DCLM Daily Manna 3 May 2026 — Fatal Ignorance

DCLM Daily Manna 3 May 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Fatal Ignorance

TOPIC: Fatal Ignorance (DCLM Daily Manna 3 May 2026)

KEY VERSE: And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine – Ezekiel 47:12

TEXT: Ezekiel 47:9-13 (KJV)

9 And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.

10 And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.

11 But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt.

12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

13 Thus saith the Lord God; This shall be the border, whereby ye shall inherit the land according to the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph shall have two portions.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

An incident occurred in one religious group in the United States of America that objects to the use of medicine. In their worship, they handle snakes – supposedly a practice based on Jesus’ words that, “In my name shall they cast out devils, they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them.” The TIME Magazine in November 1968, reported: “Last August, during an evening service at the white frame Holiness Church of God in Jesus, Oscar Pelfrey, 65, stood before the congregation holding a pair of writhing timber rattlesnakes. ‘I believe, Jesus. O Jesus, I believe – thank you, Jesus!’ cried Pelfrey, a lay minister of the Church. Suddenly, one of the rattlers struck him on the left temple. Taken home, he refused medical attention and died six hours later.” This was fatal ignorance.

The book of Ezekiel is a collection of visions. Chapter 47 unveils the river of life. Ezekiel the prophet saw a river and trees. He beheld a tree whose fruit shall be for food, and the leaf thereof for medicine. Parallel to this passage, is the account in Revelation 22:1, 2. The verses speak of the leaves of the tree of life, being for the healing of the nations, further emphasising the concept of divine provision and healing. The imagery of “leaves for healing” can be interpreted as a symbol of God’s provision. God provides, not only for our physical needs (food), but also for our spiritual and emotional needs (including healing). The leaves that do not wither, and the fruit that does not fail, represent hope, and the promise of a restored and healthy life. And just as the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of nations, so too can faith in God lead to healing and restoration.

Even now, God is interested in healing and keeping us healthy. And as we pray, when we are sick, there is also nothing wrong in accepting medication. Hezekiah, the king of Judah, was sick, and prayed to God for his recovery; his prayer was heard, and Isaiah the prophet was sent by God with his prescribed medication: “And Isaiah said, take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered” (2 Kings 20:7). That faith and prayer are of great importance in the life of a Christian cannot be over-emphasised. But to depend on them, without discretion, and in complete disregard for even the provisions in the law of God, is tantamount to lack of balanced understanding of the Scriptures.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Ignorance is a monstrous disease, curable only by knowledge.

Historic Showdown at Wrigley Field: Prairie View A&M Panthers vs. Alabama A&M Bulldogs in First-Ever Chicago HBCU Baseball Classic

0

CHICAGO (WLS) — Wrigley Field played host to a momentous occasion on Saturday as two Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) clashed in a groundbreaking baseball game.

Despite the rivalry on the field, the debut of the Chicago HBCU Baseball Classic unified spectators in the stands, creating a sense of camaraderie and celebration.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

This inaugural event illuminated the pride and tradition of HBCUs, with the iconic Wrigley Field serving as the perfect backdrop for this historic moment.

“This is a first-time event, and it’s incredible for us,” expressed Aliyah Jones, a proud alumna of Alabama A&M, reflecting the excitement shared by many attendees.

Organized by Black Baseball Media, the Chicago HBCU Baseball Classic made history on the same date, May 2, as the first-ever Negro Leagues game, which featured the Chicago American Giants in 1920. The event paid homage to the rich legacy of Black baseball in America.

“This is our homecoming for HBCUs in Chicago, so to have that is truly gratifying,” said Earnest Horton with Black Baseball Media. “So many community organizations that’s coming out to this game. Day one we sold out of those first tickets, and it’s free for the community, so it’s truly heartfelt.”

Horton joined ABC7 in February ahead of the special event.

Baseball teams from two Historically Black Colleges and Universities will face off at Wrigley Field.

“I never had the opportunity to go to an HBCU, so this right here is very good for me,” Kappa Alpha Psi member Markus Allen said.

