Heartfelt Tribute: Honoring the Life of a Beloved Cairns Woman Tragically Struck by Police Vehicle

0

Boksoon Kwon, a beloved mother and dedicated learner, is fondly remembered for her warmth and wisdom. Residing with her son while pursuing new skills at TAFE, Kwon’s presence touched many lives.

While attending English and arts classes at Cairns TAFE, she formed a close friendship with fellow student Jiraporn Janluang. “She was a very wise woman, very clever,” Janluang recalled. “She never spoke ill of anyone, and I never saw her with a grumpy face. She was always very warm. That’s what I remember; she was a loveable person.”

Tragically, the 71-year-old’s life was cut short when she was struck and killed by a police Landcruiser in Cairns North yesterday morning. Her loss is deeply felt by those who knew her.

“She never say about anybody bad, never ever see her face grumpy, she always very warm. That’s what I can tell, she’s a loveable person.”

The 71-year-old was hit and killed by a police Landcruiser in Cairns North yesterday morning.

She was crossing the road on a green signal. At the same time officers drove through an intersection to arrest a wanted person.

“I text her phone number and said I heard some news and an accident and someone named Boksoon, then her son replied and said it was her,” Janluang said.

“And I felt like, ‘oh God, this, this … it can’t be’.

“She shouldn’t end up like this.”

Kwon’s son was too distressed to speak on camera today as the police investigation into the officers’ actions continues.

Saddle Up for Drama: Episode 3 Recap of Dutton Ranch Unveiled!

When Rip Wheeler promises Beth Dutton he’s never lied to her and never will, we believe him. However, it’s only a matter of time before he confesses about moving a body from a shallow grave on their property to an abandoned mineshaft, much like a South Texas Train Station annex. That revelation isn’t happening today, though. In Episode 3 of Dutton Ranch, titled “Act of God Business,” Beth wakes to find Rip already up. He simply tells her he rose early. This moment highlights the couple’s enduring connection, effortlessly portrayed by Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly. Beth has a meeting in Dallas, but Rip playfully suggests a ride together, which she eagerly accepts. For now, they set aside troubles to enjoy a ride, taking pride in their herd.

DUTTON RANCH EP3 [Rip w/ Beth, kiss] “You got time for a ride?”

In the nearby town of Rio Paloma, Buelah Jackson delivers a eulogy for a former lawman at the Methodist chapel, painting the place as one of outlaws and rustlers with her folksy recollections. Meanwhile, new Sheriff Handy Wade watches from the pews, later cautioning Buelah about the situation at her bunkhouse. Her response is a mix of charm and threat as she gently reminds him of her financial support during his election campaign.

Buelah seems to embody the town’s outlaw legacy, and without a mayor in sight, it appears she’s calling the shots. Meanwhile, the Dutton Ranch remains focused on preserving the quality of their herd. However, their efforts are constantly challenged by unforeseen obstacles, including a metaphorical “grizzly in Gucci.”

In Dallas, Beth visits a high-end steakhouse, carrying a cooler filled with premium, marbled steaks prepared by Claudio the butcher. These cuts symbolize the superior beef she and Rip are raising, showcasing cattle genetics refined over generations in Texas’s Winter Garden region. The restaurant manager is impressed by both the quality and Beth’s ranch-to-table pitch, showing a keen awareness of her family’s ranching legacy. Notably, he’s the first in the series to directly mention the Yellowstone Ranch.

DUTTON RANCH EP3 Oreana takes off her dress in Carter’s room

Meanwhile, Carter continues to skip school, drawn further into the complexities of his relationship with Oreana, a member of the town’s most powerful family. Despite her tumultuous interactions with Hoyt, the arrogant steer rider, Carter is captivated. “Why date someone you hate so much?” he inquires after another of her episodes. Oreana simply smiles, teasingly replying, “Why don’t you save me?”

