US Attorney Jeanine Pirro Targets DC Teens and Parents with Legal Action Following Chipotle Brawl Incident

0

On Monday, DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro declared an intensified effort to tackle adolescent violence in Washington, sparked by a chaotic altercation caught on video over the weekend.

Pirro warned of possible legal actions against both youths and their parents, citing federal laws against contributing to juvenile delinquency, which could result in up to six months of imprisonment for violators.

Addressing the media at a press briefing, Pirro stated, “The events of Saturday night at Chipotle in the Navy Yard, along with the rising trend of such incidents throughout the district, are not just unacceptable—they are violent, perilous, and illegal.”

She emphasized, “This behavior will not be tolerated,” adding a stern message for parents: “We are scrutinizing parental roles to ensure they are held accountable for the disorder affecting this community.”

Pirro further remarked, “These are not mere social gatherings; they are violent disruptions. The incident at Chipotle illustrates not only interpersonal violence but also vandalism and a blatant hijacking of the establishment by individuals who believed they could act without consequences.”

New UFO Documents Released Following Mysterious Alien Image Shared by Trump

0

The Trump Administration has embarked on the second phase of its UFO disclosure initiative, with officials anticipating the release of the next set of documents in the near future.

On Monday, Chief Pentagon Spokesperson Sean Parnell revealed on X that these files are currently in the process of being prepared for public dissemination.

The initial batch, unveiled on May 8, featured unprecedented photos, videos, and government documents related to unidentified anomalous phenomena, commonly referred to as UAPs.

Lawmakers have previously indicated that the first disclosure was merely the start, hinting that there is much more sensational information yet to be revealed.

Tennessee Representative Tim Burchett, a vocal advocate in Congress for transparency on UFOs, stirred further interest after the May 8 release. He remarked, “The first release will be significant, but compared to what’s coming, it will be just a small fraction.”

‘I would say “Holy Crap” is coming,’ Burchett added.

The latest update arrived just one day after President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated image of himself standing beside a handcuffed alien at a US military base, further intensifying online discussion surrounding the administration’s disclosure campaign.

The surreal image, shared on Trump’s Truth Social account, showed the president and his security detail escorting the extraterrestrial figure across the tarmac while armed military personnel looked on.

News of the second release flooded social media, where one user said: ‘Finally! The government’s processing UFOs faster than my laptop processes a software update.

‘Either we’re getting disclosure or the world’s longest episode of coming soon. Either way, grab your tinfoil hat, things are getting interesting.’

Others, however, are not sold on the notion that the files will be released soon.

One X use posted: ‘The phrase “actively being processed” is classic government doublespeak, suggesting momentum while committing to absolutely nothing, keeping the UFO hype alive without releasing a single page.

‘It’s the perfect way to acknowledge public curiosity without ever having to deliver, turning transparency into an endless process rather than an event.’

Burchett also made similar statements in a video posted on Monday, suggesting the files could be withheld.

‘The problem we have right now is that the Deep State’s fighting a president on release. And he kept his word,’ he told Morell Media.

‘I suspect some of our not-so-friendly comrades in some alphabet agencies are slow-walking a lot of information. It’s about power, it’s about control. That’s kind of what runs Washington.’

The release of the first batch was teased the evening of May 7 by Florida Representative Anna Paulina Luna, who posted cryptic messages suggesting it would happen the next day at 8am ET.

The documents were made public months after the President ordered the Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to declassify government records related to UFOs and alleged extraterrestrial activity.

Among the most striking materials were images and transcripts linked to NASA’s Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 missions. One photo taken from the lunar surface appears to show three unexplained dots hovering in the dark sky above the moon.

The disclosure also included FBI images from New Year’s Eve 1999 that appear to show unidentified objects near US military aircraft, along with photographs captured by military pilots allegedly showing fast-moving objects streaking past planes mid-flight.

A bizarre glowing object resembling an ‘eight-pointed star’ streaking across the sky was among the most chilling videos released in Friday’s bombshell UFO disclosure.

The eerie infrared footage, captured by US military personnel in 2013, appears to show something darting through the darkness with uneven, shape-shifting arms.

Interest surrounding the disclosures intensified after Luna, chair of the House Oversight Task Force on Declassification, previously said dozens of military UFO videos remained hidden from the public.

One image released in the first batch appeared to show a bright circular object within a military targeting reticle, although officials said the description should not be interpreted as confirmation of the object's nature or significance

Luna had requested the release of 46 classified UAP videos earlier this year, including footage allegedly captured near military bases, war zones and restricted airspace.

