Authorities Seek Individual Captured on CCTV Following Disturbing Cleaner Discovery

0

Authorities responded to an urgent call on January 24 at a short-term rental property in Keilor East, Belle Vista, after a cleaner discovered a cache of suspicious items. Among the findings were explosives, firearms, $1 million in cash, and a significant amount of drugs.

Police suspect that these items are connected to organized crime activities.

The Bomb Response Unit was dispatched to the site, where they successfully neutralized several explosive devices.

The property had been rented for several weeks in January. During this time, investigators noted the frequent presence of a rented white Toyota Camry, which was seen traveling to and from the location.

Security footage captured an individual refueling the Camry at a gas station on Western Ring Road in Ardeer South on December 25.

Police want to speak to the man seen in the footage and urge anybody who recognises him to come forward.

The Camry was seized by police on January 24 and returned to the hire company.

Officers were called to the Belle Vista property in Keilor East around 11.30pm after a number of items were located.

The man in the CCTV is not the man who hired the car, police added.

Investigators said the man who hired the car has been spoken to but “has not been co-operative”.

“I would urge anyone out there who recognises this man or who has any information on the items located at this accommodation to do the right thing and come forward,” Major Drug Squad Detective Inspector Jamie Walker said.

“This was not a run-of-the-mill seizure of drugs and cash – there were incendiary devices and a large quantity of firearms.

“This is organised crime.

“We will track down those responsible and hold them to account. It would be in your best interests to tell us what you know now.”

Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV or with any further information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Explosive Revelation: Congressman Tony Gonzales Resigns Amid Scandalous Affair Exposure

0

On Monday, Congressman Tony Gonzales announced his resignation following a scandal revealed by The Daily Mail, which involved a staff member who tragically set herself on fire.

Gonzales, a Republican who had earlier decided not to seek reelection, shared his thoughts on social media platform X, stating, “There is a season for everything and God has a plan for us all.”

He subsequently declared his plans to step down from his congressional role.

“When Congress reconvenes tomorrow, I will submit my resignation,” Gonzales stated. “Serving the wonderful people of Texas has been my honor.”

His departure comes on the heels of Democrat Eric Swalwell’s resignation, with both lawmakers facing ethics investigations.

The announcement is a month after Gonzales announced he would end his reelection bid after he finished in second place in the jungle primary.

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson and others had called for Gonzales to drop out.

He had initially promised that for the rest of his term, he would show ‘the same commitment I’ve always had to my district.’

However, Politico reported Monday that Gonzales was set to face an expulsion vote before the House alongside Swalwell, who quit minutes earlier.

For months, speculation has swirled over whether or not the Texan would fess up to the allegation, which was first reported in October 2025. And he came under mounting pressure to resign from his position of power after sexually charged texts between Gonzales and Aviles were released.

The bombshell correspondence showed the married congressman petitioning his staffer for inappropriate pictures and asking her about sexual preferences.

‘We have encouraged him to address these very serious allegations directly with his constituents and his colleagues,’ the joint statement continued.

One day after his primary race, and as calls for his resignation from Republicans and Democrats reached a boiling point, Gonzales admitted to the affair.

He called it a ‘mistake’ and a ‘lapse in judgment.’ He added: ‘I take full responsibility for those actions. Since then, I have reconciled with my wife, Angel. I’ve asked God to forgive me, which he has. And my faith is as strong as ever.’

His admission came just after the House Ethics Committee announced an investigation into the Texan’s conduct following a report from the Office of Congressional Conduct (OCC) indicating ‘substantial reason to believe’ Gonzales was embroiled in the affair. It is against congressional rules for a member to have an affair with a subordinate.

When pressed about Gonzales’s admission, Johnson did not let much slip but admitted it was ‘not against the law.’

‘I’m not going to get into private conversations,’ Johnson told Punchbowl News. ‘But I’ve told him to be forthright. Apparently now he’s doing that.’

When asked whether Gonzales should remain in Congress, given the scandal, the top Republican – and devout Christian – played coy.

‘Marital infidelity is not against the law,’ Johnson said.

Reminded that it’s against House rules for a member to have an affair with a staffer, Johnson admitted it was.

‘Well, of course, yeah. That’s being addressed. There is an investigation at Ethics. The OCC is on it. All those steps have already been taken and apparently were underway.’

‘I’ve always been consistent, whether you’re talking about Republicans or Democrats, we let the processes play out,’ the speaker added.

Both Democrats and Republicans have called on Gonzales to resign, or at a minimum, drop his bid for reelection.

Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace of South Carolina accused Gonzales of ‘harassing his own staffer in the middle of the night’ and has called on him to ‘resign immediately and be held fully accountable for what he’s done.’

Mace filed a resolution to force the House Ethics Committee to release its reports on sexual misconduct by members.

However, the House decisively voted to send the resolution to committee – a move that effectively killed Mace’s effort to expose the reports.

‘I think it’s really disgusting how this institution protects itself,’ Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna of Florida fumed.

‘We just had a Member of Congress literally sexually harass a woman that then lit herself on fire and you all protected him!’ she decried at a committee hearing. ‘You guys all protected him! My own side, your side.’

This week, Luna filed a censure resolution – one of the most severe punishments in Congress outside of expulsion – against Gonzales for his misconduct.

Chairman of the Congressional Democratic Women’s Caucus, Teresa Leger Fernandez, in addition to scores of other liberal lawmakers, has also called for Gonzales’s resignation.

‘Representative Tony Gonzales’s actions would result in a termination and investigation in any other workplace.’

‘Representative Gonzales should resign,’ she added, noting his ‘abuse of power.’

Gonzales’s position seemed even more tenuous after he finished second in the Republican Primary to return to his seat to Brandon Herrera, a conservative YouTuber known as ‘The AK Guy.’

His competitor finished first with 43.3 percent of the vote to Gonzales’s 41.7 percent.

The two of them would have faced a run-off election in late May to determine the Republican nominee in the November midterms.

See How the Cast of ‘In Living Color’ Has Transformed Over the Years: Then and Now

0

In the realm of sketch comedy, few shows have ever truly challenged the dominance of “Saturday Night Live” on network television. However, “In Living Color” emerged as a remarkable exception, carving out its own niche with an edgier, more youthful vibe that resonated with urban audiences. It broke new ground with a predominantly Black cast at a time when most sketch shows featured only a token presence of Black performers, often misusing or underutilizing their talents.

“In Living Color” not only entertained but also served as a launchpad for numerous stars, including one actor who eventually commanded record-breaking salaries per film. While some of the show’s alumni have remained in the limelight since its conclusion in 1994, others have either stepped back or shifted away from the public eye. No matter their paths, it’s intriguing to reflect on how these seasoned “In Living Color” cast members appeared during the show’s run compared to how they look today.

Keenen Ivory Wayans, the creative force behind the show, initially supported his extensive family by working at McDonald’s before his breakthrough in entertainment. His journey to sketch comedy wasn’t direct; he first made a mark in films, co-writing the satire “Hollywood Shuffle” and later writing and directing the cult classic blaxploitation parody “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.” Although he acted in both films, his passion clearly lay behind the camera, which explained his limited on-screen appearances on “In Living Color,” especially after the first season.

By the fourth season, Wayans had ceased appearing in sketches due to conflicts with Fox over censorship and creative direction. Initially, he continued to introduce the show and contributed to the writing team, but eventually, he departed from “In Living Color” entirely, both on-screen and off.

Keenan Ivory Wayans

In 1994, Wayans showcased his versatility by writing, directing, and starring in “A Low Down Dirty Shame,” one of the few films where he took a lead role. In subsequent years, he shifted focus to behind-the-scenes work, with the bulk of his credits in the 2000s involving writing and directing projects for his brothers, Shawn and Marlon Wayans.

By Season 4, Wayans had stopped appearing in sketches for “In Living Color” entirely, though it was due to issues with Fox over censorship and other creative differences. He initially still did the introduction for the show and remained a part of the credited writing staff, but midway through Season 4, he had fully exited “In Living Color” on both sides of the camera.

In 1994, Keenan wrote, directed, and starred in the movie “A Low Down Dirty Shame,” one of only a few films in which he played a lead role. Beyond a few minor acting credits here and there, Wayans largely preferred to work behind the scenes in the 2000s and beyond, with most of his screen credits consisting of writing and/or directing films for his brothers Shawn and Marlon.

T’Keyah Crystal Keymáh

Not only a member of the original cast, but one of only four performers to stay for all five seasons, “In Living Color” was also the first screen credit for T’Keyah Crystal Keymáh. Even so, she easily held her own among a cast that included several seasoned actors, stealing many sketches with hilarious impersonations of Whoopi Goldberg, Diana Ross, Janet Jackson, and Eartha Kitt. But Keymáh was just as gifted at writing and portraying original characters, with early fan-favorite characters like Cryssy, Lashawn, and Shawanda.