Back at the ranch, in Carter’s room, Oreana gets more comfortable. But she leaves her cowboy boots on, and pulls a sack of weed from one of them. They get close on Carter’s bed, kiss, and when it’s quiet, it’s clear she respects he’d even ask about her well-being. She acts out with purpose, loves being a junior local outlaw, ‘cause it gets under Grandma Buelah’s skin. But when there’s no one around to perform for, she feels safe and content with Carter. “He might be a keeper,” Oreana says out loud to herself. Carter’s on the way to having a girlfriend who has a boyfriend who has a domineering grandmother willing to destroy the Duttons or whoever. Good luck, buddy!

Veterinarian Everett McKinney is out at the ranch examining the steer Rip had to put down with his rifle. Foaming at the mouth, bloody hooves – it’s a dangerous case of foot-and-mouth disease, with the potential to rip through their entire herd. Rip, Everett, Azul, and Zachariah separate the animals and observe them in a new pasture overnight. This is serious, Rip is pissed – “There hasn’t been a case of FMD in decades” – and he is suspicious of how it just  happened to show up here. While Everett mentions factors like anti-vaxxers, the proximity of the border, and general varmint activity, Rip looks at the steer he and Beth purchased at auction in Episode 2. “Or a new fucking bull.” Did someone plant a poisoned animal as a way to kill their livelihood?

This episode of Dutton Ranch also delves into why Zachariah Moss was doing time in the first place. A distraught woman drives onto the property waving a gun around, the mother of a local girl with whom Past Zachariah was in a secret relationship. It was an accident, those many years ago, but he was drunk, and she died. Zach sees the woman’s pistol and just kneels. (“I’m ready.”) But Rip takes charge. He disarms her, and gently but firmly explains how vengeance can only be more of a problem. And he considers his taciturn new hand, the cowboy who found God in prison. “Zachariah, your prayers better not be for show or I’ll shoot you myself.” We believe that about Rip, too.

DUTTON RANCH EP3 [Beth] “I handle difficult.”

The Beth Parts for Episode 3 of Dutton Ranch (“Act of God Business”):

  • And what’s this? After the funeral service, Buelah shares a few kind words with Everett. Makes sense; we know they both grew up in town. But Everett grows cold and distant when she says “I’ve missed you” more softly, and straightens his bolo tie.
  • And while she’s there Beth also has a “Yes, Chef!” moment. Understanding they are overworked and underpaid, Beth offers to fund a full dinner service tip-out for the Stillwell’s chef and her staff, in exchange for one perfectly-prepared Dutton Black Angus steak. Kelly Reilly should do a crossover cameo on The Bear as Beth Dutton, stepping in to run a Chicago restaurant. She’d probably bring her “Don’t be a shitass” Igloo cooler with her.

Grady Judd Warns Parents of TikTok Teen Takeovers: Legal Consequences Loom for Negligence

0

The recent “teen takeover” phenomenon has grabbed the attention of Sheriff Grady Judd, who is determined to ensure that parents are held responsible for their children’s disruptive behavior. This commitment was made clear in a video shared on social media, where the Florida sheriff addressed the concerning trend.

“There’s a new TikTok fad,” Sheriff Judd explained, emphasizing the problematic behavior associated with it, such as causing chaos in restaurants, meeting in large groups, and reckless driving. He firmly stated, “That kind of behavior won’t be tolerated in Polk County.”

DRAMATIC BODYCAM FOOTAGE SHOWS OFFICERS BREAKING UP TEEN ‘TAKEOVER’ AMID BUSINESS VANDALISM: ‘THEY COME TO FIGHT’

On Thursday, Sheriff Judd, alongside Polk County Schools Superintendent Fred Heid, revealed that since the school year commenced, 24 students have been detained for issuing written threats. This announcement was made through a video on the Polk County Schools YouTube channel.

Now Judd is raising the stakes and warning that he would hold parents of teenagers who take part in the social media videos accountable if necessary.

“Mama and Daddy, if you don’t hold them accountable, personally, make sure they are home when they need to be, then we’re gonna come lock you up too, or charge you civilly,” he said.

“But parents, hold your children accountable, so we don’t have to,” Sherriff Judd said. “We will hold them accountable if you make us, but then we’re going to hold you accountable, too. Think about that. Then have a good summer.”

Judd’s message comes as cities across the country are facing teen takeovers are causing chaos.

