Supergirl Star Milly Alcock Claps Back at Critics, Targets Christian Dads in Feisty Response

0

As she gears up for her role in the new “Supergirl” film, Milly Alcock has addressed her online critics, noting that many are anonymous “burner accounts” or profiles with descriptions like “Dad of four, Christian.” These comments come as the movie’s release approaches, and Alcock faces increased scrutiny.

During a recent conversation with Variety, Alcock opened up about the backlash she’s encountered since securing the lead in DC Studios’ forthcoming “Supergirl” project. She explained that she has learned to ignore the growing online outrage that often accompanies major franchise releases.

“At the end of the day, whose opinion really matters to you?” Alcock remarked. “If you’re upsetting the right people, then you’re probably on the right track.”

Alcock indicated that much of the negativity she faces stems from anonymous users who react impulsively on social media.

“It’s amusing to me because it’s often from accounts without profile pictures, or they’re just burner profiles,” Alcock noted. “Or it’s someone whose username is something like ‘Dad of four, Christian,’ which I find quite funny.”

Alcock said she partly understands why people become emotionally invested in celebrities and fictional franchises, arguing that distrust in institutions has pushed some people toward online communities for direction and validation.

Alcock noted that governments don’t have “anyone’s best interests at heart” and people turn “to online forums to find that guidance.”

“It just creates an unhealthy relationship with a person” who will eventually disappoint, she said.

The comments build on concerns Alcock raised earlier this year about the pressure female stars face in major entertainment franchises. In an earlier interview promoting “Supergirl,” the actress said women in fan-heavy franchises often face criticism simply for being cast in prominent roles.

“It definitely made me aware that simply existing as a woman in that space is something that people comment on,” Alcock previously said while discussing her experience starring in HBO’s “House of the Dragon” and the upcoming DC film.

“We have become very comfortable having this weird ownership of women’s bodies,” she said.

Alcock first gained widespread attention playing young Rhaenyra Targaryen in “House of the Dragon,” the “Game of Thrones” prequel that became one of HBO’s biggest recent hits. She later appeared on “Sirens” before landing the lead role in “Supergirl.”

The actress also spoke openly about the stress of her new role, admitting she feared audience reaction while stepping into one of DC’s most recognizable superhero franchises.

“Of course I’m scared,” Alcock said in March. “Of course, I want people to like me and the movie. But, ultimately, it’s out of my control.”

The film is part of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s rebooted DC Universe, following the release of the new Superman film.

“Supergirl” is scheduled to hit theaters in June.

Trump Applauds Stephen Colbert’s Grand Finale: A Surprising End to Late-Night TV Era

0

In a rather surprising move, former President Donald Trump took to celebrating Stephen Colbert’s final show by likening the comedian to a “dead person” devoid of talent. This jab came as Colbert delivered some final, biting remarks aimed at CBS during his farewell broadcast.

Colbert had previously announced that his contract with Paramount/CBS would not be renewed, bringing an end to his late-night show after an impressive 11-year run. This decision also marked the conclusion of the program’s remarkable 44-year history on the network.

Though the network attributed the cancellation to “purely a financial decision,” this announcement closely followed Colbert’s critical comments regarding Paramount/CBS’s $16 million lawsuit settlement with Trump. Colbert had provocatively labeled the settlement as a “big fat bribe.”

Amidst these developments, Paramount was also navigating a significant merger with Skydance, a major movie studio. This merger required the green light from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), adding another layer of complexity to the situation.

As the curtain finally fell on Colbert’s show this past Friday, Trump found a moment to revel in the news.

‘Colbert is finally finished at CBS. Amazing he lasted so long!’ the president wrote on his Truth Social page, claiming Colbert had ‘no talent, no life.’

‘He was like a dead person,’ Trump continued. ‘You could take any person off of the street and they would do better than this total jerk.

‘Thank goodness he’s finally gone.’

But as Colbert ended the show, he took a few jabs at his now former bosses at CBS and Paramount.

