Exclusive: ‘Battle on the Beach’ Season 5 Promises Intense Psychological Drama and Thrilling Moments

Get ready for another intense coastal clash on HGTV with the return of a popular series.

The fifth season of Battle on the Beach is set to debut on June 1, bringing a wave of excitement with new mentors and unexpected twists to the competition.

“There are so many standout moments this season,” shared Sarah Baeumler from Renovation Island in an interview with Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “There are numerous changes this time around. I feel like they’ve shuffled things up in multiple ways, and that’s definitely going to keep the audience engaged.”

Sarah Baeumler goes from ‘Battle on the Beach’ judge to mentor

Baeumler is no stranger to Battle on the Beach. She previously participated as a judge on the show, which pits teams of designers against each other to craft the ultimate seaside vacation rental. This season, the judging panel welcomes Renovation Aloha‘s Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama as they take over the critique duties.

“I didn’t know what to expect at first,” Baeumler admitted. “Judging is… well, it’s certainly easier. Critiquing a space is far less challenging than being involved in the creation process. However, it’s not as fulfilling. I must say that acting as a mentor was one of the most gratifying experiences I’ve had.”

Baeumler is joined by Battle on the Beach newbie Mika Kleinschmidt and returning mentor Ty Pennington for the new season, which is set on South Carolina’s Grand Strand.

“I’m not new to a competition show, but I’m definitely new to the role that I had in this particular show,” Kleinschmidt said. “And like Sarah said, it was very rewarding. We didn’t really know much about the teams until day one when we were really in it. So there was a nervousness leading up to that. I know Ty and Sarah, so I was like, OK, I got my crew, but then what the heck did the houses look like? Who am I working with? All of that was very scary leading up to it, but it was just a learning experience.”

Ty Pennington turned to his mom for help mentoring his team

Discovering the best way to work with their teams of skilled DIYers was one challenge for all three mentors. Kleinschmidt’s team is a married couple, Anna and Josiah Julian, and she was able to draw on her own experience as one half of a husband-and-wife reno team.

“I definitely could empathize because I work with my husband, Brian, and I know how that dynamic works,” she said.

Baeumler, meanwhile, had to “learn the hard way” when to step back and when to offer her team, married couple Steven and Angelina Jacobs, constructive advice.

“I sort of took the approach, maybe like a parent, that part of me came out. Like, ‘OK, I have to let my kids make their own mistakes,’” she shared. “I have to let them figure out things on their own and really come to terms to bring their vision to life. But there’s also a role there as a mentor where you have to know when you should step in, when you need to speak up and sort of say, ‘OK, have you thought about this in a different way?’”

In the Battle on the Beach premiere, Pennington faces a difficult situation when one member of his mother-daughter team has a bit of a meltdown over differing design visions. He turned to his mom, who is a family therapist, for advice on how to handle things with Michelle Mueller and Sydney Lorence.

“I actually had to call her and be like, ‘I think I’ve got someone who’s got a real confidence issue,’” he said. “And it stemmed from the fact that her mom is an incredible DIYer … so living in the shadow of that, I think was giving one of my teammates a bit of a psychological sort of drama because she invited her mom to be part of it, not vice versa. So it was interesting because you’re battling confidence, you’re battling egos.”

Partner-swap twist adds excitement to ‘Battle on the Beach’ Season 5

Doing massive home renovations on a short-time frame is always going to be stressful. And this season of Battle on the Beach spices things up with some additionals twists and challenges. One is a “scavenger hunt sort of a thing,” Pennington teased, where the team had to find unwanted items to use in their renovations.

“It was just so awesome to have that sort of competition because I think some things that people discard can really be a treasure,” he said.

Another unexpected challenge? A partner-swap.

“They basically had to work on a space with somebody from the other team,” Kleinschmidt shared. “I mean, even us as mentors, we were like, ‘What’s happening? Wait, what’s going on?’”

For Pennington’s team, temporarily switching partners was a game-changer.

“It was really crucial because for the first time the daughter could work with somebody else besides her mom,” he said. “And that [was a] completely different relationship and I was like, ‘Oh my God, maybe this is even better’ … That is definitely one of those cool new twists that was very fun.”