Keymáh remained prolific on television for the first few years after “In Living Color” ended, playing series regular roles on the sitcoms “On Our Own” and “Cosby.” She also appeared in the movie “Jackie Brown,” her first credited role in a film. But it was when Keymáh joined the cast of “That’s So Raven” as Raven’s mother that she landed the role with which many people — especially those of a certain age — will always associate her. She later reprised that role in an episode of the “That’s So Raven” sequel series “Raven’s Home.”

Kelly Coffield

Though she played a small role in the classic 1989 sports film “Field of Dreams” as well as a 1990 made-for-TV holiday movie, “In Living Color” served as Kelly Coffield’s true introduction as an actor and comedic performer. She remained on the sketch comedy series through its first four seasons, often playing raunchy characters that were in hilarious juxtaposition to her innocent, small-town girl appearance.

Coffield clearly made a lot of friends during her time on “In Living Color.” She has frequently popped up in Wayans Bros. films and TV shows, as well as “The Jamie Foxx Show” and Jim Carrey’s Showtime series “Kidding.” She also married “In Living Color” co-star Steve Park in 1999. Coffield seems to have pulled back on film and television as of late, without a single credit in either arena in the 2020s thus far. Her Instagram account suggests that she has shifted her professional focus to live theater, when she’s not spending time and traveling with her husband and their two children.

David Alan Grier

As mentioned, some of the original cast members of “In Living Color” had already been kicking around as actors for some time before the show premiered. David Alan Grier is one such actor. He had eight films — including “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka” — 11 television credits, and even multiple Broadway roles to his name before “In Living Color” debuted. Another O.G. cast member who stuck with the show to the end, Grier was in two of the earliest breakout recurring sketches on “In Living Color”: “Men on Film” and “Funky Finger Productions.”

Grier had already starred in the Eddie Murphy rom-com “Boomerang” before “In Living Color” even ended, and soon added the massive hit “Jumanji” to his filmography. Ironically, he’s among the actors who refused roles in Jim Carrey movies. He claims to have been initially offered the lead role in “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” but turned it down because he didn’t find the script funny. Of course, it was the movie that put Carrey on the road to becoming one of the highest-paid actors of the ’90s.

Grier did just fine for himself, though. He has had one of the busiest careers of any “In Living Color” alum, starring in numerous films and television shows across the ensuing 30 years. Grier has also continued working in live theater, winning a Tony Award in 2020 for his work in “A Soldier’s Play.”

Shawn Wayans

Technically, Shawn Wayans wasn’t an actual cast member on “In Living Color” when the show first began. Point of fact, he started out as the show’s DJ — credited as SW-1 and seen only behind turntables as the show’s Fly Girls dance troupe performed during the opening credits and in the transitions between commercial breaks. But he slowly started to appear in sketches here and there, eventually graduating to full-time featured cast member from Season 3 until the Wayans family’s exodus at the end of Season 4.

Shawn Wayans, alongside his brother Marlon, who only briefly joined the “In Living Color” cast in Season 4 before the family’s aforementioned departure, co-created and starred in the sitcom “The Wayans Bros.” between 1995 and 1999. The pair remained close creative partners, co-writing and starring in the films “Scary Movie,” “Scary Movie 2,” “White Chicks,” and “Little Man,” all of which were directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans.

When he’s not writing or acting, Shawn still DJs, performs as a stand-up comedian, and is the co-creator of “The Boo Crew,” which initially ran as an animated special on Nickelodeon in 2006 but continues to have a presence on the internet and through live shows.

Kim Coles

We mentioned in the introduction to this feature that this list would prioritize the longest-serving members of the “In Living Color” cast. The exception to that is Kim Coles, who left the show after one season. However, she was part of the show’s original cast, so we felt she deserved recognition and would be worthy of a check-in to see what she’s been up to. Of course, the ’90s television comedy Coles is most well known for is “Living Single,” the pioneering sitcom she starred in alongside Queen Latifah, Kim Fields, Erica Alexander, and T.C. Carson.

Coles was subsequently a main or recurring cast member on “Days of Our Lives,” “The Geena Davis Show,” “One on One,” “The Soul Man,” “10 Items or Less,” and animated series “Vampirina: Teenage Vampire.” She has also hosted, judged, or served as a panelist on various stand-up comedy showcases and reality shows over the years. Though Coles only has a handful of film credits to her name, she appeared in two movies in 2025: “Hungry” and “Love, Danielle.” Also in 2025, she launched the “ReLiving Single” podcast with her “Living Single” co-star Erika Alexander.

