The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Jaheem Legons, reportedly ignored police commands and proceeded to an apartment upstairs. Innovative Camera by U of I Scientists Unveils Hidden Cancer in Lymph Nodes

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — A team of researchers at the University of Illinois has pioneered an innovative technique for detecting cancer in lymph nodes, leveraging the power of ultraviolet and infrared camera technology.

Under the leadership of engineering professor Viktor Gruev, this groundbreaking method has been in development for six years. Gruev, along with numerous students working in the university’s Biosensor lab, collaborated closely with partners from the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, Carle Foundation Hospital, and The Cancer Center at Illinois to bring this project to fruition.

In a recent clinical study involving over 30 cancer surgeries, these advanced cameras demonstrated a remarkable 97% accuracy in identifying cancerous lymph nodes. Additionally, they achieved an 89% success rate in detecting non-cancerous nodes, as reported by Gruev.

Inside Molly-Mae Hague & Tommy Fury’s Luxurious Swiss Getaway Before Baby #2 Arrives

Expecting their second child, Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury embarked on a luxurious escape to Switzerland on Wednesday, flying via private jet for one last vacation before their new arrival.

The duo appeared more in love than ever, capturing a sweet selfie moment at the private airport. This trip doubles as a celebration for Tommy’s approaching 27th birthday on May 7 and Molly’s recent inclusion in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

On Instagram, Tommy expressed his joy over a thoughtful gift from his “best friend”—a customized gold boarding pass marking the birthday journey to Switzerland.

The special ticket indicated their departure from Signature, a service known for its private aviation offerings, but it remains unclear if their three-year-old daughter, Bambi, accompanied them on the trip.

Tommy captioned the post, “Early birthday present from my best friend,” sharing his excitement and gratitude.

In a second snap, the couple looked in good spirits as they posed on the runway with their private jet waiting behind them ready to board.

Pregnant Molly, who is due in June, showed off her natural beauty as she went makeup free wearing a khaki leather jacket layered over a grey T-shirt.

Meanwhile Tommy beamed in a black jacket and matching T-shirt as he captioned the post: ‘Last trip before we are 4’.

The trip comes the same day that Molly became the first Love Island star to land a place on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 List – as her influencer empire surges to a staggering £20million.

The entrepreneur has been recognised in the Retail and Ecommerce category for her impact on the beauty and fashion industries through her brands Filter by Molly-Mae and Maebe.

Forbes highlighted her growing influence as part of MMH Group Holdings, which generated significant revenues in 2025.

Since rising to fame on Love Island in 2019 alongside fiancé Tommy, Molly has built a social media following of more than 16 million across Instagram, YouTube and TikTok, transforming her reality TV profile into a multi-platform business empire.

Her journey is also documented in the Amazon Prime Video series Behind It All, which offers a behind-the-scenes look at her life balancing entrepreneurship, motherhood and fame.

The achievement follows Molly’s recent collaboration with Adidas, which sold out within minutes. The partnership saw her design two trainers with the global sportswear giant.

Her beauty and fashion empire continues to expand, with her tanning brand Filter stocked in major retailers including Selfridges and Boots, while her clothing label Maebe continues to grow.

Molly began building her personal brand at just 17, launching a YouTube channel where she created beauty and fashion content for a growing young audience, years before her appearance on Love Island.

She left London’s Fashion Retail Academy to pursue her own path, going on to collaborate with brands such as PrettyLittleThing, which helped elevate her profile further.

Throughout her career, she has brought her followers along with her journey, sharing personal milestones and challenges.

This has included her 2024 split from Tommy, which made headlines around the world.

The pair called off their engagement, with Tommy saying he was to blame following struggles with alcohol addiction.

The couple have since reconciled and recently moved into a new family home, which they are currently renovating as they prepare for the arrival of their second child.

Molly has also been honest with her audience about motherhood, openly discussing the challenges she has faced while adjusting to parenthood.