The Pentagon missed an April deadline to release the materials, later attributing the delay to what officials described as a clerical issue.

Officials have not confirmed whether the second phase will include additional videos, radar data, pilot testimony or classified intelligence assessments.

Understanding Ebola: Key Factors Behind the Alarm Over the Latest Outbreak

0

in brief

  • Ebola passes through contact with bodily fluids.
  • The infectious disease is rare but severe and often fatal, killing roughly 50 per cent of those who catch it.

The recent Ebola outbreak has tragically claimed over 80 lives, leading to its classification as a public health emergency in central sub-Saharan Africa.

On Sunday, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared this surge in cases to be of “international concern.” However, the organization clarified that the situation has not yet reached pandemic levels.

Jean Kaseya, the director-general of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, expressed grave concern, stating that he is in a state of “panic mode” due to the outbreak.

“I am currently in panic mode because of the fatalities. We lack the necessary medicines and vaccines to aid the affected countries,” Kaseya explained.

He urged Western nations to help bolster the local development and manufacturing of treatments and vaccines for diseases like Ebola in Africa, cautioning that the health crisis may have far-reaching consequences if not addressed promptly.

“This is the equity issue. Western countries, they don’t understand that, when Africa is affected, they are also at risk, because people are flying every day,” he said.

What is Ebola?

The disease is classified as a zoonotic viral hemorrhagic fever, which can be passed between humans and other primates.

Symptoms are typically flu-like to begin with — making it hard to distinguish from other illnesses — before progressing to severe fevers and muscle pain, internal and external bleeding, and multi-organ failure.

The disease can be spread via direct contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person, making medical staff treating Ebola patients the most at risk of catching the disease.

It was first reported among humans in 1976 and has since caused intermittent outbreaks in central and West Africa.

The largest of these was the 2014 Western African epidemic, which killed an estimated 11,325 people, mainly in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.

Why is this outbreak so concerning?

Ebola has six viral strains, four of which are significant to humans, but only one of which has approved vaccines and treatments.

The WHO has said that the current outbreak is being driven by the Bundibugyo strain, for which there are currently no approved medical preventatives or specific medications.

“As such, this event is considered extraordinary,” the WHO has said.

However, the Bundibugyo strain is considered less lethal than the Zaire and Sudan strains that have sparked previous outbreaks.

While those viruses have fatality rates of 80 to 90 per cent and 50 per cent respectively, Bundibugyo is thought to kill around 40 per cent of those that it infects.

That said, the virus has been spreading for weeks in a part of the world where civil war and distrust of government interventions make public health policy difficult to implement.

The first known case of this outbreak was a nurse who developed symptoms on 24 April, nearly a month before the WHO confirmed an outbreak.

“Ongoing transmission has occurred for several weeks, and the outbreak has been detected very late, which is concerning,” Anne Cori, global infectious disease specialist at Imperial College London, told the BBC.

This means that health officials are trying to catch up with the spread of the disease and that there is a “potentially much larger outbreak than what is currently being detected and reported”.

No risk to Australia

Based on previous outbreaks overseas, the risk of the spread of Ebola to countries like Australia is low, according to health authorities.

Even at the height of the 2014 outbreak, which affected some 28,000 people, no infections spread to the country and Australia has never recorded an Ebola infection.

The Australian Centre for Disease Control says the country has strong systems in place to prevent and respond to the disease.

The illness is much less transmissible than a disease like COVID-19 and is not thought to be airborne, except possibly by people who are very sick and unlikely to be mobile.

In 2014, Australia temporarily restricted visas to people from heavily affected nations, and humanitarian workers returning from the region were placed under public health surveillance.

The government at the time also contributed $1 million to the WHO to help control the spread of the outbreak.

A Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesperson told SBS News that the government is “closely monitoring the current outbreak”. They urge Australians to follow the advice on the Smartraveller website, which provides updates on health risks in travel destinations, including Ebola.

“We continue to advise do not travel to the DRC,” the spokesperson continued. “We also advise exercise a high degree of caution in Uganda overall and reconsider your need to travel within 50 kilometres of the border with the DRC.”

The WHO advises countries not impacted by the outbreak not to close their borders to travellers from affected regions and to prepare for the evacuation and repatriation of citizens who have been exposed to the virus.

Decades-Old Murder Case Sees Emotional Courtroom Confrontation as Families Face Convicted Killer Who Fell for Undercover DNA Trap

0

A Washington resident has been handed a prison sentence of 50 years to life after confessing to two long-unsolved murders. The breakthrough in these cold cases came thanks to a piece of chewing gum.

