In a heartfelt joint statement released on Monday, May 18, Cochrane and her family disclosed the decision. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Gracie has made the challenging decision to step away from her role as Ginny Weasley in the HBO Harry Potter series after season one,” they shared with various media outlets.

The statement further expressed Cochrane’s gratitude: “Her time as part of the Harry Potter world has been truly wonderful, and she is deeply grateful to Lucy Bevan and the entire production team for creating such an unforgettable experience. Gracie is very excited about the opportunities her future holds.”

Echoing this sentiment, an HBO spokesperson issued their own statement, saying, “We support Gracie Cochrane and her family’s decision not to return for the next season of HBO’s Harry Potter series, and we are grateful for her work on season one of the show. We wish Gracie and her family the best.”

Shocking: NY Man Arrested for DUI While Collecting Friend from Jail—A Cautionary Tale

0

In a twist of irony, a man who arrived to collect his friend from police custody ended up behind bars himself for driving under the influence in upstate New York.

Antone Gilonna, aged 25, drove into a restricted area of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office parking lot while attempting to pick up his friend, who had just been released following a DWI arrest, according to a statement from the MCSO.

A sheriff’s deputy on the scene quickly became suspicious that Gilonna, the designated driver, was also intoxicated, prompting further investigation.

Subsequent field sobriety tests confirmed the deputy’s suspicions, as Gilonna failed both assessments. Consequently, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated, leaving his friend without a safe ride home.

While the sheriff’s office did not disclose Gilonna’s specific test results, he faces charges for having a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or higher. It’s worth noting that the legal limit for drivers in New York State is 0.04%.

Gilonna was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, regular unlicensed operator, and DWI.

He was released that same day and ordered to appear in Glen Town Court at an unspecified date.

Gilonna previously had his New York State Driver’s license revoked for a prior DWI-related conviction and a chemical test refusal, according to the sheriff’s office.

Gilonna isn’t the first idiotic DWI arrest.

On Halloween, an 18-year-old partier was arrested on a DUI charge while dressed as a prison inmate. The Florida police department that nabbed him teased that he “was already dressed for arrest.”

Another Florida man was arrested in July 2025 for plowing his lawnmower down a busy highway while he was under the influence.

Renowned O.J. Simpson Case Detective Mark Fuhrman Passes Away at 74

0

Mark Fuhrman, the former LAPD detective known for his controversial role in the OJ Simpson trial, has passed away at the age of 74.

According to TMZ, Fuhrman succumbed to an aggressive form of throat cancer, a condition he had been battling for a year.

Back in 1994, Fuhrman was among the first detectives to arrive at the crime scene of the tragic murders of Nicole Brown Simpson, OJ Simpson’s ex-wife, and her friend Ronald Goldman in Los Angeles.

The high-profile case and ensuing trial highlighted deep-seated issues of race and law enforcement in the United States.

During the trial, Fuhrman claimed to have discovered a bloody glove at Simpson’s residence. However, his reliability was heavily scrutinized as the defense questioned his potential racial prejudice.

Attorney F Lee Bailey cross-examined Fuhrman in an attempt to portray him as a racist whose goal was to frame Simpson.

Fuhrman denied using racial epithets, but the defense later turned up recordings of Fuhrman making racist slurs.

That brief recording heard by the jury was taken from 13 hours of interviews between Fuhrman and screenwriter Laura McKinny recorded between 1985 and 1994, with the last tape being made a month after Simpson was charged in his wife’s murder.

Even though Fuhrman remained cool under pressure, and some legal experts called the confrontation a draw, Bailey, recalling the exchange months later, said, ‘That was the day Fuhrman dug his own grave.’

Fuhrman retired from the LAPD after Simpson´s 1995 acquittal.

The former detective was charged with perjury and pleaded no contest in 1996. He went on to become a TV and radio commentator and wrote the book ‘Murder in Brentwood’ about the killings.

He died in Las Vegas of prostate cancer in April 2024 at the age of 76.

In 2024, Fuhrman was barred from law enforcement under a California police reform law meant to strip the badges of police officers who act criminally or with bias.

Fuhrman had been hospitalized for a week prior to his death due to his cancer, TMZ reported.

While he had gone through some treatment, he eventually chose to stop. No funeral will be held.

