Boxing Icon Unveils Surprising Reasons for Declining High-Profile TV Show Offers

Renowned boxing star Amir Khan disclosed that he declined participation in two prominent television programs after receiving invitations from BBC executives.

The 38-year-old athlete, who made an appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2017, was considered for both Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity MasterChef last year. Nevertheless, he opted not to accept either opportunity.

Speaking to Betway, Khan mentioned, “I’ve been approached to join Strictly Come Dancing, so that might be something I’d consider.”

He further elaborated, “Recently, I was also invited to take part in Celebrity MasterChef, but I couldn’t fit the filming into my schedule this year.”

Khan expressed that he remains open to participating in these shows in the future, provided the timing aligns with his commitments.

He explained: ‘There are a lot of shows but it’s hard to get the time.’

He also admitted that he enjoys taking part in television shows because they allow people to see the ‘real him’.

However, Amir emphasized that he is selective and will only participate in ‘top shows’.

Despite his willingness to appear on more programs, the boxer isn’t desperate for the paycheck.

In December, Amir, who currently resides in Dubai, shared that he had bought yet another luxurious property, posting on Instagram: ‘God is great – another property added to my portfolio. Suffer, invest, profit.’

He added: ‘All my investments are cash paid. Never been in debt.’

Last year, Amir also splashed out over £130,000 on a new G-Wagon for his wife, Faryal Makhdoom, after being embroiled in yet another sexting scandal.

MailOnline revealed last year that Amir and Faryal had reportedly separated and were living apart after he was caught sexting another woman.

Their marriage, which has spanned a decade and produced three children, appeared to be on the rocks after Amir approached bridal model Sumaira online and asked her to send explicit pictures.

At the time, it was reported that Amir and Faryal were splitting their time between their homes in Dubai and Britain while Faryal decided whether to end their marriage.

A source close to the Khan family told MailOnline at the time: ‘Faryal is taking time to think about whether or not to walk away.’

They added: ‘She’s going through a very difficult time and choosing to focus on her children while she and Amir continue to co-parent.’

MailOnline contacted Amir’s representatives at the time for comment.

Political Turmoil: Starmer Gains Allies Amid Mandelson-Epstein Scandal Shakeup

LONDON – On Sunday, key figures in the Cabinet expressed their support for U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, whose leadership is under scrutiny following his controversial decision to appoint Peter Mandelson as Britain’s ambassador to the United States. Mandelson, a politician with a checkered past and connections to Jeffrey Epstein, has become the center of a political storm.

Starmer is set to defend his position in Parliament on Monday after it was shockingly revealed that Mandelson was assigned the prestigious diplomatic role despite not passing security checks.

The Prime Minister has expressed his anger, stating that he was unaware that a thorough vetting process in January 2025 had advised against granting Mandelson security clearance. Nevertheless, the Foreign Office, responsible for diplomatic appointments, proceeded with the clearance.

Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy asserted that had Starmer been informed of the concerns, “he would never, ever have appointed him ambassador.”

Speaking to Sky News on Sunday, Technology Secretary Liz Kendall defended Starmer, emphasizing his integrity and stating that he would not have moved forward with Mandelson’s appointment if he had been aware of the security issues.

The top civil servant in the Foreign Office, Olly Robbins, was forced to resign on Thursday — though allies say he was just doing his job and is being made a scapegoat. Robbins is expected to give his own version of events to the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday.

Simon McDonald, who was top civil servant in the Foreign Office until 2020, said Robbins had been “thrown under the bus.” He told the BBC that vetting information was highly sensitive and “would never be shared” with the prime minister or his staff.

All the main opposition parties have called on Starmer to resign. Right-of-center Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch said the prime minister’s position is “untenable.” Ed Davey, leader of the opposition Liberal Democrats, said Sunday that the government is “in perpetual crisis, and I don’t think they can get out of that unless Keir Starmer moves aside.”

Starmer’s Labour Party holds a large parliamentary majority, so power to topple him lies with his own lawmakers, who are already glum about the party’s dire poll ratings.

Starmer defused a potential crisis in February, when some Labour lawmakers called for him to resign over the Mandelson appointment. But he could face a leadership challenge after local and regional elections on May 7, in which Labour is expected to do badly.

Some Labour lawmakers think it would be damaging to change leaders at a time of global instability, with wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, and with three years until a national election must be called.

