She has bravely shared several photographs of her face after her surgery and explained that her eyelid has been temporarily stitched closed.

Katie, who is married to her husband Richard Sutton and a mum-of-two Katie, was horrifically attacked with sulphuric acid 15 years ago, says the surgery will help her deteriorating sight to heal.

Her surgeon has also worked on scar tissue on her right eye, which has caused her eyes to swell.

Tragically, she has felt it necessary to ask keyboard warriors not to ‘troll her’ as she opened up about her latest operation.

She explained on Instagram that her latest operation is called Tarsorrhaphy, and it came after her lifelong recovery went “backward”.

she said: “This is me! (For now). On Tuesday I had a planned operation, a Tarsorrhaphy to my left eye.

“Tarsorrhaphy is the joining of part or all of the upper and lower eyelids so as to partially or completely close the eye.

“Temporary tarsorrhaphies are used to help the cornea heal or to protect the cornea during a short period of exposure or disease.

“I’ve also had scar tissue operated on on my right eye, so that will also be slightly swollen.”

She continued: “I wanted to put this here for a few reasons: Firstly to educate that living with the kind of injuries I have means things will change throughout your life and sometimes things go backwards.

“There isn’t really an end point and part of this kind of recovery is acceptance of that.

“Secondly with a disfigurement surgical decisions have to be based around function, not aesthetics. In my case, I am trying to preserve the eye, avoid perforation and lose my eye completely.

“Also just because something is on view permanently it doesn’t give people the right to constantly comment on your appearance- you never know what’s going on in someone’s life.”

She went on to admit that she does “find it hard”.

“Also, if this helps anyone else…. yes I do sometimes find it hard,” she admitted.

“I’m okay with looking different to everyone else but operations can sometimes take me back to memories of how this all started and that’s hard mentally.

“I always think I’m incredibly lucky with this space here on IG. I feel like I have an intelligent, interesting, and kind following.

“So I know most of you will find this update useful and probably have had your own similar journeys of medical or mental health recoveries, but for the few that will send msgs or leave negative comments (I’ve heard them all before, nothing new) then this explanation/ education is for you,” Katie said.

She added: “I’m still the same person. I’ve just had a different path in life to most and that’s ok.

“For the most part, I live a fulfilling, privileged, and very happy life. For that, I’m extremely grateful. But as I recover I’m asking that you please don’t troll me.”

She finished by thanking her eye surgeon, Mr Joshi, for his and his team’s “care, compassion and skill” over the years.

The star has her own Katie Piper Foundation for burns sufferers and she has been inundated with well-wishes.

Luisa Zissman, her friend and former Apprentice star, however, told her: “This post made me sad you have to ask not to be trolled.

Actor Paul Walker felt a certain responsibility to stay in The Fast and the Furious franchise. One of his reasons for wanting to do the film was because of the backlash Vin Diesel received for leaving the series behind.

Not even Walker could’ve predicted that Fast and Furious would’ve become the mega-hit it is today. But the actor was a part of the franchise from its beginning, even before the film series had its famous title.

“I was working on The Skulls with basically the same team, Rob Cohen, Neal Moritz. Same studio, Universal,” Walker once told Access. “And Neal Moritz, the producer, approached me and he asked me, he said, ‘Paul, what would you like to do next?’ And I told him, I said, ‘Well you know I’ve always liked the idea of playing a cop.’”

Eventually, Walker was offered the cop movie he wanted, which would take the form of Fast and Furious.

“Three months after that he came to me with this idea. He’s all, ‘Look, the backdrop is modern-day drag racing, you can play an undercover cop, you get to drive around in fast cars, and you get to make out with a hot chick,” Walker said. “And so I was like, ‘Alright, cool. I’ll do it.’”

Walker would later become a fixture in the series, starring in the first film and its sequels. Even after the film’s star, Vin Diesel, left the project, Walker remained on board. This was partially because he felt a sense of responsibility towards his fans to stick with the series.

“[They ask me] will you do a third one? And I say: I don’t know,” Walker once told Moviehole. “’Well, if you do a third one, who’s going to be in it – Tyrese or Vin?’ Well, I don’t know. And they say: ‘Well, it should be Tyrese because Vin’s ego precluded him from being in the second one.’ So my whole thing is: I don’t want them saying that about me. Because the studio will go and make a third one, and in a way I’d feel that I was letting these kids down.”

Still, it seemed that Walker opted out of starring in Tokyo Drift, which ended up starring Lucas Black and Bow Wow.