Seventy-four-year-old Mitchell Gaff received his sentence last week following his guilty plea in connection with the deaths of 21-year-old Susan Vesey and 42-year-old Judith “Judy” Weaver in Everett, as reported by FOX 13.

The link to the 1984 murder of Weaver was established when detectives from the Everett Police Department approached Gaff under the guise of being gum industry researchers, offering him a free sample, according to a report by USA Today.

Gaff accepted the gum, which the undercover officers then submitted to the federal database CODIS. This clever ruse ultimately connected him to Weaver’s killing.

According to the Everett Police Department, Mitchell Gaff admitted to both the assaults and the murders of Judith Weaver and Susan Vesey in Everett, Washington.

He was arrested in May 2024 and was later charged with Vesey’s killing while behind bars, with investigators revealing she had been murdered inside her apartment the day after her 21st birthday on July 12, 1980, officials said.

Speaking in court on Wednesday, Gaff offered an apology to the families of both victims seated in the courtroom, while pointing to drugs and alcohol as contributing factors to his history of violence.

“I am sorry, not because I was caught, but the consequences,” Gaff said, according to NBC News. “No one did anything to deserve me coming into their lives.”

The court also heard from Jacqueline O’Brien, a former law enforcement officer who survived a violent attack by Gaff inside her Everett home’s garage in 1979.

“I knew he was going to kill me,” O’Brien said, FOX 13 reported.

O’Brien managed to escape the attack and was pivotal in helping authorities identify Gaff, who was arrested several times in the years after and spent time behind bars for the rapes of two teenage sisters in 1984.

“My nightmare occurred 47 years ago, but it seems like yesterday,” O’Brien added.

Vesey’s son, Joshua Vesey, told the court he was just 3 months old and inside the apartment when his mother was killed by Gaff, FOX 13 reported.

“What the defendant took from me and my sister was not just a life, it was a mother’s unconditional love,” Joshua Vesey told the court, according to the outlet. “At any point he could have stopped the confusion, the suspicion and the pain that spread through my family.”

Leon Gregory, Weaver’s brother, also emphasized how the case haunted his family for years as they grappled with the possibility of never receiving closure.

“Your Honor, as we all know, it’s been a long 42 years,” Gregory said, according to FOX 13. “My parents, brother, two other sisters, passed on years ago, never knowing who killed Judy.”

Before determining Gaff’s fate, the judge pointed to his history of violence and attempts to cover up the crimes throughout the years as a determining factor in denying the defense’s request that he receive the minimum sentence.

“The defendant’s history consists of sexually motivated, extremely violent crimes against women,” the judge said, FOX 13 reported. “The appropriate sentence has a minimum is the number of years that the families had to wait.”

The Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Revitalize Thigh Strength After 60: 5 Effective Standing Exercises That Outperform Leg Press

Strong thighs play a vital role in maintaining stability, balance, and mobility, especially as you grow older.

Did you know that the muscles in your thighs are the largest in your body? While thigh strength might not seem crucial at first glance, it is fundamental for maintaining stability, balance, and mobility. Robust thighs not only help prevent falls and injuries as you age but also boost your metabolism and help control blood sugar levels.

Ready to enhance your thigh strength? We consulted with experts who recommend five standing exercises that can restore thigh strength more effectively than the leg press for those over 60.

“While the leg press is effective for building muscle, it falls short in developing functional strength,” says Ngo Okafor, a celebrity trainer and Founder and CEO of Iconoclast Fitness. “The main limitation is that the machine provides stabilization for you. In everyday life, no one is there to stabilize you when walking, climbing stairs, getting up from the floor, or preventing a fall. Standing exercises compel your body to operate as a cohesive unit—engaging legs, hips, core, balance, coordination, and posture all at once.”

“The leg press can build muscle, but it has limitations when it comes to functional strength,” explains Ngo Okafor, Celebrity Trainer, Founder + CEO of Iconoclast Fitness. “The biggest issue is that the machine stabilizes your body for you. In real life, nobody is stabilizing you when you walk, climb stairs, get off the floor, or catch yourself from falling. Standing exercises force your body to work as one integrated system—legs, hips, core, balance, coordination, and posture all working together.”