“With my son being an HBCU alum, we always had to travel down south to watch them play, but now it’s a blessing and an honor to see the HBCU coming to Chicago,” attendee Carolyn Bonds said.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson delivered the first pitch before the National Anthem ushered in the Prairie View A&M Panthers and the Alabama A&M Bulldogs on the field. HBCU alum and members of Divine Nine fraternities and sororities were beaming with pride.

“And to see some like this finally come to Chicago, as an educator, I can bring my kids and give them the exposure that I had 40 years ago,” Omega Psi Phi member Tracey Johnson said. “It means so much.”

Rhapsody Of Realities 3 May 2026: Respond Rightly To The Spirit

Rhapsody Of Realities 3 May 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): Respond Rightly To The Spirit

TOPIC: Respond Rightly To The Spirit (Rhapsody of Realities 3 May 2026)

Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he… As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground (John 18:4-6).

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

There’s such a thing as falling under the power of God. It’s real. But sometimes, that people fell under the power when hands were laid on them or when they were ministered to, doesn’t automatically mean they received something.

Power can be present, power can flow, and people can respond physically to that power yet receive no meaningful spiritual impartation. You can tell by the results. For example, John 18:4-6 tells us what transpired on the night the Lord Jesus was arrested. He stood before the men who came for Him and asked, “Whom do you seek?”

They answered, “Jesus of Nazareth.” And He said, “I am he.” The Bible says they staggered backwards and fell to the ground. They fell under the power. It was real power. But what did they receive? Nothing! They still arrested Him. The manifestation of power didn’t mean a spiritual deposit was received.

Acts 9:3-7 shows us the example of Saul on the road to Damascus. A light shone from heaven, and a voice spoke, “…Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” (Acts 9:4). Paul testified that on hearing that voice, he and his companions all fell to the earth. Yet only one heard the meaning of the words that the Lord spoke—Saul of Tarsus, who later was called Paul.

The rest fell down, got up, and went into the city. There was power but they received nothing. Remember that the Holy Spirit is intelligent. He knows a person can be under His influence and still receive nothing. Therefore, you must learn to respond correctly to the Spirit, by faith and understanding, to receive His blessings and impartations.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for your Spirit who ministers to me and through me with wisdom and power. My heart is receptive, my spirit is attentive, and I receive divine deposits that produce lasting transformation as the Spirit ministers to me. My life bears lasting fruits, and I walk in the fullness of the blessings of Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY

John 18:4-6 (NIV) Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?” [5] “Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “I am he,” Jesus said. (And Judas the traitor was standing there with them.) [6] When Jesus said, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground.

Acts 9:3-7 (KJV) And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: [4] And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? [5] And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. [6] And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. [7] And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

Saturday Night Live Takes Jabs at Royalty: Hilarious Skits Target King Charles’ U.S. Visit

0

“Saturday Night Live” turned its comedic spotlight on King Charles III’s recent visit to the United States, targeting Meghan Markle with a controversial label and poking fun at former President Donald Trump’s ties to Prince Andrew, the King’s embattled brother.

The iconic sketch show didn’t hold back as it satirized the dynamics between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in their coverage of the King’s American tour.

During the “Weekend Update” segment, host Michael Che initiated the royal roast by referencing King Charles’s meeting with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, part of the monarch’s whirlwind visit to the northeastern U.S.

“I’m surprised he didn’t take Mamdani back to England with him, because he is an Indian treasure,” Che quipped, adding a layer of humor to the proceedings.

This joke alluded to Mamdani’s prior remarks, where he expressed a desire to ask King Charles for the return of the Koh-i-Noor diamond to India. The diamond, a symbol of colonial legacy, was acquired by the East India Company in 1849.

Comedian Colin Jost then targeted Prince Harry and Markle, saying that celebrating America’s 250th anniversary was not the only reason King Charles made the trip across the pond.

Jost brought up a picture of the couple as he added the visit was also ‘to seek the release of a British hostage being held by an American terrorist.’

The hosts rounded out the segment with a controversial gag about former-Prince Andrew.

Jost noted King Charles’ gift to Trump with a golden bell from a World War Two submarine commissioned by the British Royal Navy in 1944, which was named HMS Trump.

He quipped that the King told Trump, ‘Should you ever need to get ahold of us, just give us a ring.’

The show then brought up an image of Andrew, as Jost added: ‘Or Trump could just call the guy saved in his phone as ‘Andrew (Island).”

