With Chandler Levack at the helm and a screenplay penned by Jimmy Fowlie and Ceara O’Sullivan, Roommates offers a quirky and entertaining look at the complex, often tumultuous dynamics of young adult female friendships. Not all young actors in the cast come from famous lineages; notable exceptions include Storm Reid, Ivy Wolk, Billy Byrk, Aidan Langford, and a surprise appearance by Megan Thee Stallion.

Near the end of the film, Roommates offers a wink to its status as a “nepo baby movie” with one perfect joke. Devon gets her revenge on her terrible roommate, Celeste, by revealing to the student body that Celeste didn’t grow up poor, as she claimed. In fact, she’s the daughter of the CEO of Staples. Upon hearing this one of the students—played by SNL writer and avowed nepo baby Martin Herlihy—stands up, outraged, and shouts, “You’re telling me she’s a f–king nepo baby?”

Bella Murphy—one of ten children belonging to superstar comedian Eddie Murphy—appears in Roommates as Olivia’s roommate, Emma. Olivia (aka Laura Dern’s daughter Jaya Harper) and Emma become a foursome with Devon and Celeste, despite the fact that they have very uncool twinkle lights and Polaroids hanging in their dorm room.
You know Martin Herlihy—who plays a fellow student and Frisbee golf enthusiast named Christian—as one third of Please Don’t Destroy, a sketch comedy group who are currently working as writers (and, in Ben Marshall’s case, a cast member) on Saturday Night Live. You might not know Herlihy’s father, Tim Herlihy, as a household name, but there’s no doubting his status as a nepo baby—Tim Herlihy is a former SNL writer-producer himself, and a longtime comedy partner of Adam Sandler, aka the guy who produced this movie.

It’s extra cute that her name is Lola in the film, as that’s the name of Zahra’s older sister, Lola Simone Rock.

‘What’s interesting to me is that players that have been mentioned before the start of this season as possible Test picks – Haseeb Hameed, Dom Sibley, James Coles at Sussex – have not knocked the door down. Yes, they might have had a little bit of bad fortune, but what I look for when players get touted for England is whether they then deliver for their county, because fundamentally you’re under a bit more pressure when the eyeballs are on you.
‘There’s still a few weeks to go, but you’ve got a four-horse race among the openers and I’m saying to Ben McKinney now, after his double hundred for Durham: Your nose is in front. He looks a talent. I like the way that he plays.
‘Asa Tribe, a player that interests me with the way that he gets over to the off-side and plays the safe game, working the ball to leg, is probably just behind him, then Hameed and Sibley a fair way back, but I can’t see any other opportunities unless they look for an English-style seamer like an Ollie Robinson or Sam Cook.’

Any overhaul, Vaughan argues, in a week that the ECB oddly created more noise about last winter – releasing an in-house interview in which captain Ben Stokes insisted he is ’95 per cent aligned’ with McCullum despite differences of opinion on tactical approach surfacing Down Under – should be focused on preparation, not personnel.
‘Fundamentally, they’ve got to get away from this ‘vibe’ coaching – I don’t see any sporting team get better by just turning up and having a vibe,’ Vaughan continues. ‘England hate people for saying that because they say that they do a lot of work, but they don’t do the same amount of work as some of the other sporting teams that I’ve witnessed.
‘The talent is there but talent can only get you to so far in any sport, so they need a little bit more dedication to really improve the players technically. Mentally, they’ve got to accept that when the pressure’s been on in the last few years of this regime, they haven’t done it. India at The Oval last year – failed. Australia in the winter – failed. World Cups to date – failed.
‘Because success for this England group should be winning. They’ve reached the last five semi-finals at Twenty20 World Cup. So, this coaching group has done no better than any other coaching group. You’ve got to have aspirations to be the best in the world and from what I’ve seen, you can’t say that the organisation of the team has been what you would say is high performance.
‘These past 22 years represent probably the most successful period in history for English men’s cricket. We’ve been used to winning Ashes series. We’ve been used to winning World Cups.
‘This regime came in on the back of an environment that was created through Covid. What Joe Root had to deal with as captain was tough, so when they first came to power, they were brilliant in freeing up the players.
‘Where leadership is clever is realising where you have to change. You look at all the great football managers, they change – either personnel, the way that they play, or someone in their backroom staff to bring in a little bit of new energy.
‘If I was playing the game now, I would have my own dedicated batting coach with me, like a golfer turning up to the Ryder Cup. And on a Tuesday or a Wednesday before the Test match starts, I’d want my coach there. Rob Key (the ECB’s director of men’s cricket) would be open to that, I think.