The difference between aging gracefully and aging in a more fragile state comes down to whether someone has maintained sufficient strength in the right movement patterns to be able to do tasks and hobbies that keep them independent, says Terry Tateossian, Founder, Certified Lifestyle Medicine Coach, Trainer, and Nutritionist for Women 40+ at THOR – The House of Rose, who has completed a variety of advanced training to support her work in women’s health and middle-aged weight loss.

“The exercises that hold up the best are ones that train the body to do what it already needs to do—only stronger, steadier, and with more confidence than the day before,” she tells us. “Strong thighs are built through real-life movement. That means standing, stabilizing, and moving the body in a way that real life actually demands.”

Bodyweight Squats

“Squats help strengthen the quads, glutes, and core while improving the ability to sit down and stand up safely,” Okafor says.

  1. Stand tall, feet shoulder-width apart on the floor.
  2. Extend your arms ahead of you or place your hands on your hips.
  3. Bend at the knees and hips as you lower into a squat.
  4. Descend until your thighs are parallel to the floor.
  5. Press through your heels to rise back up to standing.

Step-Ups

“Step-ups mimic climbing stairs and improve single-leg strength and balance,” Okafor notes.

  1. Begin by standing tall, facing a step.
  2. Place your left foot firmly onto the surface, keeping your core engaged and chest tall.
  3. Press through your left heel to lift your body until your left leg is straight and you’re standing on the surface.
  4. Use control to lower back to the start position.
  5. Repeat on the other side.

Stationary Lunges

“Split squats are incredible for restoring stability, mobility, and strength in each leg individually, which becomes increasingly important as we age,” Okafor says.

  1. Stand tall with your feet parallel, hip-distance apart.
  2. Place your hands on your hips.
  3. Step forward with one foot.
  4. Engage your core as you bend your knees, lowering to form 90-degree bends in both legs.
  5. Keep your upper body straight.
  6. Press through your front heel and the ball of your back foot to rise back up.

Farmer’s Carry

“Farmer’s carries strengthen the legs while also challenging posture, grip strength, and core stability—all things that protect us from falls and injury,” Okafor notes.

  1. Hold a dumbbell in each hand at your sides.
  2. Start walking forward, keeping your torso still and maintaining a tall posture.

Dumbbell Romanian Deadlifts

“As we naturally lose muscle throughout our frame, some of the most affected areas are the thighs. Romanian deadlifts help build balanced strength between the quads, glutes and hamstrings,” Tateossian tells us.

  1. Stand tall, feet hip-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand. (If you’re not comfortable working with dumbbells, simply use your body weight.)
  2. Bend your knees slightly and hold the weights in front of your thighs.
  3. Press your hips back as you lower the dumbbells down your leg. Maintain a straight back as you do so.
  4. Squeeze your glutes to return to the start position.

Minneapolis ICE Agent Faces Charges for Alleged Shooting of Undocumented Immigrant

0

On Monday, prosecutors in Minnesota issued a nationwide arrest warrant for a federal immigration officer accused of shooting an undocumented immigrant and subsequently misrepresenting the incident during last winter’s ICE operation in the state.

The officer in question, Christian Castro, 52, faces charges including four counts of second-degree assault with a deadly weapon and one count of falsely reporting a crime. These charges stem from his alleged actions during the shooting of Venezuelan migrant Julio Sosa-Celis amidst a tumultuous protest against ICE in Minneapolis on January 14, according to the Hennepin County District Court.

During the incident, Sosa-Celis suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. Along with two other undocumented immigrants, he was initially detained under the Department of Homeland Security’s assertion that they had incited violence by attacking ICE agents.

At that time, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem issued a statement describing the incident as an attempted murder of a federal officer. She claimed the officer, presumably Castro, had been assaulted by three individuals wielding snow shovels and broom handles, prompting him to discharge his weapon in self-defense.

However, subsequent video evidence contradicted the officer’s account, leading to the dismissal of all charges against the three undocumented immigrants, as reported by the Star Tribune.

Castro was identified as the gunman during an interview at the shooting scene with a representative from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension,  as well as medical records from his subsequent visit to the hospital, the outlet reported.

Sosa-Celis, who illegally entered the country in 2022, was previously arrested for driving without a license and two counts of giving a false name to a peace officer but “released by Minnesota authorities before ICE could even lodge a detainer,” DHS has said.

MAGA Strategist Rebuts Controversial Allegations Involving Nicki Minaj

0

An influential figure in Trump’s circle, known for bridging connections between celebrities and the MAGA movement, is refuting allegations that Nicki Minaj’s support for Donald Trump was motivated by a desire for family pardons.