During his ‘Meanwhile’ segment, in which the now former late night host discussed lesser known news stories, Colbert shared a recent headline about how the owner of the music used in ‘Peanuts’ animated specials filed several lawsuits against those who played the song ‘Linus and Lucy’ without permission.

‘Now, “Peanuts” is a powerful brand and corporation in and of itself,’ Colbert noted. ‘Anyone illegally using that music is going to have to pay through the nose.’

At that point, his band started playing the tune.

‘Louis, is the band right now playing the same “Peanuts” music that I just said people were being sued for using without permission?’ he asked singer Louis Cato, who proceeded to nod.

‘Oh no, I hope this doesn’t cost CBS any money,’ Colbert said sarcastically.

Later, in a pre-taped bit as the star-studded final episode came to an end, Colbert went to investigate what had been causing ‘technical difficulties’ during his show – only to find a swirling green vortex.

Famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson then explained that it was an ‘interdimensional wormhole’ that was caused when his show was canceled despite it being ‘number one on late night.’

The dichotomy, he said, ‘created a rift in the comedy-variety-talk continuum’ that threatened to destroy ‘all of late night television.’

As he then considered what to do, Colbert’s one-time mentor Jon Stewart appeared to ‘deliver a statement’ on behalf of Paramount.

Stewart hosts ‘The Daily Show’ on Comedy Central once a week. Both Comedy Central and CBS are owned by Paramount.

‘Paramount strongly believes in covering both sides of any black hole that is swallowing everything we know and love, and the coverage must also include the positive aspect of the insatiable emptiness,’ he remarked.

The joke seemed to be a not-very-subtle jab at CBS News President Bari Weiss, who has argued that the network needed to include more conservative voices and once scrapped a ’60 Minutes’ about President Donald Trump’s deportation plan that she felt was too one-sided.

He was later joined by fellow late night comedians Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, John Oliver and Seth Meyers

The wormhole segment then ended with fellow late night comedians Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, John Oliver and Seth Meyers offering their own perspectives.

‘Late night isn’t going to be the same without you,’ Kimmel said.

‘Yeah, without you, who will America turn to see a middle-aged white man make jokes about the news?’ added Meyers, a reference to the late night landscape comprising the demographic.

Later, Kimmel remarked: ‘One of these holes opened at my show last year, but it went away after three days.’

The joke was in reference to Jimmy Kimmel Live’s brief cancelation last year following backlash to a joke he made about Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

In the end, Oliver said, ‘this may come for all of our shows – but what’s important to remember is tonight, it’s going to eat you.’

Yet Colbert – who replaced Letterman at the helm of The Late Show in 2015 – has remained mostly cordial about his cancelation.

When he first announced it, he thanked CBS and TV viewers for their support of the show.

‘I’m not being replaced. This is all just going away,’ he told his fans at the time.

‘I do want to say that the folks at CBS have been great partners… And I’m grateful to the audience, you, who have joined us every night, in here, out there, and all around the world.’

Colbert has since secured a post-cancellation gig penning a new Lord of the Rings film for Warner Bros. with his 27-year-old son Peter McGee and Philippa Boyens, which was announced on Tolkien Reading Day March 25.

Ex-Georgia Christian School Teacher Sentenced for Sexual Abuse of 15-Year-Old Student

0

A former teacher at a Christian school in Georgia received a 12-year prison sentence on Monday after confessing to the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old student, an incident that resulted in the closure of the private institution.

Sherri Delle Mauldin, aged 61, entered a guilty plea in Greene County Superior Court. Following her sentencing, she was also given 25 years of probation and mandated to register as a sex offender.

The scandal unfolded with accusations that Mauldin engaged in inappropriate behavior with a teenage male student during her tenure at Nathanael Greene Academy, a private Christian school located in Siloam, Georgia. Prosecutors revealed that the abuse spanned a month and included several sexual encounters at various locations.

“This situation involved a 15-year-old child and, let’s be clear, a 60-year-old adult,” remarked Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney T. Wright Barksdale III to The Union-Recorder following the verdict.

Barksdale said prosecutors sought a longer prison term because of several “aggravating circumstances,” including the age gap between Mauldin and the student and the teacher-student relationship.