Tommy Davidson

The third of the four “In Living Color” cast members to be with the show through its entire run was Tommy Davidson. When he wasn’t impersonating Michael Jackson, Sugar Ray Leonard, or Sammy Davis Jr., Davidson was the show’s best supporting player. Characters like Homey D. Clown and Fire Marshall Bill wouldn’t have worked without Davidson as the perfect foil to play off of. He was also the other half of the Sticky Fingers Production recurring sketch with David Alan Grier.

Davidson had already been an established stand-up comedian before “In Living Color,” and the fame the show brought him only further catapulted that career. As an actor, he has appeared in numerous films, including “Booty Call,” “CB4,” “Bamboozled,” and “Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls.” Davidson is also a frequent guest star on sitcoms. In addition to voice roles in “Ren & Stimpy,” “Duckman,” and Adult Swim’s “Black Dynamite,” Davidson has played patriarch Oscar Proud across numerous iterations of the “Proud Family” animated franchise for over 20 years and counting.

Kim Wayans

The Wayans family doesn’t consist of only brothers. Kim Wayans has been the most prominent female member of the Wayans clan, initially playing small roles in “Hollywood Shuffle” and “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka” before joining the cast of “In Living Color.” But Wayans had also established herself as an actor on her own terms, playing a recurring role in the first season of “Cosby Show” spin-off “A Different World,” as well as appearances on “China Beach” and “Dream On.”

After “In Living Color,” Kim once again proved that she could land roles just fine without the help of her brothers when she joined the main cast of the LL Cool J sitcom “In the House.” Like Keenen Ivory Wayans, she’s also demonstrated a contentment with working entirely behind the scenes, serving as a writer, producer, and director of the Damon Wayans sitcom “My Wife and Kids” despite never once appearing on the show as an actor. Similarly, other than 2026’s “Scary Movie” and a brief voice cameo in the series “Poppa’s House,” Wayans’ screen credits since 2021 have all been off-camera roles only.

Damon Wayans

Though Keenen Wayans was the creator of “In Living Color”, and Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans became the Wayans Bros., it’s tough to argue that Damon Wayans wasn’t initially the family’s biggest breakout member on the show. Characters like Homey D. Clown, Anton Jackson, and Godfrey Hedley were some of the show’s most quotable characters, and the wonderfully ridiculous Head Detective took “In Living Color” into surreal, almost “Monty Python’s Flying Circus”-esque territory. Damon was also the other half of Men on Film, one of the show’s most well-known recurring sketches.

Damon Ways had become such a big star during his tenure on “In Living Color” that he had downgraded himself to just a featured player by Season 4. By then, he was already starring in big Hollywood movies, even before Jim Carrey had made that jump. “The Last Boy Scout,” “Mo’ Money,” “Major Payne,” “Blankman,” and “Bulletproof” are just a few of the movies he’d already knocked out in just the ’90s alone.

In the 2000s and beyond, he mostly returned to television, co-creating and starring in the sitcom “My Wife and Kids,” creating and starring in Showtime sketch comedy series “The Underground,” playing Roger Murtagh in Fox’s television adaptation of “Lethal Weapon,” and most recently, co-creating and starring in CBS’ “Poppa’s House” alongside his son, Damon Wayans, Jr.

Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx has an interesting place in the history of “In Living Color,” not joining the show until Season 3 — and even then, only as a featured player. He wouldn’t become a full cast member until the show’s generally maligned fifth and final season. Even with all that, he is one of the show’s most successful alums. Foxx went on to have many memorable roles, including one that earned him an Oscar nomination and another that netted him an Oscar win — in the same year, to boot. It’s not every day that a sketch comedy alum becomes an Academy Award-winning actor.

On top of the two alluded to roles that earned him Oscar recognition — in “Ray” and “Collateral” — Foxx has racked up an impressive filmography that covers just about every genre. He’s worked with several filmmakers of note, including Quentin Tarantino, Oliver Stone, Michael Mann, and Edgar Wright. And that’s to say nothing of his hit sitcom “The Jamie Foxx Show,” or his multiple hit singles, best-selling albums, and Grammy Award as a musician. Which, if you’re keeping track, has him halfway to an EGOT.

Jim Carrey

When it comes to which member of “In Living Color” had the biggest career after the show, there’s no debate — James Carrey (as he was credited on the show) takes that distinction by a mile. He was a breakout star from almost the beginning, dominating the screen with his manic energy, whether he was delivering eerily flawless impersonations or bringing iconic original characters like Fire Marshall Bill or Vera de Milo to life. To his credit, Carrey stuck with “In Living Color” until the end, despite having three films — “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” “The Mask,” and “Dumb & Dumber” — all lined up to release the same year that the show ended.