Battle on the Beach premieres Monday, June 1, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV. Episodes also stream on HBO Max.

DCLM Daily Manna 1 June 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Ministering Through Writing

TOPIC: Ministering Through Writing (DCLM Daily Manna 1 June 2026)

KEY VERSE: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ – 1 Corinthians 1:3

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 1:1-3 (KJV)

1 Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their’s and our’s:

3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

In professional letter writing, introductory remarks make a profound statement. They serve as a window into the soul of the writer while establishing a hint of the relationship between him and the reader. You would, therefore, not be expected to go too far into the correspondence before correctly identifying the personalities at work.

The figures in our text are two church leaders. One of them, the beloved Apostle Paul and the other a Greek believer, Sosthenes. The writing was to the church in Corinth, the assembly the Lord used Paul to establish in his 18-month stay there. The writers are messengers of Christ checking on fellow saints. They are kindred spirits, brought together by Christ from different nationalities and sociocultural backgrounds. Paul is moved by this bond to shower anointed benediction on the Corinthians.

Similarly, in the absence of physical contact caused by long distances, church leaders can write to their members to put them in remembrance of the abiding teachings in the Bible. It could be an opportunity to caution them against straying on dangerous paths. It could also serve as a means of praying for them just as Paul did as a loving leader.

Oral ministration can be complemented with literatures for edification. The Church today has better and more efficient means of reaching the unsaved and establishing the members. Technology has made the world a global community and millions can be reached in seconds through spoken and written messages of salvation. Believers should maximise the use of these avenues of winning souls and building up the body of Christ.

Desperate Plea: MAGA News Anchor Urges Trump to Address Soaring Cost of Living Crisis

0

In a surprising move, a prominent television supporter of President Donald Trump has voiced a striking criticism, cautioning that many of his backers are struggling financially. This unexpected on-air critique came from Batya Ungar-Sargon, a host for NewsNation, who directly addressed the president with a heartfelt plea for help.

“Mr. President, your supporters are hurting,” Ungar-Sargon declared, urging Trump to take action to alleviate the financial burdens faced by many American households. Known for her staunch support and frequent defense of the president’s policies, Ungar-Sargon’s Saturday night broadcast took a different tone as she relayed the economic hardships experienced by those who have consistently stood by Trump.

Ungar-Sargon vividly described the grim realities faced by working-class Americans who have remained steadfast in their loyalty to Trump across multiple election cycles. “People who voted for you three times, who would endure walking over Legos on hot coals just to vote for you, are now broke,” she stated, highlighting the severe measures some are taking, such as skipping meals or purchasing canned chicken in bulk due to financial constraints.

This direct message to the White House from a usually supportive media personality underscores the growing concern about the economic struggles affecting many of Trump’s supporters, pushing for urgent intervention to address these pressing issues.

‘People who voted for you three times who would walk over Legos covered in hot coals to vote for you are broke, skipping meals, others are buying canned chicken in bulk because that’s all they can afford,’ she said.

‘The cost of food and gas is just so high.’

The striking appeal comes as Trump faces mounting scrutiny over inflation, rising fuel prices and growing voter frustration with the economy nearly a year and a half into his second term.

Ungar-Sargon said families are increasingly being forced to make painful choices as everyday expenses consume larger portions of household budgets.

‘People are finding it impossible to pay for their kids after-school sports once they fill up the car with gas,’ she said.

The host noted that many Trump supporters had accepted the possibility of higher prices if it meant achieving broader policy goals, including tariffs and the administration’s hardline approach toward Iran.

‘People who support you and support the war in Iran who were willing to pay a little more to make sure our grandkids don’t have to live with the threat of a nuclear armed terrorist state, who were willing to pay a little more for the possibility of reassuring our great manufacturing base with tariffs, well, they’ve paid all they can,’ she said.

Ungar-Sargon said she was hearing both anger and resignation from voters who believed Trump would lower costs after returning to office.

‘Some expressing anger and frustration they feel that they voted for you to bring down the cost. Others are just quietly skipping meals,’ she explained.

