk, was fatally shot in front of a large crowd at an event in Orem, Utah, last September.

“Every single word here is a lie. Charlie’s love will last me a lifetime. The Lord is the only one who can ever fill that most painful void,” Erika stated, dismissing the rumors.

The page alleged that ‘a trusted eyewitness’ spotted Erika and Wynn at Bar Nineteen12, a ritzy lounge located inside California’s Beverly Hills Hotel, ‘getting very intimate’ with each other on May 14.

But, according to Erika, she was nowhere near the bar that day.

‘On May 14th I was home in Arizona celebrating my son’s 2nd birthday. Blake (who is about to be engaged to his longtime gf) was a dear friend of my husband’s and I am grateful for his continued support, just like hundreds of others,’ she said before blasting Campbell.

‘Your deranged obsession with me and blatant disregard for any form of truth whatsoever is deeply disturbing and I am praying you get the help you so clearly need.

‘Brush off the Dorito dust and go touch grass,’ Erika continued.

Wynn, the founder of the Celebrity Poker Tour (CPT) and the nephew of casino mogul Steve Wynn, also hit out at the rumor going around about him and Erika.

‘Blake Wynn here… I hate to be the bearer of bad news to the cesspool of bots and X users that spend their entire day making things up under the guise of journalism, but I am not dating Erika Kirk,’ he wrote on X after Erika responded.

He then shared that post to his Instagram, stressing that the ‘blatant lies’ need to stop.

‘WTF is wrong with people. This is an example though of a much larger problem we need to address as a country.

‘If blatant lies can spread within minutes to huge amounts of people, how is anyone supposed to differentiate truth from lie,’ Wynn wrote.

He further stated that he, too, was not in Las Vegas on May 14 and that he’s never been to The Beverly Hills Hotel, adding that Campbell’s source ‘must be Helen Keller.’

Wynn was one of Charlie’s close friends, who has publicly supported his widow following his death last September.

The conservative activist was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University for a TPUSA event.

Tyler James Robinson, 22, was charged with the murder days later and remains in custody. He has not yet entered a plea.

On the day of his murder, Wynn penned a long tribute to his friend on Instagram.

‘I don’t have any words, there are none. There has never been someone in my life I’ve been so proud to call a friend as you, and I really looked at you like a big brother – you constantly pushed me to be better, provided words of encouragement when I needed them most, and altered my perspective for the better,’ he wrote alongside images of them.

Nearly a month later, he joined Erika as she accepted the Presidential Medal of Freedom on her husband’s behalf.

‘As Erika said, Tuesday was the “best birthday gift ever” for Charlie, and she’s 100% right, but as he would’ve said, “now it’s back to work!”,’ Wynn said, referring to the medal being awarded on what would have been Charlie’s 32nd birthday.

This is just the latest battle Erika has had to fight involving Campbell and the comments he makes on his channel.

In March, she sent a legal threat to Campbell, accusing him of defamation over claims he made alleging that she was involved in sex trafficking tied to Jeffrey Epstein, and that she was somehow involved in Charlie’s assassination, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

‘Mrs Kirk and TPUSA welcome vigorous and open debate and honest questions,’ the legal letter, penned by Paul Edgard Harold of SouthBank Legal, said, per the outlet.

‘However, there is no place for publicly repeating patently false statements that injure another person’s reputation.’

Harold then explained that the accusations made about Erika have ’caused tremendous damage’ to her and TPUSA, the non-profit she now runs.

Following Charlie’s death, Erika was appointed as chairman and CEO of the organization that her husband founded.

Schelling of Meridian Honored as WCIA 3’s Athlete of the Week

MERIDIAN, Ill. (WCIA) — Ashley Schelling stepped up to the plate with precision and poise in Meridian’s sectional semifinal clash against Heyworth.

In a dramatic twist, with the Hawks trailing by one run in the final inning, Schelling’s timely 2-RBI hit clinched the game, propelling her team to the sectional championship showdown with Leroy.

Although she had surrendered the lead earlier in the inning, Schelling and her teammates remained calm and determined as they prepared for their batting opportunity.

“After that three-run homer, I stayed positive,” Schelling remarked. “With our ninth batter and then the top of the lineup set to hit, I had no doubt we’d rally. Our commitment to winning and advancing was unwavering; we were ready to seize the moment right there.”