And more recently the influencer addressed Tommy’s controversial fight date being so close to when she is expected to give birth to their second child.

The Love Island stars, who are already parents to three-year-old daughter Bambi, rekindled their romance last year.

However, Tommy has revealed his plans to fight retired strongman Eddie Hall at the AO Arena in Manchester on June 13.

After reported claims that her family are ‘worried by his decision,’ Molly-Mae has revealed what she really thinks about it.

Opening up in a Q&A video on her YouTube channel, she said: ‘A lot of questions about how do you feel about Tommy’s fight and obviously the date of it,’ she said in her vlog.

‘Obviously I knew that you guys were going to like be concerned about that and have questions about that, but fear not.

‘Fear not fair maiden because we’re actually feeling really, really good about it and have a really good plan in place.’

She went on: ‘There’s actually like a good amount of time between my birth, my supposed birth because basically I’m having the baby in London again.

‘So I gave birth with Bambi at The Portland.

‘I’m not worried and I’m actually really, really happy that he’s got a fight because it’s been over a year since his last fight.’

She continued: ‘So just having a date for something and and having a focus and us having like I don’t know something to look forward to in the fight like it’s just I think it’s actually a really, really, really positive thing and he will be here when I get home.

‘He will be able to support me.’

Louisiana Preschool Community Grieves After Tragic Loss

0

Every morning in her Shreveport, Louisiana, classroom, teacher Angela Hall gathers her preschoolers in a circle. Amidst the giggles and chatter, the children often take note of who is absent.

On a recent Monday, one child pointed out, “Braylon, he’s not here,” as Hall recalled. Braylon Snow, who had just celebrated his fifth birthday, was tragically one of seven siblings killed by their father in a devastating shooting that also claimed the life of their cousin.

This horrific event has deeply impacted the Shreveport community, leaving teachers like Hall to confront a whirlwind of emotions from both students and parents. The tragedy has created an atmosphere of grief and confusion in classrooms.

At Johnnie L. Cochran Head Start, where Hall teaches, Braylon’s absence was likely felt keenly. Hall’s daily routine involves asking her students to scan the room and identify friends who are missing, making Braylon’s absence all the more poignant.

In Hall’s classroom at Johnnie L. Cochran Head Start, it’s likely students noticed Braylon’s absence immediately. Each day, Hall instructs her students to look around for friends who aren’t there.

“When they come back tomorrow, we can tell them, ‘Hey, we missed you, we’re glad you’re back’” she tells them.

But Hall wasn’t ready to tell the students that the boy she described as a “cool little dude” wasn’t returning. She kept circle-time moving. Numb and heartbroken, she lasted until noon and then went home.

“I’m no good to my babies right now because I just feel like I need to be in a moment of silence and just pray,” she said.

Preschool comes to an end

At Head Start, preparation’s for next month’s graduation ceremony have been in full swing. Hall, an organist and pianist at her local Baptist church, wrote a song for the ceremony.

Students, who dress in caps and gowns for the festivities, have been busy learning the words, excited about the prospect of starting kindergarten in the fall. Hall was working hard to make sure they were ready.

Just last Thursday, she pulled Braylon’s mother aside during morning drop-off, boasting that Braylon was writing his first and last name. Braylon also was getting so independent, squirting syrup for his pancakes onto his plate by himself. He didn’t even need a reminder to wash his hands.

“Braylon doesn’t give me any problems,” she told his mother.

Braylon greeted Hall — known to her students as “Mrs. Hall” — each day with a small wave.

As the year progressed, she nudged more gap-toothed smiles from him. He loved his time on the playground — playing chase, tag and even partaking in “a little wrassling.” She laughed as she remembered it.

“He was for the majority of the time kind of a quiet little soul in the classroom,” she said. “When he did get a little extra energy or something, it was just a joy to see him smile and laugh.”