The jokes at the royals came after King Charles departed the US following his three-day tour, which included visits to Washington DC, New York City and Virginia.

The trip was his first as monarch, and saw the King deliver a well-regarded speech to the US Congress and meet with a number of leading figures.

At a White House state dinner on Tuesday, Trump risked embarrassing Charles with a surprising remark about the King’s private views on Iran and nuclear weapons.

Trump delivered a fulsome and highly complimentary speech celebrating the enduring alliance between the United States and the United Kingdom, but also couldn’t stop himself wading into tensions in the Middle East.

‘We’re doing a little work in the Middle East right now. And we’re doing very well,’ he said, before adding: ‘We will never let that opponent ever… Charles agrees with me, even more than I do… we will never let that opponent have a nuclear weapon.’

The remark, which appeared to suggest the King privately shared Trump’s hardline stance on Iran, was met with cheers in the room.

But while many praised Charles’ visit to the US this week, California Democrat Ro Khanna told the Daily Mail he was not happy that the monarch failed to mention Jeffrey Epstein during his high-profile speech.

‘It’s very disappointing after the British Ambassador told me that the King would talk about the survivors and sex trafficking. The King’s failure to acknowledge the pain his brother had caused is a moral failure and emblematic of an elite impunity that is an ongoing affront to survivors,’ said Representative Khanna.

In an exclusive comment to the Daily Mail, Khanna also noted that the omission was ‘disrespectful to the survivors, including to Sky and Amanda Roberts — Virginia Giuffre’s family — who I held a roundtable with this morning.’

‘The British Ambassador told me the King would at least acknowledge the Epstein survivors and victims of sex trafficking in the speech. It’s a moral failure and emblematic of the elite impunity that Americans and people around the world are sick of,’ he added.

Republican Nancy Mace also told the Daily Mail, ‘I guess the King didn’t want to talk about Epstein,’ when asked for a reaction to the address.

UK Government Issues Warning: Terror Attack ‘Highly Likely’ Within Six Months Following London Stabbing

0

In response to a recent antisemitic stabbing incident in Golders Green, Britain has elevated its national terror threat level to “severe.” This adjustment signifies that another terrorist attack is considered “highly likely” within the next six months, reflecting growing concerns over national security.

The Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) took the step of raising the U.K. National Threat Level from “substantial” to “severe” following the stabbing of two individuals in north London, a situation formally recognized by police as a terrorist act.

Authorities clarified that the decision to heighten the alert was not solely due to the Golders Green attack but was influenced by a broader surge in extreme right-wing terrorism across the country.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood condemned the attack as an “abhorrent, antisemitic” act and acknowledged the heightened threat level might be particularly distressing for the Jewish community, which has endured significant hardship.

Police said officers were called to Highfield Avenue in the Barnet borough at about 11:16 a.m. Wednesday following reports of multiple stabbings.

Two men, ages 76 and 34, were treated at the scene for stab wounds before being taken to a hospital, where they remain and are “being looked after,” Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor said.

On Thursday, police identified the suspect as 45-year-old Essa Suleiman. Suleiman is a British national born in Somalia who had a “history of serious violence and mental health issues”, police say.

The Home Office said the threat-level increase comes against a backdrop of rising terrorism in the U.K.

On Thursday, protesters gathered on Downing Street to voice concerns that not enough has been done to protect the Jewish community.

In response to the attack and a recent rise of antisemitic arson attacks in London, the government announced an additional £25 million in funding to protect Jewish communities, bringing total support this year to £58 million. Officials said the money will be used to boost police patrols and protective security at synagogues, schools and community centers.

The funding will also support an expansion of Project Servator, which deploys specialist and plainclothes officers trained to spot suspicious behavior and identify people preparing to commit serious crimes.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said the British government cannot credibly claim to be combating antisemitism unless it also confronts what he described as “explicit incitement against the Jewish state.”

“Hate slogans and anti-Semitic marches in the streets of London aren’t ‘free speech’. They are incitement,” he wrote on X. “They bring terror directed against Jews.
They must be banned. The phrase ‘Globalise the Intifada’, means killing Jews everywhere. It must be banned.”

“This is what the British government must immediately do to fight antisemitism. Otherwise, it’s just more empty words.”