She pushed back against suggestions that concerns about the economy are merely a matter of public perception.

‘Contrary to what some in your administration keep saying it’s not just vibes – inflation is eating up wage growth and then some.’

The NewsNation host cited a string of troubling economic indicators, noting that gasoline prices were hovering around $4.50 per gallon heading into the summer travel season while wholesale inflation had climbed to six percent.

Earlier this month, Trump created a firestorm when he said financial struggles are not a factor in his decision-making as he seeks to negotiate an end to the Iran war

She also pointed to dwindling household savings and rising credit card stress.

‘Savings are at an all-time low, 13% of credit card balances are now over 90 days delinquent – the highest since 2011,’ she said.

Ungar-Sargon acknowledged Trump’s frequent boasts about stock market gains but argued that many ordinary Americans are not seeing the benefits.

‘You keep saying that the stock market is doing great and that is true but the gains of the economy and nearly all consumer spending are concentrated in the top 10% – everyone else is broke.’

She concluded with a direct request for relief, suggesting that some of the administration’s tariff revenue could be redirected to struggling households.

‘Your supporters need help Mr President and they need it from you,’ she said.

‘We brought in $200 billion in tariff revenue – couldn’t some of that be shared with Americans struggling to put food on the table?’

The appeal was particularly notable because Ungar-Sargon has been one of Trump’s most enthusiastic media defenders.

She has repeatedly praised the president throughout his second term, previously describing him as ‘the most effective president of my lifetime’ and earning attention for her glowing assessments of his leadership.

Her comments also come over weeks after the president sparked controversy when he said he does not focus on Americans’ financial struggles when making decisions related to Iran.

‘I don’t think about anybody. I think about one thing – we cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. That’s all,’ Trump told reporters when asked whether he considers the economic pain facing Americans on May 15.

Earlier in. May, Trump doubled down on his claim that he 'doesn't think about' Americans' financial situation but promised that there will only be 'short-term pain' on inflation

The remarks generated criticism from opponents and concern among some Republicans already grappling with voter anxiety over inflation.

The Labor Department reported that wholesale inflation accelerated to 6% in April, while consumer prices remained elevated, placing renewed pressure on Republicans seeking to defend their congressional majorities ahead of November’s midterms.

Trump later defended his remarks during an interview with Fox News host Bret Baier, insisting he stood by what he said.

‘That’s a perfect statement, I’d make it again,’ Trump said. ‘It’s very simple. When people hear me say it, everybody agrees, short-term pain. It’s gonna be short-term pain.’

Rhapsody Of Realities 1 June 2026: Understanding True Righteousness

Rhapsody Of Realities 1 June 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): Understanding True Righteousness

TOPIC: Understanding True Righteousness (Rhapsody of Realities 1 June 2026)

But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify (Romans 3:21 NIV).

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

Righteousness is a word many use without a proper understanding of what it means. The world can’t define righteousness; it must be understood from God’s perspective. How can a man who isn’t righteous describe righteousness? It’s impossible to define what you’ve never known or experienced.

For many, righteousness is reduced to moral uprightness, often an exaggerated view of personal conduct. Some consider themselves righteous in their work; others in their families or communities. But these are human attempts to define something divine.

The Scriptures tell us something important about man’s righteousness and the different kinds of righteousness that exist in the world: they’re as filthy rags: “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away” (Isaiah 64:6).

That means every form of righteousness that originates from man, every standard built on human effort, and every confidence grounded in personal conduct falls short before God. No matter how morally upright one may appear, it doesn’t make him righteous before God. What then is righteousness? How does a man become righteous before God?

Romans 3:21 (NIV) gives us an idea; it says, “But now apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been made known….” This shows that there’s a righteousness from God and it isn’t based on performance or adherence to the Law. It’s something divine; it comes from God Himself.

Romans 5:17 declares: “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” The righteousness from God, therefore, is a gift. It’s not achieved; it’s received.

This changes everything. You don’t try to be righteous before God; you receive His gift of righteousness. It’s not about your efforts; it’s about what He has made available in Christ. This is the righteousness that qualifies you, empowers you, and brings you into right standing with God. We’ll explore this some more in our next study.