But it’s possible that Carrey was playing it safe and sticking with his steady day job because of what he’d endured in show business up to that point. A sometimes forgotten truth about Jim Carrey is that he’d been kicking around in film and television for a decade before “In Living Color,” always knocking at the door of becoming the next big thing but never quite getting there. However, after the aforementioned trio of ’94 comedies, Carrey’s days of languishing in obscurity were long over. If there is any actor on this list whose post-“In Living Color” career doesn’t need explaining, it’s Jim Carrey.

Florida Governor Hopeful Kevin Cichowski Arrested for Alleged Assault on Parents, Shocking Political Arena

0

A shocking incident has emerged from Florida involving a gubernatorial candidate, Kevin Cichowski, who has been arrested under grave charges. Cichowski, who is in the race to succeed Governor Ron DeSantis, is facing multiple accusations including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery on individuals aged over 65.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has released a detailed report stating that Cichowski is also charged with aggravated battery, tampering with a witness, and robbery by sudden snatching. This serious situation is unfolding as Cichowski was aspiring for one of the state’s highest offices.

Efforts to reach out to Cichowski’s campaign for a statement have so far been unsuccessful, as no immediate response has been provided to inquiries from Oxygen.

The incident reportedly took place on April 10, when authorities responded to a disturbance at the Palm Coast residence of Cichowski and his elderly parents, Stanley and Christine Cichowski. According to the charging affidavit obtained by Oxygen, the police were alerted by Christine, who is bedridden, following the violent altercation.

In a distressing call to 911, Christine revealed that her son, Kevin, had attacked his father with a cane and had thrown a phone at her, leading to injuries and bleeding for both parents. The allegations paint a troubling picture of domestic violence involving an individual seeking public office.

The couple claimed the conflict started the previous evening when Kevin unplugged their TV because he wanted to go to bed, according to the affidavit. When Stanley attempted to fix it, Kevin allegedly struck him with Stanley’s cane. Then, when Christine said she was calling 911, Kevin allegedly snatched her phone and hit her on the head with it, causing a laceration and later a contusion.

He also allegedly threw a remote in his mother’s direction and, when she ducked, slapped her, per the affidavit.

At one point, Stanley grabbed a revolver, telling police it was for protection, per the doc. But Kevin allegedly snatched it from his dad’s hands, hit him with it, pointed it at him and threatened to kill both his parents. He also allegedly said he would shoot responding officers in the legs.

When Kevin left the room, Stanley locked the door, while Christine finally called 911.

Police found the couple hiding in their bedroom, per the press release, and ordered Kevin to surrender.

“I haven’t done anything wrong,” he told officers during his detainment, as seen in footage obtained by Oxygen. “This is insane.”

While being transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, Kevin began making “suicidal statements,” the press released noted, “and was placed into protective custody under a Baker Act.” The Florida law offers crisis services for those experiencing mental illness, according to its website.

In 2024, Kevin—who previously campaigned for mayor of Palm Coast in 2021—was arrested for kidnapping and domestic battery by strangulation against his wife, police noted in the affidavit, for which he was not convicted.

Kevin’s arraignment hearing is scheduled for May 5, according to court documents. Oxygen could not reach an attorney for Kevin.

Search Warrant Uncovers Drugs and Firearms in Washington County, VA, Reports Sheriff’s Office

ABINGDON, Va. (WJHL) – Last Wednesday, the Special Response Team (SRT) from the Washington County, VA Sheriff’s Office conducted a search operation in the Long Hollow vicinity, leading to the discovery of drugs and firearms.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) reported that during the search, officers uncovered methamphetamine, cocaine, and psilocybin, alongside cash and several firearms.

Following the completion of the search, authorities departed to secure felony warrants for Tommy Neil Fulton and Eva Christine Porter.

Shortly thereafter, the police were alerted to Fulton’s return to the property. Upon their arrival, Fulton allegedly ignored law enforcement’s presence and refused to leave the premises, as stated by the WCSO.

Consequently, a second set of search and arrest warrants was obtained, and SRT members, with the assistance of a K-9 unit, executed the operation. Fulton was apprehended after a brief standoff.

Tommy Neil Fulton, 49, of Abingdon, Va., was charged with:

  • 4 counts: Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance
  • Unlawfully possessing a controlled substance while possessing a firearm
  • 3 counts: Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Eva Christine Porter, 53 of Abingdon, Va., was charged with:

  • 3 counts: Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance
  • Unlawfully possessing a controlled substance while possessing a firearm

Fulton is being held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail. Porter was arrested on April 9 and is also being held without bond.