Brittany Cartwright is candidly addressing the cosmetic procedures she underwent as part of her “mommy makeover” and discussing her openness to future enhancements.
“I don’t have any specific plans for more procedures, but I’m open to possibilities,” Cartwright, 37, shared exclusively with Us Weekly on Wednesday, April 15, while promoting the third season of The Valley. “I had my second breast augmentation filmed for TV, so any future procedures will be shared publicly,” she added.
Following the birth of her son Cruz in April 2021, Cartwright decided on a “mommy makeover” nearly four years later. In 2025, she chose to undergo a breast augmentation and a tummy tuck, later explaining on her podcast, “When Reality Hits,” that she was dealing with diastasis recti, a condition involving the separation of abdominal muscles, as well as issues like “stretch marks” and a “shelf.”
“I have not had a nose job or facial fillers, despite what some might think,” she clarified to Us Weekly. “If I had, I’d be upfront about it.”

BEIRUT (AP) — On Friday, a significant announcement came from both U.S. President Donald Trump and Iran’s Foreign Minister, declaring the Strait of Hormuz open for commercial shipping. This development comes as a 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon continues to hold.
The ceasefire provides a respite from the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Hezbollah militant faction, potentially paving the way for an agreement involving Iran, the United States, and Israel to conclude weeks of intense warfare. Despite this progress, uncertainty looms over whether Hezbollah will accept an agreement they weren’t involved in crafting, especially with Israeli forces maintaining a presence in parts of southern Lebanon.
In a message on social media, President Trump highlighted that Iran had officially stated the strait is “fully open and ready for full passage.”
Just prior to Trump’s statement, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi took to X to affirm that all commercial vessels could now freely pass through the strait, in accordance with the ongoing ceasefire in Lebanon. He noted that this openness would persist as long as the truce remained in effect.
However, questions remain regarding the status of the U.S. blockade on the strait. Trump clarified that the blockade would “remain in full force” until a formal agreement is reached between the U.S. and Iran to conclude the conflict.
Meanwhile in Beirut, barrages of gunshots rang out across the city as residents fired into the air just after midnight to celebrate the beginning of the truce, and displaced families began moving toward southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs despite warnings by officials not to attempt to return to their homes until it became clear whether the ceasefire would hold.
A spokesperson for the U.N. peacekeepers in southern Lebanon said Friday that they have not observed any airstrikes since midnight, but accused the Israeli military of violating airspace and artillery shelling in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military did not immediately comment. According to the agreement shared by the State Department, Israel can act in self-defense against imminent attacks but cannot carry out offensive operations against southern Lebanon.
Trump heralded the deal a “historic day for Lebanon,” even as he expressed confidence that the war with Iran would soon end in a Las Vegas speech.
“I will say the war in Iran is going along swimmingly,” Trump said. “It should be ending pretty soon.”
An end to Israel’s war with Hezbollah was a key demand of Iranian negotiators, who previously accused Israel of breaking the current ceasefire deal with strikes on Lebanon. Israel said that deal did not cover Lebanon.
Pakistan’s army chief met Thursday with Iran’s parliament speaker as part of international efforts to press for an extension of the ceasefire.
The fighting has killed at least 3,000 people in Iran, more than 2,100 in Lebanon, 23 in Israel and more than a dozen in Gulf Arab states. Thirteen U.S. service members have also been killed.
Israel’s hard-line Defense Minister Israel Katz warned on Friday that Israel plans to respect the ceasefire even though attempts to completely disarm Hezbollah in southern Lebanon are “not yet complete.” Katz said that Israel would continue to hold all the places it is currently stationed, including a buffer zone extending 10 kilometers (6 miles) from the border with Israel into southern Lebanon. He said that many homes in the area would be destroyed and Lebanese residents will not return to the area.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he agreed to the ceasefire “to advance” peace efforts with Lebanon, but also said Israeli troops would not withdraw.
Israeli forces have engaged in fierce battles with Hezbollah in the border area as they pushed into southern Lebanon to create what officials have called a “security zone.”
“That is where we are, and we are not leaving,” he said.
Hezbollah has said that Lebanese people have “the right to resist” Israeli occupation of their land and that their actions “will be determined based on how developments unfold.”
The U.S. State Department said that according to the agreement, Israel reserves the right to defend itself “at any time, against planned, imminent or ongoing attacks.” But otherwise, Israel “will not carry out any offensive military operations against Lebanese targets, including civilian, military, and other state targets.”
Trump announced the agreement as a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, but a Hezbollah official said the ceasefire was a result of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly.
Israel and Hezbollah have fought several wars and have been fighting on and off since the day after the start of the Gaza war. Israel and Lebanon reached a deal to end that war in November 2024, but Israel has kept up near-daily strikes in what it says is an effort to prevent the Iran-backed militant group from regrouping. That escalated into another invasion after Hezbollah again began firing missiles at Israel in response to its war on Iran.
The agreement came after a meeting between Israel’s and Lebanon’s ambassadors in Washington and a flurry of subsequent phone calls from Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, according to a White House official.
They were the first direct diplomatic talks between the two countries in decades. Hezbollah had opposed direct talks between Lebanon and Israel.
Trump spoke Wednesday evening with Netanyahu, who agreed to a ceasefire with certain terms, according to the official, who was not authorized to comment publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.
Rubio then called Lebanon’s president, Joseph Aoun, who got on board. Trump then spoke with Aoun, and again with Netanyahu.
The State Department worked with both governments to formulate a memorandum of understanding for the truce.
Pakistan’s army chief met Thursday with Iran’s parliament speaker as part of efforts to press for an extension to a ceasefire that has paused almost seven weeks of war between Israel, the U.S. and Iran.
Even as the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports and renewed Iranian threats strained the ceasefire, regional officials reported progress, telling AP the United States and Iran had an “in-principle agreement” to extend it to allow for more diplomacy. They spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive negotiations.
Mediators are pushing for a compromise on three main sticking points: Iran’s nuclear program, the Strait of Hormuz and compensation for wartime damages, according to a regional official involved in the mediation efforts.
Trump suggested the ceasefire could be extended.
“If we’re close to a deal, would I extend?” Trump said in an exchange with reporters. “Yeah, I would do that.”
An ICE agent, Gregory Morgan Jr., has found himself at the center of a legal storm in Minnesota, accused of wielding his firearm inappropriately during a traffic altercation. According to Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty, Morgan allegedly directed his gun at two individuals amid the rush hour chaos, leading to felony charges against him. This case raises significant questions concerning the extent of federal agents’ immunity when confronted with state law violations.
The incident involving Morgan unfolded as part of the broader “Operation Metro Surge,” a federal immigration enforcement initiative that has sparked both protests and intense scrutiny in the Minneapolis area. On February 5, Morgan reportedly accelerated his vehicle, drove alongside another car on Highway 62, and pointed his official firearm at the occupants, as detailed by Moriarty during a recent press conference.
In an unexpected twist, while Morgan faces these serious allegations, no charges have been pursued regarding a separate incident where Turning Point USA reporter Savanah Hernandez was attacked. This disparity in legal action highlights the complexities and challenges within the justice system, particularly when federal operations intersect with local jurisdictions.
Mary Moriarty has responded to the situation by issuing a nationwide arrest warrant for Morgan, a move that underscores the gravity of the charges. As the case unfolds, it is bound to provoke further discussion about the legal boundaries and responsibilities of federal agents operating within individual states.
Morgan “sped up, pulled alongside the vehicle, matched its speed, opened his window and pointed his duty weapon directly at both victims,” Moriarty said during a press conference.