CONFESSION

I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Righteousness is my nature. I walk in the consciousness of my right standing, free from guilt, condemnation, and inferiority. I reign in life through Christ, expressing His nature and fulfilling His will in Jesus’ Name. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY

Romans 3:25-26 (NIV)
God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— [26] he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Romans 10:1-3 (KJV)
Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. [2] For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. [3] For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

McClanahan and Aranda Propel Rays to a 5-2 Triumph Against Angels

In St. Petersburg, Florida, the Tampa Bay Rays secured a 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday, with Shane McClanahan delivering an impressive pitching performance. Over five innings, McClanahan allowed just one run, scattered four hits, struck out three batters, and issued no walks, improving his season record to 6-2.

The game commenced with a strong start for the Rays as Jonathan Aranda launched a solo homer in the first inning. The Angels responded in the second inning when Jose Siri singled with two outs. He advanced to third on Logan O’Hoppe’s double and later scored on a wild pitch by McClanahan, leveling the score at 1-1.

The Rays reclaimed the lead in the third inning. Aranda and Richie Palacios drew back-to-back walks to start the inning, and Junior Camerino followed with a single to load the bases. Victor Mesa Jr. then stepped up with an RBI single, and Cedric Mullins drew a walk to bring in another run, putting the Rays ahead 3-1.

Despite a solo home run from O’Hoppe in the seventh inning that trimmed the Angels’ deficit to one, Tampa Bay’s bullpen held firm. Bryan Baker closed the game with a scoreless ninth inning, earning his 16th save of the season in 19 opportunities.

O’Hoppe hit a solo homer in the seventh that pulled LA within a run.

Pinch-hitter Ben Williamson singled to drive in a run in the bottom of the inning and stole second base. Taylor Walls walked to load the bases and Yandy Díaz drew an eight-pitch walk that scored Chandler Simpson and made it 5-2.

Camerino and Walls had two hits apiece for the Rays.

Jack Kochanowicz (2-4) allowed three runs and five hits and walked four in 2 1/3 innings.

Freshman Tragically Murdered in Dorm Room as Perpetrator Strikes Again with Disturbing Motive

Gallaudet University, known as the world’s only institution offering bilingual education in American Sign Language, has long fostered an inclusive environment for its deaf and hard-of-hearing student body.

However, the tranquil atmosphere of this close-knit community was shattered on September 28, 2000. On that day, freshman Eric Plunkett was discovered brutally beaten and strangled in his dormitory. The subsequent murder of another student, Benjamin Varner, not long after, intensified the fear among students, as it became alarmingly evident that a murderer lurked among them, as detailed in Oxygen’s The Killer Among Us.

Hailing from Burnsville, Minnesota, Eric Plunkett was enthusiastic about embarking on his new journey at Gallaudet University in the autumn of 2000.

Despite being born with cerebral palsy, which sometimes affected his balance, and experiencing significant hearing loss, these obstacles never deterred him.

“You would never notice it,” his sister Erin Plunkett reminisced. “He exuded confidence constantly. It was just who he was. He had a wide circle of friends. His curiosity was boundless—he loved dismantling things just to understand their workings.”

“You would never know it,” his sister Erin Plunkett recalled. “He was so confident all the time. It was just his personality. He had a ton of friends. He was inquisitive, you know, he liked to take things apart just to see how they were made.”

It didn’t take long for Plunkett—who fellow students described as friendly and easygoing—to fit right in at the university.

“It’s like a small island,” former student and resident advisor Lauren Buchko explained, “where deaf people can be like a family.”

What Happened to Eric Plunkett?

Instead of starting the promising new chapter he’d hoped for, Plunkett’s time at the university tragically became his last.

On September 28, 2000, Joseph Mesa Jr.—who lived directly across from Plunkett—asked Buchko to do a welfare check after he noticed a “funny” smell coming from the teenager’s dorm room and had been unable to reach him.

She enlisted the help of fellow resident advisor Thomas Koch, who opened Plunkett’s dorm room and made a grisly discovery.

