Shedeur Sanders is embracing the fresh atmosphere and invigorating spirit introduced by the new Browns head coach, Todd Monken, and his team during the initial practice of the squad’s three-day voluntary veteran minicamp.

Selected as the 144th pick in the previous year’s draft, Sanders took to the field on Tuesday, sharing team drill responsibilities with Deshaun Watson, according to ESPN.

This season marks Monken’s debut as the head coach in Cleveland, taking over from Kevin Stefanski in the offseason.

“Coach Monken and the entire coaching staff are fantastic,” Sanders remarked to the media on Tuesday. “They understand and connect with you personally, driving you to excel in meetings, on the field, and in the gym. It’s an invigorating new vibe and energy.”

Sanders concluded the 2025 season as the starting quarterback, achieving a 3-4 record in the leading role as the season unfolded.

He’ll have plenty of competition this upcoming season with Watson back after not playing in 2025 and Dillon Gabriel, who started six games last season as a rookie after being taken in the third round. 

Sanders, the son of NFL legend and Colorado football coach Deion Sanders, was working out in Cleveland for most of the offseason and creating a connection with Monken. 

“I think coach just spoke life into me,” Sanders said. “And then when you do that, you just get the best result for me, honestly.” 

Sanders completed 120 passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions in his first taste of pro football, helping the Browns to wins over the Bengals, Steelers and Raiders. 

Cleveland finished the 2025 season with a 5-12 record.

In a recent development, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) along with Mayor Brandon Johnson, stood by their decision to enhance security by replacing unarmed guards with more sworn police officers. This move has sparked debate among city officials.

The Chicago City Council Black Caucus expressed dissatisfaction with the decision, indicating a divergence in opinions on the matter.

Beyond the fresh coat of paint at the 51st Green Line station, the CTA is implementing several upgrades to bolster safety measures.

Terry Angsten, a regular CTA commuter, shared his perspective, stating, “I support the change. It’s unfortunate for those affected, but given recent incidents, armed officers seem necessary. I also believe dogs play a crucial role in ensuring security.”

Another rider, Casey W., echoed similar sentiments, expressing approval: “I’m pleased with the increase in police presence for our protection. It’s reassuring.”

The transit agency is ending its contract with unarmed security guards and replacing them with armed Chicago police officers and Cook County sheriff’s deputies, a move riders say is the right one.

“I think that security with CTA is not readily available to handle crime that is going on,” said CTA rider Kathy.

“I think it’s great,” rider Jenny Hohmeier said. “It would make me feel much safer.”

About 250 full-time employees who served as private security abruptly lost their jobs on Friday evening.

“That contract, in long established mutually agreed upon terms, would expire when all the funds were used, and that is what occurred. That was a long tern understanding between the parties,” said acting CTA President Nora Leershen.

The move to end contracts with private security comes as the CTA is increasing armed law enforcement by 75%. It is part of a new security plan to satisfy the Trump administration. Last year, the president threatened to withhold federal funding if crime and security were not addressed.

“You’re going to see uniformed officers across the system in a targeted, data-informed way that’s driven by feedback from our riders, from our employees,” Leershen said.

But the city council’s Black caucus says ending private security means putting more than 70 Black officers out of work with less than a week’s notice.

In a statement, caucus chair Ald. Stephanie Coleman said, “While we recognize the CTA’s need to comply with federal safety mandates, we find it unacceptable that the ‘Security Enhancement Plan’ comes at the direct expense of Black-owned businesses and workers.”

When asked directly about Coleman’s concerns, the mayor deferred to the CTA. When pressed again, the Johnson answered by saying safety is the city’s top priority.

“We are going to continue to make sure that we are moving with expediency to create a safe accessible reliable affordable transits system. We are going to do that in an equitable way,” Johnson said.

In the meantime, while the CTA is boosting security, the transit agency has been without a permanent head for over one year. When asked about that, the mayor declined to say when he will name someone.

A prominent advocate for unveiling UFO secrets has intriguingly linked an ancient biblical scripture to the possibility of extraterrestrial beings.

Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna recently took to X to share two enigmatic messages: one urging followers to explore the “Book of Enoch,” and another featuring an image of the 15th-century artwork known as the “Madonna of the UFO.”

These remarks come as the latest instance of the House Oversight Committee chairwoman’s references to the Book of Enoch during her dialogues about aliens and unidentified flying objects.

The Book of Enoch, an ancient Jewish religious manuscript composed between 300 and 100 BC, is attributed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. Despite its historical significance, it remains contentious and is not included in the standard Bible editions used by most Jewish, Protestant, or Catholic traditions.

Central to Enoch’s narrative is the “Book of the Watchers,” which tells of angels descending to Earth, interbreeding with human women, and producing a race of giants before the great flood from which Noah’s Ark emerged unscathed.

Luna, who has also been appointed as chairwoman of the House Oversight Committee tasked with declassifying government secrets, has repeatedly claimed that this book was removed from the modern Bible to suppress information regarding ancient sightings of supernatural beings.

Just 16 minutes after posting about the Book of Enoch on Saturday, Luna posted an image of the painting Madonna and Child with the Infant St John, also known as the Madonna of the UFO, with no caption, sending conspiracy theorists wild with speculation about what Luna has learned during her UFO investigation.