Taylor said the attack has now been formally classified as terrorism and that counterterrorism officers are working with security services to establish the full circumstances and develop a complete intelligence picture.

“Whilst I must stress this investigation is at an early stage, we are working quickly to understand exactly what happened,” Taylor said.

A statement posted on X by Shomrim, a volunteer neighborhood watch group in Orthodox Jewish communities, said the suspect was seen “armed with a knife” on Golders Green Road and was detained by members before police arrived.

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams said officers “swiftly Tasered and arrested the suspect before he could cause further harm,” adding that investigators are “considering all possible motives” and will maintain a visible police presence in the area.

The U.K. was last at the “severe” threat level in November 2021, following the Liverpool Women’s Hospital bombing and the killing of lawmaker Sir David Amess, before it was lowered to “substantial” in February 2022.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the violence, calling attacks on Jewish residents “an attack on Britain,” while London Mayor Sadiq Khan said there is “no place for antisemitism” in the city.

Meghan Trainor Sparks Conversation with Noticeable Change in Recent Photos

The phenomenon known as “Ozempic neck” mirrors what has been dubbed “Ozempic face,” where individuals experience loose and sagging skin around the neck after shedding weight rapidly. This condition, while not immediately apparent, has affected several celebrities, including a well-known singer who has turned to Mounjaro in her weight loss efforts. In the accompanying image, she exhibits what is colloquially referred to as “turkey neck,” characterized by vertical folds due to substantial fat loss and diminished skin elasticity. Additionally, she shows pronounced lines and wrinkles around her mouth, a frequent occurrence among users of Ozempic and other GLP-1 medications.

Similar to “Ozempic face,” the term “Ozempic neck” refers to loose, sagging skin that settles around the neck following rapid weight loss. Though not always obvious at first glance, the singer is one of many celebs who have clearly fallen victim to “Ozempic neck” after using Mounjaro as part of her journey. As seen in the photo below, she has what they call “turkey neck” or vertical folds as a result of significant fat loss and reduced skin elasticity. She also has deep lines and wrinkles around her mouth, another common issue for Ozempic and other GLP-1 users.

Trainor and her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, got healthy after welcoming their second child. “We did 75 Hard […] and, man, did we crush,” the “Spy Kids” star proudly recalled on Trainor’s “Workin’ On It” podcast. But then they learned about Mounjaro. “I did the research, and I felt safe,” she said. “Like this thing is incredible, and I have no shame being on it and talking about it.”

Fans reacted viciously to Meghan Trainor’s weight loss

Meghan Trainor copped to using GLP-1 weight loss drugs after drawing some flak in 2025 for debuting her slimmer physique on the Billboard Women in Music Awards red carpet. Up until that point, she attributed the drastic change in her appearance to an active lifestyle and healthy diet despite fans’ Ozempic suspicions. The “All About That Bass” hitmaker lamented the public’s fascination with her body on Instagram. “It’s a little disheartening that so many of the questions (and comments) were focused on my body instead of my music, my passion, or the decade of hard work that got me here,” she hit back. “This is what it’s like to be a woman in the music industry.”

Trainor later opened up about feeling hurt by all the negative comments about her weight loss. “I just want to feel good because this job is hard if you don’t feel good,” the pop star reasoned on iHeart Radio’s KIISFM (via YouTube). “But I got a lot of hate for being thin so it confused me and rattled me.” Scrolling through the comments, it appears that much of the backlash stems from her reputation as an advocate of body positivity, with several users calling her out for being a fraud and a hypocrite. Notably, alongside the singer’s weight loss, she also revealed getting a breast lift and augmentation in a video posted, in collaboration with Motiva, on Instagram, also in 2025.

“I think my main problem is how she profits off of the changes she’s made,” one user argued on Reddit. “She made fun of silicon Barbie dolls in all about that [bass] and now she sells breast implants.” But regardless, Trainor has zero regrets, gushing, “I feel amazing,” on “Workin’ On It.”

Zaidu Sanusi and Moffi Propel Porto to First Portuguese Championship Victory Since 2022

In a thrilling finale to the Portuguese football season, FC Porto clinched the championship title for the first time since 2022. Their narrow 1-0 triumph over Alverca on Saturday sealed their position at the top.