Schelling has been a pivotal force for the Hawks all season, amassing 22 victories as a pitcher and leading the team in RBIs at the plate.

Schelling is now eligible for a $1,500 cash prize we’ll give away to one boy and one girl at the end of the school year.

Israeli Forces Successfully Target Hamas Military Chief in Gaza Operation

0

Israeli forces have successfully targeted and eliminated the new leader of Hamas’ military division in a recent airstrike.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Wednesday that Mohammed Odeh, who played a key role in orchestrating and carrying out infiltration and attack plans during the events of October 7, was killed in a military operation in northern Gaza.

According to the IDF, Odeh stepped into the leadership role of Hamas’ military wing after the previous leader, Izz al-Din al-Haddad, was eliminated. A photo released by the IDF showed Odeh alongside other Hamas leaders who have also been killed.

In a joint statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz declared, “Odeh was accountable for the killing, kidnapping, and injuring of numerous Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Our mission to track down everyone involved in the October 7 massacre continues relentlessly. Israel will ultimately find them all.”

Haddad was eliminated by an Israeli Air Force strike in Gaza City earlier this month, military officials said.

“The IDF will continue to pursue our enemies, strike them, and hold accountable everyone who took part in the October 7 Massacre. We will not relent until we reach them all — this is our duty to all those who returned and to all our civilians,” IDF Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir was quoted as saying following Haddad’s death.

The IDF said, “Following the elimination of his predecessors, Yahya Sinwar and Mohammed Sinwar,” Haddad had “assumed control of Hamas and worked to rebuild its military capabilities and infrastructure — a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement.”

“Haddad was one of the longest-serving commanders in Hamas and played a key role in its terrorist rule. He climbed the ranks and advanced into crucial positions, then was tasked with coordinating and planning the October 7 Massacre invasion,” the IDF said in the announcement of Haddad’s death.

“Throughout the war, he was involved in the holding of many Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity,” the IDF added.

“In every conversation I held with the hostages who returned, the name of the arch-terrorist Izz al-Din al-Haddad… came up again and again,” Zamir said.

Revitalize Your Balance: Discover the 12-Minute Standing Routine Perfect for Those Over 60

A fitness trainer has unveiled a quick 12-minute standing workout designed to enhance full-body balance for individuals over 60.

Maintaining balance significantly impacts how strong and assured you feel as you age. Whether you’re stepping off a curb, navigating uneven terrain, climbing stairs, or making quick movements around the house, good balance is essential. It enables your muscles and joints to work more efficiently, with improved timing and control. The encouraging news is that balance can greatly improve with regular practice, particularly when exercises focus on both strength and coordination.

In my experience, adults tend to see the most rapid improvements in balance when exercises are simple and movement-oriented. Long, intricate routines often lose their appeal. Instead, brief standing workouts are more effective as they mimic the positions used in everyday activities. As clients start experiencing increased stability during their daily routines, their confidence naturally grows.

The 12-Minute Standing Routine for Enhancing Full-Body Balance After 60 targets the legs, hips, core, and posture muscles through deliberate standing exercises that promote head-to-toe stability. These movements not only fortify the muscles responsible for balance but also enhance coordination and body awareness. All you need is a small area and twelve dedicated minutes to get started.

The 12 Minute Standing Routine That Restores Full-Body Balance After 60 trains your legs, hips, core, and posture muscles through controlled standing movements that reinforce stability from head to toe. These exercises help strengthen the muscles responsible for balance while improving coordination and body awareness. All you need is a little open space and twelve focused minutes.

The 12-Minute Standing Balance Routine

Shutterstock

What you need: Open floor space and a sturdy chair or a nearby wall for light support, if needed.

The Routine:

  1. Standing March Holds
  2. Heel-to-Toe Walks
  3. Single-Leg Reaches
  4. Standing Calf Raises

Complete 3 rounds total.

Directions

Standing March Holds

Standing marches strengthen the hips, core, and stabilizing muscles that help maintain single-leg balance. This movement closely mimics the balance demands of walking and stair climbing, which makes it highly practical for daily life. I use march holds often because they build coordination and posture while helping clients feel more stable quickly. Over time, stronger single-leg control improves confidence during movement.

