The grand conclusion of American Idol Season 24 is set to light up screens on Monday, May 11, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, featuring a stellar lineup of music icons. This season saw the return of beloved host Ryan Seacrest, alongside judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan.
In the thrilling penultimate episode, the Top 5 contestants—Braden Rumfelt, Chris Tungseth, Hannah Harper, Jordan McCullough, and Keyla Richardson—had the chance to perform with professional dancers from Dancing With The Stars and team up in duets with renowned alumni from American Idol Season 5, marking the show’s 20th anniversary. The featured dancers included Gleb Savchenko, Jan Ravnik, Rylee Arnold, and Witney Carson. Duets paired Braden with Paris Bennett, Chris with Bucky Covington, Hannah with Kellie Pickler, Jordan with Elliott Yamin, and Keyla with Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks.
Following America’s Vote, Hannah, Jordan, and Keyla secured their spots in the Top 3, advancing to the finale for a shot at the coveted title of the next American Idol, while Braden and Chris were eliminated. The Top 3 will also partake in the heartwarming tradition of hometown visits. Alongside their anticipated performances, the finale will host appearances by several music superstars on the American Idol stage.
After America’s Vote, Hannah, Jordan, and Keyla made it to the Top 3 and advanced to the finale to compete to become the next American Idol, while the show said goodbye to Braden and Chris. The Top 3 will also experience the traditional triumphant hometown visits. In addition to the performances from the Top 3 finalists, some music superstars will take to the American Idol stage during the finale.
Alicia Keys Will Serve As The American Idol Finale Mentor & Perform
During the May 4 episode of American Idol, Ryan announced that the finale mentor will be music legend Alicia Keys. Alicia has won 17 Grammy Awards and been nominated for 32. The diamond-certified singer is one of the world’s best-selling music artists with over 90 million records sold. Not only will Alicia guide the final three contestants, Hannah, Jordan, and Keyla, as they compete to become the next American Idol, but she’ll also perform during the finale.
The American Idol Judges Will Perform
A beloved American Idol tradition is when the judges take the stage during the finale, performing with the finalists who they discovered and watched grow throughout the competition. The American Idol season 24 finale will feature performances from Lionel, Carrie, and Luke.
Music Superstars Will Take The American Idol Stage During The Finale
The American Idol finale has always featured music superstars performing with the contestants during the finale. In addition to Alicia, Lionel, Carrie, and Luke, several other artists will sing. They include Brad Paisley, Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms, Cameron Whitcomb, Clay Aiken, En Vogue, Jason Mraz, Lee Ann Womack, Mötley Crüe, Nelly, Shinedown, and Tori Kelly.
Cameron, Clay, and Tori are all American Idol alums, who’ll be returning to the stage. Cameron made it to the Top 20 of American Idol season 20, while Tori advanced to the Hollywood Round of season 9 before being eliminated. Clay was the runner-up of American Idol season 2, placing second to winner Ruben Studdard.
The American Idol finale has always been a thrilling night of music, celebrating the season and crowning the winner. Hannah, Jordan, and Keyla are three of the best singers in the show’s history, so it’s going to be very challenging for America to choose a winner. No matter who wins, all three of them are certain to have successful music careers in the future. With all of the music superstars appearing on the show for the finale, American Idol season 24 will have an epic conclusion.
