Explosive Drama Unfolds: Alicia Labels Rosie a ‘Snake’ While Liz Embraces Her Inner ‘Drunken Witch’ in Heated Kelsey Showdown

In the latest installment of Real Housewives of Rhode Island, tensions flare as Liz and Kelsey mend their friendship, but Rosie finds herself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. In a state where loyalty is paramount, Rosie’s attempts to stir drama don’t sit well with Alicia, who prides herself on being a “sensitive gangster” and refuses to let Rosie twist her words.

RHORI Recap: Alicia Calls Rosie a “Snake,” Liz Brands Herself a “Drunken Witch” and Apologizes to Kelsey After Clash, Plus Alicia Gets Emotional Over Fiancé’s Financial Control

Liz welcomes her twin sister, Dolores, for a sage ceremony at her home. After Jo-Ellen’s confrontation with Rulla, Liz feels it’s time to cleanse the space. She questions Rulla’s persistent denials regarding affair rumors, and Dolores observes the mean-spirited behavior from the previous night. Liz admits she came off as a “drunken witch” in her altercation with Kelsey, attributing her outburst to Kelsey’s avoidance of personal issues involving Dino.

Discussing the situation further, Liz reveals that Dino and Kelsey had a brief romantic involvement, which some have exaggerated into a scandalous affair involving Liz. This narrative hits a nerve for Liz, who feels betrayed by Kelsey. She acknowledges the need to apologize to Kelsey but insists that Kelsey also owes her an apology.

Ashley decides to whisk the ladies away to her favorite beach, hoping to shake up their typical country club scene. While indulging in pizza chips, Rosie suggests a trip to Rail Explorers, aiming for a drama-free outing. However, after the previous night’s events, tensions remain high. Jo-Ellen continues to involve herself in Rulla’s marriage, prompting Alicia to remind everyone of Rulla’s history: she met Brian while he was still married to her Spanish teacher.

Ashley brings the ladies to her favorite beach, but this is culture shock to this country club/beach club crew.  As they nosh on some pizza chips (where’s the cheese?!), Rosie invites them to Rail Explorers for some activities.  She is hopeful this type of outing will curtail any fighting, but after last night, nothing is off the table. Jo-Ellen is all up in Rulla’s marriage and Alicia points out that once a cheater, always a cheater: Rulla met Brian when he was married to her Spanish teacher.

But “enough about Rulla and her weirdo husband…” Alicia is about to lose it if Kelsey doesn’t explain what happened with Liz. Kelsey shares that she thought Liz should try to distance herself from any type of rumors about Dino and the alleged affair. Alicia explains that Liz is no BS and she even gets scared of her, so Kelsey better figure things out.

While Jo-Ellen is out of town for work, her sister comes to the rescue to help out at the house.  Despite her hubby touching her sister’s boobs while they were in high school, Jo-Ellen is not worried, even IF her sister refers to her and Gary as an old married couple and even IF her sister does perpetuate this fun “little game of flirting” with her husband.

Alicia loves spending time with her family and so she has invited a few of the ladies to join in on the fun. It is helpful that she has a long history with Liz.  Liz’s sister and Alicia’s mom are best friends, so Liz knows the whole gang and is basically part of the family. Rulla arrives and explains their interconnected lives between jewelry and pizzerias, whereas Ashley is very much the outsider.

The ladies get to chatting and everyone is kind of over Billy not putting Liz’s name on the house.  Billy is very much in control of Liz’s finances and although Alicia has been engaged to him for quite some time, she is still hesitant in getting married because she needs to feel more of a commitment.

Rulla gives her marital opinion and vaguely mentions the “bumps” in her own marriage. Rulla opens up about the indiscretions that her husband had and shares that she is having a hard time getting over the lies. As Rulla listens to all of the war stories from Alicia’s family about wandering husbands, she tries to find the good in Brian.  But at the end of the day, they all “hope and pray that” Rulla somehow hurts him. LOL.

Rosie explains that she does like children, yet she is unsure if she wants that responsibility of having her own. As she visits with Ashley and her kids, she admits that she is not ready to be a mom. Rosie shares that she was trying to get pregnant before they even got married, but she is very much in the gray area about this topic.  This might have something to do with Rosie’s relationship with her mom and she does not want to mess up any kids.