“Age gap is something that was an aggravated circumstance, and the fact that it was a teacher and a student — that was an aggravating circumstance,” Barksdale said. “The fact that this was a criminal act that took place over the course of a month… was an aggravating circumstance.”

Judge Terry N. Massey ultimately sentenced Mauldin to six fewer years than prosecutors requested.

Mauldin’s attorney had argued for a probationary sentence and asked the court to spare her prison time. During testimony, Mauldin reportedly described herself as being in “a dark place” at the time of the abuse and expressed remorse.

The investigation into Mauldin began after another former Nathanael Greene Academy teacher, Bonnie Elizabeth Brown, 26, was arrested on allegations she also had sexual contact with the same student.

Brown has pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial, which is scheduled to begin next month, according to prosecutors.

The scandal involving both educators led to the closure of Nathanael Greene Academy, which had operated since 1959. The academy announced it would permanently close last year amid fallout from the investigation.

The teenage victim previously accused school officials of failing to protect him.

“These women took advantage of their positions as my teachers,” the boy said in a statement to 11 Alive previously released through his attorney, Ashley Mitchell.

“My school did not protect me as a child,” he added.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office for comment.

Trump’s Ambitious D.C. Arch Project Moves Forward: Key Milestone Achieved

0

After months of anticipation and sparking controversy among familiar critics, the Trump administration revealed designs in mid-April for a so-called “triumphal arch.” This 250-foot monument is proposed for construction in Washington, D.C., to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.

According to RedState, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that, “As we mark America’s 250th birthday this year, President Trump, alongside the Department of the Interior, will present plans for the United States Triumphal Arch. This architectural marvel will honor our nation’s history right in the heart of Washington, D.C.”

Leavitt further explained that the monument is intended to “occupy what is currently an open green space in Memorial Circle on Columbia Island, a man-made island in the Potomac River under the stewardship of the National Park Service.”

In previous reports, it was noted that three designs had been proposed to President Trump for consideration. Unsurprisingly, he opted for the most grandiose and ambitious design.

As we also reported, three plans had been submitted to President Trump for review. He, of course, picked the biggest and boldest one.

Shocking Incident: Gainesville Man Arrested for Knife Threat Against Juvenile

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 21-year-old named Jaylen Marquis Williams found himself in custody following accusations of shoving a minor. The incident escalated as Williams allegedly returned from his home wielding a knife, threatening the young individual with the words, “I’m going to hit you.”

The confrontation began around 6:30 p.m. on May 20. The juvenile was assisting his sister with her bicycle near the Williams Recreation Center when Williams reportedly confronted and shoved him. In response, the victim fled towards the basketball courts, seeking protection behind a group of three bystanders.

According to reports, Williams retreated to his home only to return shortly after, brandishing a small knife with a black handle. He allegedly repeated his threat, “I’m going to hit you,” before discarding the weapon and returning to his residence.

Witnesses corroborated the victim’s account, stating they observed Williams knocking the victim down and then later approaching with a knife in hand, repeating his ominous threat before leaving the scene.

The officer reportedly recovered the knife.

Post Miranda, Williams reportedly said he and the victim were friends, and they got into an argument over the bicycle; he said he got “angry” at the victim, so he went back to his residence, grabbed the knife, and walked over to the victim with the knife in his hand. He said he did not say anything to the victim while holding the knife, and he didn’t know why he grabbed the knife.

Williams has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and child abuse without great bodily harm. In 2023, he was charged with battery on a detention officer after allegedly spitting on a detention officer at the Alachua County Jail; he was eventually found incompetent to proceed in that case and was released on his own recognizance. In his order, Judge David Kreider wrote that Williams suffered from an intellectual disability and was “non-restorable to competence”; Williams did not meet the criteria for commitment to a treatment facility of the Department of Children and Families.

Judge Adam Lee set bail at $50,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Top 5 Bed Exercises to Enhance Waist Firmness More Effectively Than Weight Training After 55

These five bed exercises can help address waist thickening after the age of 55 before you even rise for the day.

