Surprising Plan to Transform Spirit Airlines Drives $88 Million Surge

0

The story began as a lighthearted jest: a voice actor humorously suggesting on TikTok that they start a crowdfunding campaign to purchase the now-defunct Spirit Airlines. Surprisingly, within days, the initiative amassed over $88 million in pledges.

On May 2, Spirit Airlines officially ceased operations, a casualty of persistent financial struggles exacerbated by escalating fuel costs linked to the ongoing conflict with Iran. The airline’s closure marked the end of a tumultuous journey, as financial pressures proved insurmountable.

“Sustaining the business required hundreds of millions of additional dollars of liquidity that Spirit simply does not have and could not procure. This is tremendously disappointing and not the outcome any of us wanted,” stated Dave Davis, President and CEO of Spirit Airlines, in a heartfelt announcement.

As flights came to a halt and customer service lines faded to silence, the humorous crowdfunding proposal gained unexpected momentum, capturing the public’s imagination.

Hunter Peterson, the voice actor behind the viral campaign, garnered millions of views with his playful idea to “nationalize Spirit Airlines. Owned by the people. We make a new airline.” What started as a tongue-in-cheek suggestion quickly evolved into a widespread movement.

Peterson soon launched letsbuyspiritair.com, pitching it as a grassroots effort to  reclaim Spirit Airlines before private equity could snap up its remains – modeled loosely on the Green Bay Packers, which are owned by hundreds of thousands of fans through a unique public shareholding structure rather than a single owner.

The pledge allows interested patrons to pledge a share into the proposed ownership of Spirit Airlines, focusing on interest rather than a non-binding pledge.

At the time of writing, so many donators have flocked to the website, that the site crashed, with a message stating: ‘We are upgrading infrastructure right now and will be back with full pledge functionality within 24-48 hours.’

It started out as a joke: A voice actor taking to TikTok with the idea of crowdfunding with the goal of buying the now-defunct Spirit Airlines. Days later, the campaign has grossed over $88 million in pledges

At the time of the pre-crash, the website had garnered $88 million in pledges, with an average pledge size of $667. The minimum pledge was $45, modeled off the average price of a one-way Spirit ticket.

And around 124,755 individuals expressed interest in the buyback plan.

A day after the site went up, Peterson posted again saying he was ‘genuinely crashing out’ after seeing that his site had drawn $2,314,752 million from 4,817 founding patrons with an average pledge of $481.

In addition to the website, Peterson created an Instagram account, Spirit Airlines 2.0., which has ballooned to 187,000 followers.

It’s not the first time Peterson has referenced the airline on his social media. In 2025, he posted a YouTube video doing a challenge where he flies on Spirit for 24 hours straight to get a sense of the low-cost carrier and how it operates in its busiest airports.

The video gained 94,000 views and Peterson revealed that the total of seven trips cost him a mere $675.

In the wake of his successful campaign, users flocked to the video to hail him as the future CEO, with one writing: ‘So we’re buying an airline?’

Though the campaign has garnered a hefty amount of support, experts tell the Daily Mail that it’s unlikely to be successful.

Retail strategist Carol Spieckerman called the campaign ‘viral performance art,’ noting the math falls far short of making a real acquisition possible.

‘They’ve raised roughly $23-26 million in non-binding pledges against an estimated acquisition cost of $1.7 billion.

‘That’s 1.5 percent of what they’d need. Even if the pledges were binding – which they’re not – and even if every pledge actually converted to cash, which they won’t, this isn’t a realistic path to ownership,’ Spieckerman said.

Spirit had desperately tried in their final hours to broker a deal with the Trump administration, but the $500 million lifeline they were hoping to secure failed.

She also noted that the Green Bay Packers comparison ‘falls apart immediately’ as its community-based model is grandfathered un under NFL rules that ‘explicitly prohibit it for any other team’.

As Spirit Airlines is already in formal liquidation, its assets are set to be distributed by a bankruptcy court to repay creditors – complicating any outside effort to acquire the airline.

Even so, the sums touted, if real Spieckerman noted, so far fall well short of what would likely be needed.

Earlier this year, a Louisiana-based investor group, NewP3, proposed a $1 billion recapitalization plan for Spirit – an effort that ultimately failed to materialize.