Polk County has a curfew in place for juveniles, which is for teens under 17. The curfew is 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and midnight to 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday. For 17-year-olds, it is midnight to 6 a.m. every day.

In nearby Hillsborough County, which is directly adjacent to Polk County, police announced that they had arrested 22 people between the ages of 12 and 21, as part of a teen takeover on May 8.

The Tampa Police Department immediately responded with patrol officers, bike units, and Air Service personnel to restore order and ensure the safety of the surrounding community.

“This type of reckless and criminal behavior will not be tolerated in our city,” Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said.

“What began as a large gathering quickly escalated into disorder and activity that placed others at risk. Parents need to know where their children are and who they are with. Unfortunately, the poor decisions made by these 22 individuals last night could have lasting consequences that follow them well into adulthood,” he said.

As a result of the operation, 22 were arrested on charges that included affray, possession of narcotics, resisting without violence, and unlawful possession of a weapon. Officers seized two firearms and one vehicle connected to the disturbance.

The growing crisis prompted the top federal prosecutor in the nation’s capital to call for more accountability over rehabilitation for youth crimes as her office focuses on enhancing enforcement and increasing staffing.

“Youth violence is on the rise — not just in D.C., but across the country. And if you think that these kids need to be coddled, and they need to be hugged — they need to have consequences, they need to understand that enough is enough, that we’re going to put them in jail or some kind of youth rehabilitation detention facility and not allow the D.C. Council — one of whom I just recently indicted — to take cover for these kids,” Pirro said.

“It’s time to end it. That’s what the president wants, that’s what we’re going to do.”

Breaking: Trump Administration Mandates Green Card Applicants to Apply from Home Countries – What It Means for Immigrants

0

On Friday, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) unveiled a significant change to immigration policy, affecting noncitizens currently in the United States who are seeking a green card or lawful permanent resident status. The new directive mandates that these individuals must exit the country indefinitely, even if they are legally present and have U.S. citizen spouses or children.

Under the updated policy, green card applicants will need to wait for their applications to be processed abroad through consular procedures managed by the U.S. Department of State.

USCIS clarified that “adjustment of status” within the U.S. will be granted only under extraordinary circumstances, evaluated individually.

The Trump administration supports this policy shift, asserting that noncitizens entering the U.S. on student, tourist, or temporary work visas should depart once their visa terms conclude, and that temporary residency should not lead directly to permanent residency.

Officials argue that this change aligns with the original legal intentions, although it is anticipated that the policy will face legal challenges and potential lawsuits.

“We’re returning to the original intent of the law to ensure aliens navigate our nation’s immigration system properly,” USCIS spokesperson Zach Kahler wrote in a statement. “From now on, an alien who is in the U.S. temporarily and wants a green card must return to their home country to apply, except in extraordinary circumstances. This policy allows our immigration system to function as the law intended instead of incentivizing loopholes.”

Kahler added that when noncitizens apply for a green card from their home country, it reduces the need to find and remove those who “decide to slip into the shadows” and remain in the U.S. illegally after being denied residency.

“Nonimmigrants, like students, temporary workers or people on tourist visas, come to the U.S. for a short time and for a specific purpose,” he said. “Our system is designed for them to leave when their visit is over. Their visit should not function as the first step in the green card process.

“Following the law allows the majority of these cases to be handled by the State Department at U.S. consular offices abroad and frees up limited USCIS resources to focus on processing other cases that fall under its purview, including visas for victims of violent crime and human trafficking, naturalization applications and other priorities,” Kahler added. “The law was written this way for a reason, and despite the fact that it has been ignored for years, following it will help make our system fairer and more efficient.”

Critics of the policy shift argue many overstays have U.S. citizen spouses or children, pay taxes and fill labor shortages and, if removed from the country, will face long processing delays and humanitarian concerns.

It is unclear if Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will begin deporting green card applicants.

Maye Musk, Elon Musk’s mother, took to X to react to the policy change.

“When I wanted to get my green card, I had to have numerous vaccinations, health tests and a lung x-ray,” Maye Musk wrote in a post. “Because I was Canadian, I had to fly to Montreal to have a lung x-ray again to confirm that it’s the same person. However, when the x-ray had to be delivered to me at my friend’s home, the delivery truck was stuck on a bridge because of thick ice. I had to stay an extra day. Nothing was easy. It took another five years before I could get citizenship. Worth it.”