While many people pursue a firmer waist for aesthetic reasons, the benefits extend well beyond appearance. From a coaching perspective, a strong core represents control and stability. When your core is functioning effectively, your body feels more connected, and movements become smoother and more supported. However, as time progresses, especially without direct core training or with prolonged sitting and minimal movement, these benefits can diminish.

In my experience working with clients in the gym, I’ve consistently observed a pattern: Strengthening the midsection has a positive impact on overall physical performance. Day-to-day activities, such as getting out of bed, become less strenuous, balance is enhanced, and lower back discomfort is reduced. Thus, the concept of a “firm waist” encompasses both appearance and functionality, as they often go hand in hand.

While strength training remains crucial, particularly for muscle building and overall strength maintenance, the most effective outcomes often emerge from incorporating small, regular movements. Spending just a few minutes engaging in exercises while still in bed, either at the start or end of your day, can build consistency without requiring additional time from your busy schedule.

Strength training still plays a role, especially when the goal is to build muscle and stay strong overall. At the same time, some of the best results come from adding in small, consistent doses of movement. A few minutes in bed before your feet hit the floor or before you turn in for the night is an easy way to build that consistency without needing to carve out extra time.

Bodyweight core work fits well in that setting because it keeps things simple while still being effective. When you slow your reps down and stay in control, your muscles stay engaged longer, which is where the benefit really comes from. I’ve seen that approach work time and time again. Stick with it, and you’ll start to feel your core working during everyday movement, not just when you’re exercising.

Same Side Dead Bug

Moving the same arm and leg together makes this variation more demanding than the standard version. Your core has to work harder to keep your lower back pressed down and your hips steady. When you take your time and stay controlled, the movement becomes much more challenging than it looks. You’ll feel your midsection working through the full rep, rather than just moving your arms and legs.

Muscles Trained: Core, hip flexors, shoulders

How to Do It:

  1. Lie on your back with your arms extended toward the ceiling and knees bent at 90 degrees.
  2. Press your lower back gently into the bed.
  3. Extend one arm and the same-side leg toward the bed.
  4. Keep your core engaged and avoid arching your back.
  5. Return to the starting position and switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps per side. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Opposite arm and leg dead bugs, paused reps, slow tempo reps

Form Tip: Keep your lower back pressed down throughout.

Flutter Kicks

Flutter kicks keep your core working the entire time since your legs never fully stop. That forces your midsection to stay engaged, especially when you keep the movement controlled. Smaller, slower kicks make a big difference here. When you rush, the tension disappears, but when you stay steady, your lower abs stay involved from start to finish.

Muscles Trained: Lower abs, hip flexors

How to Do It:

  1. Lie on your back with your legs extended.
  2. Place your hands under your hips for support if needed.
  3. Lift your legs slightly off the bed.
  4. Alternate small kicks up and down with each leg.
  5. Keep your core engaged and your lower back pressed down.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 20 to 30 seconds. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Higher leg position, slower kicks, extended hold with small pulses

Form Tip: Keep your kicks small and controlled.

Side Plank Hold

Side planks put the focus on the muscles along the sides of your waist. These muscles help keep you steady when you shift your weight or change direction. When they’re trained consistently, your balance improves, and your core feels more solid overall. Holding the position with good alignment keeps the work where it belongs.

Muscles Trained: Obliques, core, shoulders

How to Do It:

  1. Lie on your side with your legs stacked.
  2. Place your forearm under your shoulder.
  3. Lift your hips to form a straight line.
  4. Hold the position while staying tight through your core.
  5. Lower back down and switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 20 to 30 seconds per side. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Bent-knee side plank, extended hold, reach-throughs

Form Tip: Keep your hips lifted and your body in a straight line. If a traditional side plank is a little tough, opt for a kneeling side plank!

Russian Twists

Russian twists bring rotation into your routine, which your body uses more often than you might think. Turning, reaching, and shifting all rely on this pattern. When you stay controlled and move through your torso instead of just swinging your arms, your obliques stay engaged throughout the set. That steady tension helps build strength through your waist.