Others despair at the prime minister’s repeated missteps since he led Labour to a landslide election victory in July 2024. Starmer has struggled to deliver promised economic growth, repair tattered public services and ease the cost of living, and has been forced into repeated policy U-turns.

Critics say the Mandelson appointment reveals the prime minister’s lack of judgment. Documents released by the government in March, after being forced to by Parliament, showed Starmer was warned by his staff that Mandelson’s friendship with Epstein, who died in prison in 2019, exposed the government to “reputational risk.”

But his expertise as a former European Union trade chief and contacts among global elites were considered assets in dealing with President Donald Trump’s administration.

He lasted less than nine months in the job. Starmer fired Mandelson in September 2025 after evidence emerged that he had lied about the extent of his links to Epstein.

The release of millions of pages of Epstein-related documents by the U.S. Department of Justice in January brought more revelations, showing that Mandelson’s relationship with the financier continued even after Epstein’s conviction in 2008 for sexual offenses involving a minor.

Emails also suggested Mandelson had passed on sensitive, and potentially market-moving, government information to Epstein in 2009 after the global financial crisis.

British police launched a criminal probe and arrested Mandelson Feb. 23 on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

He has been released without bail conditions as the police investigation continues. Mandelson has previously denied wrongdoing and hasn’t been charged. He does not face allegations of sexual misconduct.

Australia Commits to Ensuring Strait of Hormuz Openness Pending Agreement

Australia is gearing up to join a significant peacekeeping mission aimed at safeguarding the Strait of Hormuz, contingent on the finalization of an agreement.

Negotiations regarding the specifics of this operation are slated to take place later this week in London, with potential for additional military involvement.

Defense Minister Richard Marles stated that Australia is collaborating with international allies, including the UK, France, and the US, though he declined to speculate on the precise nature of Australia’s contribution.

“At this point, there hasn’t been a formal request for specific Australian resources. However, we are prepared to offer support,” Marles remarked during an interview on ABC’s Insiders.

He emphasized the importance of the Strait of Hormuz to Australia, noting, “It is crucial for us that the strait remains open and that the global fuel supply chain operates smoothly.”

Maintaining law on international waters will be an international effort and differ from traditional peacekeeping missions.

The opposition is already on board.

“We need to inject ourselves into this dispute and make sure that there’s the safe navigation of those tankers,” former Nationals leader David Littleproud said.

But a truce seems tricky to obtain and what that truce looks like is impossible to predict.

A 49-nation alliance led by Britain and France is preparing a peacekeeping mission.

“This really matters for all countries because this is impacting each and every one of our countries,” UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said.

Defence Minister Richard Marles said: “The Strait of Hormuz are significant to Australia, highly significant and we want to see them open. Obviously we will help.” (Alex Ellinghausen)

Australia and China are among them but America is not.

Liberal Senator Jonno Duniam said Iran could not be allowed to hold the rest of the world to random.

“If a request is made I would think it is in our interest to support any plan to open the straight of Hormuz.,” he said.

That request will be discussed at a meeting in London this week.

With Australia’s E7 Wedgetail early warning and surveillance aircraft already in the region, extending that deployment to monitor the straits is the most likely outcome

“We have a very significant platform which is currently in the region – which right now is being optimised for the defence of the states of the gulf,” Marles said.

The first opening of the strait saw the price of oil drop suddenly.

The hope is that a permanent opening will eventually see prices drop permanently as well but that is no guarantee.

Minister for Defence Industry Pat Conroy said it was a challenging period.

“If the conflict continues it will be more challenging, that’s way we are working hard with our international partners,” he told Sky News Sunday Agenda.

Everything You Need to Know About ‘Euphoria’ Season 3, Episode 2: Release Date, Plot Details & Star-Studded Cast

After a long wait, the third season of Euphoria has finally arrived, stirring up quite a bit of controversy, albeit not for the reasons its creators might have hoped. The show has taken the spotlight with its surprisingly low score on Rotten Tomatoes, a mere 42 percent and still declining.

Nevertheless, this hasn’t deterred the show’s loyal followers, who are eager to continue watching until the very end. The captivating performances by stars like Zendaya, who consistently delivers, and Sydney Sweeney, who remains a hot topic of discussion, keep fans engaged.

As you prepare for the second episode, here’s a handy guide from Watch With Us to help you navigate the new season.