According to a criminal complaint, the incident unfolded around 4:20 p.m. near the Interstate 35W interchange as traffic slowed to a single lane. Prosecutors said Morgan drove on the shoulder to bypass congestion before pulling alongside the victims and pointing a handgun at their heads.
Investigators said Morgan was driving a rented SUV with no markings identifying it as a federal vehicle. Both victims said they felt threatened by his actions, according to the complaint.
Investigators said Morgan was not responding to an emergency at the time and told authorities he was heading back to the Whipple Federal Building to end his shift and get gas.
Morgan told investigators he feared for his safety, yelled “Police! Stop,” and believed the individuals were “agitators” who cut him off because he was a federal agent, according to the complaint.
Authorities have issued a nationwide warrant for Morgan’s arrest. He faces two counts of second-degree assault, each punishable by up to seven years in prison. Bail was set at $100,000, with conditions including no possession of weapons and compliance with all court appearances.

Moriarty said the case moved more quickly than other investigations tied to Operation Metro Surge because authorities were able to complete their work “without obstruction or interference.”
“Today’s charges reflect an important milestone in our efforts to seek accountability,” Moriarty said, adding that her office is continuing to investigate more than a dozen other incidents involving federal agents.
Prosecutors are also reviewing whether to file charges against individuals accused of assaulting Hernandez during an anti-ICE protest outside the Whipple Federal Building last weekend.
Protesters swarmed Hernandez while she was reporting, blowing horns in her face, yelling obscenities and shoving her as she attempted to leave, according to video from the scene.
At one point, a protester pushed Hernandez into a fence, and another later shoved her to the ground as she yelled, “Stop touching me” and “Leave me, I am trying to leave!”