Liz’s husband’s sport fishing chapter is coming to an end and so he has sold the boat.  He used to be gone for three weeks to a month and it wasn’t uncommon for Gerry to call Dino to have him look after Liz.  Kelsey has been called upon to help Liz clean out the boat, but Kelsey is nervous after the way they left things.

Liz admits that she is not proud of her reactions and the word “ongoing” triggered her big time. Kelsey feels like she said it because she had a different experience with Dino and it wasn’t so good. Kelsey shares that she hooked up with Dino about ten years ago and he would show up to places Kelsey was after she called it off.  Therefore, she tried to cut him out of her life, but Dino is now around all the time.  Kelsey shares that she has PTSD over her relationship with Dino, but in the end, both ladies apologize and move on.

Rulla is thrilled to learn Jo-Ellen is out of town for Rosie’s workout outing.  After the way they left things, it’s better off.  On the car ride there, Rosie opens up about her colitis and claims she left the news job on medical leave, but Kelsey knows she really got fired for having an affair with one of the higher ups.  Woah.

The ladies arrive at Rail Explorers, pour themselves some drinks, and get going.  Rosie gets paired up with Liz and shakes her down for some information about Ashley.  Liz explains that her first impression of Ashley is not great, but Rosie lets Liz know that people think she’s scary.

As they sit down to eat, Rosie fills Ashley in on what Liz said about her.  Ashley swears that she is just shy, which people might mistake as b*tchiness. They walk back over to Alicia talking about her issues with Bill and she says that she has never had a conversation with Bill about her issues. Alicia wants Bill to put her on the house to show her that she is worth something and she becomes emotional role playing with Kelsey. Rulla reminds Alicia that she has value, despite not having any financial gains to bring to the table.

Later, Ashley states that she and Rosie have been intimated by Liz. Liz makes it clear that although she may look tough on the outside, deep down she is a softie.  She does not allow many people to get close to her and admits that she was drunk and heated at her party, which is why she lost it on Kelsey.

Rosie decides to stir the pot today.  “Alicia, you said she’s (Liz’s) always like that when she gets mad.” Ooo Rosie throwing Alicia under the bus. Alicia is not happy that Rosie is spinning this around and Liz is demanding to hear the truth. Rosie is doing a good job of p*ssing Alicia off and Alicia calls Rosie a “f*cking troll.”  She does not like how Rosie twisted her words and refers to her as a thirsty b*tch.

Rosie plays dumb and claims that Alicia thinks she is trying to start a problem with Liz. Ashley feels so bad for Rosie and realizes just how far Alicia would go to defend Liz. Alicia keeps calling Rosie a snake and Liz comes to talk to her off the ledge.

It is clear that Rosie will exaggerate and manipulate the truth, but that is not going to work with this group. Rosie apologizes to Alicia who is slowly coming down from her rage.  Alicia refers to herself as a “sensitive gangster” and as quickly as this fight erupted, they are already hugging it out. Rosie lives to see another day…this time.

Kash Patel Vows Legal Action Over Alleged 2020 Election Fraud Conspiracy

0

Kash Patel has declared that arrests are on the horizon as part of what he describes as an extensive conspiracy related to the 2020 presidential election.

This assertion from the FBI director follows closely on the heels of significant controversy sparked by a scathing report that accused Patel of unpredictable behavior and excessive alcohol consumption.

In a Sunday morning appearance on Fox News, Patel emphasized that those responsible for allegedly manipulating the election in favor of former President Joe Biden will be held accountable.

“This is something I will never let go,” Patel stated when questioned about the 2020 election. “They attempted to manipulate the entire system, and I will not stand by.”

“Arrests are imminent. I assure you, they are coming soon,” he added.

The comments marked his most forceful public declaration yet, going beyond previous hints that the FBI had gathered evidence tied to President Donald Trump’s long-standing claims that the election was stolen.

Such claims that have been repeatedly rejected by courts, election officials, and even Trump’s own Justice Department during his first term.