Beyond funding, regulatory barriers loom large, with federal certification alone taking years and tens of millions of dollars before operations could even begin.

Spirit’s existing certification cannot simply be transferred without regulatory approval and creditor consent.

However, Spieckerman noted that the campaign tapped into something real: frustration. Specifically with private equity ‘stripping assets, anger about consolidation in the airline industry and a desire for community ownership’.

‘That’s something worth paying attention to, even if this specific effort goes nowhere,’ Spieckerman said.

Alleged Shooting Near White House: Child Hurt Amid Secret Service Incident

0

In a dramatic incident on Monday, U.S. Secret Service officers shot an armed individual near the White House, as confirmed by a federal source acquainted with the situation. The confrontation took place at the intersection of 15th Street and Independence Avenue, slightly more than half a mile from the iconic residence and within proximity to the Washington Monument.

According to details provided to Fox News Digital, Secret Service Uniformed Division officers were compelled to engage with the suspect after the person brandished a firearm. This prompted a swift response to neutralize the potential threat.

During a subsequent press briefing, Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn revealed that a juvenile bystander was inadvertently struck by the suspect. Fortunately, the child’s injuries are not life-threatening, and they are currently receiving medical attention at a local hospital, Quinn assured.

The scene unfolded against the backdrop of the White House, with the Washington Monument visible as a somber reminder of the incident’s proximity to national landmarks. (Matt Rourke/AP)

Quinn said the confrontation began after trained surveillance personnel spotted a “visual print” of a weapon.

“My understanding is they observed a print,” Quinn said. “These are trained surveillance detection personnel out there looking every day to look for just that… and they observed a visual print of a firearm.”

“Upon making contact, that individual fled briefly on foot, withdrew a firearm and fired in the direction of our agents and officers,” Quinn said. “They returned fire and engaged.”

When asked if the suspect was targeting President Trump in light of the recent attack at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Quinn said he would not speculate.

“I can’t say—I’m not going to guess on that,” Quinn said. “I can tell you that every time, we’re patrolling this area. In every site, we do 24/7, hardcore, whether or not it was directed to the president or not, I don’t know. But we will find out.”

The suspect was believed to be alive and taken to a hospital, the source said. The situation appeared to be quickly contained, with no immediate indication of a broader threat, they said.

The Secret Service said in a post on X that one individual was shot by law enforcement. The Metropolitan Police Department said it is on the scene investigating and that the area has been secured.

Authorities urged the public to avoid the area as road closures were expected to last for several hours.

Revitalize Your Arms After 60: 5 Standing Exercises to Banish Jiggle Faster Than Gym Machines

If you’re noticing that your arms have become a bit softer and less toned, especially after hitting 60, you’re certainly not alone. Many people experience this, particularly in the triceps area at the back of the arms. This change often occurs gradually as those specific muscles receive less targeted exercise and overall activity levels decline, leading to that familiar “jiggly” sensation.

As a coach, I can tell you that regaining firmness in your arms requires consistent effort and targeted exercises. By regularly engaging these muscles, you can enhance their strength and responsiveness, making everyday tasks such as pushing, pulling, and carrying feel easier and more efficient. The key isn’t necessarily in doing more exercises but in doing them with intentionality and regularity.

While gym machines can certainly be beneficial, they are by no means the only option for achieving firmer arms. Many individuals have successfully improved their arm tone using resistance bands and simple bodyweight exercises. When you perform each movement with control and focus on the muscles at work, the cumulative tension can be surprisingly effective. By maintaining this disciplined approach, you’ll likely see your arms transform and become more defined over time.

From a coaching standpoint, bringing that firmness back comes down to giving those muscles a reason to work again and sticking with it long enough to see a change. When arms are trained consistently, they start to feel tighter, more responsive, and more capable during everyday tasks like pushing, pulling, and carrying. It’s not about doing more, it’s about doing it often enough and with some intention behind each rep.

Gym machines can help, but they’re not the only way to get there. I’ve had plenty of people make real progress using resistance bands and simple bodyweight movements. When you stay controlled and actually focus on the muscle doing the work, that tension adds up quickly. Keep showing up with that approach, and your arms will start to respond.