News of the shooting emerges

But then came Sunday. After church, she went to her mother’s house. It was then that she stumbled across an article about the shooting.

The number of victims was so high she struggled to comprehend it. Then she learned Braylon was among the victims. She also knew one of his brothers. He had been a Head Start student at the school last year.

“I just broke down and just started crying,” she said.

The same thing happened Monday morning at drop off when she locked eyes with a parent. Neither could say anything; the preschoolers were all around them.

“I just immediately broke down,” she said. So too did the parent and a teacher’s aide.

She is relying on her faith now. She prays for the dead, for the families and also for the teachers.

“And I’m just praying for all the educators that were connected to these children because it’s tough because my parents’ babies, they become my babies. And I treat them like they’re my own. So I’m just really praying that he sustains us all during this time.

“Just give us that strength.”

Chicago Cinco de Mayo Parade Organizers Address Cancellation Concerns Amid Immigration Enforcement Fears

0

CHICAGO (WLS) — The annual parade organizers are set to address their recent decision to cancel the event for the second consecutive year.

The Cinco de Mayo Parade organizers have cited ongoing concerns about immigration enforcement as the primary reason for calling off this year’s celebration.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

This marks the second year the parade has been canceled due to immigration policies established during the Trump administration.

This cherished event, which honors Mexican heritage, traditionally draws crowds to Little Village during the first week of May.

The parade has faced numerous interruptions over the years. From 2018 to 2022, it was not held, partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and disagreements between its organizers and city officials. Additionally, two years ago, the parade had to be rerouted following incidents of gang violence, which led to several arrests.

The Cermak Road Chamber of Commerce and Casa Puebla said many families are still experiencing fear and uncertainty following ramped up enforcement during Operation Midway Blitz.

Organizers said community members have withdrawn from public gatherings.

Mr Eazi Reveals Strategic Decision Behind Delaying First Car Purchase Until 2021

  • Mr Eazi has revealed that he did not own a car during the initial years of his relationship with Temi Otedola, finally purchasing his first vehicle, a Range Rover in 2021.
  • The singer-turned-entrepreneur explained that he previously viewed cars as liabilities and noted that while he dreams of owning a $350,000 Rolls-Royce Cullinan, he cannot yet afford it.

Renowned Nigerian music artist and entrepreneur, Oluwatosin Ajibade, better known by his stage name Mr Eazi, recently opened up about some unexpected aspects of his personal life and financial strategy, particularly during the early days of his relationship with Temi Otedola.

Despite achieving considerable acclaim in the global music scene, the artist behind the hit song “Leg Over” disclosed that for a good part of their courtship, he did not own a car.

Mr Eazi explained that this choice stemmed not from financial constraints but from a deliberate financial mindset.

He articulated that he perceived cars as depreciating assets, which did not fit his investment priorities at the time. Reflecting on his decision, he remarked, “I didn’t even have a car while dating Temi Otedola. I got my first car in 2021, a Range Rover, because I saw cars as liabilities.”

While he eventually gave in to luxury by purchasing a Range Rover, Mr Eazi admitted that his ultimate automotive goal remains just out of reach for now. Despite his successful business ventures, including his gaming and fintech interests, he remains grounded about his current financial limits regarding high-end luxury. “My dream car is the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which is about $350,000… but I still can’t afford it yet,” he added.

Alan Osmond, famed for his performances with the Osmond Brothers, retired in 1987 after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

SALT LAKE CITY — The music world bids farewell to Alan Osmond, the eldest member of the Osmond Brothers, who passed away at the age of 76.

A representative for the family confirmed to Utah outlets KSL, Fox 13, and KUTV that Alan was surrounded by his wife, Suzanne, and their eight sons at his home in Orem when he passed.

Merrill Osmond paid homage to his brother with a heartfelt message on social media.