Muscles Trained: Hip flexors, glutes, calves, and core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand tall with feet hip-width apart.
  2. Brace your core and keep your chest lifted.
  3. Lift one knee toward hip height.
  4. Hold the position for 2 to 3 seconds.
  5. Lower with control.
  6. Switch sides and repeat.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 reps per side. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Supported march holds, slower holds, higher knee holds.

Form Tip: Stay tall through your torso and avoid leaning backward.

Heel-to-Toe Walks

Heel-to-toe walking improves coordination, posture, and walking stability by forcing your body to control weight shifts carefully. This movement strengthens the small stabilizers around the ankles and hips while sharpening body awareness. I like using this exercise because it dynamically challenges your balance instead of keeping you fixed in one spot. Consistent practice helps everyday walking feel smoother and more controlled.

Muscles Trained: Calves, hips, core, and lower-leg stabilizers.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand tall in an open space.
  2. Step one foot directly in front of the other.
  3. Place your heel directly in front of your back toes.
  4. Shift your weight forward slowly.
  5. Continue walking in a straight, controlled line.
  6. Turn carefully and repeat.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 20 to 30 steps. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Slower walks, supported walks, narrower line walks.

Form Tip: Keep your eyes forward instead of looking down constantly.

Single-Leg Reaches

Single-leg reaches train your hips and core to stabilize your body as it moves through space. This helps improve balance during bending, reaching, and stepping activities that occur frequently throughout the day. I often include this exercise because it builds both strength and control together. Over time, stronger hip stability helps reduce wobbling and improves lower-body coordination.

Muscles Trained: Glutes, hips, hamstrings, and core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand tall with feet hip-width apart.
  2. Shift your weight onto one leg.
  3. Reach the opposite leg slightly behind you.
  4. Hinge forward a few inches at the hips.
  5. Reach your hands forward slightly for balance.
  6. Return to standing with control.
  7. Switch sides after completing the reps.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 6 to 8 reps per side. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Toe-tap reaches, supported reaches, and slower tempo reaches.

Form Tip: Move slowly enough to keep your hips level throughout the movement.

Standing Calf Raises

Strong calves play a major role in balance and walking control because they help stabilize the ankle during every step. Calf raises improve lower-leg strength while reinforcing proper foot control and posture. I use calf raises frequently because they are simple, effective, and highly functional for adults over 60. Stronger calves often lead to smoother walking and quicker balance corrections.

Muscles Trained: Calves, feet, and ankle stabilizers.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand tall with feet hip-width apart.
  2. Brace your core and keep your posture upright.
  3. Press through the balls of your feet to rise onto your toes.
  4. Pause briefly at the top.
  5. Lower slowly with control.
  6. Repeat for the target reps.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 12 to 15 reps. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Single-leg calf raises, slow tempo raises, and supported raises.

Form Tip: Lower slowly to increase muscle control and stability.

Best Daily Habits to Improve Balance After 60

Shutterstock

Balance improves fastest when targeted exercises are paired with steady daily movement. Your body responds well to frequent practice because balance relies heavily on coordination and nervous system control. In my coaching experience, adults over 60 tend to make the biggest improvements when they challenge their balance regularly in small, manageable doses. The goal is not perfection. The goal is to build confidence and control through repetition. Use the habits below to support your progress.

  • Practice balance exercises several days per week. Frequent exposure improves coordination faster.
  • Walk daily. Regular walking reinforces balance and lower-body endurance.
  • Strength train consistently. Stronger legs and hips support steadier movement.
  • Move with control during daily tasks. Slowing down transitions improves body awareness.
  • Focus on posture throughout the day. Tall posture helps your body stabilize more efficiently.
  • Progress gradually over time. Small increases in difficulty keep your balance improving.

Stick with this 12-minute standing routine and these habits, and many adults over 60 begin to notice steadier movement, stronger coordination, and greater confidence during everyday activities.

Breaking: Iran and US Forge Path to Peace with New Ceasefire Extension Agreement

0

In brief

  • The United States and Iran have reportedly reached an agreement to extend their ceasefire by 60 days.
  • Iran has not publicly confirmed the deal and US President Donald Trump still needs to approve it.