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Janice Dickinson, 71, Unveils Remarkable Transformation Following Neck and Facelift Procedures

0

Janice Dickinson has embarked on one of her most dramatic transformations yet, leaving many in awe of the remarkable outcome.

The 71-year-old model, who suffered significant facial injuries while participating in a reality show in 2022, opted for a comprehensive facial renovation earlier this year. Esteemed plastic surgeon Dr. Harrison Lee, known for his celebrity clientele including Caitlyn Jenner and Dylan Mulvaney, spearheaded the procedure.

To rejuvenate her appearance, Dickinson underwent an endoscopic brow and mid-facelift, a deep plane facelift, and a dual plane neck lift. Additionally, she received a subnasal lip lift and a substantial fat transfer.

Complementing these procedures, Dickinson also experienced a full-face CO2 laser resurfacing treatment to enhance the radiance of her skin.

On top of that, she also had a full face CO2 laser resurfacing to rejuvenate her complexion.

Dr. Lee, who is a triple board-certified surgeon, said that Dickinson was ‘beyond ecstatic’ with the results.

‘I f***ing love it,’ gushed the former America’s Next Top Model judge.

Photos taken three months after the procedures show Dickinson looking noticeably younger and fresher than she did before, with fewer wrinkles and much smoother skin.

Fans in the comments were blown away by the results, with one gushing, ‘The neck alone looks twenty years younger, wow!’

‘The brow position looks sooo much softer and fresher now,’ wrote another.

A third added, ‘Keep in mind… it’s going to GET BETTER as time goes on!’

Earlier this year, Dickinson claimed that her face has been disfigured from a fall she suffered while filming the UK reality series I’m A Celebrity… South Africa in late 2022.

The legendary model was forced to quit the show when she tripped in the dark and fell flat on her face during taping.

She ended up filing a personal injury claim against UK broadcaster ITV at the High Court, seeking £700,000 ($940,000 USD) in damages.

Dickinson, who calls herself ‘the world’s first supermodel’, is certainly no stranger to cosmetic surgery.

In 2024, she revealed that she got her very first procedure at age 32 while dating Sylvester Stallone during an appearance on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Off The Vine podcast.

‘What point in your career were you like, “I’m gonna start getting surgery done?”‘ Bristowe asked the model.

‘Oh, gosh. I was dating Sylvester Stallone, and I was 32,’ Dickinson replied. ‘I noticed I started getting jowls…’

To tackle the issue, Dickinson got a ‘mini facelift’ done.

A mini face-lift is meant to address early signs of aging as it corrects sagging on the lower third of the face.

It requires smaller incisions than a regular facelift, minimal downtime and the results can last up to 10 years.

Dickinson recommended that Bristowe — who she said she felt she was ‘at that age’ where jowls start to become a concern — should also get a facelift.

‘Get a mini facelift. It kept me going up until last week when I noticed [my lip lines]. I did smoke for a bit. Don’t smoke. It’s bad for you,’ she said.

When asked if she ‘regrets’ any of her past surgeries, Dickinson replied: ‘Oh, no.’

She previously admitted on E!’s Botched that she’s ‘no stranger to plastic surgery’ as she’s previously undergone a boob job, a tummy tuck, neck and face-lifts and liposuction.

She’s also tried injectables like Botox but insists that her plump pout is natural.

In 2013, Dickinson declared herself bankrupt owing almost $1 million in taxes and unpaid cosmetic bills.

Nationwide Police Issue Strong Warnings as ‘Senior Assassin’ Game Gains Popularity: Highlighting Potential Dangers

0

Across the country, law enforcement and school officials are urging students to refrain from participating in a popular game that many fear could lead to dangerous situations.

Known as “Senior Assassin,” this game is primarily played by high school seniors and involves participants stalking and “eliminating” each other using water guns on school grounds. Players often engage in this activity both on school premises and private property, attempting to remain dry while drenching their opponents. The last participant to avoid getting wet emerges victorious.