“My brother has now entered the presence of our Father in Heaven with honor and peace,” Merrill expressed. “His life was defined not by the years he lived but by love, sacrifice, and purpose. His creativity, vision, and profound grasp of the Savior’s teachings were integral to his being. He lived it. He felt it. He shared it.”

Alan Osmond, who was born on June 22, 1949, in Ogden, Utah. He was the oldest of the performing Osmond siblings. He had two older brothers who were hearing impaired. He and three of his siblings got their big break on “The Andy Williams Show,” an NBC variety program, in 1962.

The Osmonds reached the height of their fame in the 1970s, with hits like “One Bad Apple,” “Down By the Lazy River” and “Love Me For a Reason.” They had 10 Top 40 hits and four Top 10 hits, according to Billboard.

Alan was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1987, forcing him to retire from performing.

Merrill Osmond said he was with his brother in his final days and that Alan “was struggling,” but the two still joked and shared heartfelt words together.

“Two days before my brother, Alan, passed, I was blessed to sit quietly with him. We talked as brothers do, heart to heart. He was struggling, but when I shared a joke or two, he found the strength to chuckle… and then he smiled,” he recalled.

“Don’t let your hearts be heavy. Don’t weep for him. Rejoice, knowing that your brother, your friend, your hero is no longer in pain,” Merrill continued. “He is free. He is whole. He is home.”

New Discoveries in Turkey Uncover Hidden Tunnels Linked to Noah’s Ark Legend

0

Perched high in Turkey’s mountainous terrain lies an enigmatic geological structure that some experts speculate might be the remnants of Noah’s Ark.

The biblical narrative recounts how this enormous ark preserved human life and a pair of every animal species from a devastating deluge that occurred over 4,300 years ago.

Currently, American researchers examining the Durupınar Formation close to Mount Ararat have discovered evidence of concealed tunnels, aligning with descriptions found in scripture.

Andrew Jones, an independent investigator with Noah’s Ark Scans, employed ground-penetrating radar to reveal a network of ‘corridors’ that converge on a central void he refers to as the atrium.

Jones connected this find to the biblical depiction of the Ark, which describes the vessel as having three internal levels designed to accommodate Noah, his kin, and pairs of animals.

‘God told Noah to bring the animals in. And so these animals would have stayed there, plus Noah and his family,’ Jones told GB News.

‘What’s interesting is that these voids are lining up below the ground – and they’re not just random. These tunnels also follow a pattern. GPR is just a way to look below the soil using radar.’

He added further studies using infrared thermography (IRT), a heat-sensing technology that can uncover hidden structures underground, have also suggested the presence of a ship-shaped hull buried deep in the soil.

Located just 18 miles south of Mount Ararat, Turkey’s highest peak, the Durupınar Formation has only been known to the modern world for less than a century.

According to local reports, heavy rains and earthquakes in May 1948 washed away the surrounding mud, revealing the mysterious formation. It was then discovered by a Kurdish shepherd.

The Bible states that Noah’s Ark came to rest on the ‘mountains of Ararat’ after a 150-day flood that drowned the Earth and every living creature not sheltered inside the wooden vessel.

What’s intriguing is that the formation sits near a mountain with a peak that some believe matches the ark’s shape and dimensions.

According to biblical measurements, the ark was ‘300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high,’ roughly 515 feet long, 86 feet wide and 52 feet tall.

The idea that the ark landed on Mount Ararat has long sparked debate.

While many scientists argue that the formation is a naturally occurring geological feature, others are convinced it points to something far more extraordinary.

The team at Noah’s Ark Scans firmly believes the latter.

Jones told GB News that he and his team collected 88 samples from inside and outside of the ship in 2024.

Soil testing in the area showed extremely high levels of potassium, consistent with massive amounts of decomposed lumber.

‘However, due to the extremely cold climate, many parts of the Ark are still intact and petrified. It spends almost six months out of the year completely frozen,’ Noah’s Ark Scans explained in an X post.