Fuhrman was one of the first two police detectives sent to investigate the 1994 killings of Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman in Los Angeles

Fuhrman, who in addition to the glove also found the blood on and in Simpson’s Ford Bronco, was listed as a police witness by the prosecution in a form submitted to Judge Ito before the start of the trial.

He had been the first to arrive at Simpson’s home the night of the murders because he was familiar with the property, having been there in 1985 while responding to a report of domestic abuse made by Nicole against her then husband.

Witnesses who were members of the police force were listed on a spousal conflict form and Captain York was required to review the list and sign off on the fact that she did not have a relationship with any members of the LAPD who would appear at trial.

Questions then arose how she could not remember Fuhrman given the fact that he spoke so angrily about her on the tapes.

The prosecution called for Judge Ito to recuse himself believing he could not be fair given this new development, while the defense argued against that.

That request was later withdrawn by the prosecution, and Judge Ito decided to stay on the case after he asked another judge to make a ruling on whether or not he believed his wife was now a relevant witness given statements made by Fuhrman in the tapes.

Superior Court Judge John Reid said York was not relevant to the case after listening to the tapes, and the trial resumed soon after.

The day after the tapes were played for the jury, Fuhrman once again took the witness stand and said to every question asked by the defense; ‘I wish to assert my 5th Amendment privilege.’

He even gave that response to the last question asked by the defense as to whether or not he planted evidence at Simpson’s home.

The jury was not present for Fuhrman’s testimony.

McKinny also testified in the Simpson case without the jury present to determine if the tapes she recorded would be used at trial.

It was revealed around this time that she had completed her screenplay based on her interviews with Fuhrman, for a film she had decided to call Men Against Women.

Fuhrman’s actions and behavior were a key part of Johnnie Cochran’s closing argument, where the lawyer suggested that the detective planted the glove at Simpson’s home and described him as a ‘lying, perjuring, genocidal racist.’

He even compared Fuhrman’s actions to those of Hitler at one point in his speech.

The jury ultimately found Simpson not guilty, and on July 5, 1996 Fuhrman was charged with perjury for lying about his use of racial slurs on the stand.

He pleaded no contest to the charges in October of that year and received three-years probation, making him the only person involved in the Simpson case to be convicted on any charges.

Fuhrman retired from the LAPD soon after the tapes emerged, and after accepting his plea on perjury charges sat down for his first interview with Diane Sawyer, who brought up everything from his racist comments to his collection of Nazi World War II memorabilia.

He said in that interview that he had not told a ‘willful lie’ on the stand, claiming; ‘I never remembered those tapes. I was trying to do a screenplay. It was a misplaced effort and I did it the wrong way. I’m sorry for that.’

He also defended his collection of German war artifacts from World Wart II by saying they were ‘not swastikas.’

And when it came to his use of the n-word he told Sawyer; ‘It shouldn’t be used. And I’m sorry to be the one to bring it to the forefront in such a grossly insensitive way.

‘I’m doing the one thing that I can – I can do. You know, I’m apologizing from the bottom of my heart for creating pain where pain wasn’t necessary.

‘I don’t know what else to do. If it’s not believed, I can’t make somebody believe me. That’s all I can do.’

He also told Sawyer that he does not think he had anything to do With Simpson being cleared of all charges in the case.

‘I was a lamb. I was an excuse. I was a reason the jury latched on to so they could feel good about themselves. They sat down knowing they were never going to convict that man,’ said Fuhrman.

Fuhrman developed a second act as a true crime writer and became a frequent pundit on Fox News.

In his book about the OJ case, he apologized for using racial slurs, said that he believed Simpson should have been arrested earlier by LAPD and accuses the prosecution of having abandoned him at trial after the release of the tapes.

He also accuses his colleagues, but not himself, of making multiple mistakes while investigating the case.

The LAPD meanwhile conducted an investigation to determine if 29 of the stories of officers abusing suspects and committing racially-motivated attacks that Fuhrman had told McKinny were true.

In the end no proof could be found that 17 of the incidents ever even occurred, and investigations into the other 12 did not find any concrete proof of misconduct.

Mark Fuhrman, who once served as a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department and played a pivotal part in the O.J. Simpson murder trial of 1995, has passed away at 74.