The painting, credited to Domenico Ghirlandaio, depicts the Virgin Mary in prayer with the infant Jesus. In the background is a disk-shaped object with rays emanating from it, which some have interpreted as a UFO sighting.

Minutes before posted the image of the painting, Luna wrote that people should read the Book of Enoch, which she has referenced while discussing UFOs previously

‘The truth is in plain sight!’ one person replied to Luna’s post.

‘Ancient Astronaut Theory will someday become Ancient Astronaut History,’ another person added.

The congresswoman has spoken publicly about the many meetings she has had with US military officials who have briefed her committee on the possible existence of life on other worlds and non-humans visiting Earth.

Those classified briefings caused Luna to draw a stunning connection between events in biblical times and visitations by what she called ‘interdimensional beings,’ which defied the laws of physics and were able to move outside of space and time.

Last year, Luna told podcast host Joe Rogan: ‘Have I seen a spaceship personally? No. Have I seen evidence of this? Yes. Have I seen photo documentation of aircraft that I believe were not made by mankind? Yes. Is there historical significance to this? Yes.’

‘Is there multiple events that go back to, I would argue, maybe even before the time of Christ, that have been documented in text? Yes,’ she continued during the August 2025 episode.

Luna would go on to state on multiple podcast interviews that she believed it was important to read the Book of Enoch to gain context on modern UFO theories, suggesting that people may have misinterpreted these beings thousands of years ago as angels.

She described the text as information that had been ‘gatekept’ by modern religious orders and highlighted the Ethiopian Orthodox version as the least altered copy of this controversial text.

In November, Luna discussed new footage of a UFO with Patrick Bet-David of the Valuetainment Podcast, where she made the case that the video was evidence of other intelligent creatures besides humans who exist in this universe.

‘I do think that it proves with this footage that if this is not foreign governments, if this is not created by us, then it does confirm what the Bible talks about of there being other creations.’

The Book of Enoch is said to expand on certain portions of the Bible. Specifically, Genesis 6:1-4, which mentions ‘sons of God’ taking human wives and producing a long-lost race of giants known as the Nephilim.

Approximately 200 of these angels, also called Watchers, were said to have also taught humans about forbidden knowledge, such as weapon-making, sorcery and astrology.

The Book of Enoch has been excluded from most canons since the fourth century AD due to debates over its authorship, theology and content.

Despite pressure from the White House for full disclosure of what the US government knows regarding UFOs and extraterrestrials, Luna claimed the Pentagon has been continuing to cover up key evidence of UFO encounters.

She penned a letter to the US Secretary of War on April 1, ordering Pete Hegseth to deliver 46 specific clips no later than April 14, 2026, but the Pentagon missed the deadline.

The requested footage included dozens of military-recorded encounters showing spherical, cigar-shaped and Tic Tac-like objects spotted over war zones, oceans and sensitive airspace around the world.

In a shocking incident at the Teotihuacán pyramids in Mexico, a gunman opened fire on Monday, leaving a trail of injuries among tourists. Six Americans were reported among those wounded in this unexpected assault at one of the country’s renowned tourist spots.

Authorities have identified the gunman as Julio César Jasso Ramírez. According to official reports, Ramírez had previously visited the pyramids multiple times, allegedly to survey the area for planning his attack. This premeditated reconnaissance underscores the calculated nature of his violent actions.

The attack resulted in the tragic death of a Canadian tourist, while 13 others sustained injuries. This includes visitors from a diverse array of countries, highlighting the international impact of the incident.

Besides the American tourists, those injured also hail from Russia, Brazil, the Netherlands, and Canada, according to the authorities. The incident has sent shockwaves through the global community, raising concerns about security in tourist destinations.

Among the others injured are six people from the U.S. and others from Russia, Brazil, the Netherlands and Canada, officials said.

Law enforcement in the region received initial reports of the shooting at 11:20 a.m. Monday. The National Guard quickly responded, and officials said the gunman took his own life at 11:45 a.m.

One tour guide who witnessed the shooting told The Associated Press the gunman fired upward.

“Some people, because they were scared … threw themselves face-down on the ground, and the rest of us started to go down,” the tour guide said.

During a news conference Tuesday, Mexican officials said they found “literature, images and handwritten manuscripts, all allegedly related to violent events known to have occurred in the United States in April 1999” in the gunman’s backpack, referring to the Columbine High School shooting from April 20, 1999.

Officials said the gunman was carrying 52 live rounds of .38 special caliber ammunition inside a plastic bag and a knife.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum addressed the shooting in a social media post Monday.

“What happened today in Teotihuacán deeply pains us. I express my most sincere solidarity with the affected individuals and their families,” she wrote. “Yesterday’s attack highlights the urgent need to strengthen our security protocols.”

José Luis Cervantes Martínez, the attorney general of the state of Mexico, said investigators built a “psychopathic profile” of the gunman, which was “characterized by a tendency to copy situations that occurred in other places, at other times and involving other figures.”

The Teotihuacán archaeological site will be closed until further notice after the shooting, the National Institute of Anthropology and History said in an announcement.