Banishing Belly Overhang: 5 Standing Exercises to Transform Your Core After 50

0

A certified fitness trainer has suggested that five specific standing exercises can more effectively reduce belly overhang than traditional Pilates routines.

For individuals over 50, the issue of belly overhang is often linked to the engagement of deep core muscles throughout daily activities, rather than just during exercise sessions. While Pilates is known for enhancing control and flexibility, many clients experience quicker improvements by incorporating standing exercises. These moves compel the core to stabilize in everyday positions, offering practical benefits. Years of coaching older adults have demonstrated that the body responds best to consistent, targeted tension applied in real-world scenarios.

Standing exercises impose a continuous demand on the body. They train the abdominal muscles to stay engaged during movements like reaching and balancing, which are common in daily life. This type of activation ensures that the muscles responsible for maintaining a flat stomach are active more frequently, not solely during workout sessions.

A further benefit of these exercises is their simplicity. They require no special equipment and are easy to incorporate into a daily routine. This regular practice can yield results more rapidly than sporadic, longer workout sessions. With consistent core activation, the muscles begin to tighten and adapt, leading to noticeable improvements.

Another advantage comes from simplicity. These movements require no setup and feel accessible enough to perform daily. That consistency drives results far faster than occasional longer sessions. When the core receives steady activation, it begins to tighten and respond.

The following exercises target the lower abs, obliques, and deep stabilizers that support the belly. Move slowly, stay tall, and focus on pulling your midsection inward during every repetition. That’s where the change happens.

Standing Knee Drives With Hold

This exercise locks in lower-abdominal activation while improving balance and coordination. I use it constantly because it teaches the core to stabilize the body during movement instead of relaxing between reps. That continuous engagement plays a huge role in flattening the lower belly over time.

Holding the knee at the top forces the abdominal muscles to contract deeply. As fatigue builds, the body naturally wants to lean back or shift position. Staying upright and controlled keeps the tension exactly where it needs to be. Over time, this strengthens the lower core in a way that carries into everyday movement.

How to Do It

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart
  • Lift one knee toward your chest
  • Hold for 2–3 seconds
  • Keep your core tight and posture upright
  • Lower slowly and alternate.

Standing Cross-Body Crunch

This movement strengthens the entire abdominal wall, with a strong emphasis on the obliques. I rely on it because tightening the sides of the core helps pull the midsection inward and improve overall definition.

Bringing the elbow toward the opposite knee creates a deep contraction across the core. Performing the movement slowly keeps the muscles under tension longer, which leads to better activation. Many clients feel this one working almost immediately when done with control.

How to Do It

  • Stand tall with your hands behind your head
  • Lift one knee across your body
  • Bring the opposite elbow toward the knee
  • Return slowly
  • Alternate sides continuously.

Standing Forward Reach With Core Brace

This exercise targets the deep stabilizing muscles that support the spine and hold the stomach in. I include it often because it teaches the body to maintain tension while shifting forward, something the core must handle during daily movement.

Reaching forward while bracing the core forces the abdominal muscles to stabilize and control the motion. That sustained engagement helps rebuild the support system that flattens the belly over time.

How to Do It

  • Stand tall with arms extended forward
  • Tighten your core
  • Reach slightly forward from the hips
  • Return slowly
  • Repeat with control.

Standing Side Knee Raises

Side knee raises bring the obliques and lower abs together in one controlled movement. I use this exercise because it strengthens the muscles that shape the waist while improving coordination.

Lifting the knee to the side forces the core to stabilize and control the motion. When done slowly, the muscles stay engaged from start to finish, which increases effectiveness.

How to Do It

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart
  • Lift one knee out to the side
  • Keep your core tight
  • Lower slowly
  • Alternate sides.

Standing March With Core Tightening

This final movement reinforces core engagement through continuous motion. I often finish routines with this because it builds endurance and trains the core to stay active over time.

Each knee lift forces the abdominal muscles to stabilize the body. Moving slowly keeps the tension consistent, which helps strengthen the muscles responsible for holding the stomach in.

How to Do It

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart
  • Lift one knee at a time
  • Keep your core tight

Lakers Gear Up for High-Stakes NBA Playoff Clash Against Houston Rockets

0

Over the past six weeks, Lakers coach JJ Redick has been consistently emphasizing the importance of concentrating on his own team’s development rather than worrying about their opponents. This approach was aimed at cultivating a strong mindset as the playoffs approached.

