Who is Juan Miranda Jara ?
Juan Miranda-Jara allegedly admitted to getting a 12-year-old girl pregnant after taking her to an Oklahoma hospital to deliver the baby.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, he was arrested on July 14 after the girl went into labor. He took her to a local hospital to deliver the baby.

Miranda-Jara told officers that he has been “in a relationship” with the pregnant girl since October, police said in a press release.
The age of consent in Oklahoma is 16 years old.
“They came like any other couple would like to give birth to their newborn child,” Officer Danny Bean told FOX23.
According to the outlet, investigators believe that Miranda-Jara expected to go home with the girl and the newborn baby as if he had not done anything illegal. While the relationship between Miranda-Jara and the girl is unclear, Bean said police “do not believe this is incest at this time.”
“We don’t get these kinds of calls every day,” Bean said. “It certainly came as a surprise to everyone involved.”
A police investigation is underway.
Arrested
He has been arrested and charged with first degree rape after he allegedly impregnated a 12-year-old girl.
During an arraignment Tuesday, a public defender appointed for Miranda-Jara pleaded not guilty on his behalf, online records show. A preliminary hearing was set for August 26.
Miranda-Jara is currently being held on a $ 50,000 bond.
The attorney’s information was not available Wednesday.
The girl’s mother is arrested
Desiree Castañeda is the girl’s mother. She was arrested and charged with child neglect after her 12-year-old daughter gave birth to a 24-year-old man.
Castañeda was also taken into custody Thursday on a charge of allowing child s*xual abuse, according to the Tulsa Police Department and jail records online.