Patel stopped short of providing any specifics about the alleged evidence, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

But he insisted the material exists and suggested it is being folded into a broader conspiracy case being pursued alongside Department of Justice prosecutors under Attorney General Todd Blanche.

FBI Director Kash Patel said on Fox News that arrests related to a 2020 election conspiracy are imminent, stating: “It’s coming. I promise you it’s coming soon.”

‘We have the information that backs President Trump’s claim,’ Patel said earlier in the same interview. ‘I can’t get ahead of the DOJ and the president, but President Trump… speaks truthfully when he says that.’

‘Stay tuned this week. You might see a thing or two,’ he teased.

The extraordinary claims come at a moment of mounting pressure on Patel personally, following a bombshell report published by The Atlantic that painted a deeply troubling portrait of the FBI director’s conduct behind closed doors.

According to the report – based on interviews with more than two dozen current and former FBI officials – Patel has been ‘erratic, suspicious of others, and prone to jumping to conclusions before he has necessary evidence,’ with some sources describing his behavior as a potential ‘national-security vulnerability.’

The article alleged that meetings had to be rescheduled because Patel had been drinking the night before, and that concerns had been raised internally about whether alcohol may have contributed to missteps in high-profile investigations, including the aftermath of the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Hours after the killing of the conservative activist in September 2025, Patel took to X to announce that the ‘subject’ in Kirk’s murder was finally ‘in custody.’

But he walked back his earlier statement shortly after, announcing that the suspect ‘has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement.’

It also claimed that staffers at one point struggled to reach Patel due to his alleged drinking, and that concerns within the bureau have intensified as his behavior grew more unpredictable.

The Atlantic magazine published a report Friday alleging that officials are alarmed over FBI Director Kash Patel’s alleged excessive drinking

On one occasion, staffers allegedly requested ‘breaching equipment’ used in SWAT raids and hostage situations to try and break down his door, according to The Atlantic.

Patel is known to enjoy alcohol and has frequently appeared visibly intoxicated at clubs in Washington and in his home city of Las Vegas.

He reportedly also enraged the president after he was filmed chugging beer with the US men’s hockey team following their Olympic victory.

Fearing he was about to be fired by the Trump administration, he allegedly called aides and allies in panic – a reaction that, according to the report, quickly reached the White House.

Officials told the outlet they are increasingly alarmed about whether the FBI could respond to a national crisis like a terror attack with Patel at the helm.

‘That’s what keeps me up at night,’ an unnamed official told the publication.

Patel has categorically denied the allegations and is now preparing to take legal action.

‘You want to attack my character? Come at me. Bring it on. I’ll see you in court,’ he said on Sunday, confirming that a defamation lawsuit against The Atlantic is expected to be filed.

Patel’s advisor Erica Knight released a statement on X stating that Patel has only taken off a ‘grand total of 17 days’ and has worked more than his predecessors

Patel dismissed the report as part of a broader media campaign against him, calling it the work of a ‘fake news mafia’ and arguing that such attacks are evidence the FBI is effectively doing its job.

‘If the fake news mafia isn’t hitting you personally with baseless information in Washington, D.C., then you’re not doing your job,’ Patel said.

In response to The Atlantic’s recent bombshell claims, Patel’s advisor Erica Knight released a pointed statement on X, calling it a story ‘that every real DC reporter chased, couldn’t verify, and passed on.’

‘Here’s reality. Since being sworn in, Director Patel has taken a grand total of 17 days off – half as much time off as Comey and Wray – and he spends twice as much time in the office as either of them ever did,’ Knight wrote.

‘The so-called ‘intoxication incidents’ The Atlantic breathlessly reports have happened exactly ZERO times,’ she added.

She went on to list statistics she said were achieved under Patel’s tenure, including 67,000 arrests nationwide and ‘2,200+ kilos of fentanyl seized – enough to kill 178 million Americans.’ Such claims have not been independently verified.

The clash between Patel and The Atlantic has rapidly escalated into a high-stakes confrontation, with both sides digging in.

The magazine’s reporter, Sarah Fitzpatrick, has publicly stood by her reporting, stating in an interview that she ‘stand[s] by every word of this reporting’ and emphasizing that it was based on extensive sourcing, including current and former FBI personnel.