This victory propelled Porto nine points ahead of their closest rivals, Benfica. Meanwhile, Benfica’s title hopes were dashed as they settled for a 2-2 draw against Famalicao, confirming Porto’s reign with two games still to play.

The decisive moment of the match came in the 40th minute. Jan Bednarek, demonstrating his aerial prowess, leapt above the defense to nod in a corner, securing the goal that would ultimately deliver both the match and the championship.

Bednarek header seals decisive win

Throughout the remainder of the game, Porto exhibited strategic control, expertly managing the play to safeguard their lead and ensure their triumphant finish to the season.

Porto maintained control for the remainder of the contest, managing the game effectively to protect their lead and deliver a title-clinching result.

Farioli delivers in debut season

The triumph marks a standout debut campaign for manager Francesco Farioli, who secures the first major trophy of his coaching career. Porto now move to 31 league titles, extending their status among Portugal’s most successful clubs.

Benfica slip ends title race

Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho’s Benfica relinquished control of their match after going two goals ahead, with Nicolas Otamendi sent off early in the second half.

Famalicao capitalised to earn a draw and effectively hand Porto the advantage.

Porto’s title win caps a consistent campaign, with key contributions across the squad, including Nigerian internationals Zaidu Sanusi and Terem Moffi, who played roles during the season run-in.

Iran’s Nobel Laureate Narges Mohammadi Hospitalized: Urgent Health Crisis Behind Bars

0

Narges Mohammadi, the Nobel Peace Prize winner currently incarcerated in Iran, experienced a severe health crisis leading to her urgent transfer to a hospital in the country’s northwest, as reported by her foundation on Friday.

The foundation highlighted that Mohammadi endured two incidents of complete unconsciousness accompanied by a critical cardiac event.

Earlier on Friday, it was reported that Mohammadi had twice lost consciousness while in prison in Zanjan, located in northwestern Iran, according to the foundation’s information.

Her lawyers, who visited shortly after the incident, suspect she may have suffered a heart attack in late March.

During this visit, they observed that she was noticeably pale, had lost weight, and required assistance from a nurse to move around.

The hospital transfer comes “after 140 days of systematic medical neglect,” since her arrest on Dec. 12, the foundation said.

“This transfer was done as an unavoidable necessity after prison doctors determined her condition could not be managed on-site, despite standing medical recommendations that she be treated by her specialized team in Tehran,” the foundation said.

Help may be little too late, family says

Mohammadi’s family had advocated for her transfer to adequate medical facilities for weeks.

The foundation, quoting her family, said her transfer Friday to a hospital in Zanjan was “a desperate, ‘last-minute’ action that may be too late to address her critical needs.”

Mohammadi’s brother Hamidreza Mohammadi, who lives in Oslo, Norway, said in an audio message shared with The Associated Press by the foundation that her family is “fighting for her life.”

“My family in Iran is doing everything they can. But the prosecutors in Zanjan are blocking everything,” he said.

On March 24, Narges Mohammadi’s fellow inmates found her unconscious, her lawyers said she told them during the visit a few days later.

Upon later examination at the prison’s clinic, a doctor told her that she probably had had a heart attack. She had chest pain and breathing difficulties since.

Her legal representative in France, Chirinne Ardakani, said at the time that Mohammadi had been denied transfer to the hospital or to visit her cardiologist.

A prison official was present throughout the brief visit by Mohammadi’s lawyers.

Won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2023

Mohammadi, 53, a rights lawyer who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2023 while in prison, was arrested in December during a visit to the eastern Iranian city of Mashhad and sentenced to seven more years in prison.

Her family said in February that her health was worsening in prison, in part because of a beating she endured during her arrest in December. He said multiple men hit and kicked her in her side, head and neck.

The Nobel committee condemned the “ongoing life-threatening mistreatment” of Mohammadi in a statement in February.

“In recent days, her blood pressure has experienced severe fluctuations, going very high and low, and today she suddenly fainted due to a sudden drop in blood pressure,” her lawyer Mostafa Nili posted on X.

At first, the prison doctor injected Mohammadi with drugs but she refused to be transferred to a hospital, demanding to see her cardiologist.