However, police warn that the game not only diverts valuable resources but also poses significant risks.

The game, Senior Assassin, involves players stealthily tagging others with water guns, often requiring strategic hiding and ambush tactics, according to police warnings.

“Each year, police departments field numerous 911 calls from concerned citizens reporting suspicious activities, only to find they are linked to this game,” the Lower Makefield Police Department in Yardley, Pennsylvania, mentioned in a recent Facebook post. “Moreover, toy guns, water guns, and replica firearms can be easily mistaken for real weapons, leading to fear, panic, and potentially dangerous misunderstandings.”

POLICE WARN OF ‘DOOR KICKING CHALLENGE’ THAT CAN TURN VIRAL PRANK ‘FROM FUNNY TO FATAL’

Last year, an 18-year-old high school student in Jacksonville, Florida was shot by an off-duty Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) agent who mistook the student and two friends for potential intruders on his property. Fortunately, the student survived the incident, but police warned at the time that the game is “potentially deadly.”

After that incident, Florida officials called on parents to stop their children from playing the game.

The Fremont Police Department in California recently posted a similar warning on its Instagram account.

DEADLY SOCIAL MEDIA TREND THREATENS KIDS, HOMEOWNERS DEFENDING THEMSELVES: ‘CHILDREN ARE GOING TO GET KILLED’

“While the game involves only fake weapons, it has become a safety concern and can lead to high-risk patrol and traffic stops,” the department said. “Some students have chosen to use toy guns that look realistic to the public and to our officers, and the behavior associated with this game has caused public concern due to the belief that participants are carrying real weapons and acting suspiciously. This creates a dangerous situation and diverts emergency 9-1-1 and police resources, since officers take every report of gun violence and suspicious firearm use seriously.”

An instance of the game played by middle schoolers at Anza Trail School in a suburb of Tucson, Arizona earlier this week led to a police investigation, according to KOLD.

A teacher saw a student with a water gun, mistook it for a real gun, and called 911. Police contacted the boy’s parents, who told them where they could find him.

“The investigation revealed the juvenile had brought an Orbeez-style toy as part of an end-of-the-year prank known as Senior Assassin,” the Sahuarita Police Department reportedly said. “Additionally, officers located the toy gun and confirmed it was not an actual firearm and was not loaded with any sort of projectiles.”

“The Sahuarita Police Department takes these types of reports very seriously and truly appreciates the community for reporting suspicious activity.”

NASA Revamps to Propel Ambitious Moon Base Plans Forward

0

The United States is once more setting its sights on space exploration, with ambitious plans to explore uncharted territories. On Friday, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) unveiled a significant reorganization aimed at accelerating the development of a permanent lunar base.

Yes, you heard that right—a moon base. In terms of funding, NASA appears to be adopting a strategy of achieving greater results with a tighter budget.

Challenging government agencies to accomplish more with fewer resources can be a catalyst for innovative solutions.

During the Ignition event in late March, NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman and agency leaders outlined the most pressing objectives to deliver on the next chapter of American leadership in space. President Trump’s Executive Order Ensuring American Space Superiority, otherwise known as the National Space Policy, directed NASA to focus talent and resources on objectives including accelerating the Artemis program, establishing a Moon Base, developing a nuclear space reactor, igniting the orbital economy, and expanding missions of science and discovery.

Yup. A moon base. Budget-wise, though, it looks like NASA may be trying to do more with less.

The restructuring comes as NASA faces a contested budget request in Washington. The White House has proposed cutting the agency’s budget from $24.4 billion to $18.8 billion – a 23% reduction – while the House Appropriations Committee has advanced legislation keeping funding flat, rejecting the administration’s request.

Under the changes, mission directorates will now report directly to Isaacman rather than through the associate administrator, a move the agency said would streamline decision-making and improve coordination across NASA’s centers and international partnerships. The associate administrator will also serve as NASA’s chief engineer under the new structure.

Having any agency of the United States government do more with less isn’t a bad idea. It encourages creative thinking.

