In a definitive decree, the Victorian Minister for Health has mandated COVID-19 vaccinations for all school staff. This sweeping policy covers a wide range of personnel including principals, teachers, administrative staff, education support personnel, casual relief teachers (CRTs), pre-service teachers, and those working in Outside School Hours Care.
Timing for Your Booster Shot
To comply, every staff member is expected to receive three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with exceptions only granted under specific exemption criteria.
According to the pandemic mandates, any education worker without an exemption must have received their third vaccine shot by the specified deadline or they will be prohibited from attending any school or early childhood education and care facilities.
Staff vaccinated before or on October 25, 2021, need to have scheduled their booster appointment by March 25, 2022, if their third dose was not completed by February 25, 2022.
Employees who are not yet eligible for their third dose are required to receive a third dose within 3 months and 2 weeks of receiving their second dose.