Meanwhile, Patel’s legal team has accused the outlet of publishing ‘false, unsourced and facially defamatory’ claims, arguing that the reporting relied on vague and unattributed allegations.

19-Year-Old Arrested with Marijuana and Ammo: Gang-Related Charges Elevate Case

0

Staff Report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Authorities have detained 19-year-old Jamarian Lamar Gray, accusing him of marijuana distribution and illegal possession of ammunition following a traffic incident. Officials have also levied additional charges related to gang activity due to the ammunition possession.

On the evening of April 18, at approximately 7:47 p.m., an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a scooter on SW 6th Place near the 6900 block. The vehicle, which lacked proper lighting for nighttime operation, narrowly avoided a head-on collision with a minivan by veering into oncoming traffic, prompting the intervention.

The deputy reported that Gray, the scooter’s operator, exhibited aggressive behavior both verbally and physically upon being stopped. Additionally, there was a noticeable odor of both burnt and fresh marijuana emanating from him.

Upon informing Gray of an impending search based on probable cause, his agitation reportedly increased, and he attempted to leave the scene. After being restrained with handcuffs, Gray allegedly tried to escape once more. Throughout the search, he is reported to have persistently resisted by pushing and pulling away from the officers.

Two bags of marijuana, with a total weight of 32.5 grams, were reportedly found in his shorts pockets, along with six empty “apple seed” baggies and one round of 9mm ammunition; an almost-full box of zipper bags was reportedly found in a shopping bag he was carrying.

A deputy noted that Gray is a suspect in a theft of ammunition from Bass Pro, and that investigation is ongoing.

A deputy reported that during the incident, Gray and his friends at the scene made “numerous hand gestures/signs” that included making a “W” for “westside” — a “known blood criminal street gang affiliate.” The deputy reported that Gray stated several times that he was “about that life,” and Gray and his friends were all wearing “bright red clothing mixed with black, also a known sign of ‘flagging,’ or representing gang colors.”

Post Miranda, Gray reportedly did not want to speak to the deputy, but he stated spontaneously that he knows he is an adjudicated juvenile delinquent and cannot possess guns or ammunition.

Gray has been charged with possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of ammunition by a gang-related juvenile delinquent (a sentencing enhancement), possession of drug paraphernalia in order to transport drugs, and resisting an officer without violence.

Gray has a juvenile conviction from 2022 for burglary of an unoccupied vehicle, and Judge Denise Ferrero ordered him released on his own recognizance.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Stefanik Engages in Intense Debate with Media Host Over Alleged ‘Genocide’ in Iran and Viral Trump Post

0

For how many years has the media been attempting to corner President Donald Trump—is it a decade now?

Their efforts have repeatedly fallen short.

Nevertheless, they persist. Isn’t there an old saying about repeating the same actions and expecting different outcomes? The media seems undeterred.

During a segment of “State of the Union” on Sunday, CNN’s Jake Tapper found himself outmaneuvered by Republican Representative Elise Stefanik from New York’s 21st district.

Tapper suggested that Trump’s April 7 remark about the Iranian regime, stating that “their whole civilization will die,” amounted to advocating for “genocide.”

Tapper claimed that Trump’s comment on April 7 about dealing with the Iranian regime, that their “whole civilization will die,” was the same thing as “genocide.”

TAPPER: Call for genocide on a college campus and a call for genocide made by the president of the United States, like, they’re both bad, right?

STEFANIK: President Trump didn’t call for genocide, Jake. You were putting those words in his mouth. He is engaging in diplomatic back and forth!

TAPPER: Your entire civilization will die?

STEFANIK: It’s the terrorist regime, Jake. He’s targeting the terrorist regime. You’re adding genocide. That’s NOT what he’s stated! He wasn’t calling for genocide. It was targeted towards the Iranian terrorist regime. It was targeted towards the Iranian terrorist regime.

TAPPER: Agree to disagree (smirking).

Typical CNN Tapper. Stefanik chided him. “If you want to prop up the Iranian terrorist regime, that’s on you,” she said.