Resistance Band Overhead Press

This movement engages your shoulders and triceps simultaneously, making it a solid option for building upper-arm strength. The band increases resistance as you press, so your muscles stay engaged from start to finish. When you keep your reps steady and avoid rushing, you’ll feel your shoulders and triceps working together instead of just moving the band overhead. It also gives you a bit of feedback on the way down, so you can’t just let the weight drop and move on. Stay patient with it, and you’ll start to feel your shoulders wake up pretty quickly.

Muscles Trained: Shoulders, triceps

How to Do It:

  1. Stand in the center of a resistance band with your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Hold the handles at shoulder height with your palms facing forward.
  3. Brace your core and press your hands overhead.
  4. Extend your arms fully at the top.
  5. Lower back down with control.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 10 to 12 reps. Rest for 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Single-arm presses, staggered stance presses, slower tempo reps

Form Tip: Keep your ribs down and avoid leaning back while pressing.

Band Pull-Aparts

Pull-aparts train the back of your shoulders and upper back, which helps support better arm function overall. When these muscles are active, your shoulders sit in a stronger position, and your arms tend to feel more connected during other movements. Keeping the reps controlled helps make sure the work stays in the right place. A lot of people rush these and barely feel anything, but when you slow it down, it hits right away. Think about spreading the band apart intentionally instead of just going through the motions.

Muscles Trained: Rear delts, upper back

How to Do It:

  1. Hold a resistance band in front of you at shoulder height.
  2. Keep your arms straight with a slight bend in your elbows.
  3. Pull the band apart by moving your arms out to your sides.
  4. Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the end.
  5. Return to the starting position with control.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 12 to 15 reps. Rest for 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Underhand grip, diagonal pull-aparts, paused reps

Form Tip: Keep your shoulders down and avoid shrugging.

Chair Dips

Chair dips place direct tension on the triceps, which is where most of that arm jiggle tends to show up. Your bodyweight provides enough resistance to challenge your muscles, especially when you lower yourself with control. Staying steady through each rep keeps your focus on your triceps rather than letting your shoulders take over. This one can feel tough pretty quickly, and that’s a good thing as long as you stay in control. If it feels too much, shorten the range a bit and build from there.

Muscles Trained: Triceps, shoulders

How to Do It:

  1. Place your hands on the edge of a sturdy chair behind you.
  2. Extend your legs out in front of you.
  3. Lower your body by bending your elbows.
  4. Keep your elbows pointing back as you descend.
  5. Press through your hands to return to the starting position.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 12 reps. Rest for 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Bent-knee dips, feet elevated dips, slower tempo dips

Form Tip: Keep your shoulders close to your hands instead of drifting forward.

Band Curls

Band curls keep your biceps working through the entire movement. The resistance builds as you lift, which keeps the muscle engaged from bottom to top. When you stay controlled and avoid swinging, the movement becomes much more effective, and you’ll feel your arms working right away. It’s easy to let momentum take over here, especially as you get tired, so stay honest with your reps. You’ll get more out of fewer clean reps than a bunch of rushed ones.

Muscles Trained: Biceps, forearms

How to Do It:

  1. Stand on the middle of a resistance band with your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Hold the handles or ends of the band at your sides.
  3. Curl your hands toward your shoulders.
  4. Squeeze your biceps at the top.
  5. Lower back down with control.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 12 to 15 reps. Rest for 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Alternating curls, hammer grip curls, tempo curls

Form Tip: Keep your elbows close to your sides throughout.

Wall Push-Ups

Wall push-ups give you a simple way to train your upper body while staying upright. Your chest, shoulders, and triceps all contribute, helping build strength throughout the entire upper body. Adjusting your foot position or slowing your reps keeps the movement challenging as you get stronger. This is one of those exercises that gets better the more attention you give it. Step your feet back a bit more over time, and you’ll feel the difference right away.

Muscles Trained: Chest, shoulders, triceps

How to Do It:

  1. Stand facing a wall with your feet a step or two back.
  2. Place your hands on the wall at shoulder height.
  3. Bend your elbows and lower your chest toward the wall.
  4. Keep your body in a straight line.
  5. Press back to the starting position.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 10 to 15 reps. Rest for 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Incline push-ups, staggered hand position, slower tempo reps

Form Tip: Keep your body straight and avoid letting your hips sag.

A Few Things That Make a Big Difference

This part tends to get overlooked, but it’s where the results actually start to show up. The exercises themselves matter, but how often you do them and how you move through each rep carry more weight over time. Keeping things simple and repeatable makes it easier to stay consistent, and that’s what drives change.