Lynette Acebedo, the Chief Deputy Coroner from Kootenai County, Idaho, confirmed Fuhrman’s passing to Fox News on Monday. NBC4 reported that he had died the previous week.

According to TMZ, Fuhrman’s death came after he fought a severe form of throat cancer.

In the infamous trial regarding the deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, Fuhrman’s involvement became significant when he found a bloody glove on Simpson’s property at Rockingham.

During the trial for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, Fuhrman became a key figure after discovering a bloody glove at Simpson’s Rockingham estate.

Prosecutors said the item matched a glove found at the scene where the two victims were murdered.

His involvement in the trial later led to significant controversy and damaged his credibility after audio recordings surfaced in which he used racial slurs, including the N-word.

Despite previously denying such conduct under oath, the defense argued that the tapes raised questions about his credibility and whether evidence in the case had been properly handled.

The defense also used the recordings to suggest that Fuhrman may have planted the bloody glove to frame Simpson.

Fuhrman was accused of lying on the witness stand and was convicted of perjury in 1996, making him the only person associated with the case to be convicted of a crime related to the trial.

After retiring from the LAPD in 1995, he remained in the public eye as a true crime author and a talk radio host.

Moody Wendy’s Targeted: Police Probe Burglary and Arson Attempt

0

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Moody Police Department is actively investigating an incident involving an attempted break-in and arson at a local Wendy’s restaurant early Monday morning.

Authorities reported that a call came in shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Monday, alerting them to a suspected burglary at the Wendy’s located on Village Drive. Upon arrival, officers observed shattered glass at the main entrance and detected a strong smell of what seemed to be a liquid accelerant inside the premises.

The Moody Police Department released a statement indicating that “two distinct areas within the establishment were targeted in an arson attempt.” With the help of the Moody Fire Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), investigators confirmed that fires had been intentionally set in these areas.

As of Monday evening, no suspects had been apprehended in connection with the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Moody Police Department at 205-640-0347.

Concerns Arise Over Republican Senator’s Health Amid Key Reelection Campaign

0

Rising apprehension surrounds a Republican senator embroiled in a reelection campaign after she appeared in an interview exhibiting a noticeable tremor.

Senator Susan Collins of Maine, aged 73, spoke with Fox News while actively campaigning for November’s Senate race against Democratic challenger Graham Platner.

During the interview, Collins was questioned about whether her opponent leaned too far left. As she responded, viewers observed her visibly shaking.

She confidently stated, “I trust that Maine voters will reach that conclusion, but I certainly don’t take anything for granted.”

The video, shared on X, sparked concern regarding Collins’ well-being among the public, as she has been serving since 1997.

One person commented: ‘She doesn’t sound or look good here at all. Noticeable difference from years past.’

Journalist Ken Klippenstein added: ‘Have you asked why she’s constantly shaking (including in this interview)? And if not, why not?.’

Another said: ‘Why is she shaking uncontrollably? Why aren’t you asking about her health? Is it preventing her from doing her job? Why is she shaking?’

Collins was asked if her counterpart was too far to left, and as the interviewer quizzed her she could be seen shaking on the spot

She sparked concerns for her health earlier this week after a re-election campaign advert from February went viral.

Collins is seen unboxing a pair of sneakers in the video, her hands trembling as she opens the package, head twitching and voice quavering.

‘This is perfect for 2026 because I’m…running,’ Collins says shakily as she holds up one of the sneakers.

Collins’ shaking is not new and has been discussed following previous appearances dating back to at least 2019.

US Senators have six-year terms but there are no federal term limits, meaning they can continue seeking re-election indefinitely.

Trump turned on Collins after her Venezuela war powers vote in January, urging voters to oust her and saying she ‘should never be elected to office again.’

Republicans are defending 22 Senate seats in November as they fight to protect Trump’s 53-47 majority.

Platner suggested that if he defeats Collins in the midterms but the Democrats fail to take control of the Senate, he’ll be ‘arrested.’

He has faced outrage from both sides of the aisle over a Nazi-linked tattoo he claimed he got while drunk, as well as controversial Reddit posts.

Platner is now the presumptive Democrat nominee after Governor Janet Mills dropped out of the race.