“I opened the door and wow, definitely did not expect what I saw,” Koch recalled. “I just couldn’t believe how much blood was [there]. I went straight for his body to check for a pulse and then ran out of the room.”

The room was in disarray and blood was spattered all over the scene, according to Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Det. Darryl Richmond.

“There was a struggle,” he said. “It was an up close murder.”

Eric Plunkett Was Beaten and Strangled to Death

An autopsy would later suggest that Plunkett had been hit with a chair, kicked, beaten and strangled to death.

“There is overkill involved,” Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Sgt. James LaFranchise noted. “I mean, there was blood everywhere. An overkill is usually someone who knows the person.”

Investigators also noticed that Plunkett’s wallet and debit cards had been taken. Though there were no signs of forced entry, investigators believed the killer had tried to cover their tracks by closing and locking the door.

During the investigation, detectives also learned that while at college, Plunkett came out as gay.

“It didn’t surprise any of us,” his sister remembered. “He was having a lot of fun. We heard that he made so many great relationships on campus. We didn’t know who could possibly have killed him.”

Now detectives had to consider the possibility that that he was killed in a possible hate crime after learning that Plunkett had lodged a complaint about anti-gay slurs found on campus message boards just before his death.

Detectives also considered the possibility that he was killed as the result of a possible romantic dispute. They even arrested a man who told police he’d shoved Plunkett when he tried to make a pass at him, but the charges were eventually dismissed due to a lack of probable cause. The male student’s DNA also later ruled him out as the killer.

What Happened to Benjamin Varner?

Then, on Feb. 3, 2001 the body of Benjamin Varner was discovered in the same dorm building where Plunkett was killed.

His body, which had been hidden under a mattress, was covered with stab wounds to his head, neck and stomach.

“There was blood on the wall, blood on the floor,” Richmond said. “It was a gruesome scene.”

Just like in the earlier case, Varner’s wallet, credit cards and checkbook were missing, leading investigators to believe the two cases could be connected.

Plunkett’s neighbor Mesa—who also knew Varner—told investigators that shortly before the murder Varner told him he was gay and had been secretly seeing someone.

Bloody Knife, Jacket Are Found in Dumpster Near Benjamin Varner’s Dorm

As fear and anger spread through the university, detectives faced increasing pressure to solve the murders and focused on footprints found leading away from the murder scene to a stairwell.

Though the perpetrator avoided all the surveillance cameras, detectives discovered a blood-covered paring knife believed to be from Varner’s room in a dumpster outside the building, along with a bloody jacket.

Using an FBI database, they determined the shoe prints at the scene were left by Nike Air shoes.

Then, Varner’s heartbroken family discovered that someone had cashed a check for $650 within 28 hours of his death. After subpoenaing the bank, detectives linked the check to Mesa, a football player from Guam who spent most of his time with his girlfriend.

Although Mesa claimed the check had been for computer repair work, detectives questioned his story, especially after realizing that he had inserted himself into the investigation each time.

His roommate also told police that he had owned a jacket just like the one discovered in the dumpster.

Why Did Joseph Mesa Kill Benjamin Varner and Eric Plunkett?

As investigators were working to build their case, they were surprised when Mesa returned to the station on Feb. 13, 2001 and confessed to killing Varner with a knife he found under the microwave, then writing himself the check.

When asked what he needed the money for, Mesa offered a chilling response.

“My girlfriend loves purple, so I bought a purple mouse, and then [a] purple mousepad,” he told detectives through an interpreter. “And then I have the TV that would be purple, and then there’s a plastic plate, purple, the cup that was purple.”

Stunned, detectives asked Mesa if he had anything else on his conscience.

“Also, Eric Plunkett,” Mesa replied. “I also did that one, too.”

He described going into Plunkett’s room while he was sitting at the computer, putting his arm around his neck and strangling him. Then, he used the chair to hit him in the face.

After calling the murders a “big mistake,” Mesa said he decided to confess to the crimes so that the college community could stop living in fear.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of murder. Mesa was convicted in 2002 and sentenced to two life sentences without the possibility of parole.