In 2024, Jones revealed that he and his team uncovered angular structures as deep as 20 feet beneath the surface, features that could represent rooms below a deck-like platform.

In Genesis 6:14, the Bible describes the ark: ‘Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.’

‘This is not what you’d expect to see if the site were simply a solid block of rock or the result of random mudflow debris,’ Jones told The Christian Broadcasting Network.

‘But it is exactly what you’d expect to find if this were a man-made boat, consistent with the biblical specifications of Noah’s Ark.’

The team has also performed soil testing, uncovering what Jones described as ‘some interesting things.’

‘We noticed that the grass growing within the boat-shaped formation is a different color compared to the area just outside it,’ Jones said, suggesting this could point to a man-made origin rather than a natural one.

William Crabtree, another member of Noah’s Ark Scans, added that a tunnel appears to run from the tip of the formation toward the middle, and it is large enough to walk through.

‘The ultimate goal is not just soil test, which is great, or GPR scans, but to get inside the ship somehow,’ Jones told Patterns of Evidence.

‘Core drilling, getting samples deep inside of it to where we see the substructure, these voids, put a camera in it. This is an opportunity coming up that possibly will allow us to do that next season.

‘Whatever happens, whenever God opens doors, we will continue working on the site.’

Claudia Schiffer’s Daughter Stuns as Her Mother’s Doppelgänger: A New Supermodel on the Rise?

Clementine Vaughn, the eldest daughter of supermodel Claudia Schiffer, has made the move to New York City, aiming to carve out her own path in the creative world.

It seems, however, that Clementine might be stepping into her mother’s shoes as a model, a possibility that has become increasingly apparent.

At 21, she recently shared photos on social media that showcased a striking resemblance to her famous German mother while out enjoying an evening with friends.

In one standout image, Clementine bore an uncanny resemblance to Claudia during her iconic modeling days in the 1990s.

In addition to her modeling aspirations, Clementine is also the daughter of renowned filmmaker Sir Matthew Vaughn, known for directing the “Kingsman” series.

Acknowledging her fortunate background, Clementine has said of her move to the Big Apple: ‘I’ve seen the end of success. I want to see the start of it – the hustle and bustle.’

Clementine grew up in London and a Tudor mansion in Suffolk however in recent months she has been living in New York, pursuing creative interests.

Claudia and Matthew, who have been married since 2002, are also parents to Caspar, 22, and Cosima, 15. They have resided at the sprawling £7.5million Coldham Hall, Stanningfield, Suffolk, since 2002.

While Claudia’s life was jam-packed with parties and runways throughout the 80s and 90s, things changed dramatically when she met Matthew.

She previously said: ‘Before I met Matthew, I worked non-stop. But once we got together, suddenly, a whole new world seemed to open up… My priorities became completely different. Motherhood made me feel, ‘This is what I’m all about.’

Echoing her previous thoughts, last year, the supermodel again detailed how her focus changed after she married Matthew and they had their three children.

She became less ‘competitive’, and while she knows she could still book more jobs if she wanted to, she’s content with the balance she’s achieved in her life.

She told HELLO! Magazine: ‘When I was in my 20s, travelling around the world, my focus was on my career – working hard, being competitive and getting to the top. That changed when I had kids, and now, I feel lucky to have such a wonderful family.

‘I’m proud of my children, they’re very down to earth and their wellbeing is mine and my husband’s priority. I could take on a lot more runways, photoshoots and other projects…

‘But maintaining a balance that enables me to spend quality time with my family and be there when they need me is far more important to me than doing a great new campaign.’

Claudia was one of the original supermodels alongside Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington.

Though she appreciates their position in the fashion industry was ‘revolutionary’, it was only looking back much later that she understood just how special a time it was.

She said: ‘The 1990s saw the rise of the supermodel, but also the emergence of style culture and fearless creativity. A wave of young new talent fundamentally changed the way we viewed fashion and design.