Muscles Trained:
Obliques, core

How to Do It:

  1. Sit up with your knees bent and feet lightly on the bed.
  2. Lean back slightly while keeping your chest up.
  3. Clasp your hands together in front of you.
  4. Rotate your torso to one side.
  5. Return to the center and rotate to the other side.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 10 to 15 reps per side. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Feet elevated, slower tempo, pause at each side

Form Tip: Rotate through your torso and avoid relying solely on your arms.

Forearm Plank

The forearm plank challenges your core to hold a steady position without movement. Staying aligned from head to heels keeps your abs and sides working together. The longer you hold that position with control, the more your core has to stay engaged. It’s a simple setup, but it gets challenging quickly when done well.

Muscles Trained: Core, shoulders

How to Do It:

  1. Start on your forearms with your elbows under your shoulders.
  2. Extend your legs behind you.
  3. Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels.
  4. Brace your core and hold the position.
  5. Maintain steady breathing throughout.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 20 to 30 seconds. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Longer holds, alternating leg lifts, shoulder taps

Form Tip: Keep your hips level and avoid letting them sag.

The Best Tips for Firming Your Waist After 55

This is where most people either overcomplicate things or bounce between routines without sticking with anything long enough to see a change. What tends to work better is keeping it simple and doing it often enough for your body actually to adapt. These bed exercises aren’t meant to feel like a full workout, but when they become part of your routine, they give your core a steady dose of work that adds up over time. You’ll start to notice it in small ways first, better control when you move, less tension through your lower back, and a stronger connection through your midsection. From there, it builds.

  • Slow your reps down: Control keeps your muscles working longer during each set.
  • Stay aware of your position: A small shift in form can take tension off your core without you realizing it.
  • Keep your lower back set: A light press into the surface helps maintain alignment.
  • Stick with it daily or close to it: Consistency matters more than intensity here.
  • Carry it into the rest of your day: The more you stay engaged in everyday movement, the more you reinforce what you’re building.

Will Amanda Frances Make a Comeback to RHOBH? Here’s What She Revealed!

Amanda Frances recently revisited her past conflicts with Dorit Kemsley and Bozoma “Boz” Saint John, as speculation about her return to “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” for its 16th season swirls. This reflection comes as she also shares insights from the season 15 reunion and reveals which cast members received save-the-date cards for her upcoming fall wedding to Eddie Tsivislavsky. Amanda and Eddie, who tied the knot in a courthouse ceremony in September 2025, are planning a more formal celebration later this year.

Amanda Frances Addresses If She's Returning to RHOBH Next Season, Dorit Suggesting She Weaponized Son's Death and Boz Comparing Business to Cult, Plus Which Costars Are Invited to Her Wedding

During a candid interview on May 20 with Extra TV, Amanda, 41, addressed some of the more contentious moments from her time on the show. She reacted to Dorit’s accusation that she had used the death of her son as leverage, and Boz’s remark likening Amanda’s business to a “cult.” Reflecting on these challenges, Amanda emphasized a new perspective she had gained by the reunion’s end.

“I came to understand that people will throw things at you, but you can respond in a way that stays true to who you are,” Amanda shared. “You don’t need to argue or be combative. In my mind, it was like playing ping-pong—just bouncing their energy back.”

Specifically addressing the discord with Dorit, Amanda clarified, “The notion that I somehow used my son’s memory on the anniversary of his death to deflect criticism is unfounded. There wasn’t any ‘hot seat’ to escape. I didn’t speak ill of Dorit at all.”

Then, speaking of Dorit specifically, she added, “The idea that I weaponized my son on the anniversary or weaponized his death or whatever to get out of the hot seat — there was no hot seat. I hadn’t talked bad about Dorit.”

“That’s the only one that is like, ‘Really? You can really believe that about a mom?’ That one kinda gets me,” Amanda admitted.

As for Boz comparing her company to a “cult,” Amanda expressed frustration in her co-star’s inability to grasp her explanation for its mantra.