  • Stay consistent across the week: A few sessions spread out give your muscles enough repetition to adapt.
  • Slow your reps down: Control keeps the tension where it needs to be.
  • Use band resistance that challenges you: The last few reps should feel like work.
  • Pay attention to posture: Staying tall helps your arms do the job instead of shifting the load.
  • Keep moving throughout the day: General activity supports strength and overall body composition.

Former Personal Chef of Stefon Diggs Shares Emotional Account of Alleged Assault Incident

0

In a tense courtroom scene, Stefon Diggs’ former personal chef, Jamila Adams, tearfully recounted an alleged assault by the ex-Patriots star at his luxurious mansion. The assault trial for the wide receiver commenced on Monday.

Adams, who served as Diggs’ live-in chef at his Dedham, Massachusetts residence from July to December 2025, disclosed that their relationship had a personal dimension before her employment, earning $2,000 weekly.

“It’s complicated,” Adams described their relationship.

She elaborated, “We started as friends, it turned sexual, and we would meet up and spend time together. Eventually, we agreed I would begin working for him in February 2025,” she testified.

Adams recounted that on December 2, 2025 — the day of the alleged incident — she sent a text to Diggs from her bedroom, expressing her frustration over not being included in his trip to Miami for the Art Basel event.

She testified that she and Diggs’ girlfriend Cardi B had been coordinating the outfits they were going to wear to the art show.

At one point in the text exchange, Diggs called her “b—hes,” she claimed.

A “very angry” Diggs eventually opened her bedroom door and burst inside, she recounted.

“What was all that s–t you was talking?” she said he asked her before allegedly unleashing his attack.

“He smacked me with an open hand,” Adams testified before beginning to cry and taking a moment to compose herself.

Adams tried to block him with a defensive move she saw on social media but Diggs menacingly responded: “That sh-t is not going to work,” she claimed.

“He took his arm and he came around my neck with his elbow … and he began to choke me,” she said through tears.

He then pulled her hair and finally let her go, before saying: “Yeah, I thought so,” she claimed, according to a report by NBC Boston.

The assault was so frightening that she wet her pants, she testified.

Adams said her relationship with Diggs started to become strained in November when he confronted her, accusing her of spreading the rumor that he was sleeping with another staffer, Lindsay, according to a report by TMZ.

This fight was the reason Diggs wouldn’t allow her to go to Art Basel, she told the jury.

Days after, Adams tried to make nice with Diggs, texting him: “Really sorry, Stef.”

She claimed this was all to make sure she could collect her last paycheck.

“I needed to be nice to Stefon in order to get my pay to leave,” she said.

During opening arguments, Diggs’ lawyer, Andrew Kettlewell claimed Adams cooked up her claims, including by crafting text messages to help support her allegations when she told the police. And the lawyer said there was no physical evidence to support the charges.

Diggs — who played for the Patriots for one season in 2025 and is now a free agent — has pleaded not guilty.

Los Angeles Democrats Push for Groundbreaking Policy Allowing Foreign Nationals to Vote in City Elections

Democratic members of the Los Angeles City Council are contemplating a groundbreaking move to allow non-citizens, including undocumented immigrants, to participate in city elections.

Councilman Hugo Soto-Martinez (D) has introduced a proposal that would present voters with the opportunity in the upcoming November election to decide whether the Los Angeles City charter should be revised. This amendment would enable the council to consider permitting foreign nationals to vote in local elections.

“The proposal simply asks if we should amend the city charter to allow future discussions on this topic,” Soto-Martinez explained to the media.

Before reaching the ballot, the proposal must navigate through the council’s rule committee and then gain approval from the entire city council. Only with the council’s green light would it appear on the November ballot for voters to decide.

This initiative mirrors efforts by Democrats in New York City, who have pursued similar changes to include foreign nationals, including undocumented immigrants, in their local elections.

Last year, the State of New York Court of Appeals ruled that the plan is unconstitutional because the New York state constitution “makes clear what our case law has long held: Article II, section 1 restricts voting to citizens.”

The Night Agent’ Concludes with Season 4 on Netflix, Promising a Thrilling Finale

Netflix has revealed that The Night Agent will conclude with its fourth and final season.