The conclusion of Euphoria‘s second season left viewers on the edge of their seats, filled with more questions than answers. Throughout the season, the plot seemed to foreshadow a grim fate for Fez, played by Angus Cloud. However, in a surprising twist, it was actually his younger brother who met a tragic end after a betrayal led to a police raid. This unexpected turn has set the stage for a season of intense drama and emotional turmoil.

Euphoria‘s season 2 finale introduced many twists and turns that ended with the audience having more questions than answers. The season 3 premiere caught us up with the lives of our core cast five years on from the season 2 finale. Nate (Jacob Elordi) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) are engaged to be married, but it’s a rocky relationship. Nate has taken over his father’s real estate business, but it’s struggling. Cassie makes sexually suggestive videos on TikTok while striving for some revenue streams of her own to fund her massive flower arrangement bill for their wedding. She confronts Nate with a plan he doesn’t take too kindly to — starting an OnlyFans.

Rue (Zendaya) works for Laurie (Martha Kelly) to pay off her $10,000 debt that’s grown in interest. Accompanied by Faye (Chloe Cherry), Rue acts as a drug mule smuggling narcotics across the Mexican border in occasionally stomach-churning ways. Meanwhile, Lexi (Maude Apatow) is an assistant for a powerful movie executive named Patty Lance (Sharon Stone), which keeps her in proximity to Maddy (Alexa Demie), who works at a talent agency wrangling big-name stars like teen heartthrob Dylan Reid (Homer Gere). Jules (Hunter Schafer) doesn’t make an appearance in this episode, but Lexi informs Rue that she’s now a kept girlfriend of a wealthy older man.

The episode concludes with Rue rubbing elbows with some dangerous figures in the LA criminal underworld during a drug delivery, and it’s here that she realizes she wants to get into the strip club business alongside drug kingpin Alamo Brown (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). When a woman at Alamo’s house party overdoses on the drugs Rue brought, it puts a target on Rue’s back that she manages to just barely escape. It also sets up a trade of sorts between Alamo and Laurie.

Sydney Sweeney in Euphoria season 3

This month, the season 3 premiere of Euphoria finally debuts on HBO and HBO Max after a too-long five-year hiatus. If you still haven’t caught up on the provocative, highly memeable show, you’ve still got time to binge all sixteen of its provocative episodes. For the uninformed, the HBO show follows the teenagers at East […]

What’s Going to Happen in ‘Euphoria’ Season 3, Episode 2?

If we can make a guess, we’re likely going to get a taste of Jules’ high life as a sugar baby, while tensions progress between Cassie and Nate over their disagreements in wedding finances and Cassie’s proposed money-making scheme (maybe they get married in episode 2?). In the trailer for the weeks ahead, it’s made explicit that Alamo wants to take Rue from Laurie and put her into business with him as penance for Laurie’s drugs causing an overdose in one of his girlfriends — a body for a body, as he explains.

We can only assume that Laurie will ultimately want to get her revenge on Alamo and Rue, which will certainly be interesting. However, Lexi and Maddy’s storylines were something of an afterthought in the premiere, so we hope that their Hollywood striving makes a bigger splash as the season progresses.

Is There a Trailer for ‘Euphoria’ Season 3, Episode 2?

While there’s no episode-specific trailer, there is a “this season on trailer that offers a brief look at what’s to come for all of season 3. You can watch it above.

Father of Celeste Rivas Speaks Out Following D4vd’s Arrest in Daughter’s Tragic Murder Case

0

The devastated father of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, whose body was tragically discovered in the trunk of a Tesla owned by singer D4vd, has spoken out following the artist’s arrest. “Thank God, justice for Celeste,” he told TMZ, expressing relief at the development.

The father, Jesus Rivas, shared his brief remarks after David Burke, known professionally as D4vd, was detained by the Los Angeles Police Department on Thursday. Burke is currently being held without bail on murder charges.

The arrest comes several months after the grim discovery of Celeste’s remains in the front trunk of a Tesla, which had been towed to a Hollywood impound lot. Authorities confirmed that the vehicle was registered to the 21-year-old musician.

Earlier this year, Burke was officially identified as a suspect in Celeste’s murder, according to documents released from grand jury proceedings in Los Angeles County.

Sources close to the investigation revealed that Celeste Rivas was believed to have been romantically involved with Burke at the time of her untimely death, as indicated by statements from her friends and family.