“It felt like, okay, so you’re gonna say there’s something wrong with my business, but then I explain the business, I explain the happy clients, and you can’t really argue with that anymore, so now you’re gonna say it’s a cult. It just felt like a you-can’t-win moment,” Amanda noted. “[It] hurt my feelings, because that’s the idea that I would control people, that’s the idea that I would somehow like take away their free will… I do the opposite. I help women think for themselves, get out of any situation that they’re in that’s controlling them and holding them back.”

Although Amanda was irked by the “cult” claim for “a minute,” she ultimately decided to lean in.

“I just have to be like, ‘Welcome to my cult. Here’s what we do over here. Here’s how it works. Here’s how happy we are in my cult,’” she joked.

Regarding whether or not she and Boz could move forward, Amanda had hope.

“I honestly really believe that it should be fairly easy for her and I to get along. We had off-camera moments where we got along very well. We had on-camera moments where I thought we understood each other very well… But, like, I don’t think there’s any inherent reason to have, like, beef. I personally don’t,” she stated.

With season 16 coming soon, Amanda confirmed that while she was loosely aware of when filming was set to start, she hadn’t been “formally asked back yet.”

“I think there’s a good chance they’re going to, but then I have to decide, ‘Do I want to do that again?’ You’ve gotta understand, it’s like three months of filming, but then it’s like six months of interviews, and then the show starts coming out and it’s media. I was cast this time last year — that means it did take one year of my life,” she reasoned. “It did take a full year, and it was a lot of the year. And I was still obviously running my business, doing my thing, but during the filming chunk of the year, it actually takes up a lot of psychological space doing the show.”

“I wasn’t having, like, creative business ideas. I wasn’t thinking about the next launch. I wasn’t in the space to create and do what I think I’m here to do, you know? The show took a lot,” she continued. “But then again, you have all these new people reading my book, checking out my courses, and that feels very meaningful.”

As for her courthouse wedding to husband Eddie, Amanda described it as “beautiful.”

“It was beautiful because it was he and I and the kids. At the end of the day, I had that. I had the moment of saying, ‘I do’ and the ‘For richer or richer’ and him rolling his eyes at me and the us being us and the kids being there. I had that, and that’s done, and we’ll always have that. You know, because our wedding weekend coming up is gonna be busy. It’s gonna be like five events over four days. It’s gonna be busy, but now we have this.”

Amanda then shared who from the RHOBH cast would be invited.

“I can tell you [Kyle Richards], [Kathy Hilton], and [Jennifer Tilly] got save-the-dates. I can tell you that,” she teased.

Texas Shooting Spree Suspect Revealed: Cristian Mondragon-Fajardo’s Immigration Status Uncovered

0

Authorities have identified a 17-year-old suspect, charged with orchestrating a random shooting spree throughout Austin, as an undocumented immigrant. This revelation came from prosecutors on Tuesday.

The suspect, Cristian Mondragon-Fajardo, is one of three individuals accused of carrying out 12 shootings across the city over the weekend. These incidents resulted in three people sustaining injuries, with one victim currently in critical condition.

The other two suspects, aged 15 and 16, remain unnamed due to their minor status.

In a court session on Tuesday, prosecutors announced that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had issued a detainer for Mondragon-Fajardo following his arrest on Sunday, as reported by Fox 7 Austin.

Criminal Defense and Immigration Attorney Robert Jimenez commented on the situation, stating, “The ICE detainer adds an additional layer to his legal proceedings.”

The development comes after a retired Austin police officer blasted the city’s left-leaning leadership, accusing the city council of embracing policies that weakened law enforcement before the violent rampage, including the stripping of key tools used by police.

Last weekend’s violent crime spree targeted the city’s first responders, with gunfire striking two Austin Fire Department stations and three fire trucks. Authorities said additional incidents included gunfire damage to five vehicles and four homes, as well as the theft of a firearm and five cars.

Mondragon-Fajardo was reportedly charged with six felonies, including two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, two counts of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, theft of firearms and evading arrest in a motor vehicle.

Prosecutors said Mondragon-Fajardo is being held without bond, arguing he poses a danger to the community and could face deportation if released, the outlet said.