Trump was using harsh language to reach a terrorist regime, talking in words that would move them, to get them to the negotiating table. That succeeded, as Stefanik noted. The regime believed him; they believed they were in deep trouble; they even deployed “human shields” out to bridges and power plants. Without that threat, he might not have gotten them to the table.

What Jake leaves out, too, is the context of his comments in that same tweet. Trump followed the “civilization” comment by talking about the regime’s “47 years of extortion, corruption, and death will finally end,” and “God bless the Great People of Iran!” So obviously, he was talking about taking out the regime, the evil “civilization” they had imposed on the people, and helping the people in so doing, just as Stefanik said.

Trump had also spent much of the day before talking passionately about the people of Iran and all they had gone through, so that also put paid to Tapper’s assertion. He’s spoken repeatedly about the bravery of the Iranian people who resist the regime.

Republican Rift Intensifies Over Salazar’s Dignity Act: A Deep Dive into the Immigration Bill Debate

Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar from Florida has a clear message for critics targeting her Dignity Act on immigration reform and border security: she’s ready for the challenge.

In recent weeks, the South Florida representative has been under fire from conservative commentators and fellow Republicans in Congress. Critics are even calling for primary opponents to unseat Salazar and any other GOP members backing her bill.

“I welcome the challenge,” Salazar stated on Thursday regarding the primary threats. “That’s just part of the political process.”

“This is the game I prefer,” Salazar added. “It beats the political climates in Cuba, Venezuela, or Iran. It’s not always pretty, perfect, or comfortable, but it’s the American way of handling things.”

Earlier this week, Salazar took a direct approach, confronting Rep. Brandon Gill from Texas, one of her bill’s most vocal Republican adversaries, right on the House floor.

“I said, why don’t you explain to me what is it that you know that I don’t about immigration?” Salazar said of their conversation, adding it was “very nice” and that Gill had “some legitimate points.”

Salazar said that she pitched Gill on doing a public, perhaps televised, debate over her legislation.

Asked about that conversation, Gill — first correcting a question about the measure by noting its official name is the Dignidad Act — said he had good conversations with both Salazar and Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.), another one of the bill’s cosponsors.

“We’re just diametrically opposed on this issue. I’m taking the conservative side and they’ve taken the Democrat side,” Gill said. “We are so wildly divergent on this issue. It’s hard to imagine how we reach some form of consensus.”

As for a public debate about the bill, Gill said he would be open to doing something like that.

“I think that the bill needs to be scrapped entirely. And we can start with something fresh, and maybe we can discuss that, but I think we’re pretty far off from the Dignidad Act being something that’s actionable,” Gill said. “I don’t think that anybody seriously thinks that I’m going to vote for this under any circumstances with any amendments to it whatsoever.”

Under the legislation, those migrants in the country illegally prior to 2021 — who do not have criminal records — could pay $7,000 in restitution and any back taxes owed and get a new legal status. They would also not be eligible for welfare programs, and the legal status would not provide them a path to citizenship.

The bill separately boosts security, funding for border security and technology, and requires the use of E-Verify, a system to verify immigration status in employment.

Salazar says that because there is no path to citizenship in the bill, it is not “amnesty.”

But conservative critics argue any new legal status would amount to amnesty — pushback that reached a fever pitch online and in conservative media this month.

Conservative commentator and operative Ryan Gidursky last week built on that uproar by launching the Homeland PAC, a super PAC dedicated to “ending the career of every Republican who supports amnesty and sells out the American people on immigration.” A video released alongside the launch listed the Dignity Act’s cosponsors.

This has made some big-tent Republicans nervous, since many of the bill’s co-sponsors — including Salazar — represent competitive districts that Democrats are hoping to flip in the midterms. The fight, they worry, could end up costing Republicans some seats – and the House majority.

The PAC has not yet made moves to support any primary challengers to Republicans backing Salazar’s bill, however, and the filing deadline for the 2026 primary season has already passed in a number of districts. But Gidursky said the quickly-launched PAC is looking at its options, not only for this cycle but in the future.

“It is a corporate giveaway with an abuela on the face of it,” Gidursky said of Salazar’s bill.