A few hours later, Mohammadi fainted again. This time a neurologist ordered her immediate transfer to a hospital, the lawyer added.

Mohammadi was urgently transferred to the hospital and admitted to the cardiac care unit, “but her blood pressure continues to fluctuate severely,” Nili wrote.

He said a medical official in Zanjan recommended a one-month suspension of her sentence for treatment, but the public prosecutor in Zanjan referred the matter to his counterpart in Tehran.

Prior to her arrest Dec. 12, Mohammadi had already been serving a sentence of 13 years and nine months on charges of collusion against state security and propaganda against Iran’s government, but had been released on furlough since late 2024 over medical concerns.

Continued her activism on furlough

During that furlough, Mohammadi kept up her activism with public protests and international media appearances, including demonstrating in front of Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison, where she had been held.

In February, a Revolutionary Court in Mashhad sentenced Mohammadi to an additional seven years. Such courts typically issue verdicts with little or no opportunity for defendants to contest their charges.

Mohammadi suffered multiple heart attacks while imprisoned before undergoing emergency surgery in 2022, her supporters say.

In 2023, Mohammadi became the fifth laureate to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize while in prison, further amplifying her voice in support of widespread protests that swept Iran after the death the year before of Mahsa Amini, who was arrested by the country’s morality police for not properly wearing the mandatory headscarf.

Her selection enraged Iran’s hard-line Shiite theocracy, which increased her prison time and later sent guards to rough her up along with other prisoners who were protesting inside Evin Prison.

Yet Mohammadi remained defiant, even issuing boycott calls for the 2024 election that President Masoud Pezeshkian won.

She maintained that one day Iran’s government would change due to popular pressure.

5 Bed Exercises That Accelerate Leg Muscle Recovery for Seniors, Surpassing Gym Machines

Rebuilding leg strength doesn’t necessarily require a gym. A few simple exercises can be remarkably effective, offering a refreshing approach to fitness.

Embracing simplicity in strength training can be incredibly rewarding. You don’t need an elaborate gym setup or lengthy workouts to feel your legs engaging. Sometimes, all it takes is positioning yourself correctly to move efficiently and focus on your body’s performance.

Your legs do more than transport you from one place to another. They play a crucial role in supporting your joints, maintaining balance, and enabling you to move with assurance. Strengthening them doesn’t have to depend on gym machines or extended sessions. In fact, effective leg training can take place in a more relaxed, controlled environment by honing in on movement quality instead of merely following routine exercises.

Exercises that can be performed on a bed offer a practical method to enhance leg strength. Utilizing a stable surface like a bed can alleviate joint stress and encourage consistency. Many have achieved significant progress by incorporating brief exercise sessions throughout their day—whether in the morning, before sleep, or amidst other activities. This approach helps build momentum, and gradually, those small, consistent efforts accumulate into noticeable strength gains.

Bed-based exercises open up a really practical way to build that strength back up. They give you a stable surface, reduce stress on your joints, and make it easier to stay consistent. I’ve seen people make solid progress just by working short bouts of movement into their day, whether it’s in the morning, before bed, or even in between other activities. That kind of approach builds momentum, and over time, those small efforts start to stack up.

These five exercises focus on rebuilding strength through your hips, thighs, and supporting muscles while keeping everything simple and approachable. You’ll move through controlled patterns, stay connected to each rep, and build strength that carries over into everyday movement. Let’s get into the five bed-based exercises that get it done.

Box Squats (from Bed Edge)

Box squats from the edge of your bed give you a controlled way to build strength through your thighs and hips. Sitting back onto the bed helps guide your movement and gives you a clear target to work toward. As you lower down, your legs control the descent, and as you stand back up, they drive the movement. That combination helps build strength through the full range. It also gives you feedback on your positioning, which helps clean up your form over time. Staying controlled here makes a big difference in how much your legs get out of each rep.

Muscles Trained: Quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, and core

How to Do It:

  1. Stand in front of the bed with your feet shoulder-width apart.
  2. Engage your core and keep your chest upright.
  3. Push your hips back and lower yourself toward the bed.
  4. Lightly sit down without fully relaxing.
  5. Press through your feet to stand back up.
  6. Repeat for your reps.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 12 reps. Rest for 45 to 60 seconds between each set

Best Variations:
Tempo box squats, assisted squats, shallow range squats

Form Tip: Keep your weight evenly distributed through your feet.