Hernandez later said she suffered minor injuries, including scrapes and soreness.
A spokesperson for the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office told Fox News Digital that three cases tied to the Hernandez incident have been submitted by law enforcement and are under review for potential charges, though a timeline for a decision remains unclear.
The cases were submitted out of custody, meaning no arrests were made at the time.
The FBI has opened a federal investigation. No charging decision has been announced.

A memo from Disney’s recently appointed CEO, Josh D’Amaro, unveiled on Tuesday, detailed the dismissals, revealing that approximately 1,000 employees would be let go, according to insider information.
D’Amaro attributed the decision to the “swift evolution of our industries,” emphasizing that the dynamic environment necessitates a workforce that is more adaptable and technologically advanced to address future demands.
Condé Nast’s CEO, Roger Lynch, echoed this sentiment in a memo circulated on Thursday, indicating a comparable approach.
Lynch noted that the company plans to implement “changes within our technology organization,” driven by the rapid progress of AI and its influence on their capacity to innovate and accelerate product development.
‘Teams will be restructured to be more agile and to work more closely with our brands and customers, reducing barriers to execution,’ he said.
The C-suiter said Condé’s long-running title Self will also soon close. A Condé spokesperson declined to comment.

Barry said that ‘as the title’s business model evolved,’ she ‘made clear’ to longtime Vogue and Condé Nast chief Anna Wintour ‘that this was the right moment to leave.’
She said that she was ‘pursu[ing] new projects.’
Self’s content, meanwhile, will be folded into Condé’s other brands, the company said. The magazine became online-only in 2017. Its content had centered around health and wellness.
Late last year, Condé folded Teen Vogue into Vogue.com after 22 years.
Chloe Malle was named Vogue’s new head of editorial content a few months before, replacing the legendary Wintour. Titles like The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and Wired were once under her remit.
At the time, a New York Times op-ed acknowledged the massive media shift.
A media mammoth once known for its dominance was visibly on the decline, the piece observed.
‘People no longer read print magazines the way they used to,’ correspondent Michael Grynbaum wrote. ‘[Vogue] still is a global brand… but now there are thousands of influencers and social media channels where people get ideas about dressing and glamor and clothing and taste.’

Disney, meanwhile, did away with staffers across its studios, TV networks, and product and technology and corporate groups, according to a Tuesday report from Variety.
D’Amaro wrote the cuts will ‘streamline our operations in various parts of the company to ensure we deliver the world-class creativity and innovation our fans value and expect from Disney.’
Disney owns networks like ABC News. It has laid off more than 8,000 staffers since former CEO Bob Iger took the reins in 2022 once again following a short-lived retirement and disastrous CEO stint from Bob Chapek.
Layoffs have been widespread in media in recent years.
Competitors like Sony, Paramount, and Warner Bros. have made their own cuts.
More reductions are expected if Paramount closes its $111 billion acquisition of Warner. Disney had roughly 230,000 full and part-time employees in September 2025, Variety reported.
The Daily Mail approached Disney for comment.

During a recent appearance on The View, where he discussed his involvement in Broadway’s Titanique, Parsons was reminded of his 12-season journey on the CBS sitcom. Alyssa Farah Griffin described Sheldon Cooper as “one of the most beloved characters in all of television.” Although Parsons jokingly questioned why Sheldon holds such a cherished spot, Griffin prodded him about whether he misses portraying the eccentric scientist and if he might entertain the idea of a reboot.
Parsons was candid in his response, stating, “I don’t believe I would do a reboot.” He elaborated, “I can’t say I miss him, partly because, especially 12 years on a TV show where they’re writing for this specific actor, there’s a lot of me in that. Not the genius part, but there’s a lot of me in that.”
He went on to explain that many of Sheldon’s characteristics and his overall persona remain with him, and the actor still encounters a strong fan response to his iconic character.
“The longer it goes on, I’m more and more surprised when people approach me about it,” Parsons confessed. “Not because I’m stupid, but because I’m like, oh, it makes sense. But I’m just not thinking it. But it’s always really sweet.”
Parsons noted the slew of people that have highlighted the power of the sitcom in helping them navigate obstacles like “sickness” and “a bad time in life.”
“It’s very moving because when you take a job as a younger actor on a sitcom TV show, I don’t think many people think it can have some sort of bigger effect than that,” he said. “And that’s really sweet.”
While Parsons may not reprise the role in the future, he did return to the role for an appearance in the series finale of the Big Bang Theory prequel series, Young Sheldon. Parson also narrated and executive produced the series starring Iain Armitage as a young Sheldon Cooper.
