The Masked Singer has been given the green light for a 15th season by FOX, but viewers should brace themselves for some significant changes when the celebrity singing show makes its return. The upcoming season will mirror season 14, which saw the familiar faces of host Nick Cannon and panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora.
The previous season, The Masked Singer season 14, concluded with Ashlee Simpson Ross, disguised as Galaxy Girl, taking the crown. Hot on her heels was Phillip Phillips, who performed as Pugcasso. Kylie Cantrall, known as Cat Witch, claimed third place, while Normani, competing as Crane, landed in fourth. Kylie introduced a novel element to the competition as America’s Insider, a role that disclosed her identity to the audience prior to the season’s debut, allowing her to provide exclusive behind-the-scenes insights as the episodes aired.
As reported by Deadline, FOX has slated the premiere of The Masked Singer season 15 for mid-season in the 2026-2027 broadcast timeline. This announcement comes after a surprising move in 2025 when the show opted out of its traditional fall slot for the first time since its inception. Back in May 2025, FOX CEO Rob Wade mentioned that it wasn’t the network’s intention to limit the series to a single season per year. However, for 2026, the show will once more skip a fall season.
The Masked Singer Will Continue To Have Only One Season Per Year
According to Deadline, FOX has renewed The Masked Singer for season 15, which will premiere mid-season in the 2026-2027 broadcast season. Fans were shocked in 2025 when the show skipped its fall season for the first time since its premiere. In May 2025, FOX CEO Rob Wade stated that the network didn’t intend for The Masked Singer to continue to have only one season per year, but this isn’t the case for 2026 because it’s once again skipping its fall season.
The Masked Singer Will Have A New Production Company
Deadline also reported that The Masked Singer has changed production companies. Eureka Productions, which is owned by Fremantle, will now produce the show, rather than FOX Entertainment Studios. This is the second time that production for the show has changed since its 2019 premiere. Season 1 was produced by Endemol Shine North America, but, in season 2, then-named FOX Alternative Entertainment took over. Eureka Productions has worked with FOX on The Floor, The Quiz with Balls, and Farmer Wants a Wife.
The Masked Singer Will Most Likely Move To The East Coast
Since The Masked Singer season 1, the series has filmed in Los Angeles, but Deadline revealed that Eureka Productions wants to move the show to the East Coast, specifically New Jersey. The move has financial motives, as New Jersey offers production tax incentives of 30% on qualified expenses with up to 40% on certain studio projects. In addition, unlike California and other states, New Jersey accepts unscripted in its tax incentive scheme.
Deadline also shared that FOX insiders pointed out that an East Coast move could bring more performers working in New York, including Broadway, to the Masked Singer stage. However, it’s unclear if the move will have any effect on the cast, including host Nick and panelists Robin, Jenny, Ken, and Rita.
The Masked Singer is one of FOX’s most beloved series, so it’s fantastic news that it’s been renewed for season 15. Although there will be a lot of adjustments for the show, nothing can change what’s at the heart of it: a fun guessing game that allows celebrities the freedom to perform behind masks and share who they really are in the process. The move out of California will now open the door for some East Coast stars to join the competition. Hopefully, the move won’t affect the host and panelists because they’re the best on TV. Whatever happens next, The Masked Singer season 15 is certain to be epic.