However, this strategy took a back seat as soon as the regular season concluded with the Lakers’ victory over the Jazz on Sunday night.

With the regular season now behind them, the Lakers, who finished with a record of 53-29, have shifted their complete focus to the Houston Rockets. The Rockets, with a close 52-30 record, are set to face the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs, having secured the fourth and fifth spots in the Western Conference standings, respectively.

The highly anticipated Game 1 will take place on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Crypto.com Arena.

Looking at the numbers, the Rockets ended their season with a sixth-place finish in net rating, boasting a plus-5.4, while the Lakers ranked 14th with a plus-1.5 rating. This statistical context adds an intriguing layer to the upcoming playoff clash.

They’re one of six teams that finished the regular season top-10 in both offensive rating (eighth) and defensive rating (sixth), which is typically a good marker for whether a team is a contender.

“Houston’s obviously a really, really good basketball team,” Redick said. “We’re going to prepare, and we’re going to fight and we’re going to go try to win a series.”

Redick added: “We’re going to do everything we can to get our guys in a great frame of mind and great physical shape over the next four or five days and be ready to play.”

An obvious storyline going into the playoff series will be LeBron James vs. Kevin Durant — a matchup between two of the greatest players of their generation.

It’ll mark the fourth time the legendary players meet up in the playoffs, and the first time in a non-NBA Finals series, after James’ Heat beat Durant’s Thunder in the 2012 Finals before Durant’s Warriors beat James’ Cavaliers in the ‘17 and ‘18 Finals.

For the Lakers, the top-of-the-line strategies for their series against the Rockets start with Durant, who’s in line to make his 12th All-NBA team, and Alperen Sengun, who averaged 20.4 points and 6.2 assists in his second All-Star season.

“Those are the two heads of the snake,” Marcus Smart said. “Making sure we keep those guys under control. Can’t let those other players get off as well. But the focus is those two guys and just going out there and making it as tough as possible for them.”

The Rockets’ physicality will also be a focus after they led the league in offensive rebounding percentage.

“For me, we know it and these guys know my motto: ‘The toughest team sets the rule’,” Smart said. “And the playoffs are a little bit different. Things are a lot tougher. They let you play a lot more and I think that works to my advantage and our advantage.”

In the backdrop of the playoff series will be the Lakers being without star guards Luka Doncic (Grade 2 left hamstring strain) and Austin Reaves (Grade 2 left oblique strain) to start the first round – and probably longer.

Not only will they be without two of their best players and ball handlers, but the spirit of their team took a hit when both suffered their regular season-ending injuries during the April 2 road loss to the Thunder in Oklahoma City.

The Lakers went 3-2 in the five games they closed out the season without their star duo in what was both a mental and emotional test.

“This team needs great spirit and we need our remaining guys to be healthy,” Redick said. “That was our focus last week. It’s gonna be our focus this week: Building our capacity physically, making sure we don’t do too much, making sure we don’t do too little, making sure we get through the week healthy. And then the spirit, again, creating that belief. We’ve done that with this group over these last few games and we’ve gotta continue that going into Game 1.”

Resiliency has been a common theme for the Lakers in 2025-26.

They hope that remains the case.

“You’re playing one opponent in the playoffs and there’s a bunch of things that are gonna happen,” Redick said. “Some good, some bad. You may get down in a series. You may get down in the game, you may get down in the game on the road. And just you have to play with resiliency.”

Trump’s McDonald’s Delivery Surprise: Meet the ‘DoorDash Grandma’ Thriving from Tax-Free Tips

0

On a seemingly ordinary Monday afternoon, President Donald Trump welcomed a special guest to the White House—a DoorDash delivery driver carrying a rather unique delivery. In a moment that seemed to blend political policy with everyday life, Sharon Simmons arrived with two bags of McDonald’s, courtesy of the president’s “No Tax on Tips” initiative. Her visit was more than just a simple delivery; it highlighted a significant policy change under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

As Simmons, whose husband is currently battling cancer, handed over the fast food bags outside the Oval Office, President Trump acknowledged her effort with a generous $100 tip. With a characteristic blend of humor and showmanship, Trump remarked, “This doesn’t look staged, does it?” as he accepted the delivery.

This encounter underscored the real-life impact of Trump’s legislative measures. Thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, workers like Simmons, who earned $11,000 in tips last year, can benefit from a tax break. The legislation allows qualified tipped workers to deduct up to $25,000 of their tipped income starting this tax season, fulfilling one of Trump’s key campaign promises to ensure “No tax on tips.”