Production for this upcoming season, featuring Gabriel Basso in the lead role, is already underway in Los Angeles, according to the streaming giant.

Shawn Ryan, the series creator, executive producer, and showrunner, has promised audiences a satisfying and exciting finale.

“From the moment The Night Agent found its audience, I have been determined to craft a compelling and fitting conclusion for the series and for Peter Sutherland’s odyssey,” Ryan expressed in a statement. “I am incredibly thankful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for their collaboration on The Night Agent, allowing us to provide a conclusive final chapter for our global fans. We are fully committed to crafting a memorable and impactful final season.”

The popular show follows Basso’s character, Peter Sutherland, a low-ranking FBI agent who becomes entangled in a vast conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of the U.S. government.

The series recently returned with its third season, which saw Peter hunt down a young Treasury Agent who fled to Istanbul with sensitive government intel. The mission helps him uncover a dark money network that puts him in the path of a relentless journalist.

Details regarding The Night Agent Season 4 are still being kept under wraps. But it will likely be another globe-trotting adventure as Peter grapples with the stakes of his line of work.

“He’s definitely flawed. He doesn’t always make the right decision,” Ryan told Netflix’s Tudum of Basso’s character. “Peter desperately wants to do the right thing, wants the best for the most people, but the line of work he’s in demands that you don’t always get to choose between right and wrong — sometimes you have to choose between wrong and bigger wrong.”

The Night Agent Season 3 premiered in February, when it quickly landed in the the Netflix Top 10. The streamer reports the new season had 5.2 million views, putting the show at No. 3 of the Top 10 U.S. Series list.

The show has long ranked in the streamer’s Top 10 lists, where it spent 17 weeks after its premiere in 2023.

The Night Agent Season 1 through 3 are streaming now on Netflix.

The Undeniable Benefits of Incorporating This Essential Item into Your Home

0

Embarking on the journey of homeownership for the first time is like enrolling in an intensive crash course on a myriad of unexpected topics.

All of a sudden, you find yourself diving into Google searches about everything from water pressure intricacies to the best roofing materials. Amidst this whirlwind of learning, it dawns on you: your home needs to be more than just aesthetically pleasing—it must be safe, too.

One of the most eye-opening moments for me occurred during the home inspection process. It was then that I discovered the non-negotiable necessity of having fully operational smoke detectors. Without these crucial devices, obtaining a Certificate of Continued Occupancy (CCO) is impossible. No CCO means no keys to your new abode. Simple as that.

To address this, my husband and I opted for the X-Sense Wireless Interconnected Smoke and CO Alarm. This choice has significantly enhanced our home’s safety, intelligence, and, ultimately, our peace of mind, which is truly invaluable.

In fact, our decision proved its worth within the first month of settling into our new home. A minor kitchen fire, far from the idyllic “newlywed bliss” I had imagined, put our nerves to the test. What began as a simple cooking error quickly spiraled into a heart-pounding emergency. Fortunately, we managed to extinguish the flames, but the real takeaway was the swift response of our smoke detectors. They immediately sounded the alarm, and within mere minutes, the fire department arrived to assist.

That moment changed everything. We went from “we should probably check our detectors” to “we need to level up our entire fire safety game.”

A three pack of fire alarms.
Home Depot

Pros:

  • Easy to install
  • Affordable price point
  • Doesn’t look too bulky when installed

Cons:

  • Not the most high-tech of all smart home devices in terms of “extras,” but straightforward and savvy

What makes this system stand out is right there in the name: wireless interconnected. Instead of standalone alarms that only scream in one room (leaving you to play a high-stakes game of “where’s that noise coming from?”), these detectors communicate with each other. If one goes off, they all go off.

Whether you’re in the basement, the garage or binge-watching TV upstairs, you’ll know immediately if something’s wrong.

My review

Hand holding a white circular smoke detector with a digital display.

Installation was refreshingly simple and didn’t require an electrician or any complicated wiring. Instead, it’s fully DIY, and my husband set up one in each bedroom within minutes. Soon enough, they were all synced together. For someone who still occasionally struggles with assembling furniture, this felt like a major win.

And here’s where my husband’s profession comes into play. As an architect, he lives and breathes building codes. Recently, he pointed out that it’s becoming increasingly important — to have a smoke detector in every bedroom, not just hallways or common areas. Every. Single. Room.