The girl’s family said she was last seen in spring 2024, when ran away from her Lake Elsinore home at age 13.

Rivas’s mother, who reported her missing three different times throughout 2024, has said her daughter was dating a guy she never met named ‘David’. It’s also been reported that the two shared matching ‘Sshhh’ tattoos on their right index fingers.

Friends of D4vd told TMZ that the two were ‘frequently’ seen together. They also believed he and Rivas were romantically involved.

Rivas’s dismembered remains were discovered on September 8, 2025, when workers at Hollywood Tow called police to report a stench coming from a Tesla on their lot. Her head and torso were found in a plastic bag, police said.

The vehicle was registered to D4vd’s address in Texas, police said. According to investigators, the car had been abandoned on a public street for more than 72 hours, leading to it being impounded.

Neighbors said the Tesla was moved several times over the preceding three months before it was left on Bluebird Avenue in the Hollywood Hills.

Rivas was found a day after what would have been her 15th birthday, but authorities believe she likely died much earlier, with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office saying the remains were ‘severely decomposed.’

Based on that, the medical examiner determined Rivas had been deceased in the vehicle for ‘an extended period of time’.

She was wearing black leggings, a tube top, a yellow metal chain bracelet and stud earrings, according to the medical examiner.

After D4vd’s arrest, his legal team released a statement saying that he did not murder Rivas and that he did not cause her death. His lawyers also pointed out that the grand jury has not returned an indictment.

‘David has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence,’ his lawyers said.

The case will be presented on Monday to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, which will make the final charging decision.

The grand jury investigation into D4vd began in mid-November. Jurors were presented evidence by prosecutors and relevant individuals were called testify, including D4vd’s managers and friend, Neo Langston.

And in September, police obtained a search warrant for a home Burke had been staying at in the Hollywood Hills, where they seized a computer, according to ABC News.

Police have not disclosed details about what they may have found on the computer.

After Rivas’s death, the lyrics of D4vd’s songs were the subject of much scrutiny due to their violent nature.

In one of his most popular singles, ‘Romantic Homicide’, he sings about a love interest of his no longer being around.

‘In the back of my mind, I killed you… And I didn’t even regret it… I can’t believe I said it… But it’s true… I hate you,’ were the final words of the 2022 song.

D4vd rose to fame that same year after a string of viral TikTok hits.

His popularity led to collaborations with stars such as SZA and Kali Uchis.  When Hernandez’s body was discovered, D4vd was on a tour, which was later canceled.

Chris Packham Discloses Significant Financial Setback in Recent Statement

Chris Packham, known for his role as a presenter on “Springwatch,” has candidly shared that his commitment to “environmental justice” has come with significant financial sacrifices. The BBC personality revealed his drive to work every day stems from a desire to support causes he’s passionate about, even if it has led to substantial financial setbacks.

In a conversation with The I, Packham explained that he often funds conservation efforts from his own earnings. “I work to earn money so I can finance the causes I believe in,” he stated. “I’ve experienced significant financial losses in doing so. While some people support aspects of my work, much of it is personally funded, including numerous conservation campaigns.”

Packham expressed that while others might prioritize material possessions like cars and vacations, he finds value in advocating for change and making an impact through his activism.

Recently, Packham faced a hefty financial burden when he had to pay £200,000 to a pensioner following a legal dispute. The issue arose after Packham was awarded £90,000 in a defamation case in 2023, where he had been falsely accused of misleading the public about donations to a tiger rescue charity.

Despite winning the damages, Packham was criticized for allegedly pursuing the article’s proofreader “vindictively” through the courts, resulting in him being held responsible for legal costs exceeding twice the amount he was awarded.

The judge at the time ruled Chris had not committed any fraud, but said the proofreader, Paul Read, “had no editorial or equivalent responsibility” and dismissed the case against him.

Dr Ruth Tingay, a friend and colleague of Chris’s, set up a crowdfunding pot to raise money for his legal costs which reached an epic £140,315.

Dine Distraction-Free: Why Restaurants Are Saying No to Phones at the Table

0

An increasing number of eateries and bars are encouraging patrons to put away their mobile devices—some even suggest locking them up—as part of a campaign to enhance the dining experience.

This initiative is gaining popularity throughout the United States, with venues experimenting with various approaches such as implementing restrictions, offering incentives, or providing locked pouches, as reported by Fox News Digital.