Negotiators from the United States and Iran have provisionally agreed to prolong the existing ceasefire in the ongoing three-month conflict for an additional 60 days. This tentative pact also includes a commitment to initiate fresh discussions concerning Iran’s nuclear ambitions, according to US officials familiar with the situation, as reported by multiple media outlets.

Iran has yet to publicly acknowledge any such arrangement, and it remains unclear if US President Donald Trump will ultimately approve the deal.

This developing memorandum of understanding surfaces at a time when the already delicate ceasefire between the US and Iran seems to be faltering.

Just a day prior, tensions escalated with both nations engaging in retaliatory strikes.

The draft agreement stipulates that Iran will not be permitted to levy tolls on the Strait of Hormuz and mandates the removal of all mines from this critical maritime route within 30 days. This information was provided by an official who wished to remain anonymous due to not being authorized to speak on the matter publicly.

According to four sources familiar with the matter, the agreement would extend the truce by another 60 days and allow traffic to flow through the strategic waterway while negotiators tackle difficult issues such as Iran’s nuclear program.

During the war, Iran has effectively closed the strait, which had been the conduit for about a fifth of the world’s oil and natural gas trade.

Its closure has sent oil prices skyrocketing around the world.

US treasury secretary Scott Bessent predicted at a news briefing that the cost of oil could “come down very quickly” once a deal is finalised.

Iran has said it’s letting some commercial vessels pass — about two dozen daily in recent days, compared with more than 100 a day before the war — but the Islamic Republic also has charged tolls for at least some ships.

It set up a formal gatekeeper agency earlier this month, spurring a new round of US sanctions this week.

Under the tentative agreement, the US would gradually lift its naval blockade on Iranian ports. The US would also agree to relax sanctions, allowing Iran to sell more of its oil.

A second US official, who also spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the private diplomacy, said the broad outlines of an agreement have been reached but stressed that until Trump signs off on it, there is no deal.

The official said there are still questions about whether Trump will accept the proposal.

Iranian sources cited by local media also said a deal would only be complete when announced by Iran, not unilaterally by Trump.

Another US warning to Oman

Bessent threatened to target US ally Oman if it helped impose a tolling system in the Strait of Hormuz, warning of sanctions against all parties involved in such actions.

“Oman, in particular, should know that the US treasury will aggressively target any actors involved — directly or indirectly — in facilitating tolls for the Strait and any willing partners will be penalized,” Bessent warned in a post on X.

He said the US would “not tolerate any effort to impose a tolling system in the Strait of Hormuz”, a reference to Iranian proposals to do so as part of a potential agreement with the US.

Bessent later told a White House press briefing that he had spoken with the Omani ambassador earlier, and received assurances that “there were no plans for tolling” the critical waterway.

Trump appeared to threaten Oman a day earlier when asked about a possible short-term arrangement allowing it and Iran to control Hormuz, saying he would “blow them up” if that happened.

Kuwait condemns ‘dangerous escalation’

Wednesday’s escalation of hostilities between the US and Iran had also drawn in US ally Kuwait, which accused Iran of a “dangerous escalation”.

US strikes on the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas prompted Iran to target “the American airbase that served as the source of the attack”, according to Iranian state broadcaster IRIB.

The broadcaster did not specify the location, but Kuwait, which hosts US troops, said its air defences had responded to incoming fire.

Kuwait’s foreign ministry later condemned “the criminal Iranian attacks that targeted the territory of the State of Kuwait with missiles and drones, in a dangerous escalation”.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei described the US strikes as “violations” of the truce.

A US official told AFP the actions had been “measured” and “intended to preserve the ceasefire”.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards threatened a “firm response” in the event of renewed attacks.

Rescue Mission in Laos: Efforts Intensify to Save Trapped Villagers from Flooded Cave

0

Rescue teams at a flooded cave in Laos are intensifying efforts to drain water and free five villagers who have been trapped for over a week, officials reported on Friday.

Their mission faced setbacks due to a heavy rainstorm overnight. Meanwhile, the search continues for two additional individuals who remain unaccounted for. It is believed the villagers entered the cave to search for valuable minerals.

Rescue specialists from Laos and Thailand have been collaborating for the past week, navigating the cave’s narrow, waterlogged, and jagged pathways. The cave is situated in the rugged terrain of Xaisomboun province, approximately 75 miles north of the capital, Vientiane.