With the ICE detainer in place, immigration agents have requested that local law enforcement notify ICE before releasing the suspect and hold him for up to 48 business hours, allowing federal authorities to assume custody for potential deportation proceedings.

However, the detainer does not indicate that ICE can immediately take over the criminal case.

“That would only kick in once he is no longer authorized to be held by state custody,” Jimenez said, according to Fox 7.

ICE could become involved later, either after a prison sentence or parole is completed, at which point Mondragon-Fajardo could face removal proceedings.

Jimenez reportedly added that the immigration hold may also affect defense strategy, potentially shaping how attorneys approach any plea negotiations given the possible immigration consequences.

“You might be able to get a beneficial plea agreement, but that plea agreement might still result in severe negative immigration consequences,” Jimenez said.

Mondragon-Fajardo also has an active warrant for allegedly previously stealing a firearm from a local store, where the 15-year-old suspect is accused of stealing another weapon on Saturday.

It is unclear whether Mondragon-Fajardo’s co-defendants are being processed through a separate juvenile justice system due to their ages.

Stephen Colbert Announces Surprise Last Guest After Unexpected Pope Leo Cancellation

0

Stephen Colbert wrapped up his remarkable tenure on The Late Show, spanning over ten years, with a memorable final guest.

In the midst of the last episode, the 62-year-old host astonished audiences by bringing Beatles icon Paul McCartney, aged 83, onto the stage.

The encounter was significant, as McCartney, alongside his fellow Beatles—John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison—had first graced American television at the Ed Sullivan Theatre, where Colbert’s show is recorded, 62 years prior.

Back on February 9, 1964, over 73 million Americans tuned in to the Ed Sullivan Show to witness The Beatles perform, marking the beginning of ‘Beatlemania’ in the U.S.

Just before McCartney’s unexpected entrance on Thursday’s show, Colbert humorously mentioned that the Pope was supposed to be the final guest, but he humorously refused to leave his dressing room.

The scenario played out in a hilarious sketch with Colbert begging a fake Pope Leo to come to the stage before the imposter threw a Chicago-style hot dog out of his dressing room door in disgust.

‘The Pope – who was definitely my guest tonight – has canceled,’ Colbert exclaimed from behind his desk.

‘We already sent the other stars away,’ Colbert said, referring to cameos from Ryan Reynolds and other A-listers who stopped by the studio on Thursday. ‘This is terrible.’

He then asked, ‘Who is going to be my last guest now?’

Then, from offstage, McCartney yelled out to Stephen.

‘Hey Stephen! What about me? I can do it,’ the musician said earnestly as he slowly walked out in front of the audience.

The shocked crowd erupted in roaring applause and cheers as McCartney and Colbert warmly embraced for the camera.

Colbert called McCartney his ‘perfect last guest’ as the rocker joked he was ‘just in the area’ and decided to stop by.

He then presented Colbert, who is a massive fan of the Beatles, with an incredible gift.

Pulling the present out from behind McCartney’s chair, Colbert revealed a framed, colorized photo of the Beatles performing on The Ed Sullivan Show.

‘That’s here,’ Colbert remarked, referring to the Ed Sullivan Theatre.

The photo was signed by McCartney and included a personal message to Colbert in cursive.

‘”To Stephen, you’re better than the Beatles,”‘ Colbert read aloud as McCartney insisted that that wasn’t what the note actually said.

Colbert thanked McCartney for the ‘lovely’ gift before asking him if he can ‘still hear the girls screaming’ from his Beatles days when he closes his eyes inside the Ed Sullivan Theatre.

‘Yeah,’ McCartney responded enthusiastically, which prompted the entire studio audience to recreate the famous Beatlemania fanfare he experienced at the time.

Further recalling the iconic performance, McCartney shared that Sullivan, a TV pioneer who died in 1974, was ‘really nice’ to the band and a ‘really cool guy.’

Colbert asked McCartney to share what he remembers from that day 62 years ago.