For instance, Antagonist, a cocktail bar in Charlotte, secures patrons’ phones in locked pouches for roughly two hours. Meanwhile, Delilah, a high-end supper club with multiple locations nationwide, enforces a strict no-phones, no-social-media policy, according to Axios.

Even fast-food chain Chick-fil-A has trialed this concept, with a branch in Maryland providing free ice cream to families who keep their phones away from the dining table.

This trend is particularly prevalent in exclusive venues such as listening bars, supper clubs, cocktail lounges, and restaurants with tasting menus, noted Ben Tannenbaum, vice president of partnerships at the New York-based nightlife company LineLeap.

“The driver isn’t really an anti-phone sentiment,” he told Fox News Digital. “It’s that guests are going out less often than they used to and spending more per visit when they do, so operators are trying to make sure the visit delivers.”

The trend has been building for years, experts say, and it’s picked up steam as more people recognize the downsides of constant screen time.

“The phone-free dining trend began prior to COVID, but it’s increased in momentum in recent years, especially as people have come to understand the negative impacts of overuse of personal devices,” Amanda Belarmino, a hospitality professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, told Fox News Digital.

She said unplugged meals can help diners stay focused on both their food and companions, adding it may even be financially savvy for restaurants.

“Diners who are engaged in the experience are more likely to eat multiple courses or order a second drink,” she said.

They’re also more likely to enjoy their food if it hasn’t gotten cold while they’re busy snapping photos or reading other diners’ reviews before forming their own opinions, Belarmino noted.

Beyond business considerations, experts agree the movement reflects a return to long-standing social norms around dining.

Being present while dining with others is a “timeless principle,” according to New York etiquette expert Nick Leighton.

“When your phone’s out, it’s sending the signal that whoever is with you at that moment isn’t as important as what’s on the phone,” Leighton told Fox News Digital.

Others say the trend is being driven by the mental strain of always being connected.

“The push behind phone-free dining is cognitive overload,” said Dr. Vinay Saranga, a psychiatrist and founder of The North Carolina Institute of Advanced NeuroHealth.

“Phone-free dining offers a form of psychological relief that will foster meaningful connection again and allow us to focus on the present moment.”

But enforcing phone-free policies can come with trade-offs.

“Enforcement is, at best, awkward in practice,” Tannenbaum said. “Pouches, signage and servers asking guests to put phones away all introduce friction that can undercut the experience the policy was trying to create.”

He does not expect phone-free dining to become the norm everywhere and predicts it will last as a sub-category, not as an industry-wide shift.

Chicago Crime Update: Two Teens Charged in Citywide Burglary and ATM Theft Spree from Logan Square to Lincoln Park and Little Village

0

In Chicago, surveillance footage caught suspects breaking into a local business, marking another incident in a recent crime spree.

Authorities have charged two teenagers in connection with this break-in, along with several others citywide.

The suspects, whose identities remain undisclosed due to their status as minors, are believed to have targeted multiple sites last Friday. Within roughly two hours, they reportedly burglarized at least four different locations.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

Police describe the duo as part of a group focusing on businesses from Logan Square to Lincoln Park, with a particular interest in stealing ATMs. One of the incidents was captured by a security camera.

Close to 3:30 a.m., the footage reveals individuals shattering a window, then entering the premises with masks on and heading directly for the ATM.

After several failed lifts, they got the machine through the window with the help of a third person before getting away.

It happened early Friday morning at The Double Urban Tavern on West Fullerton Avenue in Logan Square.

Police say their getaway vehicle was seen an hour later at a Lincoln Park business, where four suspects also broke in and stole an ATM.

And an hour after that break-in, investigators say the suspects committed another burglary at a Little Village business before getting away with an ATM and a cash register.

After tracking them down, police say they were able to arrest a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, who they say, participated in the crimes. They were both charged with three counts of burglary and one misdemeanor count of Criminal Trespass to a Vehicle.

A search warrant at a home then led detectives to find the damaged, stolen ATMs, as well as money, a cash register and seven guns. Three of the guns were fully-automatic. Burglary tools and vehicle reprogramming devices were also recovered at the home.

Police say 18-year-old Avion Moore, who lives at the home where the weapons were recovered, was also arrested and faces multiple felony weapons charges.

An investigation into more suspects involved in the burglary crew is ongoing.