That stands in contrast to Salazar’s argument that providing a new legal status would help boost the economy by providing key industries “with the workers that we need.” She highlighted that argument in a press conference last week with the president of the National Association of Manufacturers, Jay Timmons, whose organization has endorsed the Dignity Act.

In other corners of the Republican conference, though, tolerance of the bill could be seen as a political liability. Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.) said he has not spoken to his Florida colleague about the bill since criticism exploded in the last few weeks, but added that he felt it was important to let his constituents know where he stands.

“It’s important to tell our base, the people who sent us here, that we’re not going to give amnesty to illegal immigrants,” Fine said. “This is a critical issue. It’s the number one issue with the people that I speak about. It engenders fury, this idea that we would grant amnesty to these illegals.”

While the bill has little chance of getting a vote or becoming law in this Congress, it has ignited a debate among Republicans about whether it is more important to try to combat a decline in support for the GOP among Hispanic and Latino voters who helped propel the party to victory in 2024, or to show voters they are delivering on a hard-line immigration stance.

“I believe that we should be consistent with the central thesis of the last election cycle, which is that the American people want their country back. They voted for mass deportations, and we should do everything we can to fulfill the promises that were made on the campaign trail to deport legal aliens,” Gill said.

But Salazar, who represents a heavily Hispanic and Latino district, retorted that Trump can still “conduct the biggest mass deportation” ever if the bill is enacted, noting it would not give any special status to the millions of migrants that came in during the Biden administration.

The Florida congresswoman said that her critics ultimately “have a valid and a respectable point of view.”

“I don’t agree because I’m telling them, Hey, wake up. Look at the facts,” Salazar said.

Tragic Car Accident Claims Lives of Two US Embassy Officials in Mexico

Tragedy struck on Sunday when two officials from the U.S. Embassy, a Mexican official, and a police officer from the Mexican state of Chihuahua lost their lives in a car accident. This unfortunate incident occurred against the backdrop of their collaborative work to dismantle a drug laboratory in the municipality of Morelos, as reported by Reuters.

In the wake of this devastating event, U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, expressed his condolences and highlighted the inherent dangers faced by officials on both sides of the border who are committed to safeguarding their communities. “This tragedy is a solemn reminder of the risks faced by those Mexican and U.S. officials who are dedicated to protecting our communities,” Johnson conveyed in a heartfelt statement shared on the social media platform X.

He further emphasized the importance of continuing their mission, saying, “It strengthens our resolve to continue their mission and advance our shared commitment to security and justice, to protect our people.”

As of now, the State Department has not provided the identities of the two U.S. Embassy officials involved, despite inquiries made by The Hill.

The State Department did not immediately respond to The Hill’s request for the names of the two embassy officials who were killed.

The incident follows the death of Jalisco New Generation Cartel leader Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, also known as “El Mencho.”

Cervantes was killed by the Mexican military in February, and violent outbursts erupted following his death. A total of 30 cartel members and 25 Mexican National Guard members were killed in the days after the gang leader’s death.

Protesters Launch Legal Battle Against Controversial Anti-Hate Speech Laws, Calling Them ‘Absurd and Stupid

in brief

  • Pro-Palestinian protesters are challenging Queensland’s hate speech laws after arrests were made over the weekend.
  • A group arrested on Saturday faces 14 charges of displaying a prohibited expression and seven charges of reciting a prohibited expression.

Pro-Palestinian activists are preparing to challenge Queensland’s hate speech laws in court, following a series of arrests during a protest against these regulations.

On Sunday, Justice for Palestine Magan-djin supporters took their demonstration to the steps of the state parliament in Brisbane. This protest occurred just a day after police detained 20 individuals for allegedly using or displaying two prohibited slogans.

Sunday’s rally saw at least two more participants apprehended for similar allegations.

Earlier in the year, Queensland enacted legislation prohibiting the phrases “from the river to the sea” and “globalise the intifada,” classifying them as anti-Semitic hate speech. This decision has sparked significant debate.

The slogans, commonly heard at pro-Palestinian rallies in Australia and beyond, are controversial due to their varied interpretations.