Why Vin Diesel didn’t return for the earlier ‘Fast and Furious’ sequels

Diesel might be at the center of the Fast series now. But back in the early to mid 2000s, it seemed likely that the actor left the franchise completely behind. However, in a resurfaced interview with BackstageOl, Diesel revealed that ego wasn’t the reason he initially didn’t return. Rather, the Riddick star didn’t think the first Fast and the Furious film needed any sequels.

“After the first one, I was in London, and I was with all the owners at Universal. They talked about doing a sequel. I said, ‘No, don’t ever do a sequel. You’ll ruin it. Don’t do a sequel,’” Diesel said. “And that’s because, as you remember in the last millennium, in the 90s and the 80s, if you did a sequel, you were compromising the quality somehow of the story. And I thought, you’re crazy.”

However, Diesel revealed that his producing partner decided to develop a sequel anyway despite the actor’s reservations. Diesel was still courted for the franchise, but he stuck to his guns. After the third Fast movie Tokyo Drift, Diesel noticed that fan demand for Dominic Toretto was overwhelming.

“After they screened the third one, they came to me and said, ‘hey, we just did a test audience screening, and they’re not having no Dom Toretto,’” Diesel added. “And I realized, as Paul Walker used to say all the time, that the fans would really get angry if you weren’t in Fast. Paul used to say, ‘Hey, what’s wrong? Are you too good for us?’”

Diesel realized Walker had a point, and returned to the Fast family for good afterwards.

Paul Walker once shared what he thought the biggest misconception of ‘Fast and Furious’ was

In a resurfaced interview with PasMag, the late actor reflected on his time in the franchise. He revealed what might’ve been a big misconception of the Fast movies over the years.

“At one point I think the misconception was that this was just going to be a flash in the pan, that it was just a glorified ‘B’ movie,” Walker said. “And were we? Maybe we were. Are we now? I don’t know, maybe we are. For me to be objective, I don’t even know. What I do know is that people love it. And so the naysayers, the people that want to hate — I get it man, we can’t make a movie for everybody. But we have, apparently, made a movie for the masses.”

Man on probation arrested for robbery after allegedly snatching phone from woman during Facebook Marketplace transaction

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Isaac Levern Fleming, III, 19, was arrested yesterday after allegedly snatching an iPhone from a woman selling the phone on Facebook Marketplace and then selling the phone to Game Stop.

The victim had put her iPhone up for sale on Facebook Marketplace and had been contacted by “Steve Watson.” She arranged to meet him at the northwest Walmart and sell him the phone for $600.

At about 8:15 p.m. on November 10, the victim went to Walmart, where she was approached by Fleming, who reportedly identified himself as “Jamal.” While the victim was demonstrating that the iPhone worked, Fleming allegedly pushed her to the ground, grabbed the phone, and ran.

The victim looked at the “Steve Watson” profile on Facebook and found that the profile only had three friends; one of them, “Offtop Ike,” had pictures resembling the man who had robbed her. A Gainesville Police Department investigator reportedly matched the “Offtop Ike” profile to Fleming, and the victim reportedly identified Fleming in a six-person photo line-up.

The GPD officer searched a pawn network for the iPhone and found that it had been sold at Game Stop at 2631 NW 13th Place on November 11 by Fleming’s mother. The employee who completed the transaction told the officer that he remembered a young man bringing the phone in, but he couldn’t sell it because he didn’t have an ID. The young man went to get his mother, who was outside, and she completed the transaction.

The officer spoke with Fleming’s mother, who confirmed that she sold the phone for him but said she did not know it was stolen.

Post Miranda, Fleming reportedly said he found the phone in the bushes near Walmart and decided to sell it; he denied meeting with the victim. He reportedly admitted that the “Offtop Ike” Facebook profile was his and said his mother did not know the phone was stolen.

Fleming has been charged with robbery by sudden snatching and dealing in stolen property. He has juvenile criminal convictions between 2018 and 2021 and is on probation following a July 2022 arrest for unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon and resisting an officer without violence. He originally entered into a pre-trial intervention contract, but it was revoked in February 2023 because he was found to have smoked marijuana. In April, Fleming entered a plea of nolo contendere to the charges, which carry a maximum sentence of six years in state prison, in exchange for withhholding adjudication of guilt and 18 months of probation on the concealed weapon charge and adjudication of guilt and 12 months of probation on the charge of resisting arrest.

Judge Mark Moseley set bail at $40,000. Fleming has not yet been charged with violation of probation.