The rescue team includes seasoned divers who participated in the high-profile 2018 rescue of 12 schoolboys and their soccer coach from a cave in northern Thailand, a mission that captured international attention.

In addition, the Lao organization Rescue Volunteer for People has confirmed the involvement of a Malaysian diver in the operation. Kengkaj Bongkawong, leader of Thailand’s Metta Tham Rescue Kalasin group, noted that divers from Indonesia, Japan, and France are also en route to assist with the efforts.

The discovery on Wednesday of five trapped villagers triggered celebrations among the rescue teams. They said the search for the other missing two will continue.

A video filmed by Thai cave diver Norrased Palasing showed the emotional moment he and Finnish diving instructor Miiko Paasi emerged from the water and discovered the trapped men. In the footage, the men are wearing headlamps and sitting on a rock surrounded by floodwater.

The five men were identified by their first names as Khamla, Mued, Ee, Ing, and Laen, according to the Lao rescue group. They were reportedly in good health but exhausted from dehydration and lack of food. Divers have since delivered soft food and water to them.

The men could be heard wailing as they saw their rescuers, and Norrased inquired about their health and conditions.

Along with introducing themselves on camera, they delivered messages to their families telling them not to worry.

“Don’t worry mom, dad. I’m still strong, I’m still healthy. Tomorrow I will be home. I love you mom and dad,” said the man, who introduced himself as Mued.

Lao officials say the villagers normally forage in the mountainous, heavily wooded surroundings for a living.

The villagers had been reported to have entered the cave to look for gold deposits. Bounphong Khammanyvong, a local official in Longcheng, the district where the cave is located, said that they had noticed rocks or sand with unusual colors in the cave, so they entered it in the hope of digging them out to see if they were valuable.

Bounphong, in an interview on Thursday with local media outlet Xaisomboun Province Television, said the villagers were trapped when heavy rain caused flooding that blocked them from leaving. An eighth person who managed to escape alerted the authorities.

He said that the group went in on May 20, contradicting rescuers who put the date at May 19.

Rescue Volunteer for People posted on its Facebook page that Friday’s operation plan included pumping water out of the cave in an attempt to get the five villagers out later in the day, but that heavy early morning rain had complicated their efforts.

“The front of the cave is in a low-lying area. When it rains, all water will flow down to this area and into the cave,” Bounphong said in his interview.

TOPIC: Stopping Short (DCLM Daily Manna 29 May 2026)

KEY VERSE: And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padan-aram; and pitched his tent before the city. – Genesis 33:18

TEXT: Genesis 33:16-20 (KJV)

16 So Esau returned that day on his way unto Seir.

17 And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built him an house, and made booths for his cattle: therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.

18 And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padanaram; and pitched his tent before the city.

19 And he bought a parcel of a field, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for an hundred pieces of money.

20 And he erected there an altar, and called it EleloheIsrael.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

Lauren McMah of the Australian news site, news.com.au, once reported on Alnwick Poison Garden in Northumberland, United Kingdom. He wrote that on the gate leading to this green oasis is a grim message, a genuine warning of what lurks inside: “These plants can kill.” That is the sign that greets intrepid visitors to this sinister botanical wonderland that is home to 100 of the world’s most lethal plants. Tourists have fallen ill and fainted there, having flouted stern advice to not smell or touch anything that grows inside. “At first glance, it seems like a typical English country garden: lush trees billowing over manicured topiaries, pretty blooms dotted along gravel paths, and everything neatly enclosed in an antique-style, wrought-iron fence. But nothing here is really that innocent.”

Jacob, on his way from Haran, settled in a Canaanite city of Shechem that looked well, from the outside, but with a lot of danger within. Instead of fulfilling his promise to God, to return to Bethel, the place he first had an encounter with God twenty years earlier, he decided to settle in that city, twenty miles to Bethel. In the event, it turned out to be a very wrong decision. Things appeared to have gone well at first. The land was good for his cattle; and the inhabitants of the land were friendly. But soon, his daughter Dinah, toured the city. She was viciously raped by Shechem, the prince of the city, an incident that precipitated a bitter response that led to the death of all the men in the city, the capture of the women and the confiscation of their cattle.