Euphoria Season 3 Finale: Unraveling Rue’s Fate – Does Zendaya’s Character Survive?

0

Warning: Spoilers ahead! If you haven’t watched the eighth episode of “Euphoria” Season 3, proceed with caution.

What started as a series exploring the challenges faced by high school students has transformed into an intense crime saga in its third season, culminating in the shocking demise of Nate Jacobs, played by Jacob Elordi.

The pressing question remains: Did Zendaya’s character, Rue, survive the season?

Midway through the extended 93-minute episode, Rue succumbs to a drug overdose, marking a pivotal and heartbreaking moment.

The devastating scene unfolds when Rue, in a moment of desperation, takes a bottle of pills from her employer, the notorious drug lord Alamo, portrayed by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and tragically overdoses on fentanyl.

Her mentor, Ali (Colman Domingo) finds her dead on his couch.

Before that, Rue goes down memory lane, recalling standing in a field with Fez (Angus Cloud, who tragically died in real life in 2023 of an overdose). Cloud is shown onscreen with Zendaya, in what’s clearly archival footage taken before his death. They stand in a field with their arms around each other.

Rue then has an extended dream sequence where she goes back to her childhood home and visits her mom, Leslie (Nika King) who is reading the Bible.

The camera cuts to a distraught Ali trying to wake Rue up on his couch, and finding her unresponsive.

An unspecified number of months later, Ali to one of his support group meetings, as he talks about right from wrong, and says this will be his last meeting, because he will find another way to be “of service.”

Jules (Hunter Schafer) is shown crying while finishing a painting of Rue. It’s Jules’ only appearance in the episode.

Rue’s friend, Lexi (Maude Apatow) tells Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) that Rue left behind her Bible, and she ended up reading it after Rue’s death. It’s unclear how much time has passed, but it’s been at least a month. Lexi admits that she has “a lot of guilt about how I left things,” with Rue.

She says she learned from the Bible “bad things happen, so why have anxiety about it? No matter what, you have to just keep going.” She adds that she thinks that’s the “point” of it.

Ali later goes on a revenge mission for Rue. He puts on his old military uniform, goes to Alamo’s strip club, and starts shooting. The two men have a stand-off that ends with Ali fatally shooting Alamo.

The episode ends with Ali visiting the “homestead,” the religious family whose lifestyle impressed Rue at the beginning of Season 3. He calls Rue his “daughter” and says he wanted to come, because she remembered it as the most peaceful place they ever visited. The family and Ali say a prayer over Rue, and Zendaya’s voice says, “May God bless us all.”

The show first premiered in 2019, and in the first two seasons, Rue was a teenage drug addict. She overdosed several times, got indebted to shady dealers like Laurie (Martha Kelly), had a toxic romance with Jules, and engaged in a lot of self-destructive behavior.

The role won Zendaya two Emmys, and helped put her on the map.

At the end of the episode, footage is shown of Zendaya giving a speech thanking the crew, saying “many of you have been here since the beginning, and watched me grow up,” and calls it an “honor.”

The “Dune” star, 28, was already famous after a Disney Channel career, but “Euphoria” positioned her for the more adult roles she’s taken on in recent years, like “The Drama.” The show didn’t launch her, but it did heavily contribute to her current superstar status.

Rue never had much in the way of self-preservation instincts, but Season 3 tossed that out the window even further.

In Season 3, after a five-year time jump, Rue was working off her debt to Laurie by trafficking drugs, along with her friend Faye (Chloe Cherry). She got out of it by jumping to work for the strip club kingpin, Alamo – but that didn’t turn out so well for her, either.

Rue initially had fun working for Alamo and his henchmen, which included Bishop (Darrell Britt Gibson) and G (Marshawn Lynch). She managed his strip club, and had a fling with the stripper Angel (Priscilla Delgado).

But, she got caught by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and forced to spy on Alamo and Laurie for them, so that they didn’t throw her in prison.

She also got disillusioned after noticing that strippers didn’t have a good time working in Alamo’s club. In general, Rue spent most of Season 3 in hot water.