‘You know, we had never been to America,’ he began. ‘We come here and people said it’s like the biggest show. To tell you the truth, we had never heard of [Ed Sullivan] in England.

‘But yeah, it was fantastic,’ he added.

McCartney said he and the Beatles, who were in their early 20s at the time, were ‘very pleased’ with their debut performance, which included live renditions of five of their hits – All My Loving, Till There Was You, She Loves You, I Saw Her Standing There and I Want To Hold Your Hand.

They then returned to the show one week later on February 16, 1964 and again just months later on May 24, 1964.

The Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show a total of four times, with their final pre-taped appearance airing on September 12, 1965.

‘Looking back on it now, what I’m pleased with, we were live and we [sounded] good,’ McCartney said of their Ed Sullivan sets.

While McCartney, Lennon, Starr and Harrison were ‘a little bit nervous’ to perform on U.S. television for the first time ever, he said that they were also ‘young kids’ who were ‘sort of full of ourselves.’

To close out Colbert’s last-ever episode, McCartney whipped out his guitar and performed the Beatles’s 1967 hit Hello, Goodbye with Colbert and the Late Show band.

The performance also featured Jon Batiste, Louis Cato, and music legend Elvis Costello.

It brought the entire audience to their feet as Colbert emotionally sang along and savored his final seconds on the air.

The comedian has spent nearly 11 years at the helm of The Late Show, taking over as host in September 2015 from David Letterman.

The 79-year-old launched the late-night talk show in 1993 and retired after 22 years.

A number of celebrities have helped Colbert bring the show to a close this week, including Ryan Reynolds, Jon Stewart and Steven Spielberg.

His rivals, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, will both air reruns on Thursday night out of respect for the departing star.

Colbert shockingly announced on July 17 that Paramount/CBS would not be renewing his contract after 11 years on the air, and they would end the late-night program.

At the time, the network claimed it was ‘purely a financial decision,’ but the cancellation came days after Colbert called Paramount/CBS’s $16 million lawsuit settlement with President Donald Trump ‘a big fat bribe.’

Paramount was also in the midst of a multibillion-dollar merger with the movie studio Skydance, which requires the government approval of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Immediately after the show ends, Colbert will be hosting a Fired and Festive wrap party for the Late Show.

The invitations add: ‘That’s a WRAP! (PARTY)’.

The dress code is said to be ‘Fired and Festive’, and the event will take place at a nearby event space close to the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City.

Shocking Vandalism: Man Accused of Launching Beer Keg at Iconic Georgetown Cupcake Shop

Authorities in Washington have apprehended a 28-year-old man from Maryland who is suspected of launching a beer keg through the front window of a renowned bakery spotlighted on a reality TV show.

Identified as Charles Joseph Ali from Rockville, Maryland, he is facing a felony charge for property destruction after allegedly throwing the metal keg through the window of Georgetown Cupcake, located at the juncture of M and 33rd Streets, on Sunday night.

Ali is also a suspect in a separate vandalism case from April involving another nearby establishment, though no charges have been filed in relation to that incident as the investigation continues.

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying this individual, who is believed to be involved in several vandalism acts across M Street in Georgetown, including the attack on the well-known Georgetown Cupcake.

The bakery was featured on Discovery’s “DC Cupcakes” for three seasons, and the shop is known for long lines that stretch down the block. The owners, Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Berman, are sisters who quit careers in finance and fashion to launch the family business.

Berman told Fox News Digital earlier this week that a lone female employee came face-to-face with the keg tosser around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. She fled to the back of the shop, afraid of what he might do.

He left after breaking the window, however, surveillance video shows.

“She was absolutely terrified,” Berman said. “She still is. She is really shaken by this. It causes a lot of psychological damage to you.”

Earlier, the suspect first tried and failed to rip up a metal trash can from the curb, according to Berman. He went around the corner and came back with a keg that was outside a nearby home, she said, citing additional surveillance video recovered by neighboring businesses.

“He’s violent, and I think that, to be honest with you, in our society, we live in a civil society where there’s an expectation for us to respect each other, our property, and clearly he didn’t do any of those things,” Berman told Fox News Digital.