At a town hall Saturday, he said that as part of a minority Democrat party, he would join protests and picket lines and expected to find himself in handcuffs.

‘If we don’t get the majority and things continue to get worse, I will promise you that I’m going to be arrested as a United States senator,’ he said.

The candidate was wearing a sweater that said the words ‘neat,’ referring to the style of drink with no ice, a common phrase used by anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement protesters.

Platner – who has campaigned on being pro-LGBTQ, Medicare for All and ending foreign wars – promised ‘an element of activism’ regardless of whether or not Democrats take the Senate, The Midcoast Villager reported.

However, should Democrats pull off an upset and take back the Senate, he plans to bog down Donald Trump by making his entire administration testify before Congress.

Latto Welcomes First Child with 21 Savage: A New Chapter Begins

0

Latto, affectionately known as Big Mama, has some exciting news to share.

The rapper, whose real name is Alyssa Michelle Stephens, recently welcomed her first child with fellow artist 21 Savage. She announced the joyous occasion on Instagram this Monday, giving fans a glimpse into her personal journey to motherhood.

In a heartfelt video shared on her Instagram, Latto documented her pregnancy journey, weaving in intimate moments spent with 21 Savage, offering a rare look into their shared anticipation and joy.

The video culminated with the powerful and emotional audio of Latto in labor, capturing the moment she brought her baby into the world as those around her offered encouragement and support.

Latto first revealed her pregnancy back in March, cleverly tying the announcement into the rollout of her album, aptly titled “Big Mama.” She proudly showcased her growing baby bump in the music video for her track “Business & Personal,” giving fans a creative blend of her personal and professional life.

At the time, she hadn’t confirmed who the father was, but multiple hints implied that it was Savage’s, including one shot that showed his tattooed hand on her bare belly.

Additionally, Latto flipped through a scrapbook that appeared to feature the 33-year-old’s baby photos.

She also displayed a tattoo of her own in the video — a dagger on her lower back matching the one on Savage’s forehead.

Latto also has her rumored partner’s name tatted behind her ear.

Reps for Latto and Savage did not respond to Page Six’s requests for comment at the time.

However, the Grammy nominee did not tag Savage in her Instagram post about her little one on the way.

When she was on the cover of Paper magazine later that same month, cradling her stomach, Savage shared the image to his Instagram Story.

“Big Mama Not the Little 1,” he captioned the social media upload.

Savage is already a father, having welcomed sons Kamari and Ashaad with his rumored wife, Keyanna Joseph.

He also has a daughter named Rhian.

Savage has been romantically linked to Latto since 2020.

The duo, however, has kept their alleged romance out of the spotlight — although Latto did refer to Savage as her “husband” while chatting with TMZ in 2025.

While Savage’s marital status to Joseph remains unclear, she “liked” Latto’s pregnancy post via Instagram in March.

Journalists Express Relief Over CEO’s Death Following Incident Outside Mangione Hearing

0

A group of three self-described journalists, who are also ardent supporters of Luigi Mangione, the alleged killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, have once again expressed their backing for the accused.

Ashley Rojas, an independent writer on Substack, did not hold back her feelings when she told the Daily News outside Mangione’s evidence suppression hearing in Manhattan, “I’m saying forget Brian Thompson. I couldn’t care less that he died.” Thompson was the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, and Mangione is currently on trial for his murder, which took place in December 2024. Read more here.

Rojas was joined by fellow supporters, Lena Weissbrot and Abril Rios, who are also part of the group claiming allegiance to Mangione, referring to themselves as ‘Mangionistas’.

Weissbrot echoed similar sentiments, adding, “I liked it,” in reference to the incident, and continued with equally provocative remarks.

She went on to say, “His children are better off without him. They should learn not to emulate their father. And enjoy the blood money, kids!”

News reporter Molly Crane-Newman filmed the interaction.

Rojas and Weissbrot were both seen holding official press credentials awarded by Mayor Zohran Mamadani’s office and the New York Supreme Court.

‘We’re a trio,’ Rojas told the News at a point.

Weissbrot maintained the late father-of-two ‘was responsible for more deaths than Osama bin Laden’ because of his work.

The words  ‘Delay, Deny, Defend’ were found scrawled on the bullets, in apparent reference to criticism UnitedHealthcare has faced for purported hesitance to pay claims.