At first, I thought that sounded excessive. Now? It feels like the bare minimum.

We have a guest room and a home office that we’re hoping will one day transform into a nursery. That future might still be a little ways off, but the idea of being unprepared isn’t something I’m willing to entertain. With the X-Sense system, adding more detectors is incredibly easy, so we’ve been steadily expanding coverage throughout the house.

A white smoke detector mounted on a white ceiling.

We even installed one in the garage, because, let’s be honest, that’s where a lot of unpredictable things happen. Between tools, storage and the occasional “I’ll just fix this real quick” project, it felt like a no-brainer.

Another standout? The brand also offers a radon detector, which is something I hadn’t seriously considered before owning a home. If you have a basement (we don’t), radon is one of those invisible risks that can linger behind the scenes without any obvious signs. Having a seamless way to monitor that alongside smoke and carbon monoxide just makes sense. It’s like building a quiet safety net around your home — one that you hopefully never need, but are endlessly grateful for.

Smoke detector on a light blue wall.

This all-in-one system is reliable, easy to maintain and doesn’t require constant tinkering or second-guessing. Once it’s in place, you can trust it to do its job.

And after experiencing how quickly things can go sideways (hello, kitchen fire), that trust is everything.

Is it worth it?

Homeownership comes with a long list of responsibilities — some fun, some tedious, and some absolutely essential. Fire safety firmly falls into that last category. Whether you’re trying to secure your CCO, protect your family or just sleep a little better at night, investing in a solid alarm system like X-Sense is absolutely foundational.

Truly, at the end of the day, a house isn’t just about aesthetics or square footage. It’s about feeling safe inside it. And with the right tools in place, that feeling becomes a whole lot easier to hold onto.

Death Valley Celebrates ‘Star Wars’ Filming Legacy on May 4th

0

Fans eager to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe this May the 4th need not venture beyond our planet. Death Valley National Park, which holds a special place in cinematic history, is where several iconic scenes from the beloved saga were brought to life.

Recently, the park’s Instagram account paid homage to its silver screen legacy, reminding followers that its landscapes have graced many films, including the legendary Star Wars series. For those unfamiliar with the significance of the date, “May the 4th” is a playful nod to the iconic line from the films: “May the force be with you.”

Among the notable locations within the park, fans may recognize the Twenty-mule Team Canyon. This area doubled as the abode of the notorious crime lord Jabba the Hutt on the desert planet of Tatooine. In “Return of the Jedi,” the beloved droids R2-D2 and C-3PO traverse this rugged terrain on a daring mission to save Han Solo.

Another distinct spot in Death Valley is Dantes View, renowned for its breathtaking panoramas. It sets the scene for a pivotal moment in “A New Hope,” where Old Ben Kenobi imparts wisdom to the young Luke Skywalker. The picturesque view serves as the backdrop as they gaze down upon the bustling Tatooine spaceport of Mos Eisley.

Death Valley, located near California’s border with Nevada, is known for its extreme conditions. It’s the hottest, driest and lowest national park in the United States.

The park notes that the movies were shot “a few decades ago, when that type of filming was permitted.” Today, most commercial filming in wilderness areas is prohibited.

The park encourages visitors to explore these “otherworldly landscapes” for themselves. A self-guided “Star Wars Film Locations Tour” is available in the official National Park Service app.

Met Gala rocked by revolting protest hours before fashion’s biggest night kicks off

The annual Met Gala is stirring up controversy once again, as tensions rise across New York City mere hours before the glamorous event kicks off.

The uproar centers around the participation of Amazon’s billionaire founder Jeff Bezos, aged 62, and his partner Lauren Sanchez, 56. The couple is said to be the primary financial backers of this year’s gala.

Reports suggest that numerous containers filled with a yellow liquid have been strategically hidden within the Metropolitan Museum of Art, placed worryingly close to invaluable exhibits.

Additionally, baskets brimming with plastic water bottles have been positioned outside the museum, with a peculiar invitation for people to use them as makeshift restrooms.

A sign accompanying the setup reads: ‘The Met Gala VIP toilet. Installed in honor of Met Gala chair Jeff Bezos. Go ahead, it’s good enough for his staff.’

The stunt was intended to draw attention to Amazon’s treatment of its workers.