Alex Bruesewitz, a former Trump campaign aide and notable figure within MAGA circles, recently took a stand against Pop Crave. The media outlet had shared comments from Linda Perry, the lead singer of 4 Non Blondes, who speculated on Minaj’s reasons for backing the former President.

Perry implied that Minaj’s support was driven by personal gain, suggesting she sought favors from the Trump administration.

Bruesewitz vehemently denied these claims, labeling them as a “disgusting and disgraceful smear” propagated by Democrats and critics of Trump. He emphasized that Minaj had never requested anything from Trump and had only extended her support.

He further dismissed the notion that Minaj was seeking a quid pro quo, calling such insinuations “total garbage.”

Bruesewitz sang a similar tune to the Wall Street Journal, which chronicled Minaj’s move from closeted conservative to MAGA mainstay.

A pardon for family members has ‘never been brought up or even referenced by her or anybody,’ he told the paper.

Both Minaj’s brother and husband have been in legal trouble.

Her brother is serving a long prison sentence for child rape.

Her husband has previously served prison time for the attempted rape of a minor, but has more recently been on house arrest and probation.

White House officials pointed out to the Journal that the President’s pardon power wouldn’t extend to the state conviction of Minaj’s brother.

It appears that Minaj has been quietly conservative all along.

Friends told the paper that when Minaj was first starting her rap career, she leaned right.

In her 2012 song Mercy, she rapped: ‘I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney / You lazy b****es is f***ing up the economy.’

A year later, she name-dropped Trump in a song in a positive way, noting that she was ‘at the Trump’ while ‘you b****es at the Radisson.’

Of course, he wouldn’t launch his first presidential bid until two years later.

During the first Trump administration, Minaj joined with other musicians and Hollywood types in condemning some of the administration’s policies, especially the separation of children and parents who crossed the southern border.

But the COVID-19 pandemic changed things.

Minaj got pounced on when she shared a story in 2021 claiming that a friend of her cousin in her native Trinidad had swollen testicles and was suffering from impotence after taking the COVID vaccine.

‘His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding,’ the rapper wrote, telling her fans, nicknamed ‘Barbz,’ to ‘pray on it’ before getting jabbed.

At the time, health ministers in Trinidad said they had received no reports of vaccine-related testicular swelling.

Minaj was accused of pushing COVID conspiracy theories.

In 2024, Minaj was introduced to Bruesewitz by model Amber Rose, the ex-girlfriend of rapper Kanye West, who spoke in support of Trump at the Milwaukee Republican National Convention.

Rose also connected Minaj with James Blair, a top Trump political adviser, who, late in the 2024 election cycle, tried to make the case to the rapper to officially endorse Trump, the Journal reported.

A person familiar with the matter told the paper that the campaign was trying to give black voters a ‘permission structure’ to vote for Trump, and believed endorsements from high-profile figures like Minaj would be a big help.

While Minaj was supportive of the President on the phone with Blair, the Journal said, she told the political operative that she needed to talk to others in her life for advice before going public with her politics.

Shortly before the election, Minaj also dialed Trump.

She wanted to let him know she was supporting his reelection, the Journal said, but her management team told her she needed to stay on the sidelines because an endorsement could impact her business interests.

Tragic Workplace Shooting: Woman Killed by Former Partner Outside Office, Police Report

A tragic incident unfolded in Southern California when a man allegedly ambushed his former partner outside her place of employment, fatally shooting her before escaping the scene. Authorities report that the suspect, Juan Marquez, 47, later left the country but was apprehended upon his return.

Marquez is charged with the murder of Sandra Fernandez, 42, in Tustin, a city neighboring Anaheim. The police were alerted to the shooting on Thursday evening, around 6 p.m., in the vicinity of Yorba Street and Medford Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Fernandez unresponsive on the sidewalk with gunshot injuries, and she was declared deceased by paramedics.

Eyewitnesses recounted seeing a man dressed in black fleeing the area in an older, dark-colored sedan. Through their investigation, authorities identified Marquez as the alleged perpetrator, noting that he had been waiting near Fernandez’s workplace to carry out the attack as she was walking to her vehicle.

Cops responded shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday to a shooting in the area of Yorba Street and Medford Avenue. They found an unresponsive Fernandez on the curb suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced her dead.

Witnesses told cops they saw a man wearing all black fleeing the scene and driving away in a dark-colored, older-model sedan. Investigators identified Marquez as the shooter and said he “laid in wait near Sandra”s workplace.” He allegedly killed her as she walked to her car.