‘And I remember Americans celebrating when Osama bin Laden was killed,’ Weissbrot continued.

‘Our government and these health insurance companies, they’re literally stealing our money and using it to kill us.

‘Like, come on – the American people need to stand up for themselves.

‘It’s about time. It’s beyond time.’

Rojas then introduced Rios, who used the murder to stress the importance of the Second Amendment.

‘I mean, why do we protect the Second Amendment so much? Is it to allow people to shoot up schools? Or is to protect democracy.’

Weissbrot interrupted: ‘It is to kill tyrants!’

Rios continued: ‘I’m not saying we should all take up arms, but when your democracy has eroded and there are no other options, what are we meant to do?’

Weissbrot added that ‘most average Americans support Mangione’ and are ‘fed up with being exploited and treated like cattle’ by health insurance corporations.

Moments earlier, Judge Gregory Carro ruled a notebook that police found in Mangione’s backpack during his arrest can be introduced at trial.

Prosecutors will also be allowed to present the 9mm ‘ghost gun’ – the alleged murder weapon they say he used to kill Thompson – as evidence.

Other items recovered during his arrest will not go before the jury, after officers conducted an ‘improper, warrantless search’ of Mangione’s backpack at the Pennsylvania McDonald’s where he was cuffed.

His trial is still slated for October.

Trump Reveals Gulf Nations’ Plea Prevented New Iran Strike: Insights and Implications

0

IN BRIEF

  • Trump said the US was planning to attack Iran “tomorrow”.
  • US authorities had refused to release “even 25 percent” of Iran’s frozen assets, Iranian media reported.

In a recent statement, President Donald Trump announced a pause on plans to resume military action against Iran, as the country continues to reject his calls to end the ongoing conflict. The announcement came on Tuesday, AEST.

President Trump revealed that he decided to delay the attack after requests from Gulf Arab allies. These allies have faced threats of retaliatory strikes from Iran if the United States and Israel resume their offensive, thereby ending a ceasefire that has lasted nearly six weeks.

Although Trump had previously extended the truce indefinitely, signaling a desire to withdraw from a politically challenging conflict, he had also indicated that preparations were underway for a new attack on Tuesday.

According to a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated that leaders from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates urged him to postpone the planned military action against Iran. They cited ongoing “serious negotiations” as a reason for the delay.

Trump expressed that these Gulf nations were optimistic about forging an agreement that would satisfy both the United States and the Middle East. Such an agreement, he emphasized, would ensure “NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS FOR IRAN!”

Trump threatens ‘large-scale assault’ on Iran if deal not reached

But Trump said he had instructed the US military to be “prepared to go forward with a full, large scale assault of Iran, on a moment’s notice, in the event that an acceptable Deal is not reached.”

Iran has repeatedly rebuffed Trump’s offers on a deal and has exerted control over the Strait of Hormuz, the vital waterway into the Gulf, sending global oil prices spiralling.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei confirmed exchanges with the United States through mediator Pakistan and said Iran made clear its “concerns.”

The country, whose supreme leader was killed in the initial US-Israeli strikes on 28 February but has proven resilient, is demanding the release of Iranian assets frozen abroad and the lifting of long-standing sanctions.

Baqaei said Iran was also demanding reparations for the “illegal and baseless” war and was “fully prepared for any eventuality” if the United States resumes military action.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, considered a moderate in a system increasingly dominated since the war by the Revolutionary Guards, said that speaking with Washington in search of a deal was not to be viewed negatively.

“Dialogue does not mean surrender. The Islamic Republic of Iran enters into dialogue with dignity, authority, and the preservation of the nation’s rights, and will under no circumstances retreat from the legal rights of the people and the country,” he wrote on X.

On Sunday, Iran’s Fars news agency said the US had presented a five-point list, which included a demand for Iran to keep only one nuclear site in operation and transfer its stockpile of highly enriched uranium to the United States.

US authorities had refused to release “even 25 percent” of Iran’s frozen assets or pay any reparations for war damage, Fars said.

But Iran’s Tasnim news agency, citing an unnamed source close to the Iranian negotiating team, said on Monday that the United States made one new step forward in the latest text by agreeing to waive oil sanctions during a negotiation period.