Clamshells

Clamshells target the outer hips, which play a big role in keeping your legs stable. As you open your top knee, your hip muscles engage to control the movement. That strength helps support your knees and improves how your legs move together. It’s a smaller movement, but you’ll feel it quickly when you stay controlled. Over time, this helps your legs feel more connected and stable. It’s a great addition for rounding out lower-body strength.

Muscles Trained: Glute medius, glute minimus, and hip stabilizers

How to Do It:

  1. Lie on your side with your knees bent and stacked.
  2. Keep your feet together and your hips aligned.
  3. Lift your top knee upward.
  4. Pause briefly at the top.
  5. Lower back down with control.
  6. Repeat for your reps and switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 12 to 15 reps per side. Rest for 30 to 45 seconds between each set

Best Variations: Banded clamshells, slow tempo reps, extended holds

Form Tip: Keep your hips stacked and avoid rolling backward.

Single-Leg Glute Bridge

Single-leg glute bridges build strength on one side at a time, which helps improve balance and control. As you lift your hips, your working leg takes on the load while your core keeps you steady. This helps clean up imbalances and builds strength that carries over into daily movement. You’ll feel your glutes and thighs working together to hold the position. Staying controlled makes each rep more effective. Over time, this helps your legs feel stronger and more stable.

Muscles Trained: Glutes, hamstrings, and core

How to Do It:

  1. Lie on your back with one knee bent and one leg extended.
  2. Place your foot flat on the bed.
  3. Engage your core and press through your foot.
  4. Lift your hips upward.
  5. Pause briefly at the top.
  6. Lower back down and repeat.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 12 reps per side. Rest for 45 seconds between each set

Best Variations: Elevated bridges, longer holds, slow tempo reps

Form Tip: Keep your hips level throughout the movement.

Plank with Leg Lift

Plank with leg lifts ties your core and legs together. As you lift one leg, your glutes and core have to stabilize your body. This builds strength and coordination at the same time. It also helps reinforce how your body holds position while your legs move. Staying steady during the lift makes the movement more effective. Over time, this helps your legs feel stronger and more connected.

Muscles Trained: Core, glutes, shoulders, and stabilizers

How to Do It:

  1. Get into a plank position on the bed.
  2. Keep your body in a straight line.
  3. Engage your core and lift one leg.
  4. Hold briefly at the top.
  5. Lower it back down with control.
  6. Alternate sides and repeat.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps per side. Rest for 30 to 45 seconds between each set

Best Variations: Longer holds, slower lifts, alternating holds

Form Tip: Keep your hips steady as you lift your leg.

Straight-Leg Glute Bridge

Link: Straight-leg glute bridges shift more of the work into your hamstrings and glutes while still engaging your core. With your legs extended, your body has to work harder to lift and hold your hips. This builds strength through a slightly different angle and challenges your control. You’ll feel a strong contraction as you lift and a steady effort as you lower. Staying controlled keeps the tension where it belongs. Over time, this helps your legs feel stronger and more responsive.

Muscles Trained:
Hamstrings, glutes, and core

How to Do It:

  1. Lie on your back with your legs straight.
  2. Place your heels on the bed.
  3. Engage your core and press through your heels.
  4. Lift your hips upward.
  5. Pause briefly at the top.
  6. Lower back down with control.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps. Rest for 45 seconds between each set

Best Variations: Single-leg versions, longer holds, slow tempo reps

Form Tip: Drive through your heels and keep your hips aligned.

Building leg strength often comes down to consistency and staying connected to each movement. These exercises work well because they let you move with control and keep tension where it belongs. When that starts to click, your legs begin to feel stronger in a way that carries over into everything you do.

  • Set your position before each rep: A quick reset helps you stay aligned and get more out of the movement.
  • Stay controlled on the way down: Slowing the lowering phase keeps your muscles engaged longer.
  • Focus on one side at a time when needed: This helps clean up imbalances and build even strength.
  • Use short sessions more often: A few minutes done regularly builds momentum quickly.
  • Pay attention to how your legs feel during the day: strength tends to show up first in everyday movement.