Disobedience has always been at the centre of our troubles. Instead of obeying God explicitly, we rely on our human judgment and choose where to stay and what to do. It is bewildering that Jacob ignored all the instructions, and the vows he made years earlier, to return to Bethel and raise an altar to God. Why would he stay in that city? Perhaps, he was carried away by their good land, full of pasture for his flock, and the outward hospitality showed by the people of the land.

Like the poisoned garden of Northumberland, the place we are attracted to, may look beautiful and inviting. At the end, however, our lives may be endangered by the hidden poison undetectable to the eye. It is just a matter of time before real danger begins to manifest. Do not wait until calamity comes before you move towards the direction of God. Those who tarry long in the poisoned garden, may eventually lose their lives before realising the grave cost of their mistakes.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Disobedience to God is an invitation to disaster.

Jeff Bezos’ Rocket Faces Fiery Setback as Elon Musk Weighs In on Challenges

0

Jeff Bezos, the billionaire known for his trailblazing ventures, including founding Amazon and leading Blue Origin, often makes headlines with his lavish lifestyle and ambitious projects. His marriage to former journalist Lauren Sánchez and ownership of a colossal yacht have only added to his public persona. Recently, however, Bezos faced a significant setback in his quest for space exploration.

On Thursday evening, during tests for the New Glenn rocket designed to deploy broadband satellites, a dramatic explosion occurred. The 320-foot rocket erupted into a massive fireball, reminiscent of a nuclear blast, though fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Footage of the incident quickly circulated online, capturing the magnitude of the explosion:

Videos of the event are going viral because of the sheer size of the blast:

Although there are many things one can say about Bezos, both positive and negative — his Katy Perry-Gayle King NS‑31 mission was pretty cringeworthy — I actually don’t mock him for attempting to expand our frontiers. As noted in the above tweet, SpaceX founder Elon Musk, who has seen much success in his own otherworldly adventures, wrote, “Rockets are hard.”

While he may have been giving his fellow multi-billionaire a “friendly” rib with the comment, it is also undoubtedly true, as we’ve seen with the tragedy of Apollo 1 in 1967, where three astronauts were burned alive during pre‑launch testing, and many other disasters.

Bezos admitted it was a rough day:

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman also weighed in on social media, writing that “spaceflight is unforgiving, and developing new heavy-lift launch capability is extraordinarily difficult.”

The incident underscored just how incredibly complicated spaceflight is — and how dangerous. It’s a miracle that no one was hurt in this colossal explosion. RedState will keep you updated as to the cause as new information comes in.

Probation Violator Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Host: A Cautionary Tale of Friendship Gone Wrong

Joseph D. Henley, a 26-year-old resident of Gainesville, Florida, found himself in police custody following allegations that he threatened a friend who had offered him shelter. This alarming incident unfolded on a seemingly ordinary afternoon but quickly escalated into a situation that required immediate law enforcement intervention.

On May 27, around 1:32 p.m., an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived at an apartment located near the 800 block of SW 61st Street. The deputy was responding to a distress call from a woman who had initially extended her hospitality to Henley to help him avoid trouble. However, a heated argument between the two led her to ask Henley to vacate her premises.

According to the victim, Henley retreated to his room momentarily, only to reappear with a rifle and his personal items in tow. As he headed toward the exit, he allegedly made a terrifying threat, stating his intention to shoot and kill her. Fearing for her life, the woman watched as Henley, armed with the rifle, exited her apartment. In a swift move to ensure her safety, she locked the door immediately after he left.

In a crucial piece of evidence, the victim managed to snap a photograph just before Henley stepped outside. The image reportedly shows him with a hunting-style rifle slung across his back, corroborating her claims. This visual proof played a significant role in the subsequent arrest of Henley, providing the authorities with a clearer picture of the unfolding events.

The victim reportedly took a picture just before Henley stepped outside, and the deputy reported that Henley had what appeared to be a hunting-style rifle slung on his back.

Henley has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and violating probation. He has one felony conviction (violent) for a 2018 incident in which he was working as a bouncer, hit a customer with an expandable baton, and walked away without rendering aid while the victim was lying unconscious in a pool of blood; the victim was found 12 minutes later by a police officer, and the bouncers all denied knowing what had happened to him. Henley served one year in jail, followed by eight years of probation, and is designated as a violent felony offender of special concern.

Judge Meshon Rawls ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