The full saying “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” refers to the land between the Jordan River, which borders eastern Israel, and the Mediterranean Sea to the west.

Anyone who recites or displays the terms can face up to two years in jail if found to have used the popular pro-Palestine chants to menace or harass others.

The group arrested on Saturday faces 14 charges of displaying a prohibited expression and seven charges of reciting a prohibited expression.

But Subhi Awad, from Justice for Palestine Magan-djin, said the group would mount a constitutional challenge against the laws.

They had received legal advice that “almost everyone” of the arrested protesters had acted legally if they used the prohibited expression, he said.

“(The law) provides that it is a reasonable excuse to use the prohibited expression for a purpose that is in the public interest and (their) conduct is reasonable in the circumstances,” he said.

“The section provides, as an example of what is a purpose in the public interest, use of the prohibited expression in a genuine political dispute carried on in the public interest.”

‘Absurd and stupid laws’

At the rally outside parliament on Sunday, Greens senator Mehreen Faruqi said telling the truth was becoming a crime.

“Your state, Queensland, is at the spear tip of this fight for civil liberties,” she said.

“We are here today, standing with those who refuse to be silenced, who refuse to obey these bad, appalling, reckless, but also absurd and stupid laws.”

Queensland Premier David Crisafulli previously said the laws provided strong protection and came in response to clear calls from the Jewish community.

“This is about drawing a clear line — and stamping out the embers of hatred that were allowed to burn unchecked for too long — to ensure we protect Queenslanders,” he said in announcing the legislation.

But Australian Progressive Party state leader Edward Carroll, who was among those arrested on Saturday, said the laws “do not protect us as Jewish people”.

“They are not about combating antisemitism — they are about silencing dissent and support for Palestine,” he said.

IShowSpeed Challenges KSI: Bold Promise to Outperform in the Ring After Sidemen Jab

0

Renowned YouTube personality Darren “IShowSpeed” has publicly declared his intent to “whoop” Olajide “JJ,” widely known as “KSI,” after the latter stirred the pot by suggesting that Twitch streamer Jason “Jasontheween” outshines him in boxing. The spark was lit on April 19, 2026, when Jasontheween shared a snapshot of himself with KSI on X, following an intense ten-round boxing match that captivated his Twitch audience.

Jasontheween, who previously was part of FaZe Clan, proudly posted the photo, highlighting his recent in-ring accomplishment. This prompted KSI to engage with the post, drawing a comparison between Jason’s boxing prowess and that of IShowSpeed.

In response, IShowSpeed didn’t hold back. He quickly voiced his determination to take on KSI, recalling their last boxing encounter four years prior when he was just 17. Now, having grown and matured, he confidently stated his readiness to face KSI once more.

The Briton eventually quote-tweeted Jason’s social media post, comparing him to Darren, writing:

“I gotta give it to him, he did better than speed”

“I’ll bet $100,000 on speed winning” MrBeast replied.

“Bro your a** got wheeped at wrestling mania sit down be humble” X user @vichymachor commented.

“Yo Speed, you already got whooped once lil bro, now you out here begging for round 2 like the grown man energy finally hit Put them gloves on for real, I got my popcorn ready for when KSI forehead dents you again wallahi.” X user @thesaincurry remarked.

“1 minute in the ring and you acquired the ego of John Cena?” X user @SolaTheAnalyst wrote.

When did KSI and IShowSpeed box?

KSI and IShowSpeed collaborated on December 15, 2023, for an IRL livestream in London, during which they boxed for charity, with all proceeds benefiting the Anthony Walker Foundation.

The hour-long livestream ended with KSI, being a seasoned fighter, dominating IShowSpeed. However, the 32-year-old chose to “tap out,” handing the victory to the YouTube streamer.

IShowSpeed appeared displeased by KSI’s decision and exclaimed:

“It’s not over. I said six rounds. I’m a grown a** man. I can do it. On god, it’s not over. I said six rounds. I’m not done fighting. I said six rounds, come one! Stop being a b**ch.”

IShowSpeed made headlines on April 9, 2026, when he confirmed that he is getting an anime series in collaboration with Netflix’s One Piece writer, Matt Owens.