After talking it over with her sponsor, Ali (Colman Domingo), Rue turned to the Bible to try to find redemption. At the beginning of Season 3, during her time trafficking drugs, she also got intrigued by the “homestead” that she briefly stayed in. They were a religious family living a simple farm life.

She also unwisely told her friend Lexi (Maude Apatow) about working for the DEA. Lexi told Maddy (Alexa Demie), who spilled the beans to Alamo.

In the end, however, Rue didn’t die from the gang war. She died of an overdose.

Now, at least, Rue’s chaotic story is over, and it has a grim ending.

In March, “The Drama” actress told Variety that filming Season 3 was a “whirlwind,” and said, “I did what I do in eight months in like four months.”

In April, Akinnuoye-Agbaje exclusively told Page Six that Zendaya was “generous” and “very intelligent.”

He praised the actress for not being “precious” with the material.

“She can turn it on and off,” he said. “When we have to chuck mud in her face, she’s saying, ‘Chuck the mud in my face!’ That’s what you want with your scene partner – somebody who is prepared to be committed to the scene.”

Zendaya is already moving on to a big year, as she’s got roles coming up in several blockbusters, including “Dune: Part III” and Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey.”

HBO has not officially confirmed whether this episode is the series finale. It’s listed as “season finale.”

In April, Levinson told Variety that he has “no plans” for a Season 4.

Zendaya also said on “The Drew Barrymore Show” that she thinks Season 3 is the end, and that it has “closure.”

Historic Farm Revitalized by Innovative Jonesborough Horse Trainer

After an extensive seven-year quest to find the ideal location for her equestrian venture, 25-year-old horse trainer Dalilah Burke has finally brought her vision to life in Jonesborough, Tennessee. Burke’s lifelong passion for horses began at the tender age of six, and that enduring love has now culminated in her leasing Shepherd Springs Farm, a historic property along Highway 81.

The farm offers an ideal setting where Burke can nurture her dream of providing equestrian training and education while fostering a community spirit. This opportunity came earlier this year when the farm’s owners, an elderly couple, sought someone to revive the cherished land.

“I connected with the Bouchards around late February or early March,” Burke shared. “They were eager to find someone to take the reins of their farm. Being an older couple, they wanted to see life return to the property, especially with children and horses filling the space once more.”

The farm, with roots tracing back to 1871, had been patiently waiting for someone with a vision like Burke’s to rejuvenate it. For her, discovering Shepherd Springs Farm was the culmination of a long-held dream, offering the perfect canvas for her equestrian aspirations.

The farm, which dates back to 1871, had been waiting for someone with a vision to bring it back to life. For Burke, it was exactly what she had been searching for.

“She was pretty open about that it needed work,” Burke said. “That it was going to need an arena, it was going to need a completely clean slate and take it in any direction you wanted. And that’s what I was looking for. That’s what I wanted. I wanted to be able to make it my own.”

Over the past two months, Burke has transformed the property. Working largely on her own, she has renovated the historic barn, constructing horse stalls, a feed room, a tack room and a covered viewing area.

Burke has also developed a fully operational riding arena.

Currently, Burke cares for four horses at Shepherd Springs Farm and plans to add two more this summer as her business continues to grow. While the farm serves as the foundation for her equestrian business, Burke said her mission extends far beyond horse training.

She hopes the facility becomes a place where children and adults can connect with agriculture and pursue lifelong dreams.

“It is about benefiting the community,” Burke said. “It’s about benefiting our children and the children that are growing up. And they’re wanting to get into agriculture. They’re wanting to get into horses and cattle and all these things, and even our adults that are wanting to step into it and say ‘Hey I want to try this. I’ve wanted to try this since I was a kid.’ I get to be a part of that story and I love that.”

Burke’s long-term goal is to purchase Shepherd Springs Farm, ensuring the historic property remains a home for horses, education, and community engagement for years to come.

“I’ve wanted to try this since I was a kid,” Burke said. “Getting to just watch it transform from day to day, its just been a wonderful road that is not stopping anytime soon. I can’t wait for everybody to see what we have and what we’re building and how much we’re going to make sure this stays what it is. I love it here.”