After the shooting, he fled across the U.S.-Mexico border at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, per cops.

Police obtained an arrest warrant on Saturday and U.S. Customs and Border Protection arrested Marquez upon his return to the country. He is now being held in the Orange County Jail without bond.

Authorities have yet to divulge a motive for the shooting. A future court date was not immediately available.

Local CW affiliate KTLA reported Fernandez was a mother of three who was starting a new job and was leaving a training session when she was killed.

“Even though it was just under a month, she already was making good relationships and having a great impact, so this is really a tragedy,” co-worker Cassie Rossel told the outlet.

Her family started a GoFundMe to raise money for a funeral. The fundraiser said her kids were ages 5 and 14, and she also had an adult son who is in college.

“No one deserves to leave there family the way she went. Words won’t describe what our family is feeling and going through right now,” the description said.

Shocking Revelation: Mohamed Salah’s Agent Unveils Explosive Details on Anfield Departure and Future Plans

In the wake of Mohamed Salah’s announcement about departing Liverpool at the season’s end, his agent has released a strongly worded statement.

The 33-year-old star, who has been a central figure at Anfield for nearly a decade, plans to conclude his time with the club in May. This decision comes despite him inking a lucrative two-year contract extension worth £400,000 per week just about a year ago.

Having reached a mutual agreement with Liverpool, Salah will exit the club as a free agent.

Salah’s agent, Abbas, took to the social media platform X to express uncertainty about the player’s future, stating, “We do not know where Mohamed will play next season.”

He further cautioned, “This also means that no one else knows. Beware of the click-whoring attention seekers.”

Daily Mail Sport understands that there could be appetite for clubs keen to make an offer to the Egyptian superstar from across the globe.

Salah was the subject of an audacious £150million bid in summer 2023 from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad, while a number of the team’s rivals will now likely circle the winger ahead of the transfer window.

Amid uncertainty of Salah’s future last season, Salah was also linked to interest from the MLS, while his free-agent status could prove enticing to Liverpool’s European rivals.

‘Hello everyone,’ Salah announced in an emotional video. ‘Unfortunately the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

‘I wanted to start by saying that I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people, would become part of my life.

‘Liverpool is not just a football club. It’s a passion, it’s a history, it’s a spirit I can’t explain in words to anyone not part of this club.

‘We celebrated victory together, we won the most important trophies, and we fought together through the hardest time in our lives.’

Paying tribute to the fans, he added: ‘I don’t have enough words. The support you showed me, through the best time in my career, and the toughest time – it’s something I will never forget. I will take it with me always.

‘Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life. I will always be one of you. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone.’

Liverpool’s statement read: ‘Salah expressed his wish to make this announcement to the supporters at the earliest possible opportunity to provide transparency about his future due to his respect and gratitude for them.

‘With plenty still left to play for this season, Salah is firmly focused on trying to achieve the best possible finish to the campaign for Liverpool and, therefore, the time to fully celebrate his legacy and achievements will follow later in the year when he bids farewell to Anfield.’

Salah leaves the Reds as the third-highest goalscorer in the club’s history, having netted 255 goals in 435 appearances.

As well as winning the Golden Boot four times, and being named PFA Players’ Player of the Year last season to make it his third time winning the award, Salah and his team-mates won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup and two League Cups.

Suspicion had been swirling for some time that this season might prove the Egyptian superstar’s last at the club.

In December, the 33-year-old gave an incendiary interview in which he said he had ‘no relationship’ with head coach Arne Slot, and hinted that he might be moving on after competing at AFCON with Egypt after he was dropped from the manager’s starting XI.

‘I could not believe I was sitting on the bench for 90 minutes,’ he said after he had been an unused substitute against Leeds. ‘That’s the third time. It’s the first time in my career I think.

‘(I am) very disappointed, I have done so much for this club over the years, especially last season. It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That’s how I feel.

‘Someone wants me to get all the blame. The club promised me a lot in summer. Now I’m on bench so I can say they haven’t kept those promises.

‘I used to have a good relationship (with manager Slot). Now we don’t have any relationship and I don’t know why.

‘It seems like someone does not want me in the club.

‘I called my mum and dad and told them to come to the Brighton game. It doesn’t matter if I play or not. I’m going to enjoy it. I’m just going to be at Anfield and say goodbye to the fans before the African Cup of Nations, because I don’t know what is going to happen when I am there.’

Instead, Salah repaired his relationship with his head coach, and will receive a hero’s farewell from fans at the end of the season.