The White House highlighted Simmons’ story as a testament to the policy’s positive effects, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to supporting hardworking Americans through such economic relief measures.

The White House noted that Simmons, whose husband is battling cancer, made $11,000 in tips last year.

Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, qualified tipped workers can deduct up to $25,000 of their tipped income beginning this tax season. The policy delivers on one of the president’s core campaign promises: “No tax on tips.”

According to the White House, Simmons is able to supplement her husband’s reduction in income, make payments on debt from the treatment, and pay for travel expenses for her family.

The act allows for qualified overtime workers to use a $12,500 deduction as well. When Trump asked Simmons whether the $11,000 in deductions included the overtime deduction, she answered that it did not.

“We should call it the ‘Great Big Beautiful Tax Cut Bill’ because it’s tremendous amounts of money, and that’s overtime, that’s also on social security, as you know, and it’s pretty amazing,” the president said.

Trump invited Simmons and her husband to the UFC fight at the White House on June 14 as part of the celebration for America’s 250th birthday coming up on July 4.

Trump thanked Simmons for being at the White House, and she thanked him for the tax cuts.

“Well, I want to thank you for the no tax on tips. It has helped my family out immensely, and I definitely appreciate it,” she said.

James Cameron Shares Why He Chose New Zealand Over the US After Criticizing Trump

James Cameron has credited New Zealand’s adept handling of the COVID-19 crisis as a driving force behind his decision to relocate there. The esteemed director, originally from Ontario, Canada, shared these insights during an interview on In Depth with Graham Bensinger.

At 71, the visionary filmmaker expressed that New Zealand’s effective pandemic response convinced him of the country’s stability compared to the United States. “Where would you rather live?” Cameron pondered. He praised New Zealand as a place that values science and promotes unity toward a common goal, contrasting it with the divisiveness and skepticism he perceives in the U.S.

Known for helming cinematic juggernauts like Titanic, The Terminator, Avatar, and Aliens, Cameron highlighted New Zealand’s success in eradicating the virus not once, but twice. He acknowledged, however, that a third wave emerged with a mutated strain that managed to break through the country’s defenses.

‘Or a place where everybody’s at each other’s throats, extremely polarized, turning its back on science and basically would be in utter disarray if another pandemic appears.’

Cameron, who has directed cinematic blockbusters such as Titanic, The Terminator, Avatar and Aliens, said that ‘New Zealand had eliminated the virus completely’ on two occasions until a ‘third time when it showed up in a mutated form’ and ‘broke through.’

In the interview, Cameron said that by the time the dangerous strain of coronavirus had spread across New Zealand, the population ‘already had a 98 percent vaccination rate’ – more than 36 percent higher than in the states.

James Cameron, 71, says his move to New Zealand was tied to the country’s competence in conquering COVID-19

‘This is why I love New Zealand,’ Cameron said. ‘People there are, for the most part, sane as opposed to the United States where you had a 62 percent vaccination rate, and that’s going down – going the wrong direction.’

At one point in the exchange, Bensinger called the U.S. ‘a fantastic place to live’ to which Cameron asked, ‘Is it?’

When Bensinger referenced the stunning nature in New Zealand, Cameron responded, ‘I’m not there for scenery; I’m there for the sanity.’

Cameron said that he initially flirted with the idea of moving to New Zealand in 1994 after a visit left him enchanted with the nation and its populace, who he ‘just really fell in love with.’

Said Cameron: ‘I made myself a promise – “I’m going to come live here someday.”‘

Cameron said that he and his spouse Suzy, 64, had past explored the topic and she had always been amenable to the idea of moving.

‘When Suzy and I were first getting serious, she said, “Fine, no problem” – she was game,’ Cameron said.

Cameron said that while he and his spouse owned properties in Southern California, they always kept an eye on New Zealand, and finally went ahead with the plan after Avatar’s release.

Said the filmmaker: ‘Now, later, we have children, we have a family, we’ve got roots in Malibu and Santa Barbara, that conversation had to be amended slightly, but we did say after Avatar, “Let’s make this happen.”‘

An admittedly ‘frustrated’ Cameron last month slammed Trump and his administration for its environmental policies.

Cameron called the president ‘most narcissistic a**hole in history since f***ing Nero,’ adding, ‘Yeah, you can quote that.’

Cameron told The Hollywood Reporter, ‘I’m frustrated because the human race seems to be delusional about what they think is going to happen next.

‘We are going backwards.’

Cameron last year said he found Trump’s re-election in 2024 to be ‘a turn away from everything decent’ while appearing on he F#$%ing News with Paddy Gower podcast.