Gainesville Resident Faces Charges for Allegedly Breaking into and Vandalizing Ex-Girlfriend’s Home

In a recent development from Gainesville, Florida, authorities have apprehended Bacarius A’kenshay Dinkins, age 33, following an alleged break-in at his former girlfriend’s home, which occurred in April. The incident reportedly resulted in approximately $1,000 worth of damage to the property and involved the theft of medical marijuana.

According to reports from the Gainesville Police Department, the series of events unfolded on April 19 around 1:00 p.m. The victim, informed by her colleagues that Dinkins had contacted her workplace to confirm her presence there, reached out to him for clarification. During the conversation, Dinkins allegedly confessed to forcefully entering her home by kicking in the door. He admitted to causing significant damage to items including ceiling fans, light fixtures, a section of wall, and the front door frame. He also purportedly acknowledged taking her belongings.

Upon arriving at the scene, an officer noted extensive damage throughout the residence, estimating the cost of repairs at about $1,000. Additionally, the victim reported that her medical marijuana, valued at $40, was missing from the premises.

The officer responded to the residence and reported that there was damage throughout the home, estimated at about $1,000.

The victim also told the officer that her medical marijuana, valued at $40, was missing,

The victim said Dinkins had previously lived at the residence, but he was trespassed from the residence after they broke up.

The officer spoke with Dinkins by phone, and Dinkins reportedly admitted going to the victim’s home that morning, but he said he did not go inside. He said he knew he was trespassed from the victim’s residence and that he should not have been there; he also reportedly admitted that he had called the victim while at her residence.

Dinkins has been charged with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, grand theft from a dwelling, and misdemeanor property damage. He has no criminal history, and Judge Joy Danne ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

NYC Principal Reunites with FDNY Hero After Dramatic Flash Flood Rescue

On Friday, Mayor Zohran Mamdani paid tribute to one of New York’s heroic firefighters, who courageously rescued a Brooklyn public school principal during the city’s first major flash flood of the year.

Travis Langan, an off-duty firefighter from Ladder 123 in Crown Heights, was commended for his quick-thinking response that saved Carmen Pinto. Pinto found herself trapped in her Tesla Model 3 when it malfunctioned amid the rapidly rising floodwaters.

“She tried everything,” Mayor Mamdani recounted at a ceremony held at FDNY headquarters in Brooklyn. “She attempted to open her car door, lower her windows, and even called 911, but help wasn’t coming quickly enough.”

That evening, the city was deluged with two inches of rain in under an hour. As Langan was making his way home via the Jackie Robinson Parkway, he noticed several cars, including Pinto’s, nearly submerged in the flood.

While on the phone with his father, Langan immediately ended the call and sprang into action, determined to guide those in peril to safety.

A bystander then pointed out Pinto, whose face was pressed up against the sunroof of her vehicle as she was rapidly running out of room to breathe.

“I just started punching my way through. And I got a big enough hole,” Langan recalled.

“She actually handed me this Yeti cup. And I just started wailing away at the sunroof with the Yeti cup,” he said.

“I started ripping the glass. And I’m able to get her head through. And I’m just very grateful that she came out alive.”

The press conference at the fire department’s MetroTech Center headquarters marked the pair’s first reunion since the harrowing experience.

“I am so happy and so blessed that I was sent an angel,” Pinto, the principal of Thaddeus Stevens Elementary in Bedford-Stuyvesant, gushed to her savior.

“Travis never thought of himself,” she said. “He could have just driven home to his pregnant wife and his beautiful daughters. But he stopped.”

A diehard New York Knicks fan, Pinto, clad in a Jalen Brunson T-shirt, joked she was grateful to be able to live to see her home team continue playing in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, with the next game set for Saturday.

“He punched a hole in my roof and rescued me. And today I get to see the Knicks yet one more time,” she said.

“I get to go back to my school community in Bed-Stuy District 16.”

Mamdani praised Langan — who served in the US Marines — for his life of service, and the “split-second choice” that saved Pinto’s life.

“This is a man whose first instinct is to help, to protect, to serve, and to save,” the mayor said.

“On Wednesday night, he made a split-second choice. Because of his bravery, Mrs. Pinto will sit down to dinner with her family this evening.”
